The early releases were top notch. Delta and Armalyte were 2 of my favourites
Armalyte is a sublime shoot em up ! One of the C64's best
Great video! I love these documentary’s, I know they are harder to make!
Thanks 😊👍👍
Another great work, congrats!
We'll be learning in every video, thanks you, Bastich 😁
No problem my friend glad you liked it 👍
@@BastichB64K Your material is always interesting, and very welcome 😁
Thank you very much. Very entertaining and informative. I like your presentation, your personal, individual style. As a fan of Creatures and Armalyte, I had to watch this! :)
Cheers thank you very much , Armalyte & Creatures are total C64 treasures in my book 🕹️👍👍👍
Excellent doc, enjoyed it a lot, cheers!
Thank you 👍 glad you had fun watching it
By the way, Quedex was called Mindroll over here in North America. Stavros also created a little known game in 1985 for ALA Software called Joe The Whizz Kid, as well as Rainbow Dragon for Firebird in 1988.
However, Rainbow dragon did get somewhat negative reviews.
I know of joe the whizz kid but never knew about rainbow dragon , interesting 😁👍
It was nearly called Mindroll in the UK until Stavros and I came up with Quedex. Stavros wanted The Quest for Ultimate Dexterity but I decided it was too long.
@@paulcooper6183 And where is Stravos now? And what is his life story?
Great documentary. I played nearly all their games but Hawkeye and Delta stands out. Great games!
Thalamus had so many gems on the C64 although the Zzap64 ratings on those games are very sus 😂😂😂👍 Creatures and Hawkeye were definitely favs of mine
@@BastichB64K D'oh! I forgot Creatures! I still have my original. 😁
Hey Buddy! Great Doco. I know this is your early stuff but I have only recently joined. I intend to watch all you Documentaries. Loving the content! You are the man!!! Awesome work! Keep it up mate!! 😁
Thx dude appreciated, yeah those early ones are bit dodgy but they get better so please stick around and enjoy 👍👍
Your videos of these Documentaries are very very good. Still waiting for Sierra. Thanks
Thank you very much 👍
outstanding mini doc' great work! enjoyed every single minute. it was hawkeye that put thalamus on the radar for me with the demo from zapp 64.
Cheers thx , I have a lot of good memories with their games 🕹️👍
Another great documentary which surprised me with the amount of releases by the company.
Wish their 16bit releases were put through the quality control a bit better but like you I always accociated the company with top quality 8bit wares.
Yeah their 16 bit output is dodgy at best ... A couple decent ones but the C64 stuff is ace👍
Excellent documentary
Thank you 👍👍
First class research. Bravo. Excellent watch.
Thank you , glad you enjoyed it
I was a huge fan of Thalamus, Zzap! and Oli Frey, and I had no idea of the connections! 😂
I knew of some of the connections but until I did the vid i didnt realise how connected they all were so it was very interesting to research 😀👍
Awesome. One of my favourite software development companies on the old C64.
I agree, but then I'm a bit biased......:-)
all your content is lovely.
Hi. Good material. Interesting story! And a nie humor. The only thing I'd correct next time is the EQ of the background music in the talking parts (lower the midtones so they don't interfere with the speech). :) Overall it's a good work to fit all this info in a video of only 17 minutes. Congrats!
Cheers thx for watching , yes I have corrected the music balance for my other documentarys cheers
@@BastichB64K Just to let you know - I've watched this video again yesterday 28.02.2022) and my like was gone. I've re-liked it. YT messed up and canceled my like.
Brilliant video . Finally got to complete Delta with a trainer , i could only manage to get to around stage 25 back in 1987 .
Thx , I've never managed to finish it ! Too damn tough lol
I vaguely remember some of this. The Canonbury Offices did not look like that though 😊
I remember the first time I loaded up Hawkeye. I couldn't believe that it was running on the C64. Totally blew my mind! Also, loving the skillz of your wee one at the end of the vid! :)
Thx 😁 she's getting pretty good for a 3 year old . Hawkeye was amazing loved it so much
Thanks for that.
My pleasure , thanks for checking it out ✅
Thalamus are absolutely legendary! For me, their best games were by stavros, cyberdyne and the rowlands.
I agree to everything you said 🕹️👍
On 28.02.2022 my like from 9 months ago was gone. YT messed up and canceled my like. I've re-liked the video.
Thats weird but thanks for re-liking the video much appreciated
Love your C64 content !! Keep it coming !! ;-)
Thank you kindly 😊
I played the hell out of Creatures and Creatures 2.. Love 'em!
Excellent games 👍👍
@@BastichB64K Indeed.. Thanks for sharing!
Excellent documentary, l did not know about the origin of the company before. 👍
Thx , I knew there was a Zzap64 connection but i didn't know the full story until I started info gathering ... It's pretty facinating! , Cheers for watching 👍
Yet another excellent video, full of good energy! I'd read that Stavros wrote a book about body building. Anyone remember GALACTIC and his efforts on ELF MANIA (both on Amiga)?
Galactic was pretty good 👍👍
Very nice, thanks!
This looks fun. I'll fact check when I get time :-)
Speaking of retrograde, i've found multiple compilation files with that game on it. None of the files i've come across seem to be compatible with the c64 mini. What would your advice be on that?
Have you tried using retrograde_ad.d64 to change it to original drive emulation , I find that solves most compatibility issues . Also try csdb.dk they have a bunch of different versions of the game
@@BastichB64K Thank you.
Loved the video. Just subscribed. But a bit of constructive criticism: Your voice started sounding very monotonous fairly early in the video. I recommend you add natural breaks and vary your tone and pitch a bit to accentuate whereever possible.
Thanks for the comments 👍
@@BastichB64K Don't listen to him! Your accent is amazing mate. Cheers!
Thx my friend 😄👍
@@greenbert No there is nothing wrong with his accent. I completely agree. But i found it monotonous and provided well-meant non-trolling advice. I only wish the best for this channel.
Rumour has it Stavros can be found locked under the stairs at Housemarque
😂🤣 I also heard he was a checoslovakian border guard while doing part-time used car sales out of Bosnia .... Those are unconfirmed 😂
@@BastichB64K That is wrong though, he was on the Finnish border in the Finnish army between Delta & Quedex.
@@paulcooper6183 😂👍
@@BastichB64K After the success of Delta I was waiting for him to finish his 1 year national service before I could get him to work on his next game even though we didn't know what form Quedex was going to take at that time of course.
@@paulcooper6183 that must have been a long wait ! Quedex turned out pretty good though 👍
