Propagate English Ivy from Stem Cuttings
I propagated some English Ivy from stem cuttings. I show you how to make the cuttings so you can grow your own English Ivy. This is a great way to create new English Ivy Plants for production to sell or just to have more plants for your landscape. I will do a follow up when they root and also will have a video of growing English Ivy from leaves too!

I’m trying to propitiate my ivy. Don’t know the variety. It has deep green, smooth edge leaves with no variegation. I’ve been trying to find out where the new growth will come from - up from the soil or from the trailing end or node? I have some in water and some in soil with rooting hormone. No cover, just keeping the soil moist and changing water. I took the cuttings from shorter vines (1-3 feet). The donor is about about 6 years old with a few 10 or 12 foot vines. Two weeks and waiting!

It should start new growth from a node, will usually grow roots out first, then working in growth, mine have not rooted yet but the are healthy and green so I feel confident

Thanks for the reply! UPDATE: seems I have a common Jade Pothos here (not an ivy?). I was hoping for node growth as opposed to waiting for new shoots. I have about 6 cuttings in a pot, destined to be a gift. Looks a little bare right now, but the cuttings are still healthy looking. The leaves aren’t turning toward the light but I guess they need to get stronger.
One other question - do ivy branch after pruning? I’d like to see these fill out more. I work in the same office the plant will live eventually (I’ll be able to tend it).
