This is what Blues is all about. Singing your heart out, making your guitar screaming and crying your pain to make people feeling it. No fuss, no extravagance, just the man pouring his soul out through his instrument. This video is one of the best testimony of one of the best Clapton's era ever, where he basically went back to his roots to make it his own. Fortunately for us, Martin Scorsese was there to capture these masterpiece moments so that everyone always remembers what a phenomal artist Clapton is. Nowadays you can criticize Clapton's stances on some sensitive topics, but you won't take away his musical legacy that will remain forever as long as there will be ears to listen.

I saw him one time and thought he had 0 stage presence or that IT factor at all... I felt like didn't get much for my money or would ever pay too see him again... his Cd's are decent though
I dont what show you saw, I saw him at MSG and it was spectacular. Hes never been outwardly social with audience, he let's music make the connection. If you want alot of interaction with audience go see someone else not as special
I've never seen another type of music (i.e. the blues) that calls up such passion in its players - particular EC. The blues never fail him because he has such reverence for his idols and influences going way back. They are who he is channeling in this performance along with his own blues for which he's had plenty. If you want to hear a musician who "gets" the feel for this idiom, you are watching one of the greatest to strap on a six string. I get chills listening to him and want to immediately sit down at my instrument which isn't guitar, but keyboards. Now that's what inspiration does! Wow. Love you Eric - human frailties and all.

FANTASTIC!! Clapton at his best playing the Blues and music that influenced him right from the start! It really doesn’t get any better than this! His tone is awesome, phrasing and there’s so much passion, soul and emotion in his playing it’s unbelievable!!

Honestly, this is the best I've heard blues being played. I suppose SRV would be a close second, but there's a bunch of musicians that try to play this genre (famous or not so) that sound pale in comparison, like most of what you might hear in a Famous Daves. Eric's lived through enough crap up to that point (and his son's passing was still fairly fresh here only about 3 years prior), that he could channel all those different emotions in this tour. Probably even therapeutic to an extent.
This and unplugged are my faves, lucky enough to have recorded the vh1 rehearsals back on uk tv but definitely purchasing this release! His best playing, vocals, and sound for me

Great music. I have always had allot of respect for Clapton. I still believe SRV was better blues player. Even Clapton said that he didn’t want to go on stage after him 😂 but this doesn’t mean he not a great guitarist. I have always been a fan of him. Keep going Mr. Clapton keep going on
I’ve been listening to EC since the 60’s and the longer he plays, the more I enjoy the Bluesbreakers, Cream, Blind Faith, Derek and all of the earlier recordings. They have the simple blues coupled with brilliant electric guitar playing. This concert is repetitive and strained. But each to their own listening enjoyment. That’s music. 😎

Ho.My.God ! I'm near 50 years olds, and this guy is the one that made to buy a guitar (35 years ago? Quite like that...). I listened to pretty much everything he's ever recorded and I honnestly think this is the most outstanding thing I ever heard from him. I'm just... blown away.

Great music. I have always had allot of respect for Clapton. I still believe SRV was better blues player. Even Clapton said that he didn’t want to go on stage after him 😂 but this doesn’t mean he not a great guitarist. I have always been a fan of him. Keep going Mr. Clapton keep going on
I’ve been listening to EC since the 60’s and the longer he plays, the more I enjoy the Bluesbreakers, Cream, Blind Faith, Derek and all of the earlier recordings. They have the simple blues coupled with brilliant electric guitar playing. This concert is repetitive and strained. But each to their own listening enjoyment. That’s music. 😎

Ho.My.God ! I'm near 50 years olds, and this guy is the one that made to buy a guitar (35 years ago? Quite like that...). I listened to pretty much everything he's ever recorded and I honnestly think this is the most outstanding thing I ever heard from him. I'm just... blown away.
