From what I've researched it appears that GM used a 3rd party company out of California to develop their DOD where Ford's own in house engineers developed their cylinder deactivation systems for the Coyote. I hate these damn government regulations forcing manufacturers to up complexity for a barely perceptible change in emissions. That along with new regs the government is now pushing to force EV's on people will cost us even more money. We need some major changes with the powers that be. I love my 2017 F150 5.0.. For 50k you can get a used 2018-2019 ford raptor with the 802a package and 40k miles under if you look hard enough. But dealers are giving 5k off these in some locations and 1.9 Percent interest at 72 months is impossible to beat. cash wise id go raptor but if you need the loan this STX is the way to go.
Oh +$1000 with the 1.9 & 72 mo. I had forgot to read it but the contract includes it from Ford Credit. But u have to watch it closely on your buy sheet.
Unfortunately, $50k isn’t what it used to be. That’s what happens when our government prints money and sends billions to foreign governments while neglecting the very people that they’re supposed to be serving. $50k in 2024 money is $41,700 in 2020 money, and that should illustrate just how much money the government has printed and spent in the last few years.

It’s hard to believe that our currency could be so devalued in such a short period of time, and it’s another form of taxation (aka theft) on top of the already rampant taxation that we’re forced to put up with. Income tax, property tax and sales tax, just to name a few, and on top of that we get inflation tax, which essentially steals from us by devaluing the very money that we’ve worked for and saved… our government has proven that they’re not trustworthy and that they’re incapable of handling our tax dollars responsibly, and they need to be called out on it. No humps on my 21 Ram.. Gotta say it was a hard choice between the 5.0 150 and the 5.7 Ram when I traded in my eco boost. The torque was amazing on the eco boost but you can’t beat the v8 sound and even power.
I just purchased a 2024 F150 STX 5.0 it has 200 miles on it now this type of truck fits me well not over the top. I guess I’m old school Georgia boy but I think Henry Ford would say this truck is all we need to offer to our customers kinda like the way he offered two colors as long as it was black
I have a 2021 STX FX4. 3.5 L with 3.55 rear. This is my second F150 with the 3.5. Tune it and it gets 100+ gains in hp and torque. I have had the 5.0 in a mustang and it’s a great engine. But for the F150 the 3.5 is the top of the line engine for a reason! Because it is.🤯

Safely stack money and put a bigger down payment down to get payments as low as possible. I have a 2.7 2023 f150 xlt crew cab it was like 62 out the door. Plan save and make sure you make more than the value of the truck, that’s the most important factor. MAKE MORE THAN THE TRUCK IS WORTH that’s the motto
While I agree that the 5.0 liter coyote is a great engine , I have the 3.5 and I will tell you the torque is amazing. It also can tow heavy loads all day long in tenth gear

Got it just before Covid hit, 1.9% rate and before the truck price increases. Not a scuff or Knick on the whole truck, it did have a scrape in the bed so he at least used it like a truck once lol
Coyote V8 is better then LS and a thousand times better then the Direct injection V8s from Gm that replaced the LS. Bolt a super charger onto a new Coyote, keep factory warrant and no Dodge or GM has a chance in a race. The coyote is just plain built tough.
Paid 55k for the same 5.0 stx but with 4wd and has the dual exhaust. It’s silver with everything blacked out. Absolutely love it. Gets 20-21 mpg going 75 on highway

Don’t know I just got mine the other day, it has four-wheel-drive. I got it for under 50 grand and it has more bells and whistles and I know what to do with. And not only does mine have a remote start. I can start it from anywhere, locate it from anywhere and lock or unlocked the doors from anywhere.
Just my 2¢.. I never use the sunglass compartment. If Ford is reading people's comments they probably could do away with it in future years down the road. Thanks both of you guys.
I’ve had a 17 2.7, 19 3.5 and 22 5.0…the 2.7 was the most fun engine and I miss that 6 speed. The 10 speed is great for keeping in the power, but hate the clunky shifts. Will be getting a 24 STX this year love the refresh
It blows my mind that Ford still makes a truck that requires a key to operate. Every other truck manufacturer has push button start and sensors in the handles. On every trim.
I prefer a key and I’ve watched so many reviews where people bitch about all the electronics in today’s trucks; apparently Ford was watching too. Besides that, the things that really count to the people who are going to buy this truck…. a lot of standard safety tech, no floor hump in the rear seat and the chef’s kiss….that beautiful coyote engine.
Looks great I have a '23 stx with the blackout package, love it. 51k for a 4x2 truck is steep. Not a fan of the digital gauges. I have the 2.7 ecoboost and mine came with dual exhaust, did they stop this for the '24s?
That 5.0L is nice but can't do work like the 3.5L. Had them both and my 3.5L will out work that 5.0L any day. I guess my fellow Texans have some inferiority issues 😜
No hate on the Ecobeast, they are awesome! We have owned both the 3.5 EB, and a few coyotes over the years. In 2024, the age of turbos/hybrids/evs, we just appreciate the V8.

I just bought a v8, 4buh4 stx and I love it. I had a raptor before it and that thing was so complicated and full of nonsense, I couldn't stand it. 65k mi and three cam phasers and I was done.
That overhead cam engine isn’t going to eat cam shafts and lifters. You might have to rev it a bit more to get into the power band but sounds good doing it! 😂 Where’s the trailer brake controller?
Can you get the securicode on a STX? Coming from a 04 lariat that came with it and I swear it’s the best thing ford ever made. A huge mobile locker. I do outdoor stuff and like how I can lock my keys in my truck and not have to worry about them hunting, fishing, kayaking, skiing, etc. My brother who has a Chevy is envious of that feature. You can get it on a Chevy but it’s not the same from what I saw. I would love the STX with that feature added.
Does Ford offer a limited slip? I know you can get a locker but that’s more for offroad. I have one on my Ram and would not go without it. The aluminum Ford is so light on the rear end traction seems to be an issue.
Hey guys, most of these Ecoboost owners that loves to bash on this 5.0 F150 or any 5.0L Coyote V8 F150 are mostly EPA lovers as well as Muscle Car haters.
I have a 2018 F150 Lariat with the 5.0........ I will be buying a new 24 this summer..... and will get the 3.5 ecoboost. I will take the extra low end torque and turbos over 'cylinder deactivation'..... cylinder deactivation has NEVER been a good idea no matter the manufacturer.....Lots of oil burning issues with Honda's, Chevy's, etc...... no thanks. They ruined the 5.0
truck looks awesome, this black on black package does clean up the plastic look well ... but that aside, your pushin $50k with couple fancy tech but no actual basics to use this as a truck ... bed linear, fender well covers or under body ... at the end 1 salty winter and $50k is toast...
I’d also say the 2.7 is a better engine than 3.5. Think reliability. Seen many more 2.7s outlive and ask any ford mechanic. They will tell you the best engines are the 2.7 and 5.0.
I'd buy that "bus", if it had captain chairs rear seats, slide open rear window, and 4 wheel drive, for not one cent more MSRP. (Price for that type vehicle has dropped, since video was made).
I’ve been thinking about getting my first pickup, although I will probably go used cause I’m 24 and broke but is the FX4 package a must have even if you go on a dirt road or farm pasture a few times a year? Most of the time will definitely be spent on road. Thanks!
Y’all ain’t just paying for inflation with that $50k price tag. You’re also paying for safety features that didn’t exist 15 years ago. You’re paying for government regulation that didn’t exist 15 years ago. Also, even though 15 year old F150s could see 300k, the new ones do it consistently with some seeing 500k to 600k… in the gasoline models and that’s relatively trouble free as in no significant repairs and no rebuilds. In the past getting a truck to 300k usually meant a ton of engine work about half way to two thirds of the way through its life.
Change the grill to Raptor grill, add plastic fender , change tail gate to Raptor, lift 4 inches and add off road tire and it will become Raptor looking truck.

Uneducated take. The current 5.0 makes more torque than the 2.7 almost the entire rev band. 2.7 only makes more from 2,800-3,300 rpm. Look at the curves.

I tow 5,000 pound every weekend in the summer with my 2023 5.0L, it never screams. I drove the 2.7 on my test drive, you might as well get out and push to merge in that thing. Had no top end power.
I have a 2023 xlt 3.5 and i have to say that im already tired of it. I had 4 V8 f150's before it and i want my V8 back. It wants to just drive fast all the time. Worst of all, it sounds like a car.
24 STX with the FP700 or Rousch 2.7L TVS supercharger kits, and a decent stainlessworks long tube - X pipe - dual exhaust setup would make this baby scream. Needs the 3.73 axle though. 3.3 is too tall, sucks for acceleration and towing.
I get that 50k is the new entry level in the market. But that is just insane. My stepfather's high country silverado was 58k back in 2014. The STX should not be more than 35-40k.
You could always pay 50k for a Silverado Custom with the 2014 interior and halogen bulbs. But seriously, No one should be paying sticker for these trucks. Most dealerships are knocking atleast 4k off the STX. They will sale at invoice which knocks off a little more than 2k, Ford is offering a national factory rebate that everyone qualifies for at 2k. Not including if you qualify for other incentives like military/police. The loaded STX 4x4 trucks are getting over 7k off.
I would gladly take an STX extended cab 4x4 5L If i could get heated seats Can't even get heated seats in an extended cab in Canada at all as of 24. Ill be keeping my 21 F150 till it gives me grief....then off to a Tundra i guess,cause they actually will give me a 6.5ft box specd the way i want.
Peoples lack of financial literacy in this new world is concerning. You lease -> own these vehicles now. Pay 600 bucks a month on a 3 year lease with no money down, then buy the lease out after the term is over. That way you’re paying less than the average monthly payment of like, a civic, until the payoff drops to 0.

51k for a 2wd stripped down STX is crazy, I got my 22 Lariat before the price increase and was out the door for about 57k

I just bought a v8, 4buh4 stx and I love it. I had a raptor before it and that thing was so complicated and full of nonsense, I couldn't stand it. 65k mi and three cam phasers and I was done.
I miss my 2.7 L ecoboost... fast as hell and uses hardly any gas for a pickup
I bought a 2016 f150 xlt 4 door v6 ecoboost back in 2016 for $42,000. This is $50,000.
I got a fully optioned GTI in 2019 for ~30k, now they're breaking 40. I don't think there's anything that hasn't gone up 20%+, sadly.
I did the same 2016 f150 xlt loaded with the 2.7 EB 40k out the door.

That overhead cam engine isn’t going to eat cam shafts and lifters. You might have to rev it a bit more to get into the power band but sounds good doing it! 😂 Where’s the trailer brake controller?

Can you get the securicode on a STX? Coming from a 04 lariat that came with it and I swear it’s the best thing ford ever made. A huge mobile locker. I do outdoor stuff and like how I can lock my keys in my truck and not have to worry about them hunting, fishing, kayaking, skiing, etc. My brother who has a Chevy is envious of that feature. You can get it on a Chevy but it’s not the same from what I saw. I would love the STX with that feature added.
Does Ford offer a limited slip? I know you can get a locker but that’s more for offroad. I have one on my Ram and would not go without it. The aluminum Ford is so light on the rear end traction seems to be an issue.

Hey guys, most of these Ecoboost owners that loves to bash on this 5.0 F150 or any 5.0L Coyote V8 F150 are mostly EPA lovers as well as Muscle Car haters.

I have a 2018 F150 Lariat with the 5.0........ I will be buying a new 24 this summer..... and will get the 3.5 ecoboost. I will take the extra low end torque and turbos over 'cylinder deactivation'..... cylinder deactivation has NEVER been a good idea no matter the manufacturer.....Lots of oil burning issues with Honda's, Chevy's, etc...... no thanks. They ruined the 5.0

truck looks awesome, this black on black package does clean up the plastic look well ... but that aside, your pushin $50k with couple fancy tech but no actual basics to use this as a truck ... bed linear, fender well covers or under body ... at the end 1 salty winter and $50k is toast...

I’d also say the 2.7 is a better engine than 3.5. Think reliability. Seen many more 2.7s outlive and ask any ford mechanic. They will tell you the best engines are the 2.7 and 5.0.

I'd buy that "bus", if it had captain chairs rear seats, slide open rear window, and 4 wheel drive, for not one cent more MSRP. (Price for that type vehicle has dropped, since video was made).
I’ve been thinking about getting my first pickup, although I will probably go used cause I’m 24 and broke but is the FX4 package a must have even if you go on a dirt road or farm pasture a few times a year? Most of the time will definitely be spent on road. Thanks!

Also, even though 15 year old F150s could see 300k, the new ones do it consistently with some seeing 500k to 600k… in the gasoline models and that’s relatively trouble free as in no significant repairs and no rebuilds. In the past getting a truck to 300k usually meant a ton of engine work about half way to two thirds of the way through its life.
Change the grill to Raptor grill, add plastic fender , change tail gate to Raptor, lift 4 inches and add off road tire and it will become Raptor looking truck.
My 2022 CC Ram 1500 does not have a hump in the backseat, just so you guys know. Completely flat floor.

Uneducated take. The current 5.0 makes more torque than the 2.7 almost the entire rev band. 2.7 only makes more from 2,800-3,300 rpm. Look at the curves.
@jamesm2464 the 5.0 has more hp and needs to rev to get the torque. Both 2.7 and 3.5 engines build torque down low.5.0 is a screamer.Try towing with each of these engines and you will know what I'm talking about.Not as uneducated as you think😉

I tow 5,000 pound every weekend in the summer with my 2023 5.0L, it never screams. I drove the 2.7 on my test drive, you might as well get out and push to merge in that thing. Had no top end power.

I drove a Silverado 2.7 yesterday. It doesn't even come close to the Ecoboost 2.7. The transmission is horrible too.
I have a 2023 xlt 3.5 and i have to say that im already tired of it. I had 4 V8 f150's before it and i want my V8 back. It wants to just drive fast all the time. Worst of all, it sounds like a car.

The 3.5 is not available in the 2024 STX, it's either the 2.7 EB or the 5.0
Im looking at 24 f150 stx and none show running boards. I thought the stx was standard with running boards
24 STX with the FP700 or Rousch 2.7L TVS supercharger kits, and a decent stainlessworks long tube - X pipe - dual exhaust setup would make this baby scream.
Needs the 3.73 axle though. 3.3 is too tall, sucks for acceleration and towing.

I get that 50k is the new entry level in the market. But that is just insane. My stepfather's high country silverado was 58k back in 2014. The STX should not be more than 35-40k.
You could always pay 50k for a Silverado Custom with the 2014 interior and halogen bulbs. But seriously, No one should be paying sticker for these trucks. Most dealerships are knocking atleast 4k off the STX. They will sale at invoice which knocks off a little more than 2k, Ford is offering a national factory rebate that everyone qualifies for at 2k. Not including if you qualify for other incentives like military/police. The loaded STX 4x4 trucks are getting over 7k off.

Peoples lack of financial literacy in this new world is concerning. You lease -> own these vehicles now. Pay 600 bucks a month on a 3 year lease with no money down, then buy the lease out after the term is over. That way you’re paying less than the average monthly payment of like, a civic, until the payoff drops to 0.
