Mystical magical piece. I am enthralled.
The rock formations are spectacular. The trees sing.
The waterfall looks misty and foggy and reflective and more....
You reach into my heart and touch my soul with your work.
    Thank you, Cee Cee.

I was just blown away watching you create this, so was my cat! He doesn’t usually watch the computer, but as he was sitting on my lap while I watched, the music caught his attention. He tilted his head down a bit to focus on it and then couldn’t stop watching! I needed to get up, but didn’t dare break his concentration. He seemed mesmerized. So funny.

What exactly would make you an experienced alcohol inks artist? After doing 50 pieces? After 5? Who's to say, but I'd bet $100 you ARE an artist. You have a vision in mind and you're making it happen someway. It's impressive and I don't see anyone else doing this kind of art with them. Beautiful.

Most beautiful work with alcohol inks Ive seen and Ive been searching it...I jusr retired (37 yrs. teaching JH )and thought I'd pick up watercolors. So, looked on UA-cam for help. OMG! So much talent and information. I LOVE the effects of this but dangers a little scary! I can't wait to see your work in other mediums.

Good heavenly daisies CeeCee. If this is what you can do without really knowing how to use alcohol inks......Both of these paintings are amazing. I’ve been watching your channel and absolutely LOVE your paintings. They are all so beautiful! You make it look so easy but I know it is not. I have tried a lot of different mediums in the past and can’t wait to try the alcohol ink. I’ve purchased all the necessities. ALL of the different mediums have health issues especially for someone with respiratory issues. We just have to be smart about it and take precaution. Hope you can continue with this. You are GREAT!

Lovely! Glad you did warm folks.. Years ago I was cleaning the bathroom mirror after a shower w/alcohol steamy bathroom not helping but was in a hurry to get ready , company coming soon.. Shower and clean as I go. Squirted about 1/4 cup alc. On bathroom mirror and facets and with a paper towel started to clean hadn't open the window yet as I'm short and I would have to climb on the sink to reach it. So I'm cleaning feeling pains in my arm and in my chest. Opened the door hoping it would help.. Ask I know is it hurt to breathe...ended up at the Dr.s he called an ambulance..I was having a heart attack. You're not supposed to get it in your skin and breathe it in an enclosed room... I will never do that again for sure! Air ventilation is A #1 must.. Gloves are a good barrier. Be smart when you create my friends ..so we can create more beauty!

Hi there - the kind of mask you are wearing is a dust mask. If you want to protect yourself from VOCs - you HAVE to wear a mask made for that. Sadly - they are the kind with the two filters on either side - those big ones and you put it on tightly around your face - they have instructions. Once you get the fit - it becomes easier to take on and off again (only the first time is a hassle). :-) With these masks, you cannot smell anything - if you do, then you know it is time to replace the filters. They are a bit expensive - around $35 Canadian. I use it for spray painting in the garage and some gluing. And I agree one should use it with alcohol, especially for an extended time of use. It is great that you provide the warnings here - but Iso Alc is all about VOCs. Resins in the blending solution offer an extra bonus of sticking to your lungs if inhaled - so they say, never spray it. :-( But if you have the mask, then you do have more flexibility with how you work. So if you do a lot of this - it is worth getting the other mask. Warning - they are not as much fun or comfortable and they get hot - so you need to take some breaks - at least that is what I have found. Still better to be safe. Sorry for the long message - but I see soooooooooooo many people thinking that they are protecting themselves and they are not. BTW - I did a lot of research on this issue including talking to some manufacturers of these masks. The best way to research this area is by Googling VOC's and that's how you will discover which masks do what. Cheers, and thank you for providing your lovely videos! All the very best! :-) PS.... I think alcohol denat (and/or grain) might be better if you make ur own inks and just the plain alch for the effects. But purchased inks are all ISO. Still, even though we use perfume and drink vodka, I am nor sure I would want to inhale it for lengthy amounts of time either. It might be worth researching though - note to self - haha. :-)

Both your pieces look amazing. I think that using the hair dryer even on a cool setting probably makes the effects of the alcohol/blending solution more of an issue with the slight heat creating more fumes. I have used an airbrush to move the inks which might be an alternative, but a bit more forceful so maybe create different effects. Great inspiration.

Also have to consider danger to babies, pets, children, elderly or chronically ill people, neighbors if living in apartment complex, fire risk. Also must keep alcohol inks and products securely locked away from children who might try to play with them.

What? no coffee??? LOL I use alcohol inks frequently and have no problem with the smells. Maybe some are more sensitive to it than others. Try using a diffuser on your hair dryer. It concentrates your air flow and you can control the ink a little more. Love the "waterfall" effect! Keep practicing...there are many of us learning along with you. Have a terrific day!

    • @noralyngorges2078

Eleanor Vasil the smells don’t bother me but I’m in a well ventilated area. However, I do have concerns about breathing it in and possible long term effects. The more I’m learning about these different mediums, the more I’m wondering if PPE is best to be used as much as possible at all times. Anyway, I have not tried using the diffuser with my hair blower...ty for the tip...I must give it a try. 😉

Hi I love your videos but I am wondering if you’re using your inks straight instead of putting alcohol with them? My ink so much too strong it to use straight. However yours looks good!

This is a fantastic video CeeCee! Your work is fabulous. Just a heads up, I have an entire UA-cam video devoted to Alcohol Ink safety, so feel free to check it out because it talks about the exact potential hazards, types of gloves and what type of masks there are.

thank you so much, Serena. i have watched your video which is well prepared and so informative. i've left you a note about the gloves and have linked your videos in the description of mine so that my viewers can watch it as well.

You are a total sweetheart, thank you for all the warnings. This turned out beautifully, seriously very nice, worth selling in your etsy shop or whatever if you have one. If you can bear to part with it, that is. :-) I would have to keep it, if it were mine. :-) I too saw the woman even before you started working on her. She looks like she is standing on some rocks in front of a waterfall, contemplating the beautiful view. :-) [edit] okay I just peeked in your etsy shop... This is way too nice to sell for a low price!! Put that price up there dear!!

I have to tell you a funny story I got up yesterday same thing got something to drink set down to watch a video and nothing I thought we’ll maybe because it’s a holiday got up this morning look for your video nothing so I went to your name never thinking it wouldn’t be watercolor and it would be the alcohol inks I was thrilled to find UA-cam videos.I like them both but I’m crazy over the first one the colors and everything I watch you and think how can you make that into anything but you always do. Thanks again for all the time that you put into them and for caring I also have lung problems so it’s good to know about the alcohol inks I have them but never really done anything with them.

What is the big felt looking pen you are using

Was the fillable pen filled with alcohol? What was the blending medium besides alcohol?

That was outstanding! I have used alcohol inks (own the entire range) but never ever worked them with alcohol and blending solution and a hairdryer like you did! incidentally, what is the difference between the alcohol and blending solution, please?

    • @creationsceecee
      @creationsceecee  6 років тому

thank you, frances. the isopropyl alcohol i use is 99%USP so it's quite a bit stronger than the blending solution. the other difference is that the blending solution has a binding agent in it and the isopropyl alcohol is pure alcohol.

creationsceecee thank you! I use the 99% isopropyl alcohol. Never used the blending solution.
