The system doesn't need to become outright socialist to tackle this issue: raising the minimum wage is a good idea, making education more accessible and affordable is a good idea, having more community service organizations that provide activities and assist in finding work is a good idea. And I guess I could throw that question backwards, do you feel like it's an issue that there are people working extremely hard yet barely making any income? I personally feel like it is, especially when considering that there are people that have the privilege to be simply handed money through something like an inheritance and not have to work a day in their lives living lavishly while poor people are barely making enough money to provide for their families.
