Making Circles with Alcohol Ink

  • To celebrate the birth of my first grandbabies (twins!!) I decided to make them some artwork for their bedroom. This video is dedicated to them, Annabelle Marie and Dakota May 💕
    The colors I used: TREX dragonfruit pink, glacier blue, bellini orange and Ranger Ink Dandelion and Limeade. I used 99% alcohol which I typically use because it evaporates faster than lower concentrations.
    Hope you enjoy!
    If you noticed that comments are missing from some of my videos I am not sure what is going on and it is not my doing. If you have a question that goes unanswered or seems to be missing from my comment section, please find me on Facebook or Instagram I will be happy to answer you there.
    Make sure to do all your art activities in a well ventilated area. Always seal your artwork with Varnish spray and UV Resistant Clear spray. If using TREX ink use Krylon UV Archival varnish spray which I have since switched to avoid spotting with the TREX ink.

      Yupo is a non-absorbent paper so the alcohol sits on top without soaking in so it can move around and make the lovely gradients. I've heard that there are different brands of non-absorbent papers, even stone papers! But i haven't tested them myself in order to compare 👍

    I have a wand heat gun.... would that still work? Or do you like you hair dryer more because of the power?
    Also, did I miss what the pen/ release was that you used. The bowls stick. We used small plexi sheets. Trying to make stain glasses for a class project for the classroom.

    • @TeresaKovalak
      @TeresaKovalak  4 роки тому

      I am using a blow dryer called, volume series by con air hot air one and a 1/2 inch curling brush. I do not use a heat gun because it will warp the yupo paper. If you are doing the some plexiglass a heat gun will work. Just make sure you work in a well ventilated area if you are doing thus with several people or yourself.🖌🎨🌈 Hope this helps.😉

    Wonderful colors. You say dryer, do you like in hair dryer or heat gun?

    • @TeresaKovalak
      @TeresaKovalak  4 роки тому

      It's best to use a hair dryer because, if you use a heat gun you need to be extra careful that it's not too close to your painting or it can warp your paper.😉

    I just love this. And I love the ones that have moved a little. They add something to the painting.

      Teresa Kovalak okay so I can just mix about 3 parts 91% alcohol with 1 part ink and spread on the paper and blow it around? Also when would you apply the sealer spray? Thank you 🙏

    I wonder if using an airbrush would allow you to blow and dry without worry of heat on the yupo?
