Beautifully explained and so very true! I have already developed habits and have to remind myself sometimes to change it up or try something new! It's very important to recognize this as a new, or experienced picker! And WOW! Thank you for that wonderful shout-out!! I don't know what to say!!
@@pugspickslocksI can understand that! Even when I know I shouldn't, I still find myself doing it! That's part of the learning! Practice makes perfect though! Again, that shoutout was amazing, I can't tell you how much I appreciate it! Thank you very much!!
Noob here. As for having eenough5 tools, you're right. I have about 7 different sets. Am currently working on a master 570. When I quit, I go to a brinks 640 to calm my nerves. my problem with the 570 is keeping the tok tension bar in the keyway as I can only use 1 finger.
The 570 is fun pick! I find easing up on the tension helps with feeling the feedback and keeping the TOK tensioners in place. It's a balance and I still pop the tensioner out on a regular basis...
I feel like habits really need some solid analysis-am I doing the same thing because it always works, or just because I'm stuck in a rut? Something that definitely needs to be considered on a regular basis!
Agreed! My habits became habits because they worked for me. Unfortunately you hit a point where they no longer work... A new type of locking mechanism, a new type of pin, an old worn lock. Whatever it is, you're right, the reevaluation needs to be teed up!
I agree with what's already been said, a good lesson for anyone starting out.
Adam Harris is a great guy, great to see him as shout out of the week! 👍
Oh, he's def' a good one, and def' deserving of a shout out!
Thank you Pik_lok!!!
@@pugspickslocks Thanks again!!

I trip myself up by getting stuck in habits all the time!
You're very welcome for the shoutout. I love helping new folks get off to a great start!
