Almost cried hearing, “I realised that my story, just like the story of every believer is a story about God trying to find me”. I had this exact same realisation too. Every experience that I had and life decision that I had made in the lead up to me becoming a Christian is evidence of God drawing me closer to Him, rather than it being a choice that I made for myself. If someone told me this time last year that I’d stop being a long-time agnostic and become a devout Christian, I’d have laughed in their face.
And those who aren’t saved (/ aren’t going to be saved) God isn’t trying to find. I guess that’s opposed to Arminianism saying God is searching for those who aren’t saved (/going to be saved) but some deny the salvation (deny Gods pull I guess). I can’t wait till I’m decided on this topic lol (maybe that point won’t come idk)
@@ZachFish- Arminianism isn't really a thing. It's really just Calvinism (a new interpretation and church founded in the 1500's) vs Christianity. Jacobus Arminius happened to take up the role of arguing for what most people already believed for 1500 years. If your a minority group and you want to attain more credibility for your cause, it's really effective to repackage the argument as one of between two equal choices. Calvinists were able to do just that. They reframed Arminius' arguments as if he were representing new ideas that he came up with vs. Calvin who also had some new ideas. Instead of David vs Goliath, it's Coke vs. Pepsi. Masterful marketing. In reality, all of the verses Calvinism relies on have easy explanations as to how it's referring to corporate election, not personal election, meanwhile predestination undercuts the entire foundation of the purpose of the creation and our role in it. Easy choice.
And, yet, if you (and Redeemed Zoomer) lived in a different zipcode, you would have the same revelations... but they would involve joining Islam, Buddhism, or Hinduism. But I like this guy because he, at least, isnt one of the christians of hate who use their religion as tribal weapon to harm others.
@@AR15andGODYeeaa. I was kinda shocked how people could believe Calvinism to be true, then I understood it a little more and started leaning more towards that way (a lot of smart studied believers start going that way) but I’m at the point now where I’m thinking “somehow both have to be true but that’s impossible”. Anyhoo, I’m leaning towards Arminianism again but convinced Calvinism has to be true inside of that for at least some people (Paul for example). I’m bout to read Nicholas Cambells book (Christ is the cure) on the two views, should be a really solid read.
@@ZachFish- I don't think its impossible for both to be true, I think the term is antimony, the idea that two (seemingly) mutually exclusive things are true at the same time. Its the case with the trinity, how can God be one and three persons? And Christ being both 100% man and 100% God. You should look up "Understanding Antinomy: A Key to Peace in the Calvinism Debate?". I would say that's the closest to where I land in the debate. There's also a great quote from CS Lewis' Perelandra that I really like too: "Ransom could not, for the life of him, see any difference between these two statements [whether Ransom had completely lost his free will or whether he had been completely freed from any outside influence]. Predestination and freedom were apparently identical." I would say that just as animals exist in a state below reason, so too some things must be understood in a state above reason :) Hopefully that helps
True, I was a Baptist then Seventh Day Adventist & eventually reverted back to Catholicism (Funny since the SDA church believes the Papacy is the antichrist & I now praise the Papacy after formally condemning it.)
@@CatholicWeeb My initial irks with catholicism were specifically with the idea of the papacy, since I grew up my whole life being taught that the papacy was evil incarnate. However, after coming to understand the role of the papacy and learning more about its powers and limitations I realized that it's often mischaracterized too much. I'm glad I went catholic and I plan on starting my confirmation process within this year.
@greglejacques1094 how about instead of acting like a witless internet fedora atheist troll you respond my comment and have an actual conversation/debate with me ? ...
"My reason for being a socialist was the same as most 14-year-olds' reason for being a socialist, which is that I thought the soviet anthem sounded really cool." 🤣🤣
I came upon your channel by accident. I was saved last year at 29 years old. Go to a Baptist church. I've been considering visiting a LCMS or PCA church because of your videos. Been study theology lately. Appreciate your effort
I went to middle school in New York, everyone was and still is Anti-Christian towards me when I lived there. I still kept my faith and continued to worship even when people looked down on me. I won’t ever give up my faith for anyone, I am so glad that I was able to leave New York and find a better place with better people.
@greglejacques1094 1. By pride, we mean being happy and proud of being a christian, not believing in superiority, just satisfaction. 2. Christofascism is a fundamentally Fascist Ideology, not a fundamentally christian one, its christian fascism, not fascist christianity.
@greglejacques1094 Christians are, in 'woke' leftist areas, often made out to be bigots and are often ostracized for their lack of complete compliance with woke ideology. \ Why are you so toxic towards christians exactly?
@greglejacques1094 Ephesians 6:5 is about the relations between a slave and master, in which Paul tells us to be obedient. It has nothing to do with Fascism. This same chapter also calls masters to be kind to their slaves. Also, Tammuz was one of the lovers of Ishtar in Sumerian myth, nothing to do with Christ. Finally, our god is not fear and violence, in-fact, our God explicitly calls us to be *nonviolent*

I’m not sure if you know of the UA-camr Wendigoon? He is an openly Christian UA-camr (though his content isn’t focused on religion) and I believe he is a Sunday school teacher too. Both he and you, while neither of you are Catholics, have reaffirmed my faith and to learn more about the beliefs. His religious-focused videos are my favorites and it’s heartwarming to see him get emotional when reading scripture or works inspired by it (like Paradise Lost and Regained). So thanks to both of you!
@@prod.mohomidyeah check out his videos on biblical stuff. He has a few on apocryphal books, and also some on literature like Dante’s divine comedy. His video on paradise lost is absolutely beautiful.
@@yeetusvanitas9800I actually saw him post those videos but didn’t watch because I was worried about getting my theology from a weirdo. Imma check those vids out now tho !!!
It's wild to see how young your audience is, based on the comments it's mostly teenage boys struggling to find their place in the world. As a slightly older 20-something who never lost the faith (though as anyone who knows me can tell you, I've a long road to reach holiness, God help me), I have some simple advice for all you young men: Never give up! Not on yourself or the faith. If you fail by sinning miserably at something, or if something horrible outside of your control happens to you, don't do anything reckless. You mustn't let your shame or your anger let you do something you'll regret even more. When hard times come, the best thing to do is "take the L" and soldier on. That doesn't mean do it alone, for indeed the Church, the heavenly host, and the Lord Himself is with you should you seek righteousness and rest. If you sinned and then suffered its result, repent of it, confess if you are able, and do better for everyone's sake. If something completely out of your control happened, the wisest thing to do is accept whatever occured with humility and perseverance to continue doing good, as Job did. That's easier said than done, but in my experience it's easier to leave the uncontrollable things in God's hands; Perhaps it may have been out of your control then, but by God's grace you may find a way later to bring it under your control for the sake of everyone, like the doctors (many of whom were Christian) that developed vaccines for smallpox and eradicated it. Keep the words of *1 Timothy 4:12* close to your heart: "Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity."
Also, please don't be an "internet Christian" that hops around claiming to be different denominations (or more horrifyingly, different religions entirely) as the whim strikes you while continuing in your sins. I know this is especially hard for boys raised by the Internet more than their parents, but cruelty towards others on the Internet (yes even when it's funny and/or the people you're mocking are massive sinners/hypocrites themselves) is still sin. I was never a "net Christian", but I am having to repent of being cruel online despite knowing better. Love your enemies, and have some genuine conviction in your beliefs, even if they are ecumenical in the Christian sense and you aren't ready to sincerely commit to a church. Woe betide anyone who blurs the line between Christendom and pagan or misotheist doctrines. Don't even get me started on what is/isn't heresy beyond the essentials, we'll be here arguing nuances and semantics until the Second Coming.
When I first found your channel, I was (and still am) a new Christian. I watched your first couple videos thinking “I don’t have to listen to this guys conservative views, after all, I’m only here to watch him explain the fundamentals and build a Church.” Something about watching you disagree with the pride flag while building a church in a laggy Minecraft server was funny at first. But soon I realized that you were actually extremely logical and knowledgeable. Now I agree with you on the things I used to laugh at. Never leave, Redeemed Zoomer. Also, if it weren’t for you, I probably would’ve converted to Islam instead, so thanks for that.
hi, i just wanna say thank you for these videos and this channel i am a 14 year old christian, and i’ve never really been connected with or actually made an effort to understand/participate in my religion in the past. your videos have taught me about christianity and inspired me and my family to go to church again 💗
@@CatholicWeeb @BoilerBall3094 I would recommend looking at church history and Catholic theology. It doesn't line up with Scripture and unless it is strictly faith alone, which the catholic church says is false, you cannot be saved. Now there are saved catholics, however I would only suggest you look into catholic doctrine and what they teach as well as read the counsels and how the catholic church has changed over the years!
Your channel probably was what made me an actual Christian, I have been raised non-denominational (More accurately Charismatic Baptist) but never really found footing in my faith. I have always been incredibly interested in science and evolution, which often led me near the point of total atheism (Though, mostly thanks to my very conservative (But not Christian) Father, I was always right of center). Eventually I found your channel and really began to develop an interest in Theology (which stemmed from my preexisting interest in Philosophy, even read a little, tiny bit of Kant) and I eventually found myself being a Lutheran, recently I even began to attend an NALC church. I do in-fact hope to get baptized soon, hopefully in that church. I do also have the problem of being in a suburb of Philadelphia, which is practically just as liberal as your area, and I often feel that in school I face similar trials to the ones you describe. Of my friends, the vast majority are Atheist or Agnostic, and only 1 is actually right of center like me. But seeing as im an Autistic, Nerdy, and Abrasive middle schooler, they are all I have and I hope to convert them. (man i really had to get that last bit out) God bless you and keep you. Luke P.
As a conservative Christian living in Los Angeles, I relate to your plight! It’s OK to have a diverse group of friends though, just make sure you hold true to your values, which it sounds like you will. And who knows, if you can lead by example in your friend group, your faith and the Holy Spirit living in you could be enough to convert and eventually save them.
I’ll tell you the same things I always told my high school students in Sunday school in a LCMS congregation. Nothing is more sure than your salvation in Baptism. Nothing is more sure than the grace that comes to you from the Sacrament of the Altar. Nothing is more sure than the forgiveness spoken to you in Holy Absolution. We don’t convert anyone. We simply share God’s Word, and he does all the work.
I'm a life long (71 years) Calvinist and am deeply grieved by the reformed churches' shift of emphasis away from the catechisms, creeds, music, and overall and solemnity for God towards a more casual, informal, and contemporary approach to worship. There is one in Sanford, Florida--ST. Andrews (PCA)--but that's about the only one have found in the last 30 years. It is refreshing to hear a young person looking for the same thing! Thank you for giving me a reason to hope. May God bless your UA-cam ministry.
We sang “hold the fort” in church today so your discussion about how the historical mainline churches are the fortresses of the kingdom really resonated.
I am a young Gen Z person such as yourself, and I can’t help but find similarities within our journeys. I believe things have been a easier for me as I live in a country where there are plenty of Christians [also plenty only in name]. I’ve also had a couple of agnostic friends through highschool. It amazes me however how you seem to have a deeper understanding of Christian theology than I do. Through the years I’ve found myself becoming more and more engaged with theology, and finding you on the internet is most certainly a blessing. I hope to learn more from you brother. I hope we continue to grow in our faith.
Thank you for sharing your testimony. It's a small relief to know we all were not only living in sin, but living in *cringe* before becoming Christians. I went from being an aggressive atheist to almost symbolically agnostic after my very close friend converted (I loved him and didn't want to cause a rift between us). After being fascinated with the Bible and starting to listen to apologetics (including one Redeemed Zoomer), I slowly became a believer in April 2023, and Sundays, not Fridays, are now the days I cherish most in the week.
I’m baffled as to how you can present and speak complex information so clearly while playing a video game! Your ability to focus on multiple things is insane
GenX, engineer here and during covid, I went from being a very liberal agnostic to a slightly conservative Christian. I don't necessarily agree with all of your assertions, but your logical arguments are food for thought and I love your channel, as well as you sharing your personal story. I loved the line about the journey being God looking for you. That really made me pause and smile, as I am on that journey and your channel is a quality step. 🙏
This channel really has helped me reaffirm my faith in Christ. I was never a die hard Christian, I still don’t think I am, but I know I was questioning my faith for a little bit, and your videos helped with that.
Dude you are word for word just like me, I play viola, I think Bach is the best composer ever. I was an atheist for many years and when I did come to Christianity I said the exact same things you did lol, however your a few years ahead of my progression I’m only just now separating Judaism and Christianity in my head. Thankyou this video is like a roadmap for me almost.
I appreciate the vulnerability and the information. I learned a lot. Although I have some beliefs that differ, I enjoy listening to how you arrived to your faith and why you’re so grounded in it.
25:37 "at the time I would play Minecraft while listening to sermons" I am currently listening to you while playing terraria. Great channel keep it up👍
As a dane i can honestly relate to you so much. I only know a few Christians, but i feel that being in a minorty really helps you grow in your faith. God Bless brother.
It truly is. I Know a Danish orthodox friend and the community of Christians in denmark(especially orthodox) is much warmer than in majority christian countries like Georgia
This channel really drove it home for me that I wasn’t alone in my walk, and it made me smile when I realized that being “Christian” to being Agnostic, to being a Theologically Liberal Methodist, to eventually fighting against the flesh to return to Christ, to where I am now in my walk. I lost a lot of friends along the way, God took them out of my life to make room for people whom he knew I needed in my life. I also had all those same things along the way til I reached the point where I am at as a Reformed Baptist: Those things being stuff such as PragerU and Ben Shapiro, etc. Between my Pastor, my good friend Josh, channels like yours, and my girlfriend entering my life almost 3 years ago, I have become strong in my faith. Thanks for being part of my walk Zoomer.
The social ostracization is really sad. I think all of us have experienced it at some point, but going through it the way you did, man that's tough. My heart went out to you. Praise to you for standing on your faith. Prayers for you, RZ, thanks for all you do.
@@Goldenroses930 Interesting. Do you not believe the people relating stories of being ostracized for their beliefs? Or do you simply believe that it's fine? My son was removed from a class function and threatened with punishment by his school because he said that he disagreed with gay marriage, when asked, based upon his own faith. Would you consider that being persecuted for a belief? Is it acceptable for authorities to do it?
@@Goldenroses930 oh okay, so your issue isn't with people being persecuted - in fact you support it! It's that you only want certain people to be persecuted, and not others, and you claim the right to choose who gets what. Are you God? If not, where does your authority come from?
Hi Redeemed Zoomer. I loved listening to your story. I work as a summer camp councilor, where my job is to basically share Jesus with elementary and middle school kids. It can get discouraging at times because you just don’t know if the spark you lit will grow or be snuffed out when the kids leave camp. There’s always a fear that your seeds won’t land among good soil so to speak. Listening to your story is super encouraging, and let’s us know that yes, the work we do in the lives of middle schoolers does have an impact, even if we can’t see the fruits of our labor.
I really love your videos. I’m not at all new to Christianity, I’ve been a Christian for 10 years or so but I’ve just now started diving deeper into the theologies with your help! A piece of advice I’ll give you for the many you have given me is this: practice in faith is the building block of all our beliefs, don’t get to involved with the way of the world and let God prove to you by your faith that he will make all right in YOUR world.
I really respect you and your journey of growth and spiritual development. It takes a lotta courage to do what you did, and even if we don’t see eye to eye on everything I can definitely say I respect you and all you’ve been through to get to where you are now. I wish you and yours nothing but the best going forward!
You have become the channel I look forward to listening to the most. I've learned so much listening to you, and I feel even stronger in my faith. Also really appreciate that you're a calvinist. Calvinism theology also helped grow my faith and love towards God. Keep up the good work!
I started my theological journey this month. But im still looking for the right denomination... If anyone has tipps for looking, questioning etc. and finding the right denomination for me, feel free to share. And thank you for your videos, you are a great content creator and helper in my journey. God bless you!
Same here brother. I’m leaning more Catholic. I was baptized as an infant under the RCC. At the age of 5 I was raised a evangelical for 15 years. Broke apart from that and went rogue for 8-9 years. Now 31, I started my theological journey a year ago and I’m leaning more to being Catholic. Good luck on your journey. God Bless!
Prayer. Prayer is the answer. Ask God for wisdom and he will give it to you. Just remember whichever denomination you end up with that we are all brothers/sisters in christ. Don't let minor differences turn you against another believer.
I also recommend the catholic church, at least as a starting point. It's got tradition, sacraments, catechism (which is an easy and helpful way to start studying theology, although it obviously focuses on the Catholic belief) and, of course, the Holy Bible, like all churches. But anyways, I also recommend praying. Pray for God to guide you throughout this journey, it's all about Him after all. Fasting can help your prayer. God bless you!
I grew up in NYC. What you’re saying is true. When I joined the army, I met religious Christian’s that seemed like good people with good values. I got along with them better than I did with the other people from the northeast. It took a long time for me to come to terms with the fact that we got along because we shared common values, unlike how you describe people back in the NY suburbs.
Wow. I am that sheltered kid you talked about not being; I grew up in an evangelical church, went to a Christian private school, and my entire family is Christian. Hearing how profoundly anti-Christian everyone around you in New York was honestly scares me. That’s a whole ‘nother level of godlessness that I never imagined America could reach. I thank God that you found the truth and that God used those hard things so that you could develop that much stronger a faith in Him, brother! Love your videos and really enjoyed hearing your journey to faith. It seems like we share a lot in common (I play piano!), but we started from opposite places in life. That’s Providence in action right there that could bring us together from such wildly different places into shared unity through Christ!
You can believe in whatever higher power you want, but you should not forget your desire justice, equality and compassion. You should love and respect those different from you. Gay and trans people exist and there is no good reason to discriminate against them; systemic inequalities are many and it is our moral duty to fix them through politics. The problem that "leftists" have with you is not with your religion, but the fact that you use it as justification for invalidating other people's experiences.
If you are being truthful, then you should have no problem with us affirming the biblical teachings on sexuality. Something tells me "Fix them through politics" is just another euphemism for the authoritarian that inhabits the core of every Leftist.
I am a non-believer who recently had a spiritual experience. Out of desperation I prayed to Jesus in a time of immense hardship, and against all the odds (trust me, unfathomable odds) my prayers were answered. This has left me wanting to learn more and start a journey toward God, but the Churches themselves are an obstacle. I didn't have a Presbyterian experience, or a Baptist experience, just an experience of Jesus. How am I meant to figure out which denomination to go with and which is heresy? All I trust at this time is the experience I had, which didn't speak to infant v adult baptism, or any other of the controversies between denominations. Point is, why should I take any particular Church's word for it on these issues? My newfound faith was discovered personally between me and God, not through the Church. This makes me feel like I need to go on a very personal journey of discovery, not dogmatically stick to any particular denomination. Focus on Christ as the first authority. This whole ordeal has me thinking that the divisions among Christians are a big issue, which Christ would abhor. I guess my question is why should I just take a particular Church's view on contentious issues instead of looking to scripture and Christ?
Regarding your question, I believe you should definitely read the Bible first and pray to God on which denomination to be a part of(Lutheran,Presbyterian, etc). You need to look in scripture first. God bless you❤
It's crazy how we have a really similar testimony (except mine is more recent and ongoing) I mean I grew up in a small Christian town but I moved to a leftist city when I was 11, and it seemed only the gays would except me there, but I literally was a marxist, had an emo phase, dated an atheist, claimed to be panromantic, and for a day genderfluid but it just felt wrong. I wanted to convert to Islam for a week or so and then I cried and felt like that was blaspheming our sweet sweet Yahweh (I couldn't 've cared less about Jesus at the time ) (8th grade was pure drama) of course at the point where I wanted to be Muslim I considered more conservative ideologies started watching redeemed zoomer discovered therians which made me decide transgenderism is silly. And this was like March this year so for literally 3 months Satan's ideology and gods kingdom battled for me and ultimately God won me over. It was a hot mess of a year but I can say truly after I have been baptised 12 days ago I have the holy spirit.
I wish i could sit down face to face and have a chat with you. Ive grown up in a small southern town and have been surrounded by baptists my whole life. Lately ive been in a pretty big theological crisis with myself. As ive journeyed off to college ive started to have a lot of doubts about christianity i guess based on criticisms people have with it. Both social and logistical critisisms that i just cannot combat. My biggest issue is that i am surrounded by christians who dont think the logical way i have found myself thinking and dont have the doubts i do. Your channels really helped me, but beliefs are just so confusing. I still have so many questions and definitely a lot of anxiety.
I always love hearing about your story, it’s inspiring to see fellow believers, and especially in that you bring a pride back into being Presbyterian, thank you
I would be very interested in hearing your breakdown of Judaism vs. Christianity, specifically surrounding the "same God" phrase that gets thrown around like it's a foregone conclusion.
Zoomer thank you for this video. Hearing about your journey back to the faith knowing you are what inspired me to do so was incredibly reassuring. Thank you. As always, -Soli Deo Gloria
My story: Raised as grandson of Greek immigrants in Canada. I believe because my family believes (Greek Orthodox). Ten year old me: “Mom, what if God’s not real?” Re-assured myself of God’s existence. Twelve year old me: “What if God’s not real?” Re-assured myself of God’s existence. Been fully devout ever since. Always participated in Easter Fast, my mission is to eventually do the fast for forty days like the Church teaches, last Easter I did 21 days, even inspired my parents to take it more seriously. My plan is to increase it by one week each year until I reach the full forty days. Also been trying to quit watching pornography, thanks in part to Zoomer here, God bless you. God bless all here.
Thanks so much for your videos. I love watching them! That said, I'm not a Calvinist and I love contemporary worship lol. Yet I love your commentary and commitment to the faith in Christ! Congrats on having a successful channel and God Bless!
We had literally the exact opposite experience in life, started a hardcore conservative christian and am now a far left agnostic. It’s interesting to hear differing perspectives.
@@Lucas-sk5iy Neither myself nor the video poster have had a “Negative trajectory” we’ve both simply lived our lives. It’s okay to wind up in different places.
You play the viola!!!!!! I do tooooooo. I feel a parasocial relationship coming on. Edit: and we are the exact same age, covid hit when I was a junior. I DEFINITELY feel a parasocial relationship coming on.
I appreciate you sharing. I attend a Lutheran church. One thing I like about Lutheranism is that it's focused on the words of the Bible and not the interpretations that aren't in it. My views on eschatology and God's judgment might differ slightly with other Lutherans or your church, but they aren't different in regard to the means of salvation, the creeds, the solas, etc. I don't think any church is unanimous on things like eschatology. The only really big thing I differ on with most people in my church is statism, since I'm a voluntaryist. Unfortunately, in any church the entire spectrum from nearly totalitarian to anarcho-capitalist can be found, so politics is just one of those things you kind of have to surrender to some extent to be in Christian fellowship.
Although i disagree with calvinistic views (i mainly find them unnecessary) i loved to hear the entirety of your testimony and how it can relate to a lot of people out there, also although i wouldn't be Presbyterian i want you to know that the union in the body of Christ from a channel like yours is beautiful, and i love watching your content. We are bound to have disagreements even in the body but that is because our sinful bodies get in the way. Nevertheless how we get by those disagreements either graciously or in anger does wonders for the church and it is something more people need to be doing, if we can walk out of a discussion saying "God bless you my brother in Christ" that is the Spirit bringing us back together as one church.
Just want to say, you don't have to be anti-lgbtq+ to be a Christian or to have true Christian beliefs. A lot of the Bible is easily misinterpreted. If you truly think about it, an all-loving God isn't truly going to tell people not to have authentic loving genuine relationships. The passages in the bible- due to the lost meaning of time and ancient languages being used, are not specifically or necessarily talking about homosexuality or "being gay". You CAN interpret it that way which is why during an extremely homophobic era of when the bible was translated it came out that way. But if you try to understand the context of that era while translating and not just try to word for word translate an ancient language you can get a way better understanding. I learned Greek, Hebrew, and studied Aramaic specifically because I wanted to better understand the Bible and it's true words. I started to learn Arabic to learn the Quran, but it didn't take long to refute the idea of the Quran being a legitimate source from God- even without Arabic. For example "man shall not wear the cloth of a woman". This sounds like it should be transphobic right, but it's not. Transgenderism wasn't really a thing back then, BUT let's say it was. A transwoman is truly a woman in soul, therefore if a transwoman wears woman's clothes they are not "a man wearing woman's clothes", but instead they are a woman wearing woman's clothes. Another example "man shall not sleep with boy". This sounds like it should be homophobic right, but it's not. Man shall not sleep with boy rather than man shall not sleep with man. The original ancient language uses 2 different words for "man" one being used for younger men. This to me sounds like pedophilia. On top of these very weak examples, there is many way stronger arguments such as most of the text talking about lusting, disingenuous relationships, prostitution, and for the most part they were referencing practices from ancient Egypt that worshipped polytheism- rather than specifically talking about genuine LGBTQ relationships. I am an extremely right wing, conservative Catholic, but I still genuinely believe that LGBTQ+ is not a sinful thing. Now do I like the parades and all that stuff? No way. I just mean the acts themselves if they are GENUINE are not sinful. Just the way lusting over a woman as a man is a sin, but NOT a sin if it's mutual and she's your wife. I know a lot of Christian's disagree but I suggest studying these specific scriptures. As it genuinely does not make sense for God to reject gay people on the basis that they loved someone of the same sex. God wouldn't call love and genuine relationships evil.
Hmm, I think it's just a Slippery slope! 1. Maybe this verse is misinterpreted 2. Maybe this book isn't canon 3. Maybe just maybe... As a Catholic, you're pretty weird, Why would you question the Church's teaching?
Sure, let's ignore Romans 1 which clearly depicts men having sex with men and women with women as grossly sinful and a consequence of faithlessness. Also 1 Cor 6 and 1 Tim 10. Let's also ignore that the default position from the OT, particularly Deuteronomy, that it's sinful and is never refuted anywhere in the NT.
12:08 Yup, I relate. I had a Muslim girlfriend once because I thought Orthodoxy and Islam are similar enough to be friends (In Bulgaria there are a lot of Muslim people). I know exactly what you mean when you say "it ended up a disaster".
I grew up in upstate ny. Much more conservative than the city. I definitely agree new yorkers need some convincing to believe something is true. I graduated in 2007 and spent the years working construction doing typical construction guy things. drinking ,fighting ,drugs, unfaithful women all that stuff that seems fun at the time but ultimately has no foundation to stand on. Now i live in Wyoming and dew to life experiences i have become christan. Not sure witch one but your videos are awsome and help a bunch. Ty and im glad to learn so much from someone so young. Gives me hope for the future ! Thanks dude🙏
Matt 16:18 "And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." Be encouraged Zoomer! Christ himself has assured us that no matter what happens, the true faith will not fall to the forces of evil. This Kingdom will stand, and it will have no end. As a millennial, I am encouraged in seeing the generation under me picking up the same scriptures we once did. Also rediscovering the wisdom of the Church Fathers. Realizing we have two millennia of giants of wisdom and theology on whose shoulders we can stand. Continue your journeys in faith. The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.
One important question though, from somebody who knows nothing about Minecraft.. Why do you always bounce while running - does it make you travel faster, or is it just for fun?
The biggest problem with calling Leftism a ‘religion’ lies in what your definition of ‘religion’ even is. I could hear arguments for Leftism having a Dogma, but I think a massive part of every major religion, which is myths and legends about how we got here and where we’re going, is absent. It has the important rules and regulations without all the stuff that surrounds it, and without that mysticism it certainly feels far different from every other religion. Also, there’s a lot more nuance to every belief system than you’re portraying here. Just as there are dozens of denominations of Christians, every Leftist believes different things. Labels are not a perfect representation of what a thing is, and so people end up being shoe-boxed. I hate to put myself up on a pedestal, but as a radically Leftist atheist I like to consider myself a big fan of alternate viewpoints and a respectful participant in religious discourse. But that’s just my image so take it with a lotta salt. Also I agree, we need a different word for homophobes. Phobia implies fear (and yes it also implies intolerance but that’s not the primary connotation), which I doubt is a reason a lotta people dislike the Alphabet Mafia. Also I’m sorry but Vivaldi’s king. If I were Christian I’d be a Roman Catholic because apparently that lets you write the Four Seasons.
Leftism absolutely has dogma, it just is an informal dogma. That's why the same people that read Mill and Marx wind up holding the same views across time that we can categorize. The harm principle is a leftist dogma. Fairness being a primary virtue is a leftist dogma. Materialism is a leftist dogma. That doesn't mean every leftist is strict at adhering to it, but it is foundational to the religion. They have a variety within that just like Christians do, and since leftism is a Christian heresy, they share some of the beliefs of Christians - especially about charity and justice. In other ways they invert those beliefs.
Swede here! We recently were very Christian. However, for the last 50 years we have lost faith, and out society is in rapid decline both economically and culturally
I am a radical leftist activist and i sit through the whole 48 min vid. Very interesting lots of things i’ve never heard about and also very insightful to hear your human journey to sense of security and salvation. I still pretty much staunchly disagree with everything you stand for but enjoyable vid (there are leftists that like to have their beliefs challenged)
Thanks for sharing your perspective! I really appreciate how nuanced all your explanations are. If I may, what are your thoughts on the argument that the modern english translations of the bible condemning homosexuality being a mistranslation of condemning pedophilia? P.S. love the minecraft and congrats on your engagement :)
Is this in reference to corithians 6:9-10? I always wanted a fundamentalist to explain that one to me so that would be great (though believing it's a mistranslation means you think the Bible isn't infallible so...)
My story: "I believe because my grandma believes and my parents believe" -> zealous Catholic, but without studying theology -> Catholic Traditionist -> almost converted to Orthodoxy -> then traditionalist -> almost converted to Islam -> conservative post-VC2 Catholic -> first time I started to wonder about Calvinism -> then Conservative Catholic -> Continental Reformed -> Presbyterian
My story: Born into the Jehovah's Witnesses > Mom gets booted when I was 8 so we were able to celebrate holidays and bdays > Previous JW memories caused me to be angry and think God really hated me so I was borderline athiest/agnostic by the time I was 12 > Befriended a guy who so happened to be a Lutheran-Christian and he understood where I was coming from so he started to teach me what Christianity was really all about and that my previous exp was indeed harmful (I was 21 at this time) > I am now moderate in my beliefs and somewhat teeter between Lutheran and Catholic when it comes to my beliefs (oddly enough) esp since I realized my late grandpa was a devout Catholic so I figured hey why not explore it and give it a go > Today at almost 29 I am still exploring my beliefs and reading all sorts of versions of the Bible while attending sermons, masses, you name it; on a semi regular basis. I still believe in evolution and I believe God exists outside of time which means 1 day for God could translate to 1000 years for us (for example). Am I a perfect Christian? Heck no. Have I reflected and grown throughout my journey? Yes. Now all I need to do is admit to my family that I am Christian--but because of everything we went through thanks to JW, I'm more or less debating on concealing my faith to only myself. Sorry for the looong comment but I wanted to share my theism story too as of yet :P
@@sarahthackeray6764 I will pray for your continuing discernment and for you to be given the fortitude to tell your family about your faith. Your comment unexpectedly resonated. I suppose it's because I also had a chaotic internal journey to strengthen my faith with none of my immediate family being very religious and I have seriously considered converting to Lutheranism in the past. We are not all called to be amazing apologists, but we can all be witnesses to our faith by everyday example and I can see that you going strong for this far. What I most advise is to definitely attend church every week, whichever that may be for now. This is my personal experience (I am Catholic) but a regular, reverent sanctuary from all worldly distractions, in fellowship, is so very necessary, and an excellent way to motivate and structure my personal Bible reading.
This was amazing, I can’t even begin to describe how much I related to u in the first half about ur middle school and high school years. Except unlike u I took the weak way out of just hiding my faith as best as I can. I’ve always been interested in expanding my knowledge and challenging my beliefs and I love ur metaphor in relation to doubts functioning as vaccines. But i did it the wrong way, I started studying philosophy and I would love to talk to u more abt it. And as a result of that and other factors I’ve been definitely falling out of my faith. I just graduated high school and am planning on going a church in cali. I would love to talk more with u on some topic, and I honestly feel out of place saying what I’m saying but I may as well shoot my shot considering how big of a channel u r.
Hearing your testimony is amazing Zoomer, Praise God! I was wondering if you had a video talking about John McCarther and his Theology? I also grew up with Tim Keller and John McCarther but I am very intrigued by what you mean by his faulty theology? Anyways thanks for this wonderful video!
This was very close to my transformation I have to say. I was also raised in a secular household that leaned to the left, after some hardships in my life, my grandmother who was a catholic supported me through all that had and was happpening, I got to talk to a pastor and eventually attended church. I am now what most would consider conservative and am on the path to become a catholic. I have to admit I'm not a very good christian, I'm still studying the bible and working my way past sinful habits but I have hope and faith which I now know will see me through
God bless you for being as honest as you are in saying you feel like you are not a 'good Christian " I'm in a very similar situation, coming from a secular background it can be difficult to deny the desires of our flesh and our sinful will But in you admitting that, and repenting you are a good Christian in my eyes. Keep on seeking god,(go to church, talk with a priest, read the bible, read about the saints etc and whatever the Temptation may be it will become unappealling. Remember God is not a tyrant, his 'rules" are not arbitrary, what God wants for us, is what is best for us. (Im not preaching prosperity gospel, since we live in a fallen state, you could still lose everything just by doing the right thing. But in the scenario everyone acted like God wanted us to (heaven) We would live our most ideal life.
@@peterubbels2385 Thanks for the cheer, I wish you luck and prosperity, especially when fighting the good fight as you are. The way I see it, our fight against sin and evil in this world is apart of gods plan, to make us stronger in the face of it all, Frankly I don't think I would be a christian if it were not for the hardships I have felt. So no matter how the years roll, take it in stride, as you said god wants whats best for us,, so long as we have faith it'll come even on a bumpy road
Norway here! We're not really an atheist country as you claim. Yes, there is a trend towards lower participation in church, but we still have Christianity as our state religion. As a matter of fact, the king of Norway is required by law to be a Christian. It might sound a bit medieval, but it is indeed a testament of our country's past.
I would be more convinced by your theology if you had tossed the 5 cobblestone pieces before you tossed the emerald while you were making room in your inventory
bro what? you can be christian and leftist. you can be any religion and leftist. and why are your religions and politics so tied together, like check yourself bro. Im a christian too and we literally have the same religious and political story but I can see your falling into this pit of religious political beliefs that will only ostracize yourself even more. be careful man your making money of your beliefs and thatll make it harder to grow as person. A conservative, Calvinist, mainline Presbyterian New Yorker that believes in evolution and affirms the authority of scripture! I love your perspective and your faith journey. I am a conservative, evangelical southern Baptist Arminian from Florida that doesn’t believe in evolution (but is an old-earth creationist) - and I find the diversity in our beliefs fascinating. I love to see how other Christians think. Definitely subscribing; God bless you brother! Also, I love watching theology videos while playing Minecraft so this video is right up my alley!
Hahaha this story sounds so much like every story of a person that falls for a cult. Hearing you unironically say "woke" gave a good chuckle though. Thanks for the entertainment.
A bit late to comment, but we share very similar origins. I was, and still am, a "leftist" although I don't like using that word anymore because of its generalizations. I recently came into faith but I haven't definitely found a denomination as I'm still learning (although, Presbyterianism makes more sense to me). Nonetheless, I am still a socialist but without the progressive connotations that are attached to it by the liberal crowd. I prefer to focus more on socialist economics paired with a socially traditional viewpoint, which is where faith comes in. I think I'll always be a socialist, and a Christian one at that. Politics is not so black and white as many people perceive it to be; I can be socialist and a conservative Christian. I'm not alone in my views, and I'm currently working with other fellows to create a group for like-minded Christian socialists. We need to show others that we can break through the stereotypes that "all leftists have to be atheist" or that "all Christians have to like free market capitalism".
Hi there, this is really great to see, I agree with most of what you shared if not all; would be awesome to connect esp about the "working with other fellows to create a group for like-minded Christian socialists" - do you share anything on your channel?
As a atheist, Jesus was actually pretty based in what he said about caring for the poor and treating others well. It was what kept me holding onto my faith for so long.
As someone who is on the left and still Catholic, no. I am not shamed by people on the left with me for my religion at all, they are fairly tolerant of my beliefs since we are both working toward the same overall goals 🤷🏻♀️
God bless you and your journey with him. You did a lot in teaching me about the different groups in Christianity, also that i am not the only one fighting in a world where the churches get more and more progressive. I am pentacostal and i love your work. God be with you everyday and everywhere 🙏
Likewise man, I was a diehard atheist for 7 years until this year.. your typical "no evidence 🤓" redditor.. praise the LORD
@@JWar- I’m a little confused to what ur saying.
Arminianism isn’t real, Calvinism is the only option, Calvinism is wrong.
That’s how I read it sry.
And, yet, if you (and Redeemed Zoomer) lived in a different zipcode, you would have the same revelations...
but they would involve joining Islam, Buddhism, or Hinduism.
But I like this guy because he, at least, isnt one of the christians of hate who use their religion as tribal weapon to harm others.

wow, the flashbacks man wow thanks for this comment
That's pretty strange considering the Bible disproves calvinism..
@@AR15andGOD ill bite. how so?

Hardship means you're doing something right. Christians are supposed to be different. We serve not the world, but God. Wear it with pride, champ.
Why are you so toxic towards christians exactly?
@greglejacques1094lol nobody will take seriously anyone who quotes Wikipedia as an only reference

It's wild to see how young your audience is, based on the comments it's mostly teenage boys struggling to find their place in the world. As a slightly older 20-something who never lost the faith (though as anyone who knows me can tell you, I've a long road to reach holiness, God help me), I have some simple advice for all you young men:
Never give up!
Keep the words of *1 Timothy 4:12* close to your heart:
"Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity."
I watched your first couple videos thinking “I don’t have to listen to this guys conservative views, after all, I’m only here to watch him explain the fundamentals and build a Church.”

Hi, I'm a 16 year old Lutheran and this video, along with others of yours has answered so many of my own questions and worries. thank you
Your channel probably was what made me an actual Christian, I have been raised non-denominational (More accurately Charismatic Baptist) but never really found footing in my faith.
(man i really had to get that last bit out)

I just got baptized as a Lutheran after being a Oneness Pentecostal for over a decade. You actually pointed out I should go get baptized for realzies.
Welcome to the Lutheran gang!
Bye from a Pentecostal 🔥
This is bringing tears to my eyes, that way you speak hits me directly in the heart. Thanks you sir!
I appreciate the vulnerability and the information. I learned a lot. Although I have some beliefs that differ, I enjoy listening to how you arrived to your faith and why you’re so grounded in it.
Man i love those KingdomCraft vids. Hands down the best series on youtube
Dude, you are fulfilling your purpose here. Your video explaining every book in the Bible changed a whole lot for me, thank you.
Happy Sunday everyone !
hope you had a good service brother/sister. praise be to Jesus ❤
It's Saturday
25:37 "at the time I would play Minecraft while listening to sermons" I am currently listening to you while playing terraria. Great channel keep it up👍
As a dane i can honestly relate to you so much. I only know a few Christians, but i feel that being in a minorty really helps you grow in your faith. God Bless brother.
It truly is. I Know a Danish orthodox friend and the community of Christians in denmark(especially orthodox) is much warmer than in majority christian countries like Georgia
This millennial is loving your channel! Love your appreciation of church architecture, classical Protestantism, and high church worship!

Hi Redeemed Zoomer. I loved listening to your story. I work as a summer camp councilor, where my job is to basically share Jesus with elementary and middle school kids. It can get discouraging at times because you just don’t know if the spark you lit will grow or be snuffed out when the kids leave camp. There’s always a fear that your seeds won’t land among good soil so to speak.
Listening to your story is super encouraging, and let’s us know that yes, the work we do in the lives of middle schoolers does have an impact, even if we can’t see the fruits of our labor.
Really appreciate you being clear about the differences between Judaism and Christianity. Checked out my local PCA church thanks to you.
Your Journey is super Inspiring as a fellow Presbyterian. God Bless You ♥

God Bless!
The Catholic church is the one you should look into
All I can say is please don’t let yourself be manipulated into such a narrow worldview like this person has.
Super cool to hear your perspective as a Lutheran who also moved down South and is now surrounded by the non-denom and baptist crowd
God bless you❤
Don’t do it. It was probably a coincidence. Do you have any other evidence?
Running from a garbage fire denomination is not retreating in the cowardly sense. It is a tactical withdrawal. 😊

1. Maybe this verse is misinterpreted
2. Maybe this book isn't canon
3. Maybe just maybe...
As a Catholic, you're pretty weird, Why would you question the Church's teaching?
I actually enjoyed reading this and it was very insightful ❤
Sure, let's ignore Romans 1 which clearly depicts men having sex with men and women with women as grossly sinful and a consequence of faithlessness. Also 1 Cor 6 and 1 Tim 10.
Let's also ignore that the default position from the OT, particularly Deuteronomy, that it's sinful and is never refuted anywhere in the NT.
@@SeanusAurelius the original context is paganism and rape not modern day true love

I can relate to so much of your story and I’m so glad you have a platform to share this kind of stuff.
I hate to put myself up on a pedestal,
but as a radically Leftist atheist I like to consider myself a big fan of alternate viewpoints and a respectful participant in religious discourse.
Dude, it was like listening to a poorly researched autobiography. Well done, very encouraging. Love the channel
Thanks for sharing your perspective! I really appreciate how nuanced all your explanations are.

Is this in reference to corithians 6:9-10? I always wanted a fundamentalist to explain that one to me so that would be great (though believing it's a mistranslation means you think the Bible isn't infallible so...)

We are not all called to be amazing apologists, but we can all be witnesses to our faith by everyday example and I can see that you going strong for this far.
What I most advise is to definitely attend church every week, whichever that may be for now. This was very close to my transformation I have to say. I have to admit I'm not a very good christian, I'm still studying the bible and working my way past sinful habits but I have hope and faith which I now know will see me through
God bless you for being as honest as you are in saying you feel like you are not a 'good Christian "
I'm in a very similar situation, coming from a secular background it can be difficult to deny the desires of our flesh and our sinful will
But in you admitting that, and repenting you are a good Christian in my eyes.

stay Presby! Reformed Anglican is just a gateway to Anglo-Catholic. Only the Presbyterian Church has solid roots in the Reformed tradition

@@redeemedzoomer6053 Lollll I would never be catholic I only like Anglicans because they are more high church and I like the episcopal structure.. I can’t believe you responded 😱😱
@@redeemedzoomer6053 I don’t know. J.I. Packer was a reformed Anglican for like 80 years and he never went John Henry Newman.

God bless you RZ, You have opened my eyes out of my church bubble
@@jubilatory Have you considered coming back to Christ?
if you mean becoming a Christian again, not anytime recently no
As someone who is on the left and still Catholic, no. I am not shamed by people on the left with me for my religion at all, they are fairly tolerant of my beliefs since we are both working toward the same overall goals 🤷🏻♀️
I fnd it really hard to believe that you can't be left-leaning christian
to be on the left breaks any if gods law
God bless you and your journey with him. You did a lot in teaching me about the different groups in Christianity, also that i am not the only one fighting in a world where the churches get more and more progressive. I am pentacostal and i love your work. God be with you everyday and everywhere 🙏
