That can happen when reasoning is right on spot. Usually even when people don't like something that is true and may require from them an effort they know what is true and what is not but it isn't just about facts we can learn but also about our emotions and inner thoughts which all should be inline with each other. If some things are in conlict with each other, we may not at first know what exactly is wrong, but we do know, that in this as whole something is off. Some people have a better intuition than others, but at some point all of us will see these conflicts.

Wish you all the best for today's and days to come. And ponder on the thought that you are unique, and created with a purpose by a God who knows about every detail, every thought of our mind and who is willingly, lovingly, patiently waiting for all of us to acknowledge Him and believe in Him. At 1:08:27 I was shocked to hear something from Jordan that I have long since suspected that was originally said by Aristotle, well over 2,000 years ago: "Masculine Republics, over time, will become Feminine Democracies. Feminine Democracies, over time, will become tyrannical." I'm 62 years old and have seen it in our education system, watched it in the military, observed it while working in the California Department of Corrections, and got killed by it in a divorce with a "feminist wife." It seems to me that the "wokers" have just about taken it all--except for a few brave souls like JP who reminds me of John The Baptist, yelling at the top of his lungs, like one crying in the wilderness. Bravo Jordan..carry your message to the ends of the Earth. Roy, So Cal. God Bless you sir.

      Amen and Amen.
The majority of listeners have no clue the hell he has put himself through to fulfill his final calling.
He is sounding the battle cry. Our younger generations cannot even begin to think on this level only because they have been indoctrinated not to. It is true no pain no gain yet they are the weakest link. No on seems to take it serious just how stupid high-school seniors are when they graduate compared to a kid from Germany or Japan. Need to learn how to work for what they want from an earlier age. 🙄 Like Jordan says start with just making your bed and build on that. I am 61 on the very tail end of the boomers. My grandfather from Norway was apprenticing in a wood working shop at the age of 8. At the age of 15 he was a crew leader. He could build wagon wheels and turn furniture legs on a lathe faster than anyone there. If WWII were to happen today instead we would be in a heap of trouble.
So preach on Jordan we love you.

If you lost everything in your divorce it's because you're a piece of crap and the judge ordered it to be so
And I know this because I can read and because I have degrees, and simple facts are, that if you're a stand-up guy and you go get a lawyer...... and you fight for everything that you want in your divorce, you're going to get it 60% of the time.........
Yes the simple facts are, that men get everything that they ask for in their divorces 60% of the time....... if they just bother showing up!

He was thinking and evaluating every word that came out of his mind and mouth. He knew the impacts he had with the audience and he knew the burn of giving speeches. Therefore he was very careful with his words. With great power comes great responsibility. Dr Peterson is living by it.

I chose to get there early, so I could sit right beside the question-microphone in the second row of the theatre. It was a great delight to be there in person, then it was even more delightful to ask him questions after the talk, and the next week, I got to watch the lecture again when he put it up on UA-cam...! And yet, I am exceedingly glad spent the $165 to get a seat somewhat close to the stage. This lecture posted on UA-cam is of a far better quality and I suspect Dr Peterson knows this is a superior lecture than the one he gave there in Reading and for that reason posted this lecture. They're dumbfounded at the other choices they have, and are hard pressed to believe their world isn't hopeless. So naturally it's a great relief to hear someone today talk sense, even to a limited degree.
When even half-sincere leaders in politics or philosophy have become this rare, the appreciation of them is naturally magnified to an inverse degree, and will seem like idolatry, but in really isn't: it's just people expressing their relief that someone dares to say to this large of an audience that the emperor has no clothes. It's a reflection of a state of consistent deception as the norm. Otherwise it's not so big a deal to hear someone make sense for once.

Dr Peterson, you are so very close and I want to thank you for finding the path, the way, and helping myself and others along the right direction…
We’ve gotten off the given path, we’ve wandered from the way, we’ve walked away from the truth as given from the beginning by the giver of these things.
We were created to be vessels, dwellings, adobes of His INDWELLING.
His hands, His feet, His eyes, ears, mouth and heart.
Only “Humility” (Andrew Murray) can guide us back to why we’re here, what our purpose is and how to get back on the path.
“This is eternal life, to know Him”
“The goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart, overflowing to others”
Thank you for reminding us and keep up the forward progress in this abyss of “enlightenment “

I remember the first time I actually began to realise just how complex the biblical story was, after being a christian for 8 years , i really didnt know much about how to read genesis and the whole concept of GOD being the one who creates order out of Chaos. When I finally learned how to read the bible, and saw that was the story....i remember feeling so overwhelmed because i didnt know how to explain this story to other people in a way that they understood. how could people understand chaos dragons and monsters and talking serpents as well as the deeper truths the text were trying to communicate. the complexity of these stories, made me hesitate sharing them. And this is why I am so grateful of Jordan Peterson, and His friends. They have taken this story and they are sharing it so beautifully and powerfully in a way so many can understand. and as I listen I am in awe, I see myself being transformed. And not by him , but by the genius ULTIMATE that could conceptualise this story and give it to man , GOD himself. In Pursuit of the White Deer: Jordan Peterson and the Legend of St. Eustace
Ever since Tammy Peterson entered the Catholic Church this Easter, most of Christendom has been engaged in a storm of speculation regarding Dr. Peterson’s spiritual state. Will he, too, follow his wife into the Catholic Church? What does he mean by his chary and seemingly evasive responses to the media storm of questions regarding his beliefs? And rather than contribute to the online fruitless speculation, I would like to follow up on my last essay which depicted Dr. Peterson as a modern day St. Christopher. That essay illustrated Dr. Peterson’s role within Christendom. It is my hope that by relating the story of St. Eustace of Rome, I may shed light on Dr. Peterson’s journey within Christianity. The story of St. Eustace, the second century Christian martyr, is the story of a man who, like Jordan Peterson, was a great seeker called to great works and great suffering.
St. Eustace, who before his conversion was named Placidus, was a great Roman nobleman, a huntsman, and a knight. One day he went out hunting in the dark and mysterious forest outside of Rome. He was seeking more than wild beasts, more than excitement and adventure and danger, something which his tongue could not express in words and of which his mind could form no image. He rode alone, because the huntsman of the unknown must follow a path narrow as the confines of his own body, lonely as his own pain, dark as his own ignorance, and his way is his own way and cannot be shared by another.
The beauty of the forest flowers enchanted him, the melodious birds in the branches sang to him, and the running that could not be seen of skipping beasts gladdened his way. But still he did not know what he sought.
But when at last, he saw it, there could be no mistake: he had found what he was seeking in the form of the most perfect white deer he had ever seen. For one moment, the flashing eyes of the white deer met Placidus’s, for one moment the proud head with its magnificent antlers reared proudly, for one moment the splendid body poised for flight. And then, with a commanding look, the deer was off, silver hoods spurning the forest floor, perfect antlers never entangling in the branches, white body graceful as the flight of a kingfisher. And with a blast on his hunting horn, Placidus and his faithful hunting steed and his trusted hunting dogs were in hot pursuit.
On and on went the wild deer chase through the forest. Placidus knew only that he must pursue that deer until the end, whether that end came in life or in death, in time or in eternity. But he could not catch up. His breath came in ragged gasps. His horse was near foundering. His dogs fell behind, unable to maintain the breakneck pace.
And then, without warning, the ground rose steeply and before Placidus a mighty rock face towered. Effortlessly, the white deer bounded up the mountain as though possessed of wings. But Placidus could not follow. He reigned in his horse and bowed his head. The great huntsman was beaten at his own game.
At the moment of Placidus’s deepest dark night of the soul, the miracle happened that would change his life forever. The deer stopped and turned to face him. The antlers atop the proud head formed into the shape of a Cross, with a crucified figure upon it, the strange symbol of the Christians which Placidus had often seen, wondered briefly about, and then as briefly dismissed from his thoughts. But there was no dismissing this powerful vision that had been sent to him.
There was only one thing to do and Placidus did it. He leaped from his horse and fell to his knees. And a voice cried out, echoing through the forest,
“Placidus, why do you attempt to injure me? I am Jesus Christ, whom you have long served in ignorance. Do you believe in me?”
Placidus answered the only way he knew how: “Lord, I believe.”
The voice that responded was low and foreboding. “Many sorrows will you endure for my sake, many temptations will assail you, but be of good courage, I will always be with you.”
Placidus knew in that moment that although his pursuit of the white deer had come to an end, so the vision of the cross was beckoning him on to a new pursuit, a fresh journey, one that would cost him not less than everything but for which he would gladly give all that he had.
“Lord, I am content. Only give me patience to endure all things for thee.”
St. Eustace did give all that he had for the vision of the crucified Christ. He lost his wealth and his position in the Roman Empire, and was in the end burned at the stake by the order of the Emperor Hadrian.
And it was by giving all that he had, down to the last drop of his heart’s blood, that he answered the question that Jordan Peterson asks us lukewarm and complacent Christians today: “What do you mean when you say you believe?”
And perhaps, instead of going into the high fantods about Dr. Peterson’s alleged obfuscation, we might ask ourselves that question. Dark times are upon us and those times are going to get much darker before the day break, and the shadows flew away. And as the darkest hours come upon us, it is not going to be mere lip service to our creeds that will sustain us. Dr. Peterson knows this; and perhaps, instead of living up to our reputation for protesting as we good and faithful Protestants do, we might reconsider whether or not we have honestly earned the right of access to Jordan Peterson’s most private inner spiritual life, and instead, consider our own. Jordan Peterson’s path, as Placidus’s path, is narrow as the confines of his own body, lonely as his own pain, dark as his own ignorance, and his way is his own way and cannot be shared by another. And so it is for each of us. And perhaps the Christian faith would be better served if we each answered in our own souls: what do we mean by “believe?”
Author’s Note: As I wrote this essay, I had open upon my lap an old copy of Elizabeth Goudge’s WWII novel The Pilgrim’s Inn, and it is from those yellowed pages that I paraphrased in my own words the story of St. Eustace. It’s a great book! Read it!

Dr. Peterson's commentary on the Fall hits a ditch right at the end: Adam isn't hiding from God because he's "inadequate" or "shameful" by nature (as if God created Adam that way) but because Adam knows he's done something God didn't want him to do -- that sin is now part and parcel of Adam's being, so if God were to see him in his nakedness, God would see that sin. It's a common feeling: When people know they've sinned, they fear being exposed (i.e., naked).

Internet is a blessing indeed. It's almost impossible to find yourself in audience to such talks/ conversations like this. A profoundly tiny minority of people want to explore things to their depth or try to do so. So, I really appreciate that we can at least listen to speeches like this as the probability of finding yourself within one of these are significantly low..

I like how much information was presented succinctly and in such a structured way.
This lecture could be viewed as a biblical sermon and I usually avoid such because I feel like many are redundant and ignore arguments in order to cast the message in a positive light like some kind of door to door sales pitch. That kind of act really makes me skeptical of the truth of the matter and the aim of the speaker involved.
This one however was wonderful. It stayed on point and delivered a powerful and important observations. I appreciate your work and thank you for making it available to the public.
