Andrew, I have always been impressed but now I am super impressed. To be able to diagnose and repair a complex in-tank fuel pump issue roadside while on a sightseeing trip is just amazing. And to have the required tools on hand including a terminal crimper just blows my mind. Just so inspiring.
This happened to us in the middle of a nature reserve in Kenya. The driver fixed the fuel pump under the seat while we stood outside watching out for lions and elephants. It must of been around 40 degrees also.
Andrew, was happy to see you had posted a video this morning!! I'm glad that as well as being happy and successful that you are also happy!! I am looking forward to seeing future videos of the new castle!! You are living the dream brother!! I'm so glad you are sharing it. It certainly is uplifting to many!!

I remember the Ford Ranger he had in a video when he was getting some junk vehicles, too bad we didn't get a will it run but we got one for the Nissan pickup
It was a more than wonderful video, different from the previous ones. The beauty of nature and the beauty of the places you visited are more than wonderful. You made us feel the spirit of travel and adventure with you. We hope that you will continue with this type of beautiful videos. Thank you from the heart. I have been following you from Iraq for more than 5 years.
Thanks for taking us along with you on Holiday , i enjoyed it, and hats off to you fixing your fuel pump on the road, 99% of people would have given up and sent it to the shop!
I did the exact same thing with the oil filter when the old gasket sticks to the engine. You only make that mistake once. Thanks for showing it and not omitting. Good job, Andrew.
I agree. But why in the hell are there Three different fuel pumps? My car needed an alternator. And there was three different ones for my car. the one I needed was out of stock. Talk about changening suppliers in mid-production year. What a bunch of garbage.
This video is nostalgia at its finest. I grew up in an 80series Land Cruiser and my parents sold it for an 05 LX470 right around the time I was getting ready to drive. One hell of a vehicle. We bought it used with 20k miles in 07 and drove it till I rolled it like a moron in 2017 off roading. Show this truck the love and TLC it deserves. And it will be a solid vehicle for you.
if you have one of those automated handheld massagers, that acts like a jackhammer, use it on the carpet, the vibrations cause the dirt particles to jump out, then you vacuum them up. The vibration keeps the dirt particles bouncing while you vacuum...works like a charm
Andrew, you have proved again, that when you're travelling and have the skills, never leave home without a set of tools. By the way it was an amazing video.
Damn I would have been stranded. But owe Andrew just digs in and gets it done and looks like he's got a good partner who will do the same and help him with anything he needs help with. But we all know he can do practically anything on his own. They guy can fix anything and what an interesting way to live life and asce tons of money. People spend $100,000 on brand new where Andrew spends a couple thousand and if anything goes bad he buys the parts and fixes the issue. I would be lost on the road LOL. Probably go to the nearest sales lot and trade it on a new vehicle and say there it's fixed 😂😂 and have a big payment for 6 yrs ..
With all the heavy machinery, I am surprised he did not just dig the ice and snow out or lift the conex up and elevate it on blocks (dead batteries maybe)
It´s really nice to see you having fun Andrew. And even fixing on the spot your suv! Something that would have ruined anyone's holidays... Not to you. Hats off mate!
I new i was at a gorge up their somewhere but I couldn't remember where and as soon as I seen videos of it I knew that it was warkins Glen state park. That is an amazing hike.

Enjoyed to views, tours and good to see Mrs. C is adding culture in your life - its not all just machines, grease, oil & fuel. Breakdowns are bad on a pleasure trip, good you had tools.
There's that one special view where they sit out loooking over the valley & hills at the end that will never get old. It's what I first think of when another Andrew video pops up.
Had to laugh at the old gasket remaining on the engine. Never had that happen either but it did on my old Honda Pilot. ticked me off to no end. Love your videos, no nonsense and right to the point. Thanks!
You are the most unusual American citizen I have ever seen my friend. You are like wild Russians. They can fix everything anywhere almost with their bare hands and can be ready for everything anytime. Nothing shocks them. Tough ppl. And you look tough too. I liked how you checked your gasoline pump power supply with the battery by putting wires straight. I see how you manage everything. How you broke your sit heating surface by accident😅. I wish I could come and visit you and your place. You seem to me a simple good guy. I have been watching you since I lived in Russia. I saw how your friend-dog passed away. I saw how you bought different machines for your business job. And now I am living here in NY. And I am still watching you. I know you live in Upstate more close to the capital Albany. You are cool my friend. A great car by the way you got. I am happy for you. You do everything right.

I drove up about 90 minutes north of where I live to see that eclipse. I was tight on money at the time but jumped on it since a couple other things lined up that were in that area as well. But, even if that little trip of mine was a bit of a mess, seeing that eclipse made the whole thing worth it. Simply one of the coolest things I have ever seen in my whole life. Simply incredible. Glad you went and saw it yourself. I imagine it was worth it.
I can see it now, Andrew saying I'm going to go and get some bread and milk, 47 hours later! After digging everything out of the ice and snow, trying to fix anything that is not working, then trying to start machinery and finally get on the track. There are times I appreciate living down under! Loved the clip Andrew, gives me appreciation the conditions you live in.
On my second Lexus and they are one of the best doing it. The first one I owned was a 2006 LS430 which I paid off and had for 8 years. The one I currently drive is a 2017 LS460 and she's a sewing machine. Most reliable, dependable and pleasure to drive vehicles I've ever owned. Great content my guy.
Andrew, I guess the girl in the video is either a motor mechanic, welder, fitter, welder, auto sparky or the like, can drive all forms of machinery, has all her appropriate heavy vehicle licences, is a Land care management major, landscaper, horticulturist, builder, carpenter, glazier, panel beater and painter……. Well give her another 12 months and you will teach her all those skills plus a lot more. Really enjoyed the road trip mate, beautiful part of your country and Canada. Really nice to see that this young lady is teaching you how to enjoy life outside a machine. Great vlog mate as lays, great content and plenty of variety.
Hi Andrew, I've got the 2003 Landcruiser with the 5 speed auto and the 4.7 petrol motor too. Very nice machines. If you slap your foot on the throttle in low gear they will nearly rip your head off your shoulders. I love my car. Nearly 22 years old and it still drives like a new car. They were some very interesting places you visited in this presentation. Thanks for sharing.
I love your can-do-attitude on this channel and i take my hat off for a guy that swaps out the motor of his fuel pump himself on a family holiday at the side of the road👏. 👍
AC - you never dissapoint- thanks to u I now have 4 side by sides - skid steer- mini ex and the trucks to pull them- your vids are great- that mountain sunset / fall foliage … awesome
The second I saw the cruiser months back I was looking for the video you did on it introducing it. Welcome to the cruiser club! Best vehicles ever made.
When replacing seat covers. If you take a garment steamer and steam the seat foam. It makes the foam swell and plump up filling out the seat cover making it tighter and less wrinkled.
The juxtaposition of your content is amazing. One minute you’re blow torching a drive motor in the snow, the next you’re sharing insane scenery with your girl. Consistently the best content on YT.
Andrew-- The Car Nut (ToyotaTec) says CHANGE YOUR COOLANT. He is seeing head gasket failures due to the coolant turning acidic after a period of time. Big pain to change gaskets. Flush and install new!! Nice ride.
Whole time I'm just thinking how much havoc the hammer would be causing in all this rock, beautiful footage though. Nice to see you out with your girl having fun.
To get hair out of carpet, use a spray bottle of water (just a bit of spray). Hair has oil, and with a little water, it will attract each other when you wipe with a rag or your hand.
Good morning. I think this is one of the better videos that you have posted. The footage from the drone makes for a very beautiful close-up of the beautiful places the two of you visited.
Andrew you should start taking your seats and other stuff to a local upholster, you'll be more happy with the finish and as a plus it's supports local businesses.
Yeah. Toyota/Lexus using multiple million of dollars to tune and test that Lexus/Land cruiser suspension for good off road performance and stability. Previous owner "I know better than one of the most successful off road vehicle makers in the world. Lets not only change the wheel size, but the suspension geometry with spacers and wider track"
Super. thanks. sometimes those trips where something goes wrong and you fix it makes it memorably nicer. nothing like continuing on your way after a fuel pump and you wash the gas off your hands. She seems real nice. good for you Andrew
Hey Andrew thanks you for the really good video and making me feel better about my self right now because two days ago I was in the emergency and your video have been helping me out with it
Thank you for showing us the magnificent Niagara and surrounding scenery. What a wonderful country. The formation of those cliff faces fills me with awe. The time it took to make with all those layers each of which must have taken a millennia. It's so apparent our spectacular planet is billions of years old.
Always clean the bead with wire wheel. Valve stem hole with tube brush. And use murphys tire soap everywhere!!! And yes the spacers move the centerline of your tire off the steering centerline. Which allows bumps to pivot the tire away. (Right bump = right turn)
You replaced the fuel pump on your car during a vacation with the tools you had and parts from an auto parts store. You are amazing! I wish I was that resourceful and well equipped.
Wherever you were around the 30 minute mark, much like I did with the video you posted at the start of the year with the winter waterfall I will be capturing stills and making them my desktop background. Such an incredibly beautiful place. Edit: Congratulations Andrew. Hope you, the better half & the little one all the best. Keep youtubeing, your adventures are always worth watching.
@24:35 One of the important things about sun dials to be accurate is that the transon angle has to be the same as the longitude degree of the area that it is in.
You are absolutely correct in changing the wheels back to factory wheels and removing the wheel spacers, simply put, when anyone changes the factory configuration of a vehicle, they take millions of dollars and countless man hours of development and research dedicated by which ever vehicle (name brand) to make a vehicle preform a certain way, and they throw it away, they waste it,if people in general, could realize, the needs of whatever long term transportation situation they are in, research, find and purchase a vehicle made for that situation, they could save a tremendous amount of time, money, repairs and aggravation, trying to make a vehicle do what it wasn't designed to do, Good video sir, Good example.
(1) this is the best concise recap of the eclipse, that I’ve seen - and the use of the glasses for the camera, vs just the camera itself, really demonstrated the fact that that just a fraction of the sun’s light hitting earth and the diffusion thereof through space, really can still light the earth… these pseudo-scientific observations are things the scientists just don’t bother to showcase👍🏻👏 (2) old school tire mounting👍🏻 (3) bought my 1st new vehicle, a 2000 Toyota Landcruiser, directly off the dealer showroom floor, for $55k… kept it for 12 yrs and then sold it, w/ 125k miles on the odometer, for $25k… since then have cycled through a MB twin turbo GWagon AMG55, a Volvo XC90 w/ the Yamaha Transverse mounted V8, a supercharged V8 Range Rover SV Autobiography, a MB GL AMG63, a 6L Cadillac Escalade ESV w/ an after market supercharger package and now, some 24 yrs after the initial Toyota LC purchase, I have a Lexus LX 600… went full circle for Toyota products and will likely have the current model till they bury me…y’all made a great choice to pick one up, as they’re virtually bulletproof mechanically-wise and the interior, such as the worn/torn leather, can be reupholstered or even just covered w/ well-wearing, tarp-canvas, easy to install/remove and wash, seat covers
Y’all should road trip to the Mount Washington Inn in Bretton Woods NH and then to the Grove Park Inn in Asheville NC. Both are majestic and cool historical places
I learned something about submerged fuel pumps. When you turn the ignition off and try to start it again but it refuses, it could be the fuel pump. It worked with the 13.5 - 14 volts that is available when the vehicle is running but not when the voltage drops to 12.7 or less when the vehicle is being started. For a temporary fix: get a jump from a another running vehicle that is providing the additional voltage. This might get you running again so you can avoid being stranded and also avoid being towed. Just don't turn it off again till you get to a place that it can be repaired. If you listen carefully near the fuel tank you should hear a slight humming noise if the fuel pump is working.
You normally hear them prime when you open the door. Is that so they are ready to go when the starter spins and don’t need to turn when the battery is working. Windows, folding mirror etc stop while firing up too.
@Cous1nJack Yes, the fuel pump must start and build fuel pressure before the electronic injectors can supply fuel to the cylinders. Once a preset amount of pressure is developed in the system, a pressure regulating valve opens and allows fuel to return to the tank. This recirculating action keeps the pump cool. During the starting procedure, the pump will start, build up pressure, and then will stop until the engine starts. This is done for safety in case there is a leak in the system. You wouldn't want gas being sprayed all over somewhere or worse, inside the engine compartment. Once the engine starts, the pump runs continuously working in conjunction with the pressure relief valve to maintain a constant fuel pressure to the system.
When I do a good open space I like to get in the middle and drive in a circle and let the discharged grass go into the middle where I first started cutting and you never have to turn any corners, it just seems to save time. But, every tub sets on it's own bottom! Enjoyed another video, keep em coming!
I have had that small air compressor for 4 years now and I love that little thing. I have had it on and had people ask me is it running . Super quiet and I have had it sitting outside all 4 years still works amazing
Except on a windy place like this, the snow will be a problem anyway. Maybe some concrete tiles in front of the entrance would be better, so he can shovel the snow away in few seconds, instead of fighting with it and with the frozen mud.
In 2017 here in Oregon we were treated to a full eclipse for about 10 minutes. It seemed so eiry to see the daylight fade away, people all around our neighborhood was cheering and dogs howling. I have a telescope afixed on the Sun with a sun filter, really spectacular close view. Nice family transporter.
Andrew, we all appreciate your frugality but it’s cool to see you in a clean, “new” ride! You deserve it.

@@ky.gambler5281 Ya but in the commenters defense this is the newest thing Andrew drives.

Andrew-- The Car Nut (ToyotaTec) says CHANGE YOUR COOLANT. He is seeing head gasket failures due to the coolant turning acidic after a period of time. Big pain to change gaskets. Flush and install new!! Nice ride.
Yea that will keep it from falling apart , not
@BlueFlyer21 hey now be nice. President Trump is going to make everything 100% better in January.
Let's go TRUMP VANCE 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

@@MWestern-m4g it's a 2uz it doesn't give a crap about the condition of the coolant lol
First time I ever seen the dogs on a leash. Love your dogs
Whole time I'm just thinking how much havoc the hammer would be causing in all this rock, beautiful footage though. Nice to see you out with your girl having fun.
Andrew thank you for sharing your beautiful full life with us!
Andrew you should start taking your seats and other stuff to a local upholster, you'll be more happy with the finish and as a plus it's supports local businesses.
pay for reupholstery on a 24 yr old car? HAHAHHAHAHAHAHA
@@TheGuruStud If you're paying for it on a car with less miles isn't that more of a concern.
Good luck with your new ride. Thanks for taking me along for the ride, I go to Buffalo area 3 to 4 times a year, and all my wifes family are there.
Turns out the manufacturer knew what they were doing when they selected the tyre and wheel size
Finally, the video I have been waiting for since you told me a month ago that you’d have it up in a month!
I was all into the video, then lost it when Andrew broke out the laser level for the Toyota badge… lol A+++++
I lost it at the Watermelon on the work bench! This girl is going to feed him right.
Super. thanks. sometimes those trips where something goes wrong and you fix it makes it memorably nicer. nothing like continuing on your way after a fuel pump and you wash the gas off your hands. She seems real nice. good for you Andrew
Drone shots by the falls was breathtaking
Andrew, you are one amazing person! You never fail to amaze me in all the years I have watched you. I have learned so much
@@edwardshupe6215 thanks.
Hey Andrew thanks you for the really good video and making me feel better about my self right now because two days ago I was in the emergency and your video have been helping me out with it
I hope you are on the mend! Sending healing vibes your way!
@ thank you I had a chainsaw kick back in my leg
Some beautiful shots. Really enjoyed❤❤❤❤❤

(1) this is the best concise recap of the eclipse, that I’ve seen - and the use of the glasses for the camera, vs just the camera itself, really demonstrated the fact that that just a fraction of the sun’s light hitting earth and the diffusion thereof through space, really can still light the earth… these pseudo-scientific observations are things the scientists just don’t bother to showcase👍🏻👏
(2) old school tire mounting👍🏻
(3) bought my 1st new vehicle, a 2000 Toyota Landcruiser, directly off the dealer showroom floor, for $55k… kept it for 12 yrs and then sold it, w/ 125k miles on the odometer, for $25k… since then have cycled through a MB twin turbo GWagon AMG55, a Volvo XC90 w/ the Yamaha Transverse mounted V8, a supercharged V8 Range Rover SV Autobiography, a MB GL AMG63,
a 6L Cadillac Escalade ESV w/ an after market supercharger package and now, some 24 yrs after the initial Toyota LC purchase, I have a Lexus LX 600… went full circle for Toyota products and will likely have the current model till they bury me…y’all made a great choice to pick one up, as they’re virtually bulletproof mechanically-wise and the interior, such as the worn/torn leather, can be reupholstered or even just covered w/ well-wearing, tarp-canvas, easy to install/remove and wash, seat covers
Y’all should road trip to the Mount Washington Inn in Bretton Woods NH and then to the Grove Park Inn in Asheville NC. Both are majestic and cool historical places
Been following for a long time but I'm super excited for the LX stuff Andrew, keep up the good work, they are tanks!
I have been waiting for this video! I love toyota/ lexus 4x4s. They can last forever with the right maintenance.
By maintenance do you mean using an Excavator as a spanner? This after all is Andrew we are talking about....
As can any other vehicle!

Happy Birthday, Cody! Many people don't realize there are so many amazing areas of New York State to explore.
Andrew man, you need to get the containers up higher on something so you don't have to fight in the winter to get the doors open
Or add a V shape roof infront / above it.
Except on a windy place like this, the snow will be a problem anyway. Maybe some concrete tiles in front of the entrance would be better, so he can shovel the snow away in few seconds, instead of fighting with it and with the frozen mud.
I was surprised that he didn't crank up one of the machines to get the snow and ice away from the door.
Flame thrower lol 😂

In 2017 here in Oregon we were treated to a full eclipse for about 10 minutes. It seemed so eiry to see the daylight fade away, people all around our neighborhood was cheering and dogs howling. I have a telescope afixed on the Sun with a sun filter, really spectacular close view. Nice family transporter.
