I have just converted a .waz to a .tap and have attched the .tap file, but I do not know how to "Press Play on Tape"
preferences -> settings -> peripherial devices -> tape port devices -> Enable Virtual Device #1
Then, drag the .T64 file into VICE 3,6. It should autostart.
@@NPlay64 I just realized that the file I made using Audacity will not work as I can not select the mic port. So, I am looking to purchase a tape converter, that converts the files to .mp3 after that I can see if I can get them to play in WinVise. Although I am still rocking an older version 2.4. LOL!!! Hopefully audiotap supports converting .mp3 files to .tap.
@@jeffnay6502 Wow, that's quite a project :)
Could you shoot a note if you succeed on this mission? I'm curious of how this conversion goes. Honestly, I worked only with .D64 files, I used T64/TAP for playing games only but the idea of turning T64 into .MP3 and vice versa is quite an intriguing idea.
About 2.4 I mainly use my C64 to create music and as it has reSID-fp SID emulation than is more precise than the faster reSID in 3.6, I tend to use the older one most of the time, too. I use 3,6 for playing games only, for that it is more fluent somehow.
@@NPlay64 Looks like I got it working. I switched to my laptop. Using audacity I was able to create the .wav file. I then used audiotap to convert the wav file to a tap file and I was able to drag that file into VICE. This was just a test, to see if my wav file conversion was actually working. The job I am trying to do, is convert a Vintage Processor Technology cassette Resident 8080 Assembler to a wav file, as no one seems to have this cassette anymore and no one has it archived. So I will share it with the world.
@@jeffnay6502Mate, that's some great project! Will you upload it @CSDb or some other C64 hub?
Other than that, it made me re-dust one of my old projects that is the other way around, putting some .PRG-s back to tape. I still have my Datasette and it is still working :)
Thanks for the inspiration and feel free to shoot a note if the project is finished!
I`m trying to run Henry`s House and it loads ok but then it says press [RUN/STOP] or [F7] to start game but I can`t find that buttons anywhere. Does VICE have some virtual keyboard or is there a some other way? I have tried every button on my keyboard and xbox gamepad and still nothing. I can only use SPACE to go through the instruction page.
The complete C64 keyboard is supposed to be mapped to a PC keyboard. Just out of the top of my head, RUN/STOP is ESC on PC, F7 should be F7. I guess the complete keyboard mapping can be googled up or included in some manuals.
@@NPlay64 Phuu yes it`s ESC, the only one I didn`t try, it was contraintuitive for me. LOL Thanks mate, appreciate your help.
@@radovan_mladic Mate you're welcome. Good luck on your 8-bit journey (y)
Don't know how to load a game.
If none of the methods work for you, still can always check YT64 online C64 emulator:
