Noob here. thought I was doing wrong by watching tv while picking. I have to use a vice though due to my one hand. great tips!

I give you mad respect for being able to pick locks with one-handed! You rock!
With regards to picking in front of the TV, that's what I'm doing now! It's great practice and a way to develop touch and motor memory.
Using a vise is absolutely legit. There are two handed pickers that throw every lock in a vise regardless of type.
      Keep picking!

An excellent point-and something I need to be more deliberate on. Probably why I can't make progress with my SFIC...
And great shout out. I really miss his podcast-he hasn't even responded when I've tried emailing him to check in on him. 😥

Being able to visualize what's happening inside the lock helps me a lot with troublesome locks.
And I do hope that the locksportscast is alright. And I totally get needing a break if life happens. I needed to take a year off, so I get it...

Another great episode! Thats something i need to work on myself. Talking and or listening ot others while picking is also difficult for me 😅.

Thanks Adam! Being able to pick absentmindedly comes as you develop the motor-memory and the ability to feel your way through the lock. Fidget picking is a great way to develop your skills to that point.

@@pugspickslocksSomething I am currently working on. I still kinda need it quiet when i'm picking because i'm using my hearing as well. I have nerve problems and it sometimes makes it hard to get the feel correct. but with time and practice I can hone my feeling a bit better. I think the fidget picking will help with that!

The auditory feedback def' helps. I can imagine that having reduced feeling from nerve damage would make you rely on your ears more.

New Sub keep up the great content, I saw a comment on FB and decided to check you out, I've been picking since 96' and I'm still learning everyday

Hey, thank you! Thanks for the sub and the comment!
I hear you. I've been picking for a long time, too, and I'm definitely still learning!

My first (and only so far) giveaway was to pick a lock blindfolded! 😀

LOL! I've never tried an actual blindfold, but I regularly close my eyes, or stare at the TV or wall. Being able to see the inside of the lock in your head is a great skill to develop!

I also pick locks in a vice 90 degrees to me see so I can't even see down the keyway.

That's a good practice! Probably easier on your wrists, as well!
