Jesus is the only way. We have all sinned and deserve Hell. Sins that may seem small in our eyes are big in God's and are worthy of Hell, such as lying lusting and stealing. • @Roozyj
      @Roozyj 11 місяців тому +27

Same! To me, Ecclesiastes talks about just enjoying your days on earth, while still keeping a healthy and balanced lifestyle. And yeah, sure, he also says we can't know anything for sure... but honestly, isn't that just the same as the other books telling us to believe in God, since we are just small humans in his big plan?

    • @kimbirch1202
      @kimbirch1202 11 місяців тому +10

Bodies are transient, but our God given nature as eternal spirit is not.
" it is the Spirit that gives life; the flesh counts for nothing " teaches Jesus.
      Bodies do NOT contain life.
If they did then eternal life would be impossible, obviously.

    • @kimbirch1202
      @kimbirch1202 11 місяців тому +3

      That's a very good point.
The whole meaning of the Kingdom of Heaven is that it does not change, like everything in this world.
It is constant and not subject to time, which is an illusion.
Only what doesn't change can be depended upon.
Neither can the ever changing be real, which is why it is impossible that God could have created this world.
God's Kingdom is entirely spiritual, which means non - material, and can not be perceived with the senses of the body.
Yet the mind CAN know the Kingdom, which Jesus teaches is already within our minds.
Yet, we are mesmerised by meaningless images, such as bodies that do not contain life.

Its good that you have an open mind, searching for the truth. Lots are hardened and dont want to hear the truth. I do ask however, do you know the gospel?
Anyway, there is one way to absolutely know if God is real. Ask him something like "God, if you are real please reveal yourself to me". I guarantee he will.
Matthew 7:7-8 - Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened
Jeremiah 29:13 - You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
Hebrews 11:6 - But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Mark 11:23 - Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.
I personally have had a revelation from God. When i was a teenager i went to a christian youth camp. On the first night i had a dream, i heard the lord speak and i saw "acts 2:17". I had never heard this scripture before then. I looked it up later and this is what it said:
‘In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
Ever since then i hear the Lord in dreams and visions at night. If you truly seek God you will find him, just have faith. God is listening.

I have grown up in an agnostic family with some hardcore Roman Catholic relatives (I live in a part of Italy that's very religious) and never had a Bible at home, and I was only familiar with the Genesis stories, most of Exodus (thanks to Prince of Egypt) and some random bits from the gospels. This video kindled some interest in it in me, and made me want to get a copy (for personal reading, that is.)
EDIT: I'm taking the challenge to read the Bible as an agnostic because I enjoy the narrative and the imagery, as well as a way to understand much of the art that surrounds me, and for its historical and cultural values. I still respect those who read it differently than me and use it for worshipping, and I hope this little thing I added doesn't cause any misunderstanding.

      1. Is there only one god, or are there multiple gods? If multiple, how is a person to choose which deserves obedience?
      2. Would you agree that before anything can exist, something has to create it?
Did your god create everything? If yes, who/what created your god?
      3. Is your god infallible?
      4. Is your god omnipotent?
      5. Is your god omniscient?
      6. Is your god benevolent, or malicious?
      7. If your god cannot make mistakes, then it follows that everything it creates is either perfect, or that your god intentionally makes things that are flawed. Would a benevolent god intentionally create something likely to suffer because of its flaws?
      8. If your god can do anything, and it created the universe, why didn't it simply create a perfect world inhabited by perfect beings? If your god wanted obedience, and god is not malicious, why did god make disobedience possible?
      9. If your god knows everything, does it already understand every thought and feeling you have? Does it instantaneously know everything you say and do? If yes, what is the point of religious rituals, such as prayer?
      10. Why would an omnipotent and omniscient god not communicate directly and unambiguously with individuals, with no need of books, churches, prophets, signs, miracles, etc?
If a person is not intelligent enough, or not "worthy" enough to speak directly with god, whose fault is that? Who made the person in the first place? If a person is unworthy or incapable of directly communicating with god, how can that person be capable of recognizing a valid spokesperson for god?
      11. Think about the person/people who convinced/persuaded/ordered you to believe in a version of god. Are they infallible? Is it at all possible for them to tell you something they sincerely believe, but for that thing they tell you to be actually incorrect?
      12. Are feelings reliable tools to guide actions? Suppose I hear a person in my neighborhood talking a lot about the presence of violent break in robberies nearby, and I get apprehensive. I am convinced by the passion my neighbor puts into this story, even though I've seen no tangible evidence. That night, I hear a noise. I FEEL certain that it is a robber breaking in to harm my family. I get out of bed, pull a pistol from the bedside table. Without opening the bedroom door, I shoot through it to get the robber. When I open the door, there is my son, lying dead on the floor from my bullet. I was sure. I relied on my feelings. My fear of a robber. My hope of being a defender father. Feelings, not facts. Was that a good way to live my life?
      14. Do you deny that religion (superstition, irrational behavior) is the root cause of most human conflict in history, that for centuries millions have been tortured and murdered "because god told me to do it"? That is why 9/11 happened, because "god hates the infidels". All religion is irrational, and irrationality is the root of all evil.
      13. Suppose a person has a book full of maps to guide a group journey. They rely upon it, but the group is perpetually lost.
You question the book, but your friend insists that the book is accurate. "How do you know?" you ask. They reply, "I know that this book is accurate and perfect, because it says so in the book."
Your friend insists that the book is information from god.....but some other people wrote the book, based on their interpretations...why? Why didn't god write the book personally? How could information possibly become more accurate and truthful when filtered thorough con men?.....but that is okay, because of how passionately they shout about their version of the books, and how strongly it makes your friend feel.
When you show them hundreds of self contradictions in the book, they get upset and say that you are just not reading the book correctly.
Which person is messed up? You, or the book fanatic?
How do you justify cherry picking which parts of the bible to follow? Leviticus?
      14. If the point is to die and go to heaven, why not simply commit mass suicide and get it over with?
Christ was quite literally a kamikaze; is that what you preach should be emulated in daily life?
      15. Why is it necessary to use superstition and irrationality to justify your practical principles?
Why treat humans like a donkey in need of the stick of hell and the carrot of heaven? If you want positive secular behavior, why not justify that behavior in practical secular terms?
If you "only follow Jesus and only care about Jesus", well who does JESUS follow, obey and care about?
The father who led him to be tortured and murdered.
The insane vicious sadist who caused all misery DELIBERATELY.
Religion is an evil scam that preys upon the desperate, the weak and the stupid.

      1. There is one god, Jesus Christ
      2. Yes, the eternal god, who always has been, created all of creation. Yes he did, but god is eternal, he has never started, and he will never end. He is always, he is never, he is everything and he is all.
      3. No, he never failed, and he never will
      4. Yes, he can do anything but fail
      5. Yes, he knows all hearts, all sins, all rights, and all minds
      6. God is a righteous god, he does as he sees fit
      7. God created creation with free will, so that their love for him is genuine, not fake. An example is that Lucifer thought he could be better than god because God gave him free will. God has no flaws, creation, since it has free will is likely to be corrupted, giving us sin.
      8. Because if everything was perfect, than there would be no need for salvation, there would be no need for love, because there would be no free will.
      9. Yes, God knows our heart and knows what will happen no matter what we do, but as said before, we have free will, and for good things to happen, we need God.
      10. Because just as the government doesn’t say ear to ear the laws, they write them down so it is clear what is right and what is wrong. No one is unworthy to have god, but when God directly speaks audibly to us, it usually means he’s calling us to something, or sanctifying us. He will not do that until we have salvation.
      11. My entire life I walked the life of a church boy, never once in those days did I ever feel like a christian, simply a church kid. When I felt God, it was on my own account, not my parents, not my pastor, it was me and my Lord
      12. No, we are human and because of our free will, we are imperfect, the Lord is perfect, his teachings and his way can guide us a hundred miles without stumbling whilst we can only go a few feet. We are allowed to defend our families by risking our lives, it is the ultimate form of love because it is how our lord Jesus died for us. Repenting after something like that is important, as even though you saved your family, you took a life.
14 (pt 1). Sin is the root of all evil, God and his plan is the one true way. If we followed him perfectly, there would be no war. Adolf Hitler is a major starter for WW2 and he didn’t say God told him to. Islam extremists want blood split as it is what they believe is right. The bible does not say to kill for the name of god, it says to turn a cheek at such things.
      13. Comparing the Bible, which is the story of God’s plan for humanity, showing us what he can do for us, how our faith determines our fate, and how we can repent because we are saved is in no way comparable to a map giving directions. A map is interpretable, the bible is the Word. Here’s a good way to get past the cherry picking, read the bible. It’s a long journey, and it one I need to cross for my own journey.
      14. Christ came to earth to show us how to live, he did no wrong, and the world hated that. Jesus said, “If there is any other way, lord, let it be done. Your will, not mine [PARAPHRASE]” He died on the cross and came back three days later. If we commit suicide, we go to hell, as we commit multiple sins without repentance. We kill a child of god, we lose all faith in God’s plan for us, and we defile a temple of the lord.
      15. Superstitions and irrationality are not comparable here. The lord ravaged Egypt with plague when they disobeyed him, as he did with the Israelites. No irrationality comes from that. What religion are you speaking of, for the Christ I know treats people as his children, not donkeys. It isn’t about moral standards, it’s about God wanting his people in his kingdom, which is why we follow Him. I’m sorry church has made you feel that way, it made me hurt too, but Christ is not why we hurt, it’s the sin of our world. It only showcases more reasons why we need him. If you cannot see that, then look harder, because it’s there.

What really floored me once I choose to read the entire Bible was the apephanies that came to me as I read . I read a chapter , digest what I read for a couple hours , and the meaning just lays out in my mind. I have to go preach a short sermon to family members to clear my head for the next reading. I believe that keeping in touch with family is important; but I’ll go days without talking to them. Then, all it take is one little thing to spark the reminder of: “Oh yeah…I could lose my loved ones at any time.” And then I change my behavior to be more conscious of that’l awareness and I call them. Even the smallest thing can cause a spark to remind us of the really important things we so often forget or dismiss.
Stop twisting others’ words in an attempt to insult or embarrass them. It only serves to showcase your incompetence and desperation since you can’t find a solid foundational issue to confront them with.

Although sin began in heaven - in the angel realm.
      Basically, out of nowhere...
And pride does not, so far, explain it.
That does not lead to instantly delusional, futile, unhinged choices?
      Not even for angels.
If 'iniquity was found' in them - was it not more or less, built in?

@@chrissonofpear1384 When it comes to His intelligent creatures whether the angels in heaven or humans on earth, our Creator did not make us as robots so that we can only do exactly what He tells us to do. It would be like someone who programmed a computer to say 'I love you' at different times during the day. That message would mean nothing since the machine is only following its programming.
Our Creator gave both angels and humans free will/choice so we can enjoy the blessings of life that He gave us.
Of course, God would like us to use our free will wisely which includes a meaningful relationship with Him.
This was the case with the angel that became known as Satan. He was serving God faithfully for probably millions of years after his creation. When God created the earth and our first parents, that angel felt that he was someone special and that the first human couple should serve him. That led to Adam and Eve disobeying a simple command from God and joining Satan's rebellion against our Creator. Doing so also "damaged" themselves with sin that they passed on to their children like a genetic defect, causing the history of mankind to be such a mess as history has shown and as we see today.
The Bible book of James says it best where the following was recorded in chapter 1 and verses 13 through 15 of that book: "When under trial, let no one say: "I am being tried by God." For with evil things God cannot be tried, nor does he himself try anyone. But each one is tried by being drawn out and enticed by his own desire. Then the desire, when it has become fertile, gives birth to sin; in turn sin, when it has been carried out, brings forth death."

This is very interesting. I was raised completely and utterly without any religion so it's all very foreign to me, but over the past year I've really started to examine a lot of the nastiness (putting it very lightly) in society and how it reaaaally seems to be correlated with people ignoring or outright despising religion (specifically Christianity) so I've wanted to look into it more and more. It seems the further we drift from faith the more immoral, selfish and downright savage people seem to become. Or, like myself previously, they fill the void with the worshiping of politics, or others with money, with fame, all sorts of dead ends and false prophets.
My friend got me an amazing KJV Bible with all sorts of maps and a dictionary, beautiful leather binding, and it's been intimidating to try to get into and understand. I've also been off-put by the fact that whenever I try to express that confusion in online spaces I have found many Christians that just belittle me for not already being like them and it isn't super encouraging. The people in this comments section seem much more accepting.
Whether people decide to believe in the words of the Bible as the word of God or not, it is undeniably, unequivocally the best set of moral guidelines and ethics humanity has ever had, and we seem to really degenerate without it.

It is a translation meant to be as faithful and blunt as possible using modern English as to make it easier to understand. It can be very blunt at times as much of the poetic wording is sacrificed in exchange for accuracy and readability but it is very useful as a study tool

@@RunawayYe He is incredibly biased here too. If you go to 10:17 , he says that Zephaniah 3:17-19 is indicative of the Trinity as both first and third-person is used. He uses verses 17 and 19, but not 18. The reason for this is because verse 18 starts with quotation marks. This shows that verse 17 is a third-person pov and verse 19 is directly quoting God. Such a convoluted attempt at harmonising the late tradition of the Trinity.

Just to let you know, this video misses a bunch of books. There are books of the Bible that are from texts that the apostles and Christ would have read, were read by Christians for 1500 years, until the Protestant revolution when they decided to remove these books as they taught things inconvenient to the ideology they wanted to corrupt Christianity with.
      1 and 2 Macabees
      Sirach
      Wisdom
      Baruch

Potential Spoiler: I really liked the pictographic triangles for each book. Before I saw the end, I was wondering if these were some system of biblical pictographs I had never seen before, but then it made sense at the end collage. That's a great way to visually explain the bible, everything is its own piece, but put them together and the big picture appears: The Word. The fact it looks like stained glass makes it that much better!

What about those who don't follow a religion but act with kindness, respect, and have never broken a single cardinal sin?
