I got the E-DX (110cm chain + DX shackle lock + Z LOK security tie) and a second Lock for my e mtb. I will carry the E-DX in a luggage carrier bag. I am happy
problem I have with this is, it cost just as much as my Ebike. about 60% - 70%, still better than sorry tho. x2 D-lock and a chain is an absolute must! a cheap alarm helps deter casual thieves too.
Because if you do it the other way around they can grind through the chain faster than the lock and the bike will be free to go. The way suggested means if they attack the chain first (the easiest) then they still cannot ride the bike away, they have to carry it...
Assuming that's a 10mm chain, then that's going to be running around six pounds with the large padlock. Assuming the D-1000 weighs the same as the Krypto (yellow) New York U-lock, then that's four pounds. So ten full pounds for both. Don't you think that's a bit much to be hauling around in a pack? I use either the U-lock and a smaller chain lock, or a larger chain lock and a cable with padlock. In one case it's about 7.5 lbs. and in one case it's 6.5 lbs.
@@bingbong-yn6yg I get by with the pack for almost everything excepting packing the secondary chain on the frame coming back. I just find a space in the pack for the U-lock with the groceries. Works for me, even with the heavier chain and the smaller chain combined for around 8 and a half pounds.
The Battery is usually locked by a separate key. But what most people don't know, is most of this lock can easily be picked. If you know what "raking" is, its that easy. So I usually will put a cable lock on the battery too. Remember the battery usually cost 60%-70% of the whole ebike.
02:16 YES. but they still need to get the lock off eventually. Nothing is lock proof, if there's a will there's a way. IMO if you spend a lot on your Ebike you should do the same for its security.
They sell chains and pad locks too I think. That will have to do even if not as grinder resistant. I f you can't fit one of the grinder resistant U or D locks out there, there are a few, then a hardened square or polygonal security chain and a big secure padlock will have to suffice. Security chain not regular chain and a padlock you research not just any old one...Videos more aimed at scooter and motorcycle owners would be more appropriate to watch for you...
I got a D1000 and x chain for my ebike. they are pricey and bit heavy but also give me the peace of mind to lock my bike in the streets of mexico
You still have it or did it get stolen?
still have it @@diegoyuiop
Ok I'll buy one for my scooter then! @@paadillaa
Aun sigue contigo tu ebike?

We decided not to park it anywhere but home. A mountain ride with kilo's extra on top of the already heavy Ebike spoils the fun.

Drop the price, an then I'll buy.
$300 lock for a $1000-$5000 Bike/E-Bike
where do you keep the chain? do you use a backpack or can you have it wrapped around the bike all the time?
All those locks must be heavy to carry imo
Not as heavy as the bill for a new bike.
Depending on what you ride of course.
@@taxibeforesunsetclips7629But... they are REALLY heavy!...as, of course, are the bikes, anyway.
can't find it anywhere to buy it though, it says sold out all the time if I do find it. Where can I buy this in Canada?
Amazon isn't in Canada?
I have a VESPA GTS300 Super Sport, What is the best way to lock it with HIPLOK, the D1000 does not fit over the wheels
Im curious why you would use rhe D1000 to lock thr frame and tire and rhe chain around the object at thr location instead of the other way around?

Or carry your locks in panniers.
You literally have to weigh your options...
Can they steal your battery or easily remove it?

@ Appreciate this. Definitely looking into getting one but they seem so easy to steal, absolutely want to take all precautions.
Cut through the bar its attached too 🤷🏻

If only your locks were remotely market competitive in price to your competitors.
A savvy thief would simply cut through the bike rack, take the bikes home and cut through the tough locks in pizza and quiet. ;-)
Too expensive jack.....
