You can mix it with your moisturizer. However, if you prefer to layer them, follow this sequence: first, use the cleanser and then pat your skin dry. Next, apply the SA serum and wait a couple of minutes. After that, apply niacinamide and wait another minute. Finally, use the hyaluronic acid moisturizer.

Yes, you can mix Lactic Acid with your body moisturiser. However, I would always mix it fresh (in the palm of your hand) and then apply it to the different body parts. How much Lactic Acid you are going to use depends on how much moisturiser you use. Try with 5 drops every time you mix it and see how it goes, if you want to use more, try with more. I use a sunscreen but it causes pills when rubbed in too much. I started mixing the sunscreen with only one drop of the ordinary niacinamide serum, and the sunscreen doesn’t create pills anymore. Is this okay to do? Or will it affect the work of the sunscreen?
Theoretically, it can dilute the sunscreen, and the full protection may not be given anymore. The pilling happens because formulations do not go well together or because of other products you have used before sitting on top of the skin. For example, if you would apply 4-5drops of Niacinamide to your face, it can sit on top and cause pilling. But sometimes it's just oils + silicon and water formulations. But I do not recommend mixing it, and I would instead change the sunscreen or Niacinamide serum.

Hey :) Yes, you can. How often you use your BHA depends on what your skin can tolerate. This can be every other day or daily, except when using the Peeling Solution :)
Hi Melissa I have a different question. I read in the ordinary's website that it's discuraged to use the product Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% along with water based products in the same routine because vitamin c tends to loose efficacy when in contact with water. I don't understand if I can use my moisturiser because, of course, it contains water. Maybe it's a dumb question but I'm really confused 😂
I think that this means that you should not mix it with such formulations, or probably the formulation itself. However, based on my experience using a water-based serum before or a moisturizer after will not lead to any conflict. But this product is a real troublemaker, and it can stay on the skin for a more extended period. So it may be best to use it on it's own. I'm not particularly eager to use it in combination with a moisturizer. But it would be best if you do not combine it with products containing Niacinamide, Peptides, Direct Acids, Retinoids, or EUK 134 0.1%.
Hey :) I have a video about this. Generally, I recommend Vitamin C and Retinol. The Ordinary Skincare Routines For Dark Spots (After Pimples) - With Examples: ua-cam.com/video/7ah36-2iwj0/v-deo.html
This depends on how dark and stubborn your spots are. Fading pigmented areas can take a long time to fade. Therefore you have to be patient and being consistent with your routine. You can use Niacinamide in the AM and Vitamin C in the PM or the other way around so that you get the benefits of both ingredients :)

Hi Melissa! I got one question, about the ordinary euk134. I really like it, it’s irritation free for me. Can I layer my moisturizer right on top euk...? (When still wet) Or can i also mix the euk into my moisturizer. I have the feeling that euk134 needs to be sunk in to do its job.. but if I do that my moisturizer is way more gloopy/greasy to apply since it needs an hydrant. (Plus I use much more then) I hope that I’m clear. Thank you in advance! Your videos and advices are great! ♥️💖
Hello Julia, Once EUK feels dry on the skin, you can use your moisturizer right after. It usually takes about 30seconds to 1minute. If it takes longer, you have probably used too much serum. You can also mix EUK with your moisturizer. For that, you need to find the right amount suitable for your skin needs. I would say about 1 pea-sized amount of moisturizer, and 2-3 drops should be enough for your whole face and neck :) You can't really do anything wrong when only using these 2 products since they do not conflict. So test it to see what works best for you 😃
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Allright, thanks a lot! I feel more comfortable now mixing it/ trying some stuff out ☺️ I think I meant that when using moisturiser on dry skin, it takes a lot more moisturiser to cover my face, and it gets kinda gloopy. I'll see what I can do

Hello! Can you please make a skincare steps? Like what should i do first? thank you! Im only new doing ones😁
I use these: face mask, cleanser, toner, the ordinary alpha arbutin, moisturizer, sunscreen.
Hello, 🙂 I have many videos on my channel where I explain the steps. But maybe I should do one for random products 🤔 That's not a bad idea 🙂
Steps are:
Cleanser
Toner
Exfoliant
Serums
Moisturizer
Sunscreen

Hey dear melissa
Can i mix my ordinary 10 percent niacinamide with my moisturizer that contains spf 20 plus in order to use at the night time
But not for the daytime
Kindly guide me❤
No, I do not recommend using a moisturizer that contains SPF in the evening. Just use sunscreen or a moisturizer with SPF if you are exposed to the sun.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet
Sorry melissa
But plzz answer me
I just want to say that I've ordinary 10 percent niacinamide and also I've a moisturizer that also has spf 20 mentioned on it
So can i mix them both to use at night
as we usually don't need sun protection at night and if serum alters sun protection we shouldn't be bothered it as we don't need protection at night
I'm saying that particularly to use this combo at night not daytime
Yes, but why don't you just use a moisturizer without SPF?
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet that moisturizer suits me
So helpful for me❤
Which product do you recommend for acne scarring? I’m having trouble finding a good product.
Same here Vitamin C and/or Retinol.

I have found that lactic have been stinging my face. 💕
This can sometimes happen...do you still have it? Try mixing it with a moisturiser :)

Can I use the PanOxl, then the ordinary serum and then the cerave moisturizing lotion (spf)? Plz respond I wanna know. I’m so confused is it okay I’m doing this as my skincare routine !!
Yes you can!
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thank you so much
can i use 3% of vitamin c moistriser after 10% of niacinamide serum
yes
Can u just mix it in the bottle ? And use for latter?
Which one are you looking to mix? However, it's generally not a good idea, as you might alter the pH. This could make it less effective.
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial mixing moisturiser and serum in advance, is that ok? So in general mixing products in advance alters the ph and effectiveness is it? Oh i got to stop doing that. Appreciate yr video and response x
@@facobasten1984 what do you want to do/mix? 🤔
So I just bought a niacinamide 5 percent serum. I have a really sensitive and acne prone skin so can I mix 1 to 2 drops in my hyaluronic moisturizer because I don't want to apply it directly on my skin for atleast 2 weeks.
yes, you can :)
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet I am still kind of scared to use niacinamide. I haven't use it yet. What if it cause severe purging 😭i brought it because my skin barrier got damaged but it also causes purging 😭😭😭 help
@@Brahmin947 well it can happen with every new ingredient you introduce to the skin, so it may need some time to adjust. But it will get better after a few days of usage!

Can you recommend anything for white patches on the face? I have brown skin but these white patches are making my skin look uneven, would love some advice thank you.
hm, what kind of white patches do you have? Because I think that it may be best to visit a dermatologist at first so that you know what's causing it 🙂
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet I'm pretty sure it's pityriasis alba I've heard that putting lotion on daily will eventually make it go away but yeah not sure if it will. I've heard that it's due to dry skin but idk.
I'm not sure about this skin problem...so I recommend seeing a doctor :)
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Yeah more than likely I'll have to go see a dermatologist.
Hey Melissa,
I have a question. I ordered 30aha 2bha peeling solution from the Ordinary and i did the mask this evening and i use it twice a week. Can i use the paula’s choice 2BHA exfoliant on the days i don’t use the peeling or will it damage my skin? Thank youu😊
Hey :) Yes, you can.
How often you use your BHA depends on what your skin can tolerate. This can be every other day or daily, except when using the Peeling Solution :)
Hy Mellisa !M new here can we store the mixture of niacinamide and moisturizer
Hello Vicky, not sure about that. But it does not oxidize, so it should work.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thank you sis🙂
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thank you so much! 💕
Can you talk about the dark spots and how can work on them to see less thanks
Hey :) I have a video about this. Generally, I recommend Vitamin C and Retinol.
The Ordinary Skincare Routines For Dark Spots (After Pimples) - With Examples:
ua-cam.com/video/7ah36-2iwj0/v-deo.html
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet so both of these are better for dark spots than niacinamide?
This depends on how dark and stubborn your spots are. Fading pigmented areas can take a long time to fade. Therefore you have to be patient and being consistent with your routine. You can use Niacinamide in the AM and Vitamin C in the PM or the other way around so that you get the benefits of both ingredients :)
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet oh ok thanks 😘
can i mix retinol serum and moisturizer?i
If you want to dilute it yes you can.
Hello...i was looking for this video bcoz whenever i applied niacinamide serum and vit c it break me out even i used them separately..now ill try to mixing it in a moisturiser then apply on my skin..I have Nivea natural fairness cream..Can i mix niacinamide in it ?? Pls reply
Yes, that's fine! :)
Ok..Thanx 🥰
Can u pls tell me about Ordinary's caffeine serum also..After applying it 3 days, i got wrinkles on my eyes..i felt so much itching and also got lines under my eyes..
@@lifewidnidz Have you tried mixing it with your moisturiser and then use it under the eyes? It may be a bit too strong for your eye area to handle and therefore you need to dilute it with a moisturiser. Also, the Caffeine Solution can be drying on the skin and therefore you see wrinkles around the eyes.
Yes its very strong 4 my eyes...May I dilute it or shouldnt use again on my eyes ?
Can I mix my serum with medicated night cream?
what serum do you have? 🤔

Hi Melissa!
I got one question, about the ordinary euk134. I really like it, it’s irritation free for me.
Can I layer my moisturizer right on top euk...? (When still wet)
Or can i also mix the euk into my moisturizer.
I have the feeling that euk134 needs to be sunk in to do its job..
but if I do that my moisturizer is way more gloopy/greasy to apply since it needs an hydrant. (Plus I use much more then)
I hope that I’m clear. Thank you in advance! Your videos and advices are great! ♥️💖
Hello Julia,
Once EUK feels dry on the skin, you can use your moisturizer right after. It usually takes about 30seconds to 1minute. If it takes longer, you have probably used too much serum.
You can also mix EUK with your moisturizer. For that, you need to find the right amount suitable for your skin needs. I would say about 1 pea-sized amount of moisturizer, and 2-3 drops should be enough for your whole face and neck :)
You can't really do anything wrong when only using these 2 products since they do not conflict. So test it to see what works best for you 😃
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Allright, thanks a lot!
I feel more comfortable now mixing it/ trying some stuff out
☺️
I think I meant that when using moisturiser on dry skin, it takes a lot more moisturiser to cover my face, and it gets kinda gloopy. I'll see what I can do
Ah yes, so just use it on damp skin :) That may help. But yes, just try it. That's really the key. As long as they do not conflict, it does not really matter. 😉
