Everything looks incredible Egg!, I would just be weary of how much density you're packing into the CBD. IRL there would be sunlight regulations, plus giving towers some space sometimes can make them look so much better. I'm not saying this is the case in this build but you can try and spacing some of the towers near the stock exchange and giving them some breathing room and perhaps they will look better. All the best!
Was going to say this, I love the way it looks but it feels very noisy and cluttered with so many towers rubbing shoulders. They are supposed to centerpieces, after all
Definitely feel the same. They are such impressive buildings they need some space to show off. Plus I would not like to be in some of them offices you would loose the views of the city and just see a wall.

I mean, I do enjoy all of your skyline/downtown vids but this was next level, kept me on the edge of my seat all the way until the cinnies. I was literally begging the skyscrapers and the glass roof plazas to please please fit in! 😄 Was cheering when you finally managed to get everything in, even though I had zero doubt that you will bend CS to your vision.😊 Love the girth ❤
Something to consider when placing skyscrapers and creating a skyline, tall buildings sway. Because of this, you should provide more space around the thin part of buildings. Real world concern is that the sway space of skyscrapers don't overlap, resulting in the buildings smacking into each other
It really is an absolute shame that none of those skycrapers actually function as revenue generating RCI zones. I'd love for them to actually function in-game beyond being glorified, overpriced parks. That aside, absolutely loving the build mate. Getting into yours and CPP's content the past few months has gotten me back into reinstalling Skylines after years and getting all those DLCs to catch up. It's an entirely different game now.
Hey OE, you are churning these out so rapidly I can hardly keep up! I'm loving Orchid Bay, so enjoyable to see all citizens biking/walking everywhere. Had a chuckle about the financial advice in the beginning when you told us not to take your advice after first starting out so confidently and all. Thanks for making all your vids so enjoyable.
The big blue hotel is going in that park, the one that really doesn’t fit well in the actual meat of the skyline, but looks nice on its own by an airport build, or for your case, the waterfront park, that is essentially next to what will be your international airport. It’s prefect honestly.
This is exactly what I needed. An hour before I started watching this I got 2nd degree burns at work. So this turned my bad end of day to a good end of my day.
I love your style of building egg! Never disappointing mate. Another Aussie here, I've been watching your videos since Palaven and really appreciate you teching me to slow down and take time to deatail, building modularly and with purpose instead of just ploping something on the side of the road. I never comment on videos and you are one of only 3 people I have subscribed to, but I really want to show my appreciation. Hands down best CS builder on UA-cam! I am stuck on console and your vanilla builds shiw me that its still possible to make realistic beautiful cities without mods. I would love to show you some of my work sometime.
Imagine what type of person it takes to dislike a video like this. Do not be that person. How can you dislike the way someone plays a game the way "they" play the game. Thank you for all the great content. You are Truly a beautiful human being with great character ❤️❤️❤️
Yes, the skyscrapers are coming, downtown is going big! :) Loved the glass-roofed plaza introductions and you just had to make them part of downtown, and rightfully so, I have to say. :) It is ridiculously wonderful what you achieve again!
Well. My my my. Huh. I......was......properly surprised at how AMAZING this came together. I thougth that the downtown area was going to be quite narrrow for a downtown, and was wondering how it was all going to come together. I'm absolutely LOVING how it is coming together. I think my favorite thing about it is how much you changed it as you built it. It made it so much more organic to watch, seeing your thought process is always invaluable to me, and I like that you weren't afraid to try it, move it, look at it, move it, etc. Those fountains with the parks and plazas asset was chef's kiss! Perfection! Really enjoying everything, excited to see how you give the buildings a bit more breathing room (as I suspect you will do). I think the name you need should be Alrightsand {Al-right-sund} for your concern over that sand patch in the plaza area. Love love love Egg!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
love the pathways work around the stadium, love the little zoned shops around corners, love the road detailing work, the two plazas were worth it, very enjoyable episode as always, thank you and have a great day
This skyline might be better, than Palaven's, which is by far my favourite city you've built so far. Its looking perfect, and so realistic as well! I can literally imagine it!
It is very nice, just for my taste I feel you like to pack the tall skyscrapers too tightly together, my own preference is to spread the taller ones out a bit and fill them in with smaller ones, so the tall ones stand out on their own, I don’t believe the idea of a climb in height needs to be taken that literally within the downtown itself, but that’s just me. Of course this is one of your smaller downtown areas so you don’t have a lot of room here. At least you can create a downtown at all, I suffer from serious mental block and have yet been able to make one myself though I keep watching videos for inspiration.🙂
Love the view of the exchange from the train station! One thing that I enjoy in Berlin where I live is riding on a train and getting glimpses between the towers to see plazas and long stretches of road framed by towers and trees and this gives me that same feeling!
This has got to be one of the best-looking cities I've ever seen made in Cities: Skylines. I think I'd really like to see some first-person transportation videos soon, with how amazing this city is looking. Great job!
@OVERCHARGED EGG of course! I've been playing Cities for a while (still kind of a noob tbh lol) and it's just amazing to watch you work knowing how much effort building such a good looking city takes. Super excited to see whatever comes next!
Love this. My downtown always goes so badly. Learning so much from this. I also find myself building massive pedestrianised areas, whereas I notice yours are much more subtle, which I think makes more sense
Egg you have such amazing taste in music ❤ thank you for introducing me to ooyy Your builds are always so chill and wonderful I love watching them! Thank you for uploading!
Perhaps later on add a highway tunnel coming out of the mountains for a cool sight line of downtown as well as the coastline? I think the west coast, USA does this a bit…Fort pitt tunnel in Pittsburgh could also be a good example of this!
Just discovered this on your play list and loving the Orchid Bay build. So inspiring! This downtown is brilliant. Gives me so many ideas. You're right, if you just take the time to detail you can build a beautiful city in vanilla Cities Skylines 1.
I'm many months behind and playing catch up watching your videos. I started watching this series in February whilst I was in hospital waiting to be induced (thank you for saving my boredom) Now, me and my 7 month old watch your series (she doesn't turn her head away during the detailing speed-up). 😊
Hello there! At 58:00 there is a moment when you can see a mountain from the financil plaza. Think Ferris wheel will sit perfectly on that mountain. And ofc - great job man !
Just finished up. Absolutely loved it. The amount of details. Yet another great addition to this Great city. Loved the view from the mountain. It's turning out to be exactly as I hoped it would. Seeing the whole city just growing. I wish this city existed in real life. I would love there in a heart beat. The plaza. Before the detail time lapse and after. Was just night and day. I really enjoy how you demonstrate the concepts of what things can become in a simplistic manor, and then elevate it with your touches and vision. You see the trials and error in there. That's what I like about these videos. Calm voice, talking to the audience. All while guiding us through the growth you thought of. I'm sorry for the long comment, but this video has met the build up to me. Watching this city grow slowly has been a pleasure, and I hope you continue to stay inspired, and.taking your time with the details. I'll definitely be keeping my eye out for Thessia, and more of this beautiful city. P.s. the burning pain has gone down to a tolerable level. Cheers!!
Egg did it again! He has created an absolutely awesome skyline. The huge towers, large plazas, and meandering transit lines make for a really impressive city center. A fantastic installment to Orchid Bay.
Wow, this was incredible!! You really are the master of these downtowns, and well worth the effort getting those plazas to fit where you wanted them as well. Can't wait to see the city develop further. Looks so alive!
I got an idea! Why don't you add an intercity bus terminal on the west of the skyline, that way, when the airport be built on the island, the buses can just go right between the downtown and the airport in one minute! Edit: I love how the skyline looks. Can't wait to see part 3! Lovely work!!
Orientation king at it again!! Im glad you didn't block the stock exchange, despite it being a bit bulky. I think it looks better on its own/not blocked :) I looove the super wide skyline! Nighttime cinematic are to die for! Can't wait for part 3!
Awesome episode bro. And I agree with the one comment you made in the detailing review about the traffic. Obviously we strive for walkability and busy transit hubs and seeing the cims utilize those to the full, but I also greatly enjoy seeing the car traffic downtown as well! It’s not backed up but you can tell it’s busy and it’s nice to see all forms of transportation well represented in a busy bustling and alive downtown. Well done, the way you detail around the towers is fantastic and gave me some good ideas.
Egg, I noticed in my games that ferries are better used to cross the river and not to sail along. Many cities have a ferry system, and very few of them use one ferry to connect multiple destinations. Rethinking the ferry routes may increase the number of passengers and your stocks. Another suggestion: I miss a government district. There are some "governmental" buildings with lovely architecture in the game that you can merge with other assets, like the royal library, the old building university, the botanical garden, etc... Final thing. Beautiful work with the tall assets. Truly amazing. I enjoy your patience.
Enjoyed this one! Loved how excited you got for those water fountain glass plazas. Also really like how you get down to street level to show what it looks like for the citizens living there.
Love seeing the skyline take shape! Looks amazing from some angles, like at 31:48. Almost City of London-esque with the density! I will echo the thoughts of some others on here in that I think some of the towers are slightly too close together. For example, the new addition at 30:52, next to the Large Bank Building, and Tour Bellini (or however you spell it) at 40:18, which I think interferes with the soar and dominance of Six Rivers Centre, which should be given space to properly show off as the centrepiece. Even in dense cities, you'll have smaller buildings sitting in amongst the towers to give the big boys some breathing room and let them stand out more (and in reality, giving them room to sway, as tall buildings naturally do), while still creating a wonderful mountainous skyline! I do love the density here in Orchid Bay - just be careful not to OVER-densify it. ;) But you know I love your cities and how you build them, so it's still an overall solid rating from me! The financial plaza in the middle is superb. Good job! :D For the beachfront park tower - I'm going to guess (purely because of its name) the Sea and Sky-scraper? It's quite a small one but would be a nice landmark sitting over the park. Curious to see whether I'm right or not!
Finally the downtown! Super cool build as always OE. I love the views from the stadiums looking over the towers and metro. The soccer stadium views remind me of the University of Iowas football stadium which has a children's hospital looking right over the field. Really cool tradition they do if you don't know about it, might be worth taking a look. I also really love the look of that new baseball stadium, such a great asset. Well done as always bro 🤙
Hello Egg! We loved watching Orchid Bay grow from the beginning :) it would be really nice to see a sky tram from the mountain with the observation terraces to the down. Can’t wait for the next videos!
Another fun fact....at exactly 45:00 a bird flies through the middle of the camera....and dropped a poop lolol. Seriously....I couldn't help but get side tracked by that :D Sorry, not sorry lol. Anyways, happy to see you finally get to the downtown, skyscraper build!
Agreed. In addition to being functional and necessary for traffic success, the networks and stations combined with the buildings can add such a distinct vibe. I think it's that combination that adds the personality.
Love it so much! Actually, I really enjoy watching you change your mind and fennagle the netowrks to make a vision come to fruition. Helps us see thought process, and its a natural way to play! Genuinly love the skyline. I love that it's narrow as it sits between the river and beach, but wide _along_ the coast. Very cool 😎🌆🏦
So basically you are building (if the airport is there) a HK Kai Tak Airport (2023 version). Planes flying over/near skyscrapers/high buildings. I am enjoying the series. Keep up the good work
@@OVERCHARGEDEGG search on UA-cam. As a plane/aviation geek, there isn’t a airport that is more documented in the past than that airport. Especially the checkerboard arrival
@@OVERCHARGEDEGG Kai Tak closed to make way for the new HK airport in the late 90s. Among aviation enthusiasts, it was legendary for how dangerous and difficult the approach was. Basically pilots had to execute a 90 degree turn on short finals, whilst flying close what seemed inches from the highrises of downtown Hong Kong. Yes - @Fennec_NL is spot on with his observation. Definitely check it out... !!!
Since my office is right next to Cardiff Central station and it's next to the river as well I get the same view!!! You did it again... Amazing build!!!!
I always thought it would be a good idea to include some sort of market area. They're quite common amongst skyscrapers, pops of height then a sprawling tented market along pedestrian roads. Something like Borough Market in London? With all the networks going over it might make something very cool. Orchid Bay is looking wonderful so far!!
wonderful build Egg! just one thing, at 1:00:22 there is the elevated walkway that seems not to have been reconnected to the ground. For all of the rest, great job as always!
I have set up an RSS feed to get the video notifications and my god did that first title confused me xD Now I see you've changed it, hahaha. I love your humour!
did i hear an eggasm? :D i really like it how happy you are with this downtown build. And to be honest, it is an amazing one. The more Downtowns you build, the better they. It is always nice to see you building downtowns :)
as someone who plays on remastered, I was dreading the skyline episode because I knew I was going to be super jealous of having access to the skyscrapers pack, but the building was so good that I don't mind it too much
Another egg-sellent episode! I'm dying to get a proper transit line overview (maybe even a route map?) It's my favourite part of the game - and with how walkable OB is, it would be really cool to see how the different systems and pathways etc interact
I'm glad you mentioned the dark shade on the buildings, I thought it was just me! UA-cam makes it even darker, so the shaded buildings just look like flat black blobs 😞
It does look nice, but I do feel that this many corporate-type uniques can sometimes make a place feel a bit dead and not lived in, especially without adding lots of smaller shop-type buildings and modern city center stuff in between them. As the lawns that make up these in-between spaces now are enclosed by hedges which effectively signals "keep off", the overall experience might not be the most people friendly
Another great day doing your magic!! Thanks for the video Egg!!! I hate it that some skyscrapers dont have any lights at night or they are too weak, they should have done a better job at this.
I know the city is supposed to be as vanilla as possible but you can fix the bugged monorail/ship hub by unlocking (network multitool) the station track and the road with monorail tracks in front of the harbour and replace them with the normal station track. Now the hub works for me. Maybe its not in the spirit of the series but it just fixes a bug so I think it should be alright.
Another great video in a really great series, perhaps one of the best CS series out there sofar. Looks so nice, keep it coming Sir of the calcium shell
Egg please add a couple of the new large parking garages. Most downtowns of this size would have multiple large parking garages sprinkled around the city. You would almost certainly have one near the stadium with a skywalk connecting the 2.
Looks awesome! I know skyscrapers have parking garages underneath the tower irl, but Cities doesn’t simulate that (unless you count “pocket cars”🙃) so could you add a parking garage or two near the downtown/stadium? Additionally, the final turn on the metro line just above the roundabout is a bit sharpe, could you smoothen that out?
An idea for the stadium. A lot of the time, teams have what’s called a “walk” that’s usually a street or pedestrian walkway that leads up to the stadium that has food, sponsored game tents, local radio hosts, and small bands on it. I think it’d be a great idea for that long walkway going to the stadium. Look up “*x team* walk” ex: “Ravens walk nfl”.
I really really wish you would put down the metro plaza in the center of your downtown, for me it is a must have content for downtown, its so cool to see people go up and down suranded by scycrapers
City Planner usually buys in industries and invests extra money onto budget to increase funding to increase value. Also needs to do a bank episode? Can't wait to ride train view when downtown finished.
Everything looks incredible Egg!, I would just be weary of how much density you're packing into the CBD. Very satisfying. Great look with the Green Cities high density residential next to the approach on the elevated highway @1:00:30
Waoaw!! even though the towers are crowding one another as they are jammed in tight, it looks awesome after you detail the surrounding areas.
Now that hotels and retreats dlc has come up, I suggest you to wait a little bit for ocean park to use the DLC there.

Good job! :D

Agreed. In addition to being functional and necessary for traffic success, the networks and stations combined with the buildings can add such a distinct vibe. I think it's that combination that adds the personality.
Always love a good downtown build from you! Can't wait for more!
Might be my favorite episode of this series!
Love it! I just think that more height variety and a clear skyscraper dominating the skyline would look even better.
Great episode! The downtown build came out very nicely and very beautiful 😍
So basically you are building (if the airport is there) a HK Kai Tak Airport (2023 version).
Planes flying over/near skyscrapers/high buildings.
I am enjoying the series. Keep up the good work
I haven't seen that airport but will definitely check it out :) Thank you!
Awesome video! The skyscrapers next to the waterfront reminds me so much of Perth.. especially with the modern stadiums in amongst them.
Perth was definitely an inspo point for that green park with the shopping :)
wonderful build Egg! just one thing, at 1:00:22 there is the elevated walkway that seems not to have been reconnected to the ground. For all of the rest, great job as always!
Fantastic Egg, best thing about this episode is the way you enjoyed building it. Your excitement is addictive... love it. keep it up. :)
Chirpy cruises is one of the easiest ones to make money with, just make sure you dont buy at the peak, but rather at the bottom. Easy millions
Took abit to get that disaster memorial but it's worth it! The buildings look so realistic, not too close but also not far away from each.
as someone who plays on remastered, I was dreading the skyline episode because I knew I was going to be super jealous of having access to the skyscrapers pack, but the building was so good that I don't mind it too much
Another egg-sellent episode!
I'm dying to get a proper transit line overview (maybe even a route map?) It's my favourite part of the game - and with how walkable OB is, it would be really cool to see how the different systems and pathways etc interact
Thanks for the series, man, it has been incredibly enjoyable. You are going to run out of money soon!
Will never get bored of watching you piece together skylines. Orchid Bay's own CBD ( Chungus Boi District) looks nearly as good as Ilos' !!
Really loving the skycrapers and how it's turned out! Super job!🤩
That skyline is looking amazing. And the detail around the stadium 🤘😎 . Great Job.
love the build egg!!! I feel like the skyline needs a pointy building. Every building is flat topped
Thinking for instance of the match-day experience at United - how far to the closest pub? And so on
Really nice DT! I actually don't mind the stock exchange building, or the other financial buildings. I think they look great! 🙌
Liked as soon as I pulled the video up. I can’t wait to watch this, I’m sure this is going to be great!
maybe the best episode so far, and that's hard to say considering the quality of the rest of the serie
Another great day doing your magic!! Thanks for the video Egg!!!
I hate it that some skyscrapers dont have any lights at night or they are too weak, they should have done a better job at this.
love your choice of music in this series.
I’m guessing in the waterfront park you may place the observation tower, pearls of the east tower and/or the gherkin?
loving this series and all the tips and tricks has definitely made a massive difference in my own builds!
Fantastic. Only thing I’m not 100% on is towers directly adjacent to other towers without even a single tile space between them.
super impressed with how this city is coming alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The one we've been waiting for! Amazing work! Thank you as always
46:32 What's the name of this mod for aligning trees in any shape?
Please🙏
I know the city is supposed to be as vanilla as possible but you can fix the bugged monorail/ship hub by unlocking (network multitool) the station track and the road with monorail tracks in front of the harbour and replace them with the normal station track. Now the hub works for me. Maybe its not in the spirit of the series but it just fixes a bug so I think it should be alright.
That stock exchange at night !!!!SPICY!!!! Downtown looking so good :)
Some impressive tower and plaza tetris in this episode. To great effect!
Another great video in a really great series, perhaps one of the best CS series out there sofar.
Looks so nice, keep it coming Sir of the calcium shell
I think that now that we have the vacation resorts/hotels dlc comming maybe something nice and modern feeling may fit well with this downtown
WOW just WOW, which is something cool! Oh oh! idea, maybe make a central train center or something like that
Egg please add a couple of the new large parking garages.
I was hoping for a nighttime view of the skyline :( , btw great video as always 👍🏻 😁
End cinematics mate! Thank you!
@@OVERCHARGEDEGG im sorry I mean actually 1mint was not enough for me , I was hoping to see the skyline from every viewpoint 🤧🤧 , thanks for the ❤️ 😄
Loving that thumbnail. Awesome work
I really really wish you would put down the metro plaza in the center of your downtown, for me it is a must have content for downtown, its so cool to see people go up and down suranded by scycrapers
that tower placement
Yay my favorite day of the week 😊
22:33 : NICE!
22:39 egg was trying so hard to keep it pg😂
City Planner usually buys in industries and invests extra money onto budget to increase funding to increase value.
Also needs to do a bank episode? Can't wait to ride train view when downtown finished.
