The downtown is growing. The road frame episode is alway underrated, because it might not be very exciting but it determines so much and creates the base fore everything. Also: two stadiums already and a lot of transport hubs! This is much more than a preparation. Great episode again!
Imperatur has a vanilla trick that allows you to put a pedestrian path 'under' a road so cims can cross roads without a crossing. You basically higher the terrain at each side of the road, stretch the pedestrian path across, and the path sits 'under' the road allowing cims to cross but without needing an actual crossing. I just thought that could be useful for you in relation to your stadium access / tram line.
"So you will come... Oh you WILL come down this way, I will make sure you do!" Egg low key throwing threats at the misbehaving roads 😄 just love your one sided conversations with various in game stuff ❤ Awesome ep, it's so nice to see the thought process and the prep in action, it already looks amazing, excited for the skyline 😊

Loved the episode. I wish it had been available before I laid out my downtown last week. So many great ideas. One point, your elevated highway seems to have limited access in one of the directions (complicated due its closeness to the elevated rail); a couple slip roads on that side of the road would likely enhance its functionality. Can’t wait to see how you “fill” the downtown! Always a pleasure!
Orchid Bay City Airport (A bit like London City Airport because they're both smaller regional airports in cities that will end up having another bigger airport)
What an enjoyable hour of content. Amazing planning and vision as always. Just looking at the orientation of airport island, it looks like the plane path will be straight through your skyscraper area so you'll nned to be careful placing the tall boys as we don't want any accidents!
Who knew downtown network layouts could be so thrilling?! Well, Egg and his fans know. That was a proper mind-shagging. If nothing else, this is the most complex downtown transportation network you've done and I have no doubt it will be the best looking skyline.... when we get it! I'm ok with being teased for a while. It will be well worth the wait. Oh yeah, the view of the bay from the baseball stadium is awesome. Love it!
Dude I could watch you build downtown road networks for even longer than this treat of a video. Really dug the way you've incorporated all the transit lines, keen to see how the skyline takes shape, if and when you get to it!

Considering traffic is the bane of my existence during my “downtown-high density” areas, I love this video because it gives a lot of perspective on how important different types of traffic can help ease the 67% traffic flow of my city
Thank you for another fantastic episode Egg! I think the internal train line might be slightly messed up at the Corner of Korea transport hub (I’m not sure it stops in both directions?). Also, would you consider adding in an intermediate metro stop along the elevated parallel network section? I know there is an additional monorail stop but I think another metro stop might be really handy, otherwise the train and metro basically just duplicate each other for that stretch. It could even be another transfer between monorail and elevated metro (if there is still space!)
Looks like some serious rioting after those losses. They even set fire to the stadium. I recommend a big main fire station downtown, but also a police station to deal with those soccer hooligans! In happier news, I love the use of that insane transit hub. I never have enough convergence in one place to justify a beast like that, but you’ve got all the modes going into the same area, in about the right direction! Also, a harbor-hub-airport line seems like the perfect use for a monorail, serving a limited number of destinations in a line. Too bad about that harbor station not working though.
Jolly old job! I love how you took the time to adjust rail, metro and motor road to properly align! A wonderful day to you and citizens of Orchard Bay! 😺
I noticed that you still have a couple of neighborhoods with the old pseudo baseball parks and soccer fields. Should probably upgrade those to the actual park assets so that they look nicer!
❤❤❤❤ this episode! Inspired me to totally level my “downtown” and start over again with this kind of thoughtful planning. BTW, my dog Dee passed away last year, so how about naming the baseball team “Orchid Bay Beagles” in his honor? 🐶

Awesome love the use of public transport. There is an opportunity to add in a underground metro from the super hub you just added to the shopping plaza from a few episodes ago. Notices on your elevated road travelling into the city centre there are no off ramps they all flow the opposite way possibly why you don’t have much traffic on it
@@coldbloodau they are one-way ramps, but each pair in the area shown in this video (by the baseball stadium, by the transport hub, in the Heart of Korea) is a pair - one off, one on - and therefore creates a full-access junction.
The red color of that one stadium kinda invokes the same vibe as a Fire-Star orchid. They are really quite beautiful! Also, that is a sweet name for a sports team. The Fire-Stars
Hmmm, my, another beautiful build! I can't think of a name suggestion for the airport, unfortunately. Regarding the oceanfront park, maybe you could try to give part of it some actual beach vibes? I know vanilla doesn't really let you make functional beaches (and even the beach volley building is horrendously surrounded by concrete), but I think you can make it kinda work

55:47 - With the downtown island, which I'm going to call prematurely name "Lavender Key" - as there's industrial wasteland there already. It would be cool to see that as a converted park, there was once an airport there, but outgrew the island (or was deemed unsafe to use because of the high rises and mountains entranceways - like Hong Kong's Kai Tak Airport) and had to be relocated south west (or north) onto a larger coastal plot of land connected by a 2 stop high speed rail. Lavender Key (like: Tempelhof airport / Kai Tak Airport) is now converted it into a park using a mix of park/airport assets - perhaps the entrance can be flanked by the airport museum, art gallery, opera house and some other cultural elements? Just a thought!
Love it egg, looks amazing! Hey one thought: probably a good opportunity for a monorail and underground stop up by the baseball stadium, just for multiple means of transit access. Looks like a lot of folks are coming in from the cruise terminal for games, could be good to have direct access without having to switch over Loving the series!
Little fun fact, The baseball stadium would not fit MLB's (Major League Baseball) Regulations since it doesn't have a designated Batter's Eye in center field, which is a solid colored flat wall in the middle of the outfield to help the batter see the ball coming from the pitcher. Notice in the Stadium you referenced in San Francisco, the view of the ocean is off to the right instead of down the middle, since it needs to make room for the batters eye down in centerfield. Makes the cities skyline asset quite strange if you're used to normal baseball stadiums.
Very nice. I think the above-ground metro is a bit much but I guess you might as well use it if it comes with that transit hub. It just takes up a lot of space imo.
If I can manage even a fraction of this organization in my own city I’ll consider it a massive win. Love the build as always, road networks are a favorite of mine. Love to see the thought process that goes into such a wonderfully flowing road network. Makes me think of a million ways my rl city is doing it wrong 😂

For stadium, I would put the price to max and maybe a policy or two to increase the local win ratio. Will also need the extra income when you start dropping those uniques in for the downtown. Can't wait for more and hope they fix their hub asap. The cruise terminal was one of my favorites from the last update and i'm sad to see part of it isn't working

The baseball team should be a play off the Dodgers (who got the name from pedestrians dodging street cars), or something rail based. The OB Locos sounds good; I'm envisioning the logo being a crazed conductor, with "Loco" being short for Locomotive.
Great episode. I'm glad to see you use the big transit hub without it looking like you forced it in place. I did have a question, I see your income fluctuation and I have the same problem. Up 50K, down 18K, up 5K, down 30k. Is that anything to worry about when you have 40k+ population? I can't seem to get past the idea of the red numbers being a bad omen that my city is about to collapse. :{)

reminds me a little of the iconic Tokyo Expressway but with Cycling included, since there is also a part, where it runs parallel to the trains, Ginza i think.
Also, I also see everyone who does the main road do it over the round about. I say tunnel the darn thing😅. That round about would be a good place for something related to the airport or just more green space.

Very cool setup of all the transport hubs! Anxious to see the new skyline now. Driven thru a few cities with raised transport like that in my life. 🙃
This my favourite part watching how you set up roads and public transport,it helps me a lot thank you egg 👏👏👏👏
that moment when you placed the baseball park with the music gave me the chills
Considerably "mind shagged" after this and thouroughly enjoyed Egg. As always. Carina made me comment
Do I hear an Orchid Bay Shags 😂
@Kitch3nW3nch sounds like a great name for a Baseball team lol
I loved this episode as always !
It would be a nice addition to add landmarks in the city, especially in the downtown with modern landmarks
I think the other metro should head off to the airport.
Absoulutly beautiful sight lines.
Amazing work as always
Slightly unsure about all the parallel networks but will make my mind up wjen the down town is built up.
❤❤❤❤❤
I enjoy these kinds of episodes. It's really interesting to see what you come up with. I'm very excited for the next episode. I can't wait to see what you do or don't do, lol 😂❤
There is no such thing as a boring road network build!! CS Blasphemy! There is so much to love and fawn over! The stadiums look amazing!
Can we call the baseball stadium "Orchid BAYseball Stadium" > I can't deny a good pun suggestion haha
Ahh yes, the convergence of all of those big roads and rails is SO satisfying. Also, Orchid Baysballers ;)
The sports arenas and car parks are such an important addition that really helped ice the cake for me.
⚾️🏟️ - Orchid Bay Sliders (my first thought was Siders, given the location but Sliders had a more of a baseball theme to it)
🛫🛄 - Louis Liger Intl. (author of Le Jardinier Fleuriste et Historiographe in 1704, wrote about Orchis who is punished and killed and transformed into a flower)
This was great as always! I wish I could build cities like you, Egg! Can’t wait to see the skyline! Don’t make us wait any longer!
Building these networks is the most fun for me, thank you for great episode
The Orchid Bay ultras should be called The Vanillains.
Thanks for giving me a great video to end my day. Hope you enjoy the rest of your day and as always another amazing video Egg. Thank you so much for sharing you massive talent for creating!
What a amazing level of planning. How would you think about this ??. Just amazing.😮
These are one of my favorite type of videos to watch. Really enjoy watching these network videos!
Naughty hubs, indeed. Always fun to watch a downtown planning episode, Egg! That is a chunky group of transit coming through...have you ever done that before? Very interested to see that get busy! Lovely as always, well done! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Watching these road network episodes gives me ideas for my cities.
Wow....I can just imagine how the skyline is going to look. Can't wait until your next video!
Cant beleive ive cought up on this serise already! I feel like I jusy found your channel. been addicted to the Orcid Bay build. keep up the great work.
The baseball team should be a play off the Dodgers (who got the name from pedestrians dodging street cars), or something rail based. The OB Locos sounds good; I'm envisioning the logo being a crazed conductor, with "Loco" being short for Locomotive.
43:19 "I love it when a tram comes together!" - O. 'Hannibal' Egg
Can't wait to see the skyline come to life! Greetings from Brasil!
Me either! Greetings from England my friend
I love the road net work ones. This was awesome!!!
City have proper training facilities, while Utd are a club burning down? Sounds about right. 😂
continuing to enjoy your builds. keep up the great work, love all the transportation methods used. Future proof as much as you can.
Baseball team: Bay-city or Bayside Peanuts
The Stadium: Sky Harbour-view Stadium (wink wink) cause you have the harbour view and it’ll be right next to the future Orchid Bay Airport.
Awesome video as always Egg! Love seeing how your mind works when it comes to planning your networks, especially with this behemoth of an interconnected city.
Not surprising to see ManU, I mean Orchid United burn down 😂 (kidding).
As much as I can’t wait to see the downtown, I think you’re about due for another beautiful themed residential to help build up some cims, ready for all those city office daily grinds 😉😂. Much love my dude ❤
Awesome road Layout - cant wait to see the skyline. But some more farms for the next episode would be great :D
Lol sounds good too me!
Amazing episode! Maybe save that last metro line on the hub for an Airport Express line?
reminds me a little of the iconic Tokyo Expressway but with Cycling included, since there is also a part, where it runs parallel to the trains, Ginza i think.
Hey just wondering im new to city skylines on PC and my bottom hub looks nothing like yours
Do u have a mod I'm not aware off? Or some type of serting
Also, I also see everyone who does the main road do it over the round about. I say tunnel the darn thing😅. That round about would be a good place for something related to the airport or just more green space.
I have question how is that you have less traffic always? No matter how many pathways I give and encourage biking my avg traffic flow is 60%. Anything can help?
