Thank you gig.. I still turn my iron on when I think it's a bottle cap and you can hear a iron grunt when you get up on it. Plus I will pump my detector over the top of it and the number will start go from - 4 to 12 15 16 -6.. Just all over the place.. Hey I learned that trick from you gig.. Good stuff gig

With 800 I turn on AM and do ML wiggle off target when I get a bouncy 12 to 15. You get a grunt tone as it moves off target. You will get a clean break with a good target. Have tested this a great deal and it works 99% of time. Sometimes a new cap will fool you.

John Roach Thanks for that tip!

Store a 10Khz programme on your personal button. If you suspect you have a bottle cap or the ID comes in that range, then switch to your 10 Khz personal programme and if numbers jump into the 20's then it's a bottle cap or junk.
Look on the Minelab youtube channel.

I find, with my Nox, if you go into all metal mode and sweep just in front or behind the target, sometimes it gets a bit of iron grunting when it's a bottle cap. I've seen a video that suggests bobbing the coil up and down above the target and if it's a bottle cap you get iron grunts mixed in with the good tone, but I've tried this on a gold ring and get very similar results i.e. also get the iron grunts. Great videos Gigmaster, really enjoy your adventure approach to life, a true inspiration. Keep em coming.

My Excal broke and cant afford another one just yet, so I bought an Equinox in the interim.
I've taken it out 3 times and it's good, just a bit iffy in the sound department, but I was hitting good targets right off the bat.
I do miss my Excal very much as I ran the thing almost daily for 7 years and know it very well.
Anyway I'm happy to be digging in salt water again and will just have to put in the hours so I can learn this machine.
Thanks for the settings advice, I'll give them a try tomorrow on the beach.

C Ballantyne Got to learn those little sounds, etc on every machine. I think you will love the Equinox. I agree with the sound issue. The numbers will come in handy. Good luck out there.

Hi Gigmaster. Your videos are truly awe inspiring! You have so much knowledge. I have taken my 600 out for its first try today on a local beach here in the UK. Luckily the British summer is doing ok at the moment. Still learning the settings, but will definitely try yours on my next trip out. It may help with less iffy signals I was getting, but did find a little ankle bracelet (stainless steel) and a few coins. But also had to dig those bottle caps too, as you say... dig everything! I will learn the way and hopefully dig up some gold and silver soon... forever hopeful!! Thanks again and much respect to you!! Pete, Dorset UK

I got the urge to dig every time I heard those tones. Here in Oregon, the dry sand is hard to dig because everyone builds bonfires and lots of melted aluminum along with the bottle caps and pull tabs. That's why I like my Nox 800, it works really great in the wet stuff at low tide. When I get a tone it's usually something good. Thanks for the demo.

Thank you so much for sharing your videos. I bought a Equinox 800 a week ago and found a tiny 925 sliver ring. Lots of trash and plenty of deep coins. Like it so far but still think my Excalibur ii is better in my opinion. I will figure this unit out I'm sure. I have to admit I am digging deeper with the 800 and that has me excited. Thanks again

Good video, try running iron bias in about 3 on the bottle caps I watched a video the other week where there was 2 nails one either side of a UK 20p coin and the nox was giving a good signal even when the coin was removed so he turned his iron bias up to 3 and it seemed to sort it out I don't know if it will help you but might be worth a shot
