My goodness, this is the best video I've found! Thank you for showing us! Question, do I need to transplant into bigger pots? Or to the ground? I want to cover the railings of my deck with Ivy, may I leave them in a medium pot and place them next to the railing?
If you put them in the ground eventually they will grow more then your expectation. So you need to prune them in timely manner. But if you want to put them in pots they won’t grow very tall and long cuz of limited space. Sorry or late response. I appreciate your comment.
I have so much English Ivy growing all around my home, and I want to have some indoors to help with air quality and mold spores -- is it possible to cut one big vine at a time from outside, put the large cutting straight into a pot and have a healthy larger plant that will thrive indoors? Or do you always have to chop them up into pieces and put them in water first? Thnx!
I have one large branch that I have been propagating from outdoors and so far it’s been doing well. It’s only popped out one root so far after about 20 days.
You can cut them as one long vine if you want, You can cut them as small or as big as you want. It should be said though that larger cuttings can be a little unpredictable as they need more roots to support the larger cuttings- Though, it might not take them too long as they contain more energy. You could try adding a very dilute fertiliser though, I added a few drops of pre-diluted water soluble fertiliser to my water propogations upstairs and the roots seemed to have liked that because they've been growing slightly quicker than they had been.
thank you for this, it is encouraging to learn. I have a variegated ivy that was so beautiful and now the leaves of 2 the long branches have dried out and the stem looks green on the inside as i trimmed the tip, 2 little branches have completely died, one long and one short branches seem ok. I have it at the top of my book shelf. I probably didn't water it fast enough on some hotter days. It kept on drying up after i did water it. Is there something i can do to revive it?? is it better to water from the top or to soak it for a little while ??? when is it good to fertilize?? i appreciate the help :->
Don't let it get started in the ground, it will take over the place, it will cover the house, the trees, the ground, everything. My question here is, how do I kill it? I thought I had this here killed off several years ago, but it came back. Winter will not kill it. Thanks Deepak.
Wow.. I was totally unaware about this invasive plant. Need to really be hunk about it before we gat to plant it. Best way would be keeping confined in the pot I believe. Thanks for bringing into our attention. .
@@myalivesoul Yes, keep it confined to a container. Do you know a way to kill it. I can't get what I used on it before, I think I might have been able to kill it out completely if I had done a followup on it, I thought I had it killed, I don't know what I missed that made it possible for it to tome back. Thanks Deepak, you guys take care.
I've had success in killing roots with a mixture of 1 part epsom salts, 7 parts vinegar, 1 part dish soap and 4 parts water.. Pour epsom salt into water and stir until dissolved.. add vinegar, stir again, then add dish soap. Uproot undesired plants *as much as you can* and then pour the solution into the soil. This solution also works as a grub killer.
@@RainbowFlowerCrow Does it work specifically on English Ivy also or just roots in general? It would have to be sprayed on the trees also because they can live just off the tree even if they are not attached to the ground I think. Thank you.
I have an flat area of ivy bed. There is lots of weed growing. I am removing weed by hand. I want to plant more ivy there. Can I cut some ivy like you did and put in water and then when roots grow, put straight to the ground?
My english ivy has lost most of its leaves. I have changed to a north window thinking the south window may have been too much. The pots have good drainage...I water 1x week thoroughly. I make sure it does not sit in water. My husband started watering just from the bottom to see if that helps. ANY information is appreciated!
I'm not OP, but it's ok to add as much water has been lost to absorption and evaporation water during the 1st 15 days. Ivy is very hardy, and you will see roots in time💜
I got an english ivy succulent. It started dying indoors. What shud I do? Repot or put in water for sometime? All leaves are Dead only the stem is left.
I followed the video and the Ivy has been in the water about 5-6 days near a bright window. The leaves are drooping and turning brown. No visible roots yet. I'm worried the cuttings are dying. What am i doing wrong?
Hi there. I’ve seen people do that and I have cuttings from the garden outside my home. So far they look good but it’s too soon to know yet if it’s going to work for me. I’ve got them on the window sill in the kitchen. Good luck with your ivy ! 😊👋🏻
Really liked how you had footage after “x” number of days! Now I know what to expect in 30 days. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it! Good luck with your project.

Awesome I can save $$$ just replant that ivy from outside that’s covered a fence.
Thank you, Indian man.😉
I am from Nepal bro.
Alot of it leaves been falling is it normal? Or what should i do?

So this plant will survive in extreme winters outside? We get snow in winters.
Yo, thank u!
Do you sprinkle water on the leaves, mine is variegated when i wet the leaves they tend to wither fast
No need to do that.
How tall can they grow in a pot? I am thinking about putting nice pots along my privacy fence with English ivy.
How big of pot do you want to use if just got one?

Hello sir, thank you for the informative video, should I change the water throughout the first 15 days or you don’t change it at all?

Thank you, that was really helpful 💜
Replace the water completely every week!
Can ivy be propagated from only the leaves and stems and not the vine portion?
🤟🤟🤟
Thank you hajur..
Are ivy ok in full afternoon sun, West facing?
Subscribe. Love the updates, love the timeframe, and love the healthy plants.
Appreciate it.

Thank you very much.
Can I grow this year round in the house ?
Yes, keep that at the sunny side of the window.
do you change water during the 15 days?
It is recommended for better result
What do i do if my English ivy has lost allot of leaves and isn't full anymore??
I got an english ivy succulent. It started dying indoors. What shud I do? Repot or put in water for sometime? All leaves are
Dead only the stem is left.
Change good soil. Give more sunlight and water once a week.

I made the cutting but yesterday i saw mold grew on it ao i throw it
Really so fast like that. Can you post images in learnagro Facebook group so that we can better assist you with your project.
I'm here because I learned English ivy is super effective at reducing mold spores in the air
where do you live in?
Is ivy drought tolerant?
Yes to some extent but not fully. So once in a while watering is needed.
