Johnhitbox imo opinion those movies killed the genre. Oversaturated too many sequel type movies using the same soundtrack over and over again. I mean sure they were fun raunchy teen comedies but eventually there was just too much.

Sales figures that Beyonce could only have dreamed of. "Girlfriend" was also the most successful song worldwide in 2007. Maybe Beyonce was bigger in the US but she never had the same international success as Avril.
LalaliLalalooo Avril is still insanely popular today in Asian markets. Beyoncé in America is much bigger than Avril ever was, but peak Avril was bigger than Beyoncé was at the time.
This past Sunday my friend's 8 year old daughter just randomly started singing Sk8er Boi.
I'm 14 and just seen Sum 41 in concert about a month ago, along with The Offspring. It was amazing!

ResolvedRage The music itself was fun. They never took themselves too seriously and it was a guarantee you’d heard Sum 41 at a high school party back in 2001.
Placebo, YES! Where you can understand most if not all the words. Now it’s like they repeat repeat repeat and all sound the same with autotune. Like it’s hard to find any new songs out there without autotune! Good times good music.
Now it's all about sippin lean and mumbling over a half ass beat.
I'm only 11-12 and how much I would KILL to see Sum 41 again. I saw them a month ago in May. When they played Fatlip in concert, so much moshing. I was right next to it and grown men helped me not get hurt, though I was kicked in the head by a crowd surfer. Definitely the best night of my life! I also saw simple plan with them. BEST. NIGHT. EVER. Sum 41 is Definitely my favorite band.
I think you're hittin' the sweet spot as far as music genres for her. Punk seems to be up her alley. Might consider Simple Plan, Green Day, The Offspring, and Rise Against in the future.

Takes me back to the spring/summer of 2001. Weezer just released “the green album”, Blink just released TOYPAJ and Sum 41 released this gem. What a great summer. Oh and let’s not forget the classic American Pie 2.

sum41 always felt like a revival of that feels good 'kids taking over' kind of theme. Like new radicials, you only get what you give, and len, steal my sunshine, back in the later 90s.
I've recently "rediscovered" Sum 41, Good Charlotte, Green Day, Papa Roach, Blink 182, etc... God, the late 90s/early 2000s was such awesome music!! Reminds me, a millennial closer to the tail end of the age group, of a time when I was happy lmao
I remember the late summer nights with my friends.. I remember we played fat lip on a Saturday night nonstop on the CD player.. Then our next door neighbour yelled from fence saying "yo little bros turn that shit up I can't hear it" 😂😂

I got goosebumps watching this!! 👏🏼 This song was EVERYTHING when it came out in 2001. I remember buying the All Killer No Filler album. Endless summers, skating all day.. Such a Sum41 Fan! This is the essence of the band at that time. I would have suggested showing Still Waiting and In Too Deep as that trio really give you the vibe and sprit of it all! Prefer this to the new stuff. Late 90's/2000 punk/pop punk.

When my mom has me listen to what she liked as a teen, it's the Allman Brothers, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, stuff I ended up loving because they're all timeless. I think if I ever have kids, it's going to wildly different like this 😂 but they might run away lol

This just makes me want to cry because I miss those days. 😭 I know exactly what the dad is saying, thinking and feeling. Sum 41 was so good live back in those days. Even before these times when they used to rob pizza shops with squirt guns and dance in parking lots with a boombox.

Saw sum 41 this summer in Pensacola. This was their encore song. It was amazing.
