You can't judge until you've experienced it as it's such a mind fck. I always thought turning a blind eye to your child being harmed was part of the victim's brainwashing. I don't think so anymore, self-preservation be damned, there are parents that'll fight back at that point.

Doubt one man did this, it was a group of people, and one man took the fall. That is the way it is in the states, a network of satanic deviants are unleashed on society, all related to the ruling class or at least assets of them. The system then fabricates these lone wolf deviant stories and calls them serial killers. Dave McGowan documents the connections.

A 10 year old child wanting to be murdered so that she won't feel pain anymore is the blackest, darkest, most twisted thing I've ever witnessed in the world, they are at an innocent age where they don't have to think about any negative stuff of life like taxes and responsibility, and they are supposed to laugh, and play games, and make friends. And yet that little kid was brought up to such a place that she willingly lifted her own neck to be strangled. That literally brought a tear to my eye.

There are very few people, even after watching far too much True Crime content for my own good, that I would feel comfortable calling "pure evil". Most of these killers/abusers come from horrific upbringings and deal with immense mental illness/trauma, which doesn't outright excuse their actions, but I can at least sympathize with them on some level.
Futoshi, however, is pure evil, and I'm more confident stating that about him than I ever felt when using those words. What Futoshi did is nothing short of demonic, and I sincerely hope that there's an afterlife that's horrific enough to take him once he's finally dead.

death penalty is intentionally slow because if theres any evidence that the person didnt do it, was manipulated / forced, and so on, you can stil go and release it and undo your mistake
if you just kill it asap, you cant magically revive the person
i mean, i do think some bad people like this do deserve it, but changing the system and making things worse for innocents sucks, just for what, to speed up the kill of someone that is unlikely to be a harm to society due to being on death row?
if we go with the guess that 4-5% of the people jailed are there unfairly (which is what i see thrown around a lot) that means 1 out of every 20 people did nothing, so giving time to find evidence that might save those 1/20 is certainly important
people always point out we're paying for criminals to live happily but like, army spends tons and tons of money on a lot of failed projects, like that camo that wasnt useful and costed a lot of millions, some money to potentially give innocent people a chance to be saved from being executed unfairly isnt even that bad

People just leave distressed children on streets to die fearing that talking with them asking what's wrong would make others look at them "funny". Another case where 12 year girl escaped her captor and tried asking help on the street. Was ignored. 2 times! 2 different times of escape... Spineless people.
Thank Christianity for establishing western morals. It's partly why westerners are never going to ignore small children in distress and will risk to "inconvenient" themselves to help others. The negative side of the Japanese proclivity to not to get involved or intervene in others business or family life is very much on display here, if I heard the sounds of someone being tortured I would check up on them even if it meant cutting through their door with an axe, it's not the sort of sound someone can pass off in an innocent way without some sort of horrible accident, in old times things were perhaps less bad as the village style community held a large part of the social life and everyone knew each over very well, the breakdown of that is one of the negative aspects of westernisation.

More criminal things happened there in three years than my whole life is America, especially to me personally. Two ten year olds murdered a child in our neighborhood pond but miraculously it was never on the news. The rape and suicide is out of control. But, this case? It’s hard to imagine him being charming. He looks ornery in every picture. What’s up with his eyebrows? It’s hard to imagine him being a ladies man but I’ll say, it’s pretty obvious he targeted less attractive women in hardship. I hate the victim blaming in Japan. They shouldn’t be ashamed. They’re so quiet. I always screamed at those perverts in Japanese and they sulked away like a defeated insect. I know right!? I've lived in Japan for 13 years (now back home in Canada) and have gotten more details in this 39 min video than all my years in Japan.

@@sootchh4055 I've lived in Japan for over 25 years and have heard of these cases before. If you read only news in English, of course you wouldn't hear them, but if you follow Japanese news, they are reported in detail. I've found that many non-Japanese living here rely on English news, and of course it's not going to go into as much detail as Japanese media does.

@@markv9641 Oh I've always known this case but never really read too much into it because I simply wasn't into true crime stuff back then. I'm actually as fluent in Japanese as I am in English.

@@sootchh4055 I hope you didn't think I was accusing you or anything. I just notice a lot of comments about how Japan doesn't put into press their crimes, how Japanese don't know what is going on in Japan, etc., so wanted to point out that if people only read English news, they're not going to get a very realistic view of what Japanese know about their own country.

Thanks for the details that I haven't heard of elsewhere. I just want to add a small one. When Junko attempted suicide, her parents called an ambulance but asked them to turn off the siren because they didn't want the neighbors to know that there was a drama going on in their family. Saving face had a higher priority than their daughter's safety to them. It seems like this was a bit too much even to the Japanese standard. Not wanting to get embarrassed at all cost was the family's big weakness. And Futoshi understood it and took advantage of it too well.

This is fucking insane, how can grown men let this happen to their family
Also all the neighbors who just don't fucking call the police when they hear fucked up stuff is beyond me this whole thing is.
I wish I could talk to miko and hear her story

Some of the details of this case reminded me of another Japanese movie called Cold Fish, the way the guy is able to work his way into the family and manipulate was very similar. Plus the couple on a killing spree. I thought that film was disturbing and knowing that it was probably inspired by this case makes even more so.

I looked it up and Cold Fish is actually based on a different true story, the murders done by Sekine Gen and Hiroko Kazama. Absolutely crazy.

They did make a story based on this it's on Netflix and it's called "The Forest of love" if you watched Cold Fish it's up that same alley of creepiness.

How fitting, I just finished THE FOREST OF LOVE: DEEP CUT, the Sion Sono miniseries based on this case. Shockingly accurate to the real case, even down to the electrocution and dismembering. How one man could do so much evil and enact so much cruelty is mind-boggling to me, and the fact he didn't even directly kill a single person is even more horrifying.
