This is an excellent video! I'm just getting started. I ordered a Minelab X-Terra Pro and can't wait for it to arrive. I enjoyed your practical, quiet demeanor and have subscribed.
Thanks for your kind words, and for watching the video! Good luck with your new hobby, and remember it’s a patience game. The more you detect, the more you find!
Thanks for watching, and I’m happy to hear you found it useful. Definitely pays to observe etiquette, as it helps give all detectorists a good name. Unfortunately it only takes a couple of people to do the wrong thing and then we’re all seen as people who don’t care!
Thanks for the great tips. Relatively new at detecting on a semi regular basis and seen many vids on how to discriminate from iron/aluminum and dig the good hits instead, yet almost 90-95% of the time after watching such vids the best advice after all the details of metal detecting are taught - the presenters end up saying dig all the targets 🤣
True. I'm prone to digging "most" of the targets, but there are definitely certain things to look for, and certain areas to target. Beaches are tricky, that's for sure!
Yep - exactly right. Every beach is different with respect to mineralisation and interference, so digging everything ensures you’ll (eventually) find some good stuff!
Thanks mate! Good luck, and don’t be discouraged if you don’t find much - beaches can be tricky, but when you find your first ring you’ll be hooked for life (if you’re not already)!
Hi again Steve 👋 Another great video. Great advice and tips. When I go down the beach, ⛱️ I take a snorkel and goggles 🥽 with me so I can see where my scoop is and if it's in the right place because the 🌊 can obstruct my vision. Plus it's great to float around on the reef/ rocky areas with my pin pointer and get right into areas my 6 inch coil might now be able to go. I see all sorts of sea life such as crabs and abalone. I would love to invest in a Blu Nemo breathing system so I can get up to 3 meters deep. I have had no luck with jewellery but I love snorkeling and getting underwater. Most of the tips and tricks you spoke about, I already knew which is great because I must be doing it right 👍 Take care mate. Til next time 🤗
You’re more adventurous than I am, but I plan to do some underwater detecting some time in the near future. The Nemo would be a game changer, as it’d be far more efficient to stay under the water the whole time. Good luck!
Hey Steve, I'm in the USA and I really appreciate your NO NONSENSE tips and straight to the point. A lot of guys on here think they are DJs or something and talk for 20 minutes when the important thing could have been said in one minute. Thanks again---one question, being down under, do you notice any problems being upside down while detecting? LOL
Hey there, and welcome! I try to keep things straightforward and easy to understand, so I appreciate your comments…. No problems detecting down under either - it’s where all the fun is, right? 🤣
Watching from Finland. Greetings to a fellow detector!😊
Greetings from Australia! Hope you e been finding g some amazing treasures!
I like a carpenters nail apron/bag with two pockets…..one side for treasure, the other for trash.
Good idea!

Always appreciate your tips videos. Great information. 👍Thanks!
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching.
best tip I'll give you is dig everything, even iron sounds. vdi signals can change out of hole. lots of jewelry is not precious metal, but still cool.

Just got my first metal detector I’m going to the Chicago beach to try it out
Awesome! Good luck mate!
Grid all sandy volleyball ball areas!
Definitely worthwhile!
Dig every signal at beach.
A solid strategy!
You sound like a very ethical detectorist.
