Dr J (Peterson) Explains What the Soul is | What is Your Identity - Psychologically? Metaphysically?

Jordan Peterson and myself and Aristotle and maybe a couple others answering "what is the soul?" "what is your identity, psychologically? Metaphysically? And stuff like that. Sorry for the botched end and the lackluster video editing on this one, haven't had nearly enough time lately and it's showing in the video production sadly - I'll get everything squared away asap and we'll get back to normal and better videos.

Hahaha, yes - he cracks me up. He's intelligent enough to take even the most complex ideas and break them down Barney style to "ETMLI5", but just to make sure you don't forget that he has the verbal IQ (and you know, IQ-IQ) of a demigod, every now and then he'll pop off with a "automaticity" here and a "dialectical approach being necessary to reconcile phenomenological experiences with ontological questions about the nature of being" there - sends me to Merriam-Webster every other video or so XD

Without the word "soul," there couldn't "be" any religion.
All stories are based on what the soul is thinking, and what the soul is doing, and where the soul came from, and where the soul is going after death of the physical body.
Fortunes have been made by theologians who taught that the soul is a gift from God, and that women must never have abortions, because abortions offend God's gift to humanity.
Evolution of the soul is a huge seller in religion. It means that your soul is ever upgrading and will hopefully soon make the grade of God's "entire" approval of enlightenment and salvation … or … that in the afterlife something horrible could happen to your soul.
If you remove the word "soul" from religion, you will not have anything but ground zero.

I went from wondering if a creator existed to in turn care about us one way or the other ... to believing that it's as possible that humans have souls that will fly away from deceased material bodies, as it is that flies, pigs, tigers, alligators, or any other living creatures have souls that fly away from deceased material bodies.
