I was NOT expecting the Observation Tower! What a wonderful surprise and it sits really well above the beautifully designed park!
In light of the feedback from the previous episode, I feel like a Sunlight Regulation Police HQ is now required somewhere in the downtown...
The observation tower! Wow! Did NOT expect that. But boy did you make it work. Excellent placement with the tall buildings behind it. That way it doesn't stick out like a sore, pointy thumb. Also the build around it is superb. Great call to bring in those King Leno assets and the elevated plaza. That area now looks very intended and not just some generic stuff thrown about. Everything about this build accentuated, complimented, and really fleshed out the previous downtown builds. Looks amazing. Oh, and the embankment of the transit lines just really hit the spot.
The waterfront looks absolutely beautiful. I love all of the creative detailing and specialized zoning. It all looks so nice and cohesive. The observation tower is a big yes, too. And, I cannot forget about the Chirper Balloon tours. 😂 This is definitely one of my favorite areas in Orchid Bay so far.
The icing on the cake for the build is Chirper Balloon giving some serious stink eye to the Gradient and Fence Orientation Police! 🤣. Who's going to police the Gradient Police? Chirper is! Sign me up for the Chirper Fan Club! I'd be honored to be the founding member and President. Club initiation fee attached.

Regarding the towers being perhaps too close, maybe you could establish the “Tower Proximity Bureau” next to the “Gradient Police”. - Loved seeing the beachfront park come together.
I’ve been binge watching Orchid bay for the past couple of weeks playing catch up and it’s quickly become my favourite city I’m currently watching. Keep up the eggselent work!
IDK man, I think the observation tower is GENIUS. When you pulled that out I was like, "oh, yes please". It came together so nicely and is a perfect accent for that Skyline!
That observation tower is perfect here. Gives a real Toronto vibe to the waterfront. Of course the actual CN tower is just silly tall and dominates the skyline by just towering (heh) over it. Moving the observation tower out away from the rest of the skyline gives a similar effect when viewed from the water, as the tower *looks* taller than the buildings.
I don’t think a library near the airport is that bad, actually. I used to work in an office under the approach paths of an airport. It was loud if I went out for a walk and a plane came in for a landing over my head, but inside it wasn’t loud enough to disturb our work. Though, I am almost wondering if the runways shouldn’t be parallel to the shore instead of perpendicular. It would require a lot of land fill, but it is common to build airports on reclaimed land like that.
I love the circular paths and art installation. It had never occurred to me to make a path into a circle. ❤
Love the inclusion of the Art Museum in the park. Such a difficult build to get right in respecting the open space but putting in the assets. Would love to see some pop up sports props in the open space behind the beach
After starting this series at the first lesson a week ago I finally caught up with your lesson plan a few minutes ago. Posted my last map a year ago and felt the need for a post - graduate course after after not even playing for several months. Not disappointed! Thanks!

Name the observation area 'Five Rings' after the three rings of art next to the observation tower. Great video as always Egg!
The observation tower has very Sydney vibes to anyone hating on the placement ;) I personally love it and the art walking track has a very Melbourne vibe too! We are known for our artsy culture in Melbourne and can see this kind of install very easily along the water fronts :) Amazing episode! The chirper balloon is giving me some good laughs so I think leave it! Don't reposition it! haha
Absolutely lost it laughing at that chirper balloon squashing it's face against the side of the skyscraper windows. If i was like, in the office in that building I would scream. it would be a sight to behold to be sure haha
I think a convention center could be a pretty cool addition, maybe to the end of the island once you pop the tiles. Vanilla fusion using warehouses as convention halls or something could be an interesting way to do it, and then surround with midrise hotels and condo buildings, shopping, etc. If you really wanted to get crazy you could even take inspiration from Long Beach, CA, and design the streets there to work well as a race track for a couple of weeks a year!
The observation tower reminds me of the TV towers you can find in almost every major German city, so it's a natural fit in any skyline, I think! The "Fernsehturm" in Berlin is surrounded by low, open plaza space which really makes it stand out and feel really important.
The observation tower is the unexpected yet perfect addition to the skyline. Love it more than I believed possible, Carina surely will be proud. That whole park area is great. Love Orchid Bay so much. You keep getting better and better. Awesome.
It's all turning into a nice blend of buildings from high to low! Love the whole park area today. I laughed when you named the library tp not a library 😄 It looks a bit like a barge boat so maybe it could be a yacht club or something instead lol. Great job!🤩

The new observation tower with the airport soon to come your downtown is looking a lot like Toronto, good stuff! You should get some inspiration from there especially for the area around the baseball stadium
Lovely build as always. Glad i watched the walkthru at the end, was about to suggest the mall buildings around the base of the needle for the subtle whites and tans to match the modern art building. LoL 🤣👍

The park part is amazing. I would recommend putting some trees and natural assets to improve it.
wow just wow! Such a good vibe on that park, and great assets. The mall and then wall-to-wall res, the madern art museum create a real nice, realistic modern feel.
Smatterings of the older HD cmmercial keep it varied, and make it feel alive.
I think the two green cities towers with thrown angles, the IT cluster, and the unique skyscraper along side the important transport infrastructure, all sandwiched between the Korean turqoise number and the park, is my favourite part of the city.

The Grand Library placement is perfect! It actually looks like a ship next to the water! Maybe it's the Corporate HQ of the Cargo Ship company!

I agree about the towers tbf. Love the series. Also this downtown has me hyped for what Cities 2 will be like with improved graphics and global illumination, gonna be mental.
Like it. Would ad some lonely trees in the grass area and some picnic tables. Might even make them official parks with park life to attract more people and increase the land value.

Amazing as always! I don’t know if possible but it will be cool if there will be lights on the beach for those who want to dip late. Also, I’m all for more museums and theaters in Orchid Bay and that Not Actually a Library is awesome 😂

I am Team Observation Tower! I like it in this skyline. I don't think it belongs in every skyline, but it really works here and gives a nice focal point and pinnacle to an otherwise quite boxy and grey city. The skyline as a whole is loking really nice! Also I love the Chirper Overlord, anythign that makes you laugh that hard can stay, imo. Love it Egg, it's really coming along! 😍😍😍😍😄❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I wish there was a option to make a street racing circuit (like Monaco or Melbourne in F1) - your Ocean front Park would be awesome for that - imagine a couple weeks a year, a race series comes to town and races in the shadow of downtown.
The sound of the engines echo through the skyscrapers and tourists flock about.

The Observation tower looks like the Calgary tower in Calgary or the CN tower in Toronto.

The open green space at the bottom of the skyline, next to the big stadium, looks a bit empty. Kinda seems like land that has not yet been used. Maybe you could decorate it minimalistically with some small props like bushes and rocks. A simple pattern to kinda show that the open area is there for a reason, yaknow?

A Ferris wheel or the London Eye next to the observation tower might look night especially with the pier nearby!

I don’t want to join the Airplane Police. I would like to let you know that aircraft generally can’t over fly a stadium or large event unless 3,000ft above said event.
I think the waterside park deserves a monorail stop before the airport!:)
Pick out colors for the city flag and have the trees at 13:00 match those colors!

There is a fix for the monorail line on the hub…but you would have to use network multitool in a vanilla build 🤷🏻♂️
The tree lined street is blocking the views from wall to wall buildings. I would think the buildings would be overlooking the water.
You can put a bus stop in the harbor, what you cant do is start a line o end it there
I know but that asset is currently bugged and not working as intended
