I never had the opportunity to see Eric in cream John Mahal, Derek and the Dominos but I did see him live in LA in 76. He was absolutely amazing. As a matter of fact he got the place so riled up the first 8 or 10 rows were folding chairs people were sitting in and they started throwing these things around . I was in the fourth row and could see Eric real clear. Never saw anybody who could play guitar like that ever. He played badge that night with two choruses that extended period Ringo Starr was in the wings and he was screaming
Here he plays his beloved Blackie guitar. He sold it somewhere in the 80's and I believe it was the most expensive guitar ever sold till the one autographed by him and the other rock greats for the tsunami victims. This is piece of history...plus you can't see Slowhand dance on stage like this anymore.
I dunno, some reviews are unfavorable, I think he did really well and I actually like the human touch of him almost running face first into Carl Radle's bass.....and recovering from it.... my opinion...just sayin...
This dude was crazy to be able to play this well while being intoxicated
thats what amazes me about EC in the 70s...he was out of it but still found those strings perfectly ...incredible!!
Carl Radle!
he looks soooo drunk...but is still ridiculous on those solo's
One of the best versions of this song I've heard :) I love his playing in these days, don't care he was drinking.
" she dont lie she dont lie she dont lie ... ok i'm drunk i let you sing " ! Damn eric what a journey ! Still around and kickin the blues ! Cheers
Great concert
