I sometimes forget that you don't have mods like move it while watching Orchid Bay, which is insane. You really know what you're doing and this interchange shows it. Looks really great and fits not only for the current situation but also for what will come after. :) Also keep the elevation, it's a nice vibe.
His tram maintenance stops were a perfect stop to drop a warehouse on top of the tracks with 'Move It' 😂 Could have the trams go inside a shed/warehouse, stop at a stop and then come out.
Honestly, I feel like a few villages out in the outskirts of Orchid bay would be nice.Nothing too large, low density. Take the villages in Yorkshire for example.
Slight elevation for the train is a keeper. Enjoying all the network planning episodes too, it might feel like you're repeating yourself but every interchange, every road network you make is different so it's not boring at all, I definitely learn a lot from you still 😊 Can't wait for what you have in store for Karen (and Sharon later on)
Your use of terrain heights and sloping when you build networks is always on point. This is a cool take on a custom interchange and it flows really nicely. I'm always a fan of your network planning episodes, I feel like one of my biggest problems is the pre-planning of networks for future builds. Well done always OE 🤙
I feel like the main highway on the Karen interchange needs to be elevated all the way through as it just looks better. The visual road design changes too much if only part of it is elevated. Love the network episodes Egg!
Or do the same as the rail project, keep it elevated and levelled, becuase the dip is a bit strange, but keep the terrain high as if it is embanked, just slightly elevated from ground level
Some suggestions for the top of that mountain where the road to nowhere from the silver birch lined interchange. I think it could work as either a new commuter town marked for development due to requirement for housing (Green cities housing, almost american-style shopping in the middle and very walkable) or an old town used in ancient times because the mountain gave a very good vantage point. With that you could also work in some kind of nature reserve and turn it into a historical tourist attraction of some kind i think
Love the slightly elevated train, Agree that custom interchanges are better esp considering terrain and already built up areas. Would love to see a truck stop/motel build on the national road between the 2 roundabouts as you go to the forestry build side. it just feels so perfect for a start of a countryside. love the build!!
The interchanges look amazing. Egg has definitely gotten a lot better at building them. The elevated train-line looks pretty good as well because it looks a lot like a recent major infrastructure project with no context with the surrounding neighborhood. Hmmm, sounds familiar. Anyways, great infrastructure work once again.
I think it'd be funny if you were to add an "Out-Of-Town" Casino way off from anything else. Maybe gambling is illegal within city limits of Orchid Bay, but there is still a lot of people who want to gamble and would drive out there. Since it's out-of-town, it probably won't have city services all the way out there so no public transport, instead big ugly parking lots! I'm loving the series, keep up the great work mate!
Please Can u make a video on" tips to how to fill awkward spaces in city skyline" my City is filled with awkward spaces :( , btw keep the elevation train line
I like the elevated rail, it's already an established theme in the city so it's good to continue it. I'm also excited at the amount of roads that go nowhere. Means there's lots more to come :)
I like the elevated rail, they have railings on the side for extra detail. There's a bit of a bump that goes over a road but it's a easy fix. Lol I saw you added those slip ramps on the other interchange~ 😆
Your builds are the best. Youre constantly building the most enjoyable cities and creating a great atmosphere in this game. It is a challenging game to do all of this in one take. It would take me a full day or more to build and detail what you did in probably 2 or 3 hours.
I absolutely love Orchid Bay, great work, wish I could live there :D definitely keep as much rail elevated as you can it looks cool and seems safer. Also, I'd like to see more direct access from the new interchange to the downtown avenue. It looks like there is a movement missing. The avenue has easy access to get on the highway in both directions, and there is the movement from the highway that went past old orchid bay to the avenue via one of the roundabouts, but there isn't a movement from the close edge of the map directly to the avenue. Someone going that direction would have to go through both roundabouts and loop around, or go through Karen to get to the avenue which looks like it might be adding some pressure through Karen.
Every time I watch you, I’m so motivated to keep playing and trying new things. Your build style and planning resonates with me so much. I lit up when you mentioned roadside motels, I would love some “small town” vibes on the outside of oracle bay. Reminds me of the small towns outside Ilos. Keep feeding me that amazing content brotha. Cheers.
Absolutely in love with every episode of this series. Watched a few of em several times over. Egg you are such an amazing C:S creator and thank you for your productions 💜 love seeing you pop up in my notifications
I like that the elevated rail line mirrors the elevation in one of the parks you created in an earlier episode. Makes me think in my head that it was maybe the same engineering or design team for Orchid Bay.
Well I had so very much fun building along with you on this one but updated the game and my mods last night and ALL my detailing is gone lol. I simply don’t have the heart to redetail the entire city at this point but keep up the great work I can’t wait to see where you go next! Sort of a new player so I thank you for the inspiration and learning I got following along and building with you! I’ll keep watching for sure! Thanks Egg!
I’d love to see how you would do a oil town with the oil extractors pumps in the actual town pollution might be a problem though it still would be super cool
Stunning as usual! I was thinking tho. Maybe in the traffic circles between Karen and Sharon having the two different water towers? Kinda like “You’re crossing the wrong side of the highway?” It’s unfortunate you don’t have flags for each side but maybe that would be a cute “Hatfield n’ McCoy” type thing 🙏🏽. Also, raised train line 🙂
Nothing more satisfying than achieving these type of builds in Vanilla. Thats why I play Vanilla most of the time, I like the challenge and reward that comes with it.
The custom interchange looks "WOW" and flows amazingly. If I was a Sim driving on it though, I think I would have preferred the elevated highway portion to stay elevated rather than dip down to ground between overpasses. I like the railway being elevated. It looks so much better running through a populated area than just the basic "rails on a flat dirt path"
I do appreciate the customness of the interchange and between your suggestions and CPP, i am trying to be braver and not defaulting to a "what premades can I just toss in here"
Elevated / slightly elevated trains both look great👍🏼 Idea for far out roads and small towns: How about a golf course or country club? I know that those don’t exist in the vanilla game but you could certainly mimic the look of a golf course in the woods with the right detailing skills! I would love to see your take on that ;)
Keep the train line elevated. Perhaps a basic country airstrip in the more rural part. Nature reserves, and perhaps an abandoned mining quarry/ghost town would be cool.
Good stuff again. The main highway now has a dip between the two small bridges in the custom interchange. I'd remove that, probably by adding a meter or two of dirt.
Looks great. The first interchange looks a bit odd though, it's like a roller coaster through the middle. I'd probably keep it elevated instead of going to ground level and then raising it again. The tree brush looks fantastic
This should be called "The Art of Moving Traffic." Thanks for this great video and will try to adapt this to my city. It really adds functionality and life to underutilized spaces
I like the train line as it is, big fan of well designed elevated trains. Regarding other things out on the fringes of the city, maybe a multi-sport stadium/park area, like Flushing Meadows in NY or Crystal Palace in London? Huge buildings in a manicured park land vibes.
I feel there should be a slip lane for traffic coming from the edge of the map to the downtown. At a similar to location to the downtown to the starting tile. Additionally, you added four lanes to the merging points of the highway yet downgraded the highway in between the ramps, causing 2+1 lanes into 4.
The interchange shown at 28:47, where the highway dips underground, could easily be replaced with a single intersection at instead of two. Have the highway on and off ramps on either side of the crossing street come together at a bidirectional four lane road that has a single at grade crossing and then breaks into the on/off ramps for the other side.
I bote to keep the viaducts elevated but not embanked :) I love network episodes! I learn so much for the vanilla side of networks. Patience and practise is all you need :) Looking forward to the transport hub!
At 17:36 you remove a train station and it never comes back while an elevated station would be a great solution here - with or without the embankment before and after.
I like the high speed rail line but I feel like the embankment isn't needed. An elevated viaduct the whole way with maybe a small park underneath could add to the whole vibe of a brand new train line being punched through an old town.... Up into the country side mountains I'd love to see something like an old village with a castle, like you sometimes find in Europe. The hill would have provided good defense in the past so it'd make sense for a small town to still be there. Branching off of that could be some nature reserves and small country hotels.
Great work OE. I was thinking that maybe you could raise a little that space between the 2 bridges at the connection so it would not have that height difference; or maybe making then a sole bridge. Thank you!
I thimk youre getting better at interchanges. One thing tho, i think your heights are a little wonky, but its any easy fix and not a huge deal. You just gotta delete the roads at ground level and bump the height up just a touch and your highway will be more even and less rollercoatery
There is a trick for building bridges in vanilla. When you dig out the land between the two sides of the bridge really deep, and then build the bridge, it will become very smooth. Then just fill in the land to the desired height. This trick by Captain Ahvious really helps me with my interchanges.
some sound barriers on certain segments of highway would be nice now with 25 tiles open, like around windfall heights, karen and eventually sharon. other than that maybe some spread out country res with some farm fields? and wind turbines, more turbines lol
Delightful eye-candy and great inspiration as usual! Catching up... I hope you went for elevated rail through Karen (the contrast with the dingy bits is great). And the countryside is coming out well. 👍
I like the Idea of a Zoo and theme park Combination. The backstory that the run down one lost out to the Zoo and they had better funding to get the larger attractions approved
33:08 hey egg its me, your fav reply guy. I think the thru lanes on the motorway look a bit odd to elevate twice within a quarter mile rather than just stay elevated
Great work fella...Nice to find someone playing vanilla. Us console players dont have the luxury of all the mods, picked up a lot of ideas from this one video. Looking forward to the next video and catching up on some of your previous ones, liked and subscribed. I'm for keeping the track elevated in Karen btw.
I would love to know what settings/visuals you use, I have the exact same PC (RAM is even a bit quicker) but I sit at about 20 FPS once I have any kind of decently populated area. I am using some mods, but not loads of visual changes. Would be good to know what performance and settings you see as your game looks really smooth!
The high speed/modern, slightly elevated train track in Karen will likely give them some minor, but very coveted, bragging rights over Sharon, so I'm all for a point of contention. Will have to wait on the Sharon build, though, to see if I'm team Karen or team Sharon.
I like the elevated style railway at ground level. it looks super clean. But I would def raise the ground height to just about level with the base of the track.
Enjoying the build!! For the sake of realism in my mind, please remove the lighting string on the "country roads". A few lights (maybe 2) leading up to and away from the roundabouts etc. going into the countryside is in order. Driving those spots in a real rural area would contain no lights due to who is paying the bill to run them? Have a great day and thanks! Gandalf 😎
Definitely keep the train elevation. You could put some sort of observatory/early warning post somewhere in the outer areas, or a research complex. And never apologize for building custom interchanges, I could use the tutorials!!
I think you should change some of the 6 lane roads downtown into 4 lane with tree median. Seems overbuilt for now and it would make more sense to be smaller now and add lanes in the future if needed
Hi! I’m pretty new to this channel, really like it. Let the train track elevated and modern. I like the mix of older and newer stuff.

9:09 - make the slip road two lanes as it will help the traffic from either side flow into it better.

This is just so good! I can't believe how easy you make all of these look
That intersection is extremely satisfying watching! The flow of traffic is amazing
Glad you enjoyed it!

Also thumbs up for the elevated train.
I like the slightly raised train on the embankment. It is an intersting look. Always nice to have a different vibe now and then to spice things up.
Absolutely beautiful how the interchange flows with the land. Looking stunning as always

Come post in the Discord help channel, we'll have a look at the save for you and get it working again :)
I love the elevated rail line, looks super clean.
What a great interchange build (actually builds 😀)! Love the time taken to make sure everything well prepared for the future.
I’d love to see how you would do a oil town with the oil extractors pumps in the actual town pollution might be a problem though it still would be super cool
If you do see this for residential u could use the university city with the old town or high-rise ban, it looks run down
Stunning as usual! I was thinking tho. Maybe in the traffic circles between Karen and Sharon having the two different water towers? Remove the fill from under the rail after it crosses the road and use an elevated station. Great interchange !!⭐️
Keep the train line elevated.

I like the raised train line.
Makes it alot more difficult for the ne'er-do-wells to get on the tracks than a simple fence.
I love that about to go to bed at 420am my time and, a video from you ... for me to watch and, fall asleep to & learn from .. Thanks again 😂👍🏻
I feel there should be a slip lane for traffic coming from the edge of the map to the downtown. At a similar to location to the downtown to the starting tile. Additionally, you added four lanes to the merging points of the highway yet downgraded the highway in between the ramps, causing 2+1 lanes into 4.
Hey Egg, what trees are you using for brush? My forrest around my highway looks poor and i like your tree setup alot so what mix you are using?
The interchange shown at 28:47, where the highway dips underground, could easily be replaced with a single intersection at instead of two. Have the highway on and off ramps on either side of the crossing street come together at a bidirectional four lane road that has a single at grade crossing and then breaks into the on/off ramps for the other side.
One of those country roads should lead to an exclusive luxury neighborhood. We had loads of those randomly off back roads where I live!
I never use the preset interchanges because they’re ugly and custom interchanges are super flexible. Also, that interchange is amazing!
I bote to keep the viaducts elevated but not embanked :)
I love network episodes! I learn so much for the vanilla side of networks. Patience and practise is all you need :)
Looking forward to the transport hub!

All the interchanges look gorgeous! Cant wait for whats next!
When are you going to do the airport?
I am just amazed by the your talents and I try to follow along with some of your builds. Really awesome.
Train needs to stay elevated like this. Especially the part where it’s not completely on the embankment because of the road looks amazing
Great work OE. I was thinking that maybe you could raise a little that space between the 2 bridges at the connection so it would not have that height difference; or maybe making then a sole bridge. Thank you!
i like the elevated train lines with a small “bridge”. Lore can be we are trying to bring new life to an old town.
I'm loving the new interchange, the 25-tile would be great to make the build feel like a county or some
I like the elevated train line in Karen. I’m sure you’ll make either work though. Love the build!
I thimk youre getting better at interchanges. One thing tho, i think your heights are a little wonky, but its any easy fix and not a huge deal. You just gotta delete the roads at ground level and bump the height up just a touch and your highway will be more even and less rollercoatery

nothing like taking your lunch break and watching some Orchid bay builds
i prefer tracks on the ground for karen
love the train elevation! i also always appreciate funky custom interchanges. it inspires me to challenge myself to not use the pre-builts 🤣
You know I love a network heavy video, and this didn't disappoint. I really like the elevated rail, BTW 👌
I like the Idea of a Zoo and theme park Combination. The backstory that the run down one lost out to the Zoo and they had better funding to get the larger attractions approved

25:59 I think a village on the moutain plateau would look amazing with the interchanges at its bottom
I say keep it slightly elevated because it will allow you to more easily put underpasses and other roads beneath it than if it was properly embanked
Custom interchanges look so much more natural and give that realism to the builds ❤
Enjoyed this episode ,keep the railway as u built it ,new development ,new tracks.
Oh wow, another double Orchid Bay week, you’re spoiling us! Yes please!
I like the elevated train lines
The high speed/modern, slightly elevated train track in Karen will likely give them some minor, but very coveted, bragging rights over Sharon, so I'm all for a point of contention. Will have to wait on the Sharon build, though, to see if I'm team Karen or team Sharon.
Harp interchange?
I just wish I could make good looking interchanges
I like the elevated style railway at ground level. it looks super clean. But I would def raise the ground height to just about level with the base of the track.
oh wait... i just realized this is a old video 🤣i look forward to seeing how it turns out
Enjoying the build!! For the sake of realism in my mind, please remove the lighting string on the "country roads". Two episodes in one week👌 can't complain about that!! Keep the elevated high speed rail.
Definitely keep the train elevation.
You could put some sort of observatory/early warning post somewhere in the outer areas, or a research complex.
And never apologize for building custom interchanges, I could use the tutorials!!
Really like the elevated train but I think you forgot to reconnect the European bridge to Karen when you changed the train track.
I would say elevation on tracks Also, it would be cool to see the entire city during the episode sometime.
Keep the rail viaduct as a viaduct and keep the terrain level the same as it was before you raised it up.
Yes, elevated the high-speed railway, sort of like the surbub is being improved
Hey egg! Elevated looks awesome as you get the fencing.
Love network builds!
Elevated train yes.
I think you should change some of the 6 lane roads downtown into 4 lane with tree median. Seems overbuilt for now and it would make more sense to be smaller now and add lanes in the future if needed
I prefer the elevated train track, great video again mate. Looks amazing
I think Elevated rail is awesome, cars won't have to stop when a train is coming through.
keep the railway line elevated. in japan the high speed railway line is also elevated to keep it secure and safe. it makes it look more important.
Hi! I’m pretty new to this channel, really like it. Thanks UA-cam algorithm 😊 I have yet one thing that bothers me, and I’m not sure if it’s just me, but when I watch your videos on my television it’s really hard to hear your voice. It’s a very low and dark sound in my opinion. When you do the decoration timelapses (which are great by the way) I need to grab the remote and turn the volume way down.
It could be just me, but maybe some other people have this to. I really appreciate the videos! Thanks
An out of town shopping center or an Expo site could work well in the open, empty areas of the map
City is looking so good! 🔥
Elevated railway looks nice. I don't think ground level train on embankment would be as attractive.
Awesome episode! You should leave the rail elevated.
