Merci , merci, grand merci 🥰
More information about Lara Fabian: Lara is recognized as one of the best vocalist ever seen on earth and all professionals list her in the top vocalist tier with Barbra, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Lisa Fischer, .... In my personal opinion, she is even the best. There are a few vocal characteristics that are her signature: her famous resonance for instance that allows her to sing acapella without mic in venues with 8,000 attendees. Her nickname in the singing world is "the ring" due to this. I would also list her amazing phrasing, breath management and her pleasant tone even when belting in her upper register. So she is one of the best vocalist ever, but on top of that, she adds a few things that make her an absolute package with no equivalence: • she speaks 4 languages fluently (french, italian, english, spanish) and has sung in 12 languages in total • she is an amazing songwriter and wrote lyrics for most her songs, in the 4 languages she speaks. She often co-composes the music with the composer. • she acts and performs on stage as nobody else, she colors and reveals the meaning of every single word in the songs, and her ability to emote, to draw you in is second to none • she is the sweetest soul on earth, very humble, down to earth and benevolent. She likes to meet others, and her fans are always pleasantly surprised when this happens A quick background on her and her career: She is belgian, but also has italian roots (her mother is from sicilia). She was raised in both countries so she speaks both french and italian as native languages. She has been classically trained on vocal, piano and songs composition for 10 years ( from 8 to 18) in the Brussels Royal Conservatory. She is still having vocal lessons and training several times a week today. She started her career in Canada in the early 90s, more precisely in Quebec, the french-speaking part of Canada. She now lives in Montreal and has also Canadian citizenship She became very famous there and then conquered France in 1997 (she topped charts there and some of her songs such as "Je t'aime" or "Tout" became classics of the french music). in 2000, she was about to penetrate the US Market, with a lot of media initial interest. Her first english song (I will love again), a pop dance song, reached number one on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart and number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100. Her Album ("Lara Fabian") was about to become a massive hit, and the concert "From Lara With Love" was recorded to be broadcasted everywhere in the US. This concert is legendary and the song you just reviewed is from this concert. But a dispute with Sony on artistry directions, and the will from Celine Dion's staff to block her progress in the US, completely broke this plan. She thus refocused back on Europe and made huge success there, extending her reach to Eastern Europe and Asia where she became an absolute superstar thru her collaboration with Igor Krutoy during several years. She is also a star in Brazil as her song "Love By Grace" used as the soundtrack for a very famous soap opera topped the charts for months. Many of her songs became classics and were covered by the other singing legends: Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Josh Groban, … With her success in Europe, Brazil and part of Asia, she is the inspiration of the new generation of vocalists: most of them are coming from there. Thru their covers of Lara Fabian songs, USA is now rediscovering her. She is Dimash's idol: I’ve read somewhere that, when he was a child, he was listening her songs every night to get asleep. He covered many of her songs (that she performed originally ; she also wrote some of these) Out of my mind I can list: • Adagio, • Mademoiselle Hyde, • Know, • Love of tired swans, She also wrote the lyrics of his song « Your Love ». She covered « Love is like a dream » before him (song from Igor Krutoy originally performed by Alla Pugacheva) And they performed Ti Amo Cosi together with Aida Garafulina. This is a song that she performed originally with Dmitriy Hvorostovsky and Alina Yaroyava then again later with Dmitriy and Sumi Jo, before this new trio with Dimash and Aida. Dimash is now also working with Igor Krutoy who came back from retirement and composed severals songs for him. Many other top vocalists from the current generation covered her songs: • Floor Jansen (Adagio) • Polina Gagarina (Adagio, Je t’aime) • Diana Ankudinova (Tomorrow is a lie) • Morissette Amon (Broken Vow) • Gabriel Henrique (Love by Grace) • Cakra Khan (Broken Vow) • Katrina Velarde (Broken Vow) • Giulia Falcone (Adagio, Caruso, Je suis malade) • Almira from 4th Impact (Broken Vow) • .... Sorry if I was long, but I hope this gives some context on Lara. If you explore more of her songs, you will soon be hooked, I'm sure.
I loved your reaction! In my opinion, Lara Fabian is one of the best vocalists of all time. I cannot recommend her performance of Caruso enough. It's a legendary song, which has been covered numerous times, but her rendition is just otherworldly.
The ending, where Lara kind of collects herself and returns to the room, is to me a great part of the experience of this performance. Sadly it is often cut off, obviously because music and singing has stopped, but i think it shows how immersion by the performer makes an impact.
I saw her perform live and I was literally covered in goosebumps and she sings with such feeling that tears were in everyone’s eyes and people would gasp air along with her…it was an honor to listen to her live.
I have to disagree with you on that there. I pretty much felt everything she wanted to tell with the song and it's more than enough with storytelling. Also she's not a book writer or narrator of some kind. Just like you said, she's a *vocalist*
This might be the 100th reaction I've watched for this song for over 2 years lol, I just can't get enough 😅 it literally makes me giddy in anticipation 👏👏👏 yay!
The American music industry "mafia" in fact SABOTAGED her career in the USA in favor of her competition Celine Dion, even going so far as intimidating venue owners. Not a "shame"but a criminal act, typical of Sony Music.
I sooo much enjoy watching professional reactions, I always learn. ty, this was great!!! For me she is the best I have ever experienced in 40 years of an amateur's music exploration, and one experiences Lara...you do not hear her, see her, you feel her. Never watch anything NOT live of hers. You will be diminished. I call her the Sorceress Queen, she puts us under a spell and then plays with our emotions at will. We are mesmerized. spellbound...unable to get out of Lara's world. And when the song is over - we start it over and play it again. We search for and listen to her body of work, we tell our friends, we share her art. And then? We come and watch reactions to her videos trying to recapture the moment it happened to us. For it was so sweet, so sublime, game-changing. Millions can tell you how they feel cheated, sickened, that they did not discover Lara sooner...I am counted in that group. She IS the Sorcerer Queen, long may she reign. The best of anyone I have heard or seen, anywhere, anytime...ever. Most of links in this post below are newly restored and of high quality and, importantly, all have English subtitles when not sung in English. Have fun...you are screwed now, she will have you. "Adagio" -ua-cam.com/video/bqoS-KOLV_4/v-deo.html - is a beautiful and powerful song, a very old classical piece written by Tomaso Albinoni (most would say) which she resurrected and wrote lyrics to. Her biggest hit really, and an insane demonstration of vocal flawlessness and passion by our then young Queen...long may she reign. ua-cam.com/video/BP2KnLemT78/v-deo.html - turn CC on - Lara Fabian - "Caruso" (In Italian with English lyrics translations) Great Song about the great Caruso's dying days with his young wife. An Italian classic covered by, well, everybody. Lara crushes it. Best version ever and that includes Pavarotti, whom I adore, so I am saying a lot there. ua-cam.com/video/kJBGCI8aSE4/v-deo.html - Lara Fabian-Concert From Lara With Love "Broken Vow" (English) She wrote this, bring tissue. Lara attempts to teach us how to live through betrayal. ua-cam.com/video/mcmhCfH9OfQ/v-deo.html - turn CC on - Lara Fabian "Perdere L'amore"...Losing Love... (Italian with English subs) Another Italian classic, destroyed by Lara in perfect Italian. It is hard to emphasis how big this song is in Italy, a great song, covered by zillions...there is non better than this. ua-cam.com/video/Vv8XFXKXRLI/v-deo.html "You're Not From Here" English - Maybe my favorite Lara song. The 100th time you see\hear it will still feel like the first. Lara is definitely the deep end of the pool. ua-cam.com/video/DuSDdjU4S8M/v-deo.html - Lara Fabian- "Mademoiselle Hyde" - live 2016 (In English with Deutsch/Português subs) She co-wrote this with the maestro, Igor Krutoy. This is the most recent of the videos (2016) and shows a maturing Lara killing it. Great song, evocative, as she plays split personalities on stage, and Lara leaves us shredded. ua-cam.com/video/l826rlBOn9w/v-deo.html - Lara Fabian - "Je T'aime" (I Love you) - (In French with English subtitle) Everyone in France knows this song by heart. She wrote it. Two versions here. One, here in this paragraph, is a great live version in its own right, and needs to bee seen and heard, the second is from a live performance where the audience takes over the song and sings "We love you" to Lara in place over the actual lyrics "I love you" and a broken up Lara attempts to sing counterpart to her adoring audience. It is insanely powerful...Tissues required. I recommend doing the last one, the 2nd version of "Je T'aime" below.....last. By then, you will be in a life long relationship with Lara...you will not make it through the song. ua-cam.com/video/J309uTn8EsU/v-deo.html - Lara Fabian - Je t'aime _ with English subtitles maybe watch this last (see one up from here for "why").
Thanks for recommending my restored versions. I would also like to recommend "LLORA" from the 2010 Moscow concert (I added subtitles to that one too) : ua-cam.com/video/q7UPDnmPmW8/v-deo.html
I was one of your subscribers who recommended this reaction and I'm so glad you did. it This is the most emotional performance I've ever witnessed and lyrics I've ever heard. As a muso, I've watched this over 50 times and it still brings tears to my eyes. You did a great job breaking it down. I love your analysis. Can't wait for more!
As some one who found Lara just as you have ( though much earlier on in my UA-cam journey) I can tell you that you are in for a wonderful ride. She truly is remarkable and I’ve been reacting to her for nearly a year and the well isn’t even close to dry. Have fun!
A ride indeed, dear Brandon ! According to my searches, I have counted and recorded in my bank of her disco/videography, 293 different songs that she sang in her 37 years's career ( from her debut with her father at 14). Her originals count for about 50% of them and the others are covers. Can't be 100% sure of this search since I'm still finding rare and inedited gems from time to time in the last few months. That woman has been singing ALL her life. Take care ! 😎
I've watched countless reactions to this performance! This was definitely one of my favorites! It's impossible not to get completely sucked into that performance, her delivery is unmatched. It's one of the most incredible vocal performances of all time in my opinion.
her emotions, the interpretation of the song is so amazing. I really entered and can feel the anger and sadness that is felt in that song ....and once it's done she's still in the emotion of the song. next please Adagio. love your reaction and analysis 💖
Thanks for your beautiful and positive reaction. If i may have a suggestion : 1/ Adagio - from the concert Laura with love - In English - master class 2/ Caruso - same concert - in Italian - maybe one of the best version of this song 3/ Broken Vow - same concert - in english - very touching
Wonderful reaction of this brilliant artist! Lara is one of a kind! There is a video of her in Paris in 2001 singing Je t'aime. It would not necessarily be a song to react to her voice, but if you want to react to her audience's amazing reaction to their much beloved singer. It remains one of the greatest back and forths between an artist and her audience in performance history. Also Caruso, Adagio, and so many more. She does sing in English as well.
It's so nice to look at a sincere reaction and lively emotions) You are very positive, it's great) Lara is incredible, I think you will find a huge number of songs that you will want to record a reaction to) PS: I would recommend Papa Can You Hear Me & Piece of Sky (Yentl Medley Live at Montreal 1997)
Yes they are nice but nowhere near the performer singing here., this is the most emotional song ever . Hands down. Barbara Streisand is fantastic, but I bet she could not sing this like this !!!!
This is my first time here, and it was such a joy watching you react to Lara's voice! I am thrilled you were introduced to her, because, in my opinion, there is NONE like her. Thank you for this video, I'm here to stay!
Nice Reaction thanks. I suggest "Broken Vow" an original song composed by Lara. One amazing version is "Lara Fabian-Concert From Lara With Love Broken Vow"
Did I ever mentioned how I truly enjoyed your review? You completely understand the talent Lara possesses. Truly, I’ve watched it at least 5 times. I didn’t want to miss your many details and appreciation of Lara’s superb performance. Your face revealed so much…(in awe) it seemed, your review I gave a 9+. Your my second, ( a close 1).. Thank you so very much, I learned quite a bit.. I also absolutely loved you Adagio review. I rewound that review quite a few times as well. You make it enjoyable to watch your reviews. I hope we’ll watch you review more of Lara’s songs. Thank you again, you are definitely appreciated!👌🥰
i keep going between this performance and the caruso one from the same concert. I cant decide which is is better for me. They are both equally as perfect!!!!!!!!! stunning performer!
It was a very nice and good reaction. I loved it. The song, for sure, is beautiful and above all beautifully performed. As if it was hers... in a way, it became hers. But it's an older song. Lara talked about language, in one of the videos. She actually speaks several languages. I think you have to watch "Adagio" by her (Dimash did a cover of it) and "Caruso" (about the opera singer I think). And then maybe the duet with Johnny Hallyday. And then her "Je T'aime" live... but there, it is especially the interaction with the public which is magnificent. Anyway, besides being instructive, it's a real pleasure to see your emotions while listening. You should however watch the videos until the end. Here, Lara's way of coming back to herself is very touching, too.
UNFORTUNATELY, this is one Lara performance, that should never be cut short, because the viewer is deprived of the opportunity to witness her leaving emotive character, and of course, your subsequent reaction. Dimash, on his best day, would never be able to express true lyric driven emotion. He has a brilliant vocal range, and utilizes many vocal/breath tricks, but it falls quite short of this masterclass. IMO. Hearing Lara perform in a different language, won't be any issue, given that she's quite the linguist. She has a few vocal characteristics that are her signature: her famous resonance for instance that allows her to sing without amplification in venues with like 8,000 attendees. Hence, her nickname among her peers as "the ring"! Fabian is a full lyric soprano with a vocal range that spans three octaves from C3 to A5 in live performances. She is multilingual, in fact she speaks Italian, French, Spanish, Sicilian, English and Flemish. She has also sung in Azerbaijani, German, Greek, Hebrew, Portuguese, Russian, and Turkish. • she is an amazing song writer and wrote lyrics for most her songs, in the 6 languages she speaks. She often co-composes music. • Her ability to emote, to draw you in is second to none • She is the sweetest soul, and quite humble. She 💖 to meet her fans, which always blows their collective minds.😆 She is Belgian, but also has Italian roots (her mother is from Sicilia). She was raised in both countries. She has been classically trained on vocal, piano and, composition for more than 10 years ( 8 to 18yrs) in the Brussels Royal Conservatory. She still attends vocal training several times a week, even today. These are open classes with other students, not private lessons. She started her career in Canada in the early 90s, more precisely in Quebec. She now lives in Montreal, and possesses duel (Belgium/Canadian) citizenship. In 2000, she was attempting to penetrate the US Market. Her first English release "I will love again", a pop dance tune, reached #1 on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart and number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100. Her Album ("Lara Fabian") was about to become a massive hit, and the concert "From Lara With Love" was recorded to be broadcasted everywhere in the US. However, a dispute with Sony on artistic direction, and the determination of Celine Dion's production team to block her progress in the US, essentially ended the plan. I remember that when that album was released, she was being presented as the next Celine Dion. Following that BS, she focused back on Europe and found huge success, later extending into Eastern Europe, then Asia where she became an absolute superstar. Many of her songs became classics and were covered by the other singing legends: Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Josh Groban, … Many other top vocalists of today have covered her songs: • Floor Jansen (Adagio) • Polina Gagarina (Adagio, Je t’aime) • Diana Ankudinova (Tomorrow is a lie) • Morissette Amon (Broken Vow) • Gabriel Henrique (Love by Grace) • Cakra Khan (Broken Vow) • Katrina Velarde (Broken Vow) • Giulia Falcone (Adagio, Caruso, Je suis malade) • .... Today, she is 52 yo, and quite active! 😊✌
Thank you for reacting to this, and yes, you should react to many of her masterpieces. And make sure that you react to her live performances. You won’t regret it. Her live performances are genuinely soul-touching, and she should be studied by anybody striving to be an Exquisite Singer, performer, singer-songwriter, and so on. Last but not least, she is a beautiful human being and a role model for a new generation of artists, such as Dimash and others. Thanks again! #LaraFabian 💛💚💙🇧🇷
A huge Lara Fabian fan here, listening to just a short clip, she nailed it - now that's talent, if you close your eyes and listen some parts you would think it is really Lara's voice.........especially the end of the intro.
Thank you very much for this analysis - very informative for me!. She is incredible and I love(even more) listening to her singing and acting which certainty affects the listener... WOW ...
Lara Fabian is a unique and genuine artist, probably the best current female vocalist . Each of her performances is more than remarkable...she gives a masterpiece of emotional and up-level technical perfection. She acts every words and delivers each sound with the heart. Unreachable storyteller, she sings in italian, french and english which she equally can perfectly speaks. I warmly recommend you to react to " Broken vow", one of her own original mind-blowing creation.
Two things... I love Lara and I loved your reaction. You were intensely listening and enjoying this so much that your clamped hands turned your knuckles white towards the end. BRAVO! Try her Italian in Caruso.
You missed the whole piano intro that really sets the (downward) tone of the song! Then again, at the end, watching Lara's facial expression - she was so in-character, it takes several moments after the song ends for her to gather herself.
She has such a silky smooth voice at times, and then adds in grit when she wants, it's really impressive her control over everything. Tone, pitch, volume, she can just make her voice do whatever she wants moment to moment. The thing that really blew me away after listening to a few songs was how she can run up from a low-ish chest voice to crazy high head voice and it's impossible to pinpoint where she made the transition. I always appreciate when a singer can manage that well, but she's one of the few where I can't even tell when it happened. Je suis malade is such a heartbreaking and beautiful song, and she does it so well. The silver lining to the lyrics is the guy who wrote it did end up with the girl he wrote it about.
Lara Fabian is mastery in action. Speaking of, perhaps next time it would be a good thing to include the lead to the first words (musical introduction and all that good stuff), as well as the moments that follow the end of the song, with the crowd's reaction and the SINGER's reaction and 'coming together' at the end. It would make a more complete reaction to include the whole ... well ... song to react to. And, yes, Lara Fabian is absolutely fantastic and well worth more (hopefully complete ...) songs reacted to.
Thank you for your perceptive analysis. I have hesitated to recommend this performance to my friends because Lara projects the despair, almost the self-loathing of the story so well that I fear the listener will come away feeling depressed. But that is Lara's artistry! Not all songs are meant to make us feel joy.
Even as a retired guy who has decided to go down the rabbit hole of vocals but knows very little about music. I think this has to be one of the best performances ever. I've watched this many times and have always wondered something. At the beginning of her last note you can see tiny movements of her lips. Is she making micro-corrections to maintain the pitch or is that just an involuntary singing thing? Thx for the good reaction.
She is holding a straight tone until the reattack...the vocal folds need to receive constant info to hold the tone, so by making slight movements she is letting her muscles know that, yes I want you to hold this, otherwise they will begin to strain and change (perhaps crack). Sort of like a weight lifter who picks up a lot of weight...the longer he holds the weight the more he/she will begin to shake from the strain. She is letting her muscles (vocal folds) know that everything is fine just keep doing your job. Shows how well trained she is..."The Vocalyst" can probably explain it better but this is how I explain it to my choral groups. Good catch on noticing that...
I've been on a glut of watching people react to Lara Fabian some of whom are simply music lovers, some who are involved in the arts in some way (performing arts, instrumentalists, involved in the studio) and others, like you, who are singers and/or vocal teachers. As with everything there are some who I enjoy more than others and you've just fallen into that category. I'll be taking a look at some of your other reactions though I am looking forward to future Lara reactions. I understand the burning desire, when introduced to a new singer or band that you thoroughly enjoy, to dive right in to listening to more of their music. There are at least a couple of reactors who just decided to watch the entirety of this concert, From Lara With Love, at one time and react to every song. In the meantime, keep up the good work and thank you for sharing your time and knowledge with us.
Hello, out of curiosity I watched your reaction videos started 1 month ago and the truth is that you only made real artists! And then there you have just done Lara Fabian, the idol of the one who is currently considered the best singer in the world, Dimash. Yes she is her idol and if you come back to her you will understand why. She is a fabulous artist who now has 30 years of career behind her. She continues to sing and will shortly resume a world tour that she started in 2019 and stopped because of the Covid. She conveys emotions like no other in her songs and is one of the most beautiful voices of all time. I hope to continue to follow you with her. Be well.
I saw your "Adagio" reaction and came here to check this one. Lara is absolutely amazing. His body reaction after the song finishes is something that have to be noted. Love your speaking (so clear!!!) and expressions. Your smile is also gorgeous. Keep your good work here. Some Lara's performances suggestions: "Broken vow", "You're not from here" and "Love by grace".
Okay. 'Adagio' is in English, and it is one of the few songs both Lara and Dimash have performed, so you might enjoy reacting to Lara's version, which came first, and then Dimash's. In one reaction video! Lara also sang with Dimash and Aida Garifullina (operatic soprano) at Igor Krutoy's birthday concert - look for 'Te Amo Cosi.' That one is in Italian. Lara doesn't try to compete with Aida as an operatic singer, but instead infuses the song with a warm tone that is very contemporary in character; and somehow it all works wonderfully with all three contributing very different voices and different techniques. Which is Krutoy in a nutshell. He *is* a classical composer. But he's also a contemporary composer, and he often mixes many styles in one song, too - even mixing in ethnic modalities. Cheers!
Actually ma’m, Lara’s Nue 2002 concert is also a great intro for you. Lara’s sensitivity comes through at times her emotions really comes through, because of some sensitive personal issues… But a joy to watch, her beauty, her remarkable instrument are at full display. Her. Connection with her audience is remarkable, where ever she performs.. Also has any one suggest her Italian version of Adagio? Especially the one at the square? I still watch it often, still in awe I might add. I just discovered Lara 4 years ago, by accident! I became “hooked “ ever since. I am now a lifelong fan!! Here voice captivates me whether she talks ( interviews) or sings, she gets my full attention 😆…
Quelle puissance vocal qui laisse passer une formidable émotion , merci Lara sur les paroles Serge Lama . Merci à vous de faire découvrir cette chanteuse
Thank you for this reaction. Lara is surprisingly very underrated artist. But here in Europe and Central Asian countries she is a goddess) May I suggest you to react to her performing “Caruso”, “Perdere L’amore”, “Adajio", «Broken Vow” (she is an author of this song), “You not from here”. Better use this concert “From Lara with love “ or something from 2000-2002. Thanks again. As always very professional and on point!👍
Nice reaction video, thanks a lot! I appreciate so much as well that you react to it while letting the singer sing, and then afterwards you do your analysis with pausing + explanations. Personally I feel this is much nicer than interrupting the whole time during the reaction. 😅
To be honest, among the 4 greatest singers of myself's Whitney-Mariah-Celine-Lara, I'm supremely crazy about Lara's voice. It's just too warm even at those high 5th-octave notes. In my opinion, Lara is the best Full Lirico Soprano ever if we are talking about both her technique and her natural voice.
Thank you Bethany another great reaction from my newly adopted voice teacher and reactor---not flirting I'm just 84 years old and still very much appreciate your genuine and happy personality as well as your total music ability. And, I love Lara Fabian so what a great combination.
She is so incredible live!!! Have been fortunate enough to hear her perform this 3 different times!,, check out “Caruso” or “Adagio” or “broken vow” in English
I see a lot of reactor mostly they don't react technically and tactically of singer obviously you are the only one so far I see giving all details about ability of singer and I really appreciate thank you
Did you notice her face when she finished that wonderful number. She was still in the moment for many seconds after . Next try Caruso, then Adagio, then Broken Vow. She is an amazing artist.
I loved you reaction! so great to listen you speaking so clear and calm. To me, as a english student is very good to learn e pratice my listening. Thank you
Ok, when I see a voice coach react to our Lara, I would suggest just watch THE BEST concert “ from Lara with Love”, that’s it!!! They’ll be blown away, in awe actually, I’m so sure of it!! They’ll see and watch a masterpiece of a performance!!!! Each song IS! There’s no denying that. Albeit it was a long time ago, doesn’t matter. When they see and watch her now (2023) they’ll be amazed at her current voice hasn’t age as much as one would think, noting the years between then, late nineties/2000, and today 2023…☺️😆👏👏👏👏👏👍👌 I’ve truly truly enjoyed your reviews on Adagio’s (my 😮 favorite), and Je Suis Malade.. you made me chuckle a bit as well, when the unexpected in her style had you taken by surprise. Thank you once again. I truly hope you will review more of Lara’s songs.. 🙏 much appreciated ……
Nice reaction, you can hear Lara Fabian in English with her own songs, ADAGIO LIVE, BROKEN VOW, YOU'RE NOT FROM HERE, LOVE BY GRACE and dozens more. In Italian, CARUSO, PERDERE L'AMORE and in Spanish QUEDATE, and LLORA. Lara Fabian is one of the most beautiful voices in the world. Her stage presence, her body expressions, her emotionality and the power of her voice are incomparable. Without forgetting MADEMOISELLE HYDE whose lyrics she wrote on the music of IGOR KRUTOY Merci de Montréal.
What’s really impressive about your reaction is your ability to see things most of us ( I assume I am not the only one ) are completely unable to see . Your reaction and comments are wonderful .
You must allow Lara performances to start from the very beginning to the very end. With this song you could see her getting in to "character" at the beginning during the instrumental entrance. Then to watch her disengage from singing this song. She started the performance even before she opened her mouth and ended the song way after the music stopped. INCREDIBLE!
I think you will enjoy je t'aime as it shows how her fans adore her I also like adagio. Loved the video great to see your passion and your knowledge. Thank you.
Holaaa. De Lara cualquier canción te gustará ,Broken wow,,Ti amo Cosi ,con Dimasch ,Aída ,....Par amour, .....reacciona más a Lara ,es un placer oírla y tu análisis.🤝😊
Excellent reaction/analysis. You don't have to apologize for getting totally sucked in by Fabian. We see ourselves in you. She is fluent in French (Belgian father), Italian (Sicilian mother, first 5 yrs spent in Italy, technically Fabian's first language), English (American grandfather) and Spanish (why not?). She composes & writes in all four languages. She also sings very competently according to native speakers in 8 more. (I know she understands a few more languages like Portuguese & Flemish/Dutch but is not fluent.) Calls herself a "songwriter with a voice." The amazing thing about Malade is that it's a cover that she tweaked in some pretty substantial & brilliant ways. 10 yrs training at Royal Conservatory in Belgium. I want to comment on one thing: I agree that on the surface, Malade does not show the true breadth & depth of her talents. She has sterling technique, an ENORMOUS toolbox, remarkable facility + astonishing artistic instincts. Play with registers? Placement? Color? Dynamics? At the level of phrase or even word? Easy-peesy. I think Malade does show that facility/control. In spades. But wait until you hear her truly belt. She's not nicknamed The Ring for nothin'. I know which songs will be most recommended to you, but I'm going to give you three other fan favorites that I think will be better contrasts to Malade. (But you're going to be so addicted, you'll eventually make your way through her entire oeuvre, yes? 😉) There is a chanel called "Macadamia" that has most of the performances from this same concert upscaled & the French/Italian/Spanish songs subtitled. I'll be back with a couple of links for you. Sorry I went on so long. Just excited to have discovered you discovering Fabian. 😁 🖖🏽
1of3 You're Not From Here, English, she wrote. I'm desperate to understand it better. She does INCREDIBLY difficult things, but SOMEHOW keeps it sounding so easy-breezy & gentle. She keeps what she's doing so seemless. How?!?! ua-cam.com/video/Vv8XFXKXRLI/v-deo.html
2of3 Pedere L'Amore, cover, Italian with subs. Everyone will be recommending Caruso (which is amazing, resonance, overtones) but this one has the who dynamic spectrum. It's incredible. ua-cam.com/video/mcmhCfH9OfQ/v-deo.html
3of3 Yentl Medley: Papa, Can You Hear Me + Piece of Sky. Upscaled. Amazing non-stop performance of two notoriously difficult songs. ua-cam.com/video/zW8lalHMwxk/v-deo.html
I enjoyed so much your reaction. I really like the editing of your video, without background music or video effects. It's super quiet, and I loved it. P.S. you have won a subscriber
I'm French and I have to compliment you: you are the first "not French" reviewer who actually perfectly pronounced the title 🙂
You are THE best at reviewing artist, especially my favored Ms. Fabian! Thank you so very much much!
More information about Lara Fabian:
Lara is recognized as one of the best vocalist ever seen on earth and all professionals list her in the top vocalist tier with Barbra, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Lisa Fischer, ....
So she is one of the best vocalist ever, but on top of that, she adds a few things that make her an absolute package with no equivalence:
• she speaks 4 languages fluently (french, italian, english, spanish) and has sung in 12 languages in total
• she is an amazing songwriter and wrote lyrics for most her songs, in the 4 languages she speaks. She often co-composes the music with the composer.
• she acts and performs on stage as nobody else, she colors and reveals the meaning of every single word in the songs, and her ability to emote, to draw you in is second to none
• she is the sweetest soul on earth, very humble, down to earth and benevolent. She likes to meet others, and her fans are always pleasantly surprised when this happens
A quick background on her and her career:
She is belgian, but also has italian roots (her mother is from sicilia).
She now lives in Montreal and has also Canadian citizenship
She became very famous there and then conquered France in 1997 (she topped charts there and some of her songs such as "Je t'aime" or "Tout" became classics of the french music).
in 2000, she was about to penetrate the US Market, with a lot of media initial interest.
Many of her songs became classics and were covered by the other singing legends: Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Josh Groban, …
With her success in Europe, Brazil and part of Asia, she is the inspiration of the new generation of vocalists: most of them are coming from there.
Thru their covers of Lara Fabian songs, USA is now rediscovering her.
She is Dimash's idol: I’ve read somewhere that, when he was a child, he was listening her songs every night to get asleep.
He covered many of her songs (that she performed originally ; she also wrote some of these)
Out of my mind I can list:
• Adagio,
• Mademoiselle Hyde,
• Know,
• Love of tired swans,
She also wrote the lyrics of his song « Your Love ».
She covered « Love is like a dream » before him (song from Igor Krutoy originally performed by Alla Pugacheva)
And they performed Ti Amo Cosi together with Aida Garafulina.
Many other top vocalists from the current generation covered her songs:
• Floor Jansen (Adagio)
• Polina Gagarina (Adagio, Je t’aime)
• Diana Ankudinova (Tomorrow is a lie)
• Morissette Amon (Broken Vow)
• Gabriel Henrique (Love by Grace)
• Cakra Khan (Broken Vow)
• Katrina Velarde (Broken Vow)
• Giulia Falcone (Adagio, Caruso, Je suis malade)
• Almira from 4th Impact (Broken Vow)
• ....
Sorry if I was long, but I hope this gives some context on Lara.
If you explore more of her songs, you will soon be hooked, I'm sure.
Excellent thank you for this wonderfully loving recap
I was just in this thread and wanted to take the opportunity to say hi!
Thanks for mentioning Lisa Fischer. One of the absolute best and so underrated.
@@diegoshepherd3464 yes fame and artistry or vocal skills are not related at all unfortunately- this is the case here for Lara or Lisa
The best comment I’ve ever read 👍
I loved your reaction! In my opinion, Lara Fabian is one of the best vocalists of all time. I cannot recommend her performance of Caruso enough. It's a legendary song, which has been covered numerous times, but her rendition is just otherworldly.
I was just in this thread and wanted to take the opportunity to say hi!
Couldn't agree more, give me her rendition of "Caruso" anytime anyday
There is so much songs that are amazing: broken vow, adagio, you're not from here,...
up!
I agree any other rendition I hear and compare it to this jewel,…….hands down,…….THE best version!!!👌🥰❤️
The ending, where Lara kind of collects herself and returns to the room, is to me a great part of the experience of this performance. Sadly it is often cut off, obviously because music and singing has stopped, but i think it shows how immersion by the performer makes an impact.
The lovely introduction was cut off as well.
Lara a une voie extraordinaire et vous madame vous êtes pleine de féminité et de connaissance musicale ... merci
I saw her perform live and I was literally covered in goosebumps and she sings with such feeling that tears were in everyone’s eyes and people would gasp air along with her…it was an honor to listen to her live.
Laura is a world class vocalist, but her storytelling ability is second to none.
I have to disagree with you on that there. I pretty much felt everything she wanted to tell with the song and it's more than enough with storytelling. Also she's not a book writer or narrator of some kind. Just like you said, she's a *vocalist*
I'm a 78 year old man from Texas and I can't watch this video without tearing up. Floor Jansen of Nightwish affects me the same way.
I enjoyed your comments, and your expressions.I Think she is so wonderful, and talented. My new favorite. Thank You.
I enjoyed your critique and reaction. As an aside, you have the most beautiful smile!
This might be the 100th reaction I've watched for this song for over 2 years lol, I just can't get enough 😅 it literally makes me giddy in anticipation 👏👏👏 yay!
Lara its a Diva !! No wonder Dimash was inspired from her. It's a shame American music industry didn't embrace her art!!!
The American music industry "mafia" in fact SABOTAGED her career in the USA
in favor of her competition Celine Dion, even going so far as intimidating
venue owners.
Not a "shame"but a criminal act, typical of Sony Music.
I think what I'm going to say sums it up well. For me, the two biggest voices I heard were: male Fredy Mercury female lara fabian
I would also like to recommend "LLORA" from the 2010 Moscow concert (I added subtitles to that one too) :
ua-cam.com/video/q7UPDnmPmW8/v-deo.html
If i may have a suggestion :
1/ Adagio - from the concert Laura with love - In English - master class
2/ Caruso - same concert - in Italian - maybe one of the best version of this song
3/ Broken Vow - same concert - in english - very touching
4/ "Je t'aime" in live version as well with superb audience
This is the Yentl cover you are referring to:
ua-cam.com/video/zW8lalHMwxk/v-deo.html
Yes, I recomend this too!
Experts say that Lara eb-5 belts at the end are the most stunning and beautiful belts ever.
• Her ability to emote, to draw you in is second to none
• She is the sweetest soul, and quite humble. She 💖 to meet her fans, which always blows their collective minds.😆
She is Belgian, but also has Italian roots (her mother is from Sicilia).
Many of her songs became classics and were covered by the other singing legends: Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Josh Groban, …
Many other top vocalists of today have covered her songs:

• Gabriel Henrique (Love by Grace)
• Cakra Khan (Broken Vow)
• Katrina Velarde (Broken Vow)
• Giulia Falcone (Adagio, Caruso, Je suis malade)
• ....
Today, she is 52 yo, and quite active! 😊✌
Lara is such an amazing performer: She is one of the few who embodies the song they sing.
You can hear sadness, despair, pain, weakness, rage, madness, exhaustion, self pity, disgust, discomfort, hope, loss, hysteria, and so on.
A huge Lara Fabian fan here, listening to just a short clip, she nailed it - now that's talent, if you close your eyes and listen some parts you would think it is really Lara's voice.........especially the end of the intro.
Lara Fabian, one of the greatest vocalists of all time. Yet, most Americans have never even heard of her. She is a legend.
This American adores her. ❤
Hello. Love how You enjoyed this performance. Lara is the Best of the Best.
Two things... I love Lara and I loved your reaction. You were intensely listening and enjoying this so much that your clamped hands turned your knuckles white towards the end. BRAVO! Try her Italian in Caruso.
Great voice and great performance by Lara. I love your reaction. Tq.
The best reaction you could have given to Lara Fabien.
You missed the whole piano intro that really sets the (downward) tone of the song!
Then again, at the end, watching Lara's facial expression - she was so in-character, it takes several moments after the song ends for her to gather herself.
Amazing reaction! And Lara is the best!
Love Lara Fabian. Such an amazing performance.
She is a Queen. The best of the best!
Lara is just a power house of a vocalist!! I share the same feeling as you in Lara's vocal journey.
Linda reaccion! Obra maestra impresionante y unica de Lara Fabian, la mejor cantante e interprete del mundo entero! gracías!
@@dalebuck7168 Fascinating. Makes a lot of sense. THX!
See many more reactions of this performance, there are many vocal coaches who give good explanations of all the amazing Lara does and how she does it.
"You're not from here" from the same concert would be a good song to react next. :)
Please please listen to "You're Not From Here" which is at the same concert. Also, you must listen to her version of Caruso!
Cheers!
And dont forget Floor Jansen
@@ricardocoesel4706 Yeah - pretty good version! - lol
A beautiful modern creation of a classic style of "la chanson francaise" which is blend of song, story, and talk.
I am so, so, sooo happy that you decided to choose this video. It is one of my favorites.
This song gets me every time! Getting choked up and major goosebumps.
The best of interpretation S2 Lara is the greatest!
Adagio 💖💖💖 to hear lots of her exceptional singing ability.
Actually ma’m, Lara’s Nue 2002 concert is also a great intro for you. Lara’s sensitivity comes through at times her emotions really comes through, because of some sensitive personal issues…
But a joy to watch, her beauty, her remarkable instrument are at full display.
Coach me how not to cry everytime I hear and see how Lara sings this. 😭💞♥️
Lovely reaction. Most VC reactors cry during this song you were so excited and smiling all the way 🤣🤣🤣
Quelle puissance vocal qui laisse passer une formidable émotion , merci Lara sur les paroles Serge Lama . Merci à vous de faire découvrir cette chanteuse
Fantastic reaction! Thank you so much. I love Lara Fabian.❤
@PACS Canada Database Services yes, that’s more correct statement) anyway, for me she is the best female performer ever👍
Nice reaction video, thanks a lot! I appreciate so much as well that you react to it while letting the singer sing, and then afterwards you do your analysis with pausing + explanations. Personally I feel this is much nicer than interrupting the whole time during the reaction. 😅
A master class in the ability to communicate a lyric. Stunning.
You've been hit by, The Queen Of Resonance. 👸
Another brilliant reaction Bethany! Love how you articulate your thoughts with such joy and enthusiasm!
I'm a 1.85 meters high 91kg 36 years old male, surgeon, who cries like my little daughters when hearing Lara singing...
U sound hot
Thank you Bethany another great reaction from my newly adopted voice teacher and reactor---not flirting I'm just 84 years old and still very much appreciate your genuine and happy personality as well as your total music ability. And, I love Lara Fabian so what a great combination.
Awesome reaction, thank you Bettany. If you want to realize her singing abilities ---> "Caruso", "Perdere l'amore", 'Adagio'...;)
Adagio is also wonderful
Lara has such a beautiful voice..I hope you can review lara Fabian singing with igor krutoy - les feuilles mortes
Lovely performance between her and Krutoy, but not an example of her vocal skills.
At the end, after you paused, you'd see that she spends quite a few moments still as the person that she'd become in the song.
🇫🇷 ❤
I loved you reaction! so great to listen you speaking so clear and calm. To me, as a english student is very good to learn e pratice my listening. Thank you
She is now 51 and still amazing, she will be in Montreal 15-16 June 2022. I'll fly to go feel her live.
When they see and watch her now (2023) they’ll be amazed at her current voice hasn’t age as much as one would think, noting the years between then, late nineties/2000, and today 2023…☺️😆👏👏👏👏👏👍👌
I’ve truly truly enjoyed your reviews on Adagio’s (my 😮 favorite), and Je Suis Malade.. you made me chuckle a bit as well, when the unexpected in her style had you taken by surprise.
Thank you once again. I truly hope you will review more of Lara’s songs..
🙏 much appreciated ……
Thank you for an excellent analysis!
Awesome reaction..
What’s really impressive about your reaction is your ability to see things most of us ( I assume I am not the only one ) are completely unable to see . Your reaction and comments are wonderful .
merci
Tím, čím Lára je, se člověk musí narodit! Když bude chtít, vždy vás přinutí k slzám...😊❤
You must allow Lara performances to start from the very beginning to the very end. With this song you could see her getting in to "character" at the beginning during the instrumental entrance. Then to watch her disengage from singing this song. She started the performance even before she opened her mouth and ended the song way after the music stopped. INCREDIBLE!
Nice reaction! I subscribed to see and hear you react to more of Lara! You won't regret this rabbit hole
Hi Bethany, greetings from New Zealand. Please do another Lara reaction, It's long overdue. Thanks
(I know she understands a few more languages like Portuguese & Flemish/Dutch but is not fluent.)
Calls herself a "songwriter with a voice."
The amazing thing about Malade is that it's a cover that she tweaked in some pretty substantial & brilliant ways.
There is a chanel called "Macadamia" that has most of the performances from this same concert upscaled & the French/Italian/Spanish songs subtitled.
I'll be back with a couple of links for you.
Sorry I went on so long. Just excited to have discovered you discovering Fabian. 😁
🖖🏽
1of3
You're Not From Here, English, she wrote.
I'm desperate to understand it better. She does INCREDIBLY difficult things, but SOMEHOW keeps it sounding so easy-breezy & gentle. She keeps what she's doing so seemless.
How?!?!

2of3
Pedere L'Amore, cover, Italian with subs.
Everyone will be recommending Caruso (which is amazing, resonance, overtones) but this one has the who dynamic spectrum. It's incredible. ua-cam.com/video/mcmhCfH9OfQ/v-deo.html
3of3
Yentl Medley: Papa, Can You Hear Me + Piece of Sky. Upscaled.
Amazing non-stop performance of two notoriously difficult songs. ua-cam.com/video/zW8lalHMwxk/v-deo.html
Okay, okay. One last one. English. Bubblegum pop som with AMAZING runs. Lots of fun.

Thanks, and your other recommendations are great too. I have plans to resume my work on all Lara footage that deserves it !
I enjoyed so much your reaction.
I really like the editing of your video, without background music or video effects. It's super quiet, and I loved it.
P.S. you have won a subscriber
Lara Fabian is Fabulous ❤
