Why is it that when I watch and listen to her, almost regardless of the song she’s singing, my eyes fill with tears - and I’m an 82 year old US Marine?
I am right there with you, that lady is the only one who can make cry tears of happiness and sadness at the same time, she is and forever will be the VOICE of my life.
You Sir, have a story to tell, don't you ? Something or someone has done something to you. It's quite ok to cry, I'm not quite your age Sir, only 77 yo. We all have a story, life is a journey..... it's ok to cry sometimes.
Linda Ronstadt could do whatever she wanted with her voice. She didn't even consider herself to be a rock singer, that style of music was almost an afterthought to her, yet she could pull it off with such panache. Definitely the most versatile singer ever.
In Denver at Mile High Sunday 3 every group on the stage started out as her backup band including the Eagles. She performed just before the Eagles who closed it out . What a day that was , that entire Stadium was literally Rocking .
Thank God we have the means to record such a great talent and beautiful lady for posterity. I can not get enough of her wonderful performances. I hope she takes as much pride in her accomplishments in days gone by as her talent deserves. Thanks, Ms. Ronstadt, for letting us get lost in the wonder of it all.

When I returned to the "world" from Vietnam Linda Ronstadt was just gaining recognition and fame. She was the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen. I bought all of her albums and just about wore them out!
Linda, of the several shows I caught of you back in the day, my favorite had to be in New Orleans at The Saenger Theater. You threw that beautiful, pitch perfect, powerful voice to the back of the venue as if it was nothing. Desperado brought the house down. Willie Nelson was right when he said, “there are two types of men in the world. Those that love Linda, and the rest who haven’t heard or seen her yet.” He was so right. 😉

...same age, Allan. I listened to her from back in the '60s and still have some of her recordings. After a lifetime in music, both instrumental & vocal, I haven't come across anyone better! First... she's REAL not edited into perfection. Her sound is still as fresh and clear as ever, even if the recordings are a wee bit "aged." Getting to listen to her recent interviews is still a treasure. The voice may not be as strong as it once was but her mind is still sharp and the personality still comes through!
No strobe lights - no pyrotechnics - no dancers: just one beautiful lady with one of the most pure, powerful, dynamic and greatest range voices ever heard. Linda your music is timeless and your voice will never be stilled.
Linda still blows me away. Hers was my first record album. I'm so glad we were able to benefit from her remarkable talents. She is still with us and I hope she is still enjoying her life away from performing. We still love you, dear Linda
I LOVE this tune. Linda Ronstadt’s career was impressive and she deserves much respect. I’m sorry to hear about her affliction with Parkinson’s disease, which has ended her music career, but we still have her recordings and videos like these to cherish. Love her voice and this band rocked.
To paraphrase a comment, if you were not in love, (lust) with her, you were likely gay. I have enough gay friends who loved her singing that I’m not sure that it matters.

LINDA, the most fabulous female singer of all time. The rich voice she has is out of this world. Watching her gives me goose bumps, so beautiful, sexy and humble.....she delivers her songs so easily, an angel from heaven!
Don’t miss the Linda Ronstadt documentary put together by CNN and playing now in HBO Max. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll get swallowed by her history, beginning in the late 60s of collaborating, living, partying, studying music, and starry-eyed hippy loving with most of the top ranking musicians in rock, folk, folk rock, Brit rock, country, Americana, classical, talk radio, Mexican folk and mariachi music, big band standards in collaboration with arguably the greatest bug band music arranger, Nelson Riddle, on and on.
Those of us who have had the enormous privilege of following Linda singing since she was a young girl and have had the good fortune to continuing listening to her all these years, can only thank her for the feeling and quality with which she has honored us. Thank you very much, Linda!!!
Linda Ronstadt will always have a special place in my heart for this song. That Billy Payne is really good too if you listen to his keyboard playing. 😎
@@chriswalters6148 Yes, she was a singer to her core. She was gorgeous too but that was not the point of her. She knew a song, a fine song and she went with it.. That was what drove her and, because her voice could do anything, it took her into all those genres she explored. She is absolutely my heroine.
Let's not forget the Great American Songbook. Ronstadt did three albums of standards; two of them were big hits. Canciones de Mi Padre, a mariachi album, was a hit as well, showing that she could take her fans on various musical trips.

Linda's a wonderful, sincere lady. I love ❤ listening to her 🎵 songs!
as I replied on the Linda Ronstadt Experience 4 song melody: oh lordy! I've always answered "what's the best version of any song?" with "Easy, did Linda Ronstadt ever sing it?"
Now I can answer "ok, then what is the second best version?" with "have you heard of Tristan?". With the luxury of a lottery win, I will travel all the way from Australia just to watch you all live, as I never saw Linda live. Those men must bless the day they found her.
Saw Linda in Arrowhead Stadium 1978 with Joe Walsh, and The Eagles and guaranteed.....SHE IS THAT BEAUTIFUL and the voice can not be matched !!
So much power and talent out of that little frame, just wow...

Rock's Venus. Simple and complicated, tough and tender. Gorgeous clear voice belting or crooning. Explore her vast deep repetoire. This here is the simple stuff.
