@@karamei The short version is Futoshi Matsunaga's insanely charismatic so he seduced this one chick named Junko Ogata. He then murdered a man and kidnapped his daughter whom has been dubbed Tokome(real name unknown because she was a minor)
So Junko ran home because maybe he wasn't so swell after all, but he tracked her down to her parents, and somehow brainwashed them. Once he got bored he had them kill each other one by one, including the parents, Junkos sister, sisters husband, their kids and so on and of course Junko rejoined him, because apparently family murder's something she's into. Tokome escaped and reported them both and they were arrested

I feel bad for Rie, too. I hate that she was taken advantage of. But she is an adult and adults have to take responsibility for their mistakes. Unfortunately, this mistake was huge and cost her her son's life.

I was wondering how he knew so much about crime in Japan, and could pronounce their names so well. There is another channel, Deadbug Says, where the creator lived in Japan. He has at least one of the same stories this channel has.
They deserve for someone to speak for them too and I'm glad that he does it.
I just can't understand how anyone would allow another person this much control of their life, regardless of intention. I wouldn't give my own mother this much control over my life. Naive is one thing but how was this woman raised that she was this unaware?? Maybe I'm not being fair... I just can't understand....
it was the constant repetitive sayings and the constant stream of lies. its like the same thing that happens to boomers who watch fox news- they can't temperate what they see vs what they know.
abuse is a hell of a thing. did you notice the slow progression of the abusers actions? it started with lies, and slowly escalated to full control. that's what abusers do.
and, while I'm no psychologist, the mother's apparent lack of understanding lies or taking everything literally might be some indicator that she wasn't neurotypical, which would possibly explain why she believed things so easily

Yes it's very hard to understand by those of us who could give a flying fuck about what other people think of us lol! But I have a friend who was raised very (Christian) religious and to obey no matter what and even though now she's an adult she is still very gullible and has been taken advantage of by these types of sadistic control freaks. She's getting a lot better now since I've been working with her and I'm happy to say I've created a monster for anyone who tries to take advantage of her again!

Mind control is an enormously underestimated activity, the word ‘grooming’ doesn’t really describe the demoralisation mental violence and repression that takes place. Emiko clearly started her behaviour at an early age.
this is also the case with cult mind conditioning and psychological abuse between partners. isolation and the constant reminder that they are the only ones who can be trusted etc etc
I don't know why but I can't get enough of these japanese cases. They're always so unique and interesting, I can't get enough.
"Mind Control" is often confused with "Brain Washing" but the difference is quite striking: with 'Brain Washing' one is fully aware that one is being thus, but is simply powerless to stop it. With 'Mind Control' however, one is mostly unaware of it and is therefore unable to recognise it, at least to the extent to resist it.
In this case, it may be that some aspects of 'Mind Control' was used... However, was the child's mother unable to recognise that her son was dying and, could she be absolved from her moral responsibility based on the construct of "Mind Control"? The judge clearly didn't think so, and if (s)he was right was 5 years enough?
Either way, where adult bullying & manipulation ends and "Mind Control" begins is a question for those qualified to render an opinion... 🤔

It’s even worse in relationships where feelings and control are exercised gradually over time by one partner , also accompanied by guilt,shame, bullying, rage and physical shows of rage and abuse.

I have a problem with the mother, in the fact that she never tried to substantiate any of her friends lies, and that nobody in this world would stop me feeding my family, short of killing me.
I'm glad the mother was sentenced to jail time. She failed appallingly as a mother in so many ways. Not only did she literally starve her children, she denied them medical care resulting in one of them dying.
Sending the victim to prison is insane but on the other hand she put he children in extreme danger in believing these lies and allowing that woman to control her so if that's why then I get it
The true victim is her kid. She sadly was a perpetrator too.

I feel all the cases I hear are cases from America, Europe, or other popular places other than Japan. You are the first UA-camr I've witnessed go over these cases and some may not be able to mentally go over them as you do. I appreciate you and your work even if I've only been watching for a day or two, I see a promising future for you on this platform. What is wrong with that controlling restricting lady. Like she was already getting all that she wanted. Why couldn't she, why wouldn't she, realize that she could have easily allowed for food and basic life essentials, because in reality it would have benefited her the most because things could continue on as they were. Maybe you can look into the story of Masten Wanjala (not sure of the spelling). He was a serial killer of young boys in Kenya. He was lynched by villagers after he escaped from the jail. I want to learn more but there is a language barrier. I think it's right up your true crime alley!

I am literally stunned by this case, like how can this woman let a complete stranger control her life so much and trust her more than her kids and husband. I can’t wrapped my head around it like how could this happen?
I can’t help but think it’s a bit pathetic or think that she is really weak minded (yeah the video still says she’s naive but still), maybe I’m that cold hearted or apathetic but I can’t can’t help think that and still find her at fault for what she did. This reminds me of that other case where a Japanese man practically control a family and made them kill each other, which also shocked me on how people can let a stranger have that much control over them.
I'm not sure. From what Dire stated in this video, I think the mother had some sort of mental disability. Maybe autism or even fetal alchohol syndrome. Her nativity seems excessive for someone who is supposedly neurotypical

I mean if you had someone constantly gaslight you, you'd start to believe what they're saying. This is a fairly common tactic for abusers. Then you have the culture that plays a part, and perhaps even underlying mental illnesses which again if you consider culture, is probably not something you'd talk about so much in a society like Japan. It's not an excuse, but please remember she is also a victim here, and we don't know how we would react after being threatened, beaten, and starved for prolonged periods. We couldn't expect our brains to function properly without ample food. The brain needs carbohydrates to function, none of the family got that.

It never ceases to amaze me how monsters like that get sympathy, probably from other feeble minded individuals. And don't blame Japanese culture because the other Japanese mothers at that school did what I would do and didn't associate with her. And she wasn't beaten or starved at the beginning so, again, this proves nothing. She was happy to believe her new friend over her husband and children way before the physical abuse started. Weak people are easily manipulated, they're easy targets to sick people. Unfortunately these weak minded people can procreate.
Update: A mother who allowed her 5-year-old son to starve to death while in a relationship with a domineering older woman was found guilty of abandoning her parental responsibilities and sentenced to five years in prison.

I warned her about this one women and she didn't listen and ended up being really hurt so now she listens to me when I say "stay away" from that one! Some of these narcissistic sociopaths who get pleasure controlling others are insidious and if you suspect a 'friend' or lover of this behavior get away ASAP and trust your intuition!!! This story is so tragic because of the kids, sickening!!

a lot of people are saying things like "what kind of a mother watches her own children suffer and not doing anything about it", or blaming Rie for being extremely weak-minded don't realize that she was going through a ton of shit due to the constant allegations of everyone who she thought were her friends talking shit about her behind her back, her husband allegedly cheating on her, and her divorce. like having to endure all of the trauma of being shit-talked behind your back constantly by friends and cheated on by your husband while also dealing with losing everything and becoming a single mother of three kids would likely be extremely detrimental to one's mental health. like this woman was likely suffering so bad mentally that she became much more gullible and allowed herself to be mind controlled by who she probably thought was the last person on Earth who cared about her. this woman thought she had NO ONE she could turn to except Emiko. and with the constant physical stress that her body was enduring due to starvation and having to take care of her boys, she was most likely losing her mind more and more by the day. this is a story of a woman who got taken advantage of by a master manipulator. keep in mind, she's not the only victim of Emiko, just the one who suffered the most likely as a result of her being more gullible and naive to begin with. according to the video, Emiko had managed to make people trust her enough to scam multiple grown ass people over the years as well as get them to do her bidding.
once Emiko was able to get Rie to believe her first major lie about her friends talking shit about her behind her back, Rie's mental health probably got worse as a result of having to deal with that and only made her an easier target for subsequent lies. it's hard to blame her.

I’m so saddened by this story. It’s like all of this could have been avoided with some early intervention. Some of the worst crimes I’ve heard of have been from some of the Asian countries and sadly mostly crimes against women. When it involves kids though, it hits the heart especially hard and makes your blood boil even more.

3:18 minutes into this and my heart’s already hurting for Rie. I have autism and have the same issues she did with gullibility and honesty. I can’t tell when people are lying to me, only when they say crazy or impossible things. She seems innocent.
