    For people who live in California like my self this is our only option for a V8 wrangler that can be street legal. Aftermarket swaps are great but wicked expensive and can only be trailered to to trail.

      Great run down on the 392 but the price is going to be way out of my price range. I'll stick with my 07 2 dr already put dynatrac pro44 w/RCV axles and trail 60 with 5.13, rock krawler 3.5 lift and woody driveshafts. Now I need a v8 swap.

    the aftermarket probably has a big ol woody already for the mods to this engine to push it well over 500. ain't gonna lie, i'm very interested in a hemi wrangler. i love my 2.0 I4 but driving a power wagon every day with the hemi strait piped makes me smile every time i start the truck.

    I wouldn't plan on 32" of water fording but many of the trails we do in Colorado cross rivers/streams/creeks deeper than one may be comfortable with depending on the time of day due to snow melt. One of our favorites you cross the Rio Grande and Pole Creek, which is the official start of the Rio Grande. That crossing gets fairly sketchy depending on time of day and having extra room for error is always nice.

    Interesting point Bubba, the guy I've been working with at the Jeep dealership called and asked if I wanted to reserve one since they are only getting 8 for the year. They are loaded models and since FCA is not accepting special orders yet. And the best part, msrp is 75k, and the dealer is adding 10k premium to that. I won't be getting one!

    • @Exodus4x4
      @Exodus4x4  3 роки тому +1

      I’m not sure FCA has actually announced a price yet but I feel like the target is $74k and yes, dealers will probably add another $10k on top of it just because they can. Suddenly it’s not cheaper than the aftermarket.

      In 3-5yrs the resell is still gonna be a ton, because these will be limited production unicorns. The dealerships are not going to be able to get them like the 3.6L Pentastars due to CAFE restrictions. They are going to be rare New, and even more rare used, and priced accordingly. Still a solid 2-3 years minimum left for the aftermarket swaps. It will probably dip a bit once these start becoming available used but I think there’s still a couple JLs and JTs out there with owners that love their builds and don’t want to start all the way over.

    • @thereissomecoolstuff
      @thereissomecoolstuff 3 роки тому +5

      @@goodfellowoffroad6253 Jeep has the aftermarket beat in 2 areas. A hemi swap is $35k plus the price of the vehicle. So $65-70k will be competitive. The only positive I saw in the video from Jeep was the half doors and the hood. I would think it would be smarter to get a stock wrangler and take it to y’all at Exodus 4x4 or America’s most wanted 4x4 and build it right. I’m hoping the wife lets me go to y’all for a hemi swap in the future.
    I guess my only question would be is Jeep going to maintain their customers or with the Bronco already having the option of 35”s and the possible V8 in the future that people are slowly if not quickly will be swapping over to Bronco? I love my JLU but I’ll be checking the Bronco out when it starts showing up to the future car shows.

      Otherwise the v8 that they’re coming out with for the wrangler, do you think it’s smaller or just not modded to produce the horse power and torque the hemi’s that y’all install?
