I love that she walks away from the mic and lets the band shine.
Why is it that when I watch and listen to her, almost regardless of the song she’s singing, my eyes fill with tears - and I’m an 82 year old US Marine?
I am right there with you, that lady is the only one who can make cry tears of happiness and sadness at the same time, she is and forever will be the VOICE of my life.
happens to a lot of us.....
Your not the only one brother, and thank you for your service to our country.
You Sir, have a story to tell, don't you ? Something or someone has done something to you.
It's quite ok to cry, I'm not quite your age Sir, only 77 yo. We all have a story, life is a journey..... it's ok to cry sometimes.
Long Long Time always gets me. Love Has No Pride too.
This never gets old!!!
No matter how old we get!!!
I’m turning (66) yrs. 🎉
One of the greatest female singers of all time.
She has the gift. Is why your eyes tear up. One of the greatest singers ever. No one comes close to sounding like her. Not yet anyway. .
No stage theatrics. Straight up, straight ahead, knock ‘‘em on their asses talent!
Exactly ...
When I returned to the "world" from Vietnam Linda Ronstadt was just gaining recognition and fame. She was the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen. I bought all of her albums and just about wore them out!
Exactly !😅
Welcome home brother....and thank you! Semper Fi
Just stands at the mike and belts it; unbelievable intensity amplifies unmatched God-given gift…nobody is like her.
She looks and talks like the girl next door, but sings like a diva.
Poor Mike, getting a belting.
probably best female singer of my generation
She’s awesome
Hi David, How you doing?
NO!, Lily Tomlin was the greatest! LOL!
Up there with Stevie Nicks in my opinion
Same
Quite simply: heart, personality, honesty, nothing fake - that's it! That is her!
Linda Ronstadt could do whatever she wanted with her voice. She didn't even consider herself to be a rock singer, that style of music was almost an afterthought to her, yet she could pull it off with such panache. Definitely the most versatile singer ever.
Her voice is Angelic
Hi jack, How you doing?
In Denver at Mile High Sunday 3 every group on the stage started out as her backup band including the Eagles. She performed just before the Eagles who closed it out . What a day that was , that entire Stadium was literally Rocking .
She recorded a jazz album too with Riddle and I believe was in Pirates of Penzance
she's such a powerhouse of a performer yet so soft and pretty.
Pretty is an incredible understatement
I think all of us old men are the same I’m 76 and just love her music
3:37 hey, I am 53 and love Linda ronstadt
71.feel the same way about her , came back to the world in December of 75 & saw her live at Denver Mile High Sunday #3 on 8/9/76 & again at universal studios in LA in September of 77 . Fantastic show’s magnificent voice great stage presence.
That was 8/8/77
...same age, Allan. I listened to her from back in the '60s and still have some of her recordings. After a lifetime in music, both instrumental & vocal, I haven't come across anyone better! First... she's REAL not edited into perfection. Her sound is still as fresh and clear as ever, even if the recordings are a wee bit "aged." Getting to listen to her recent interviews is still a treasure. The voice may not be as strong as it once was but her mind is still sharp and the personality still comes through!
Can’t overlook the piano player adding his personal touch to this great song and Linda’s fantastic vocals
Great Pianist Bill Payne from Little Feat on the ivory!
We had the best female singers in the 70's and 80's. Linda, Ann Wilson, Pat Benatar, Patty Smyth and so many more!
oh my goodness dude you nailed it and not sure where these girls get the pipes from with mostly small frames but we were blessed.
No frills. Just a beautiful lady singing her heart out.
Yesss, plus, she's awesome!!!! I really like her.
She is second to none...love her!
@@johngiovine8792 Me too. Fantastic Singer. Prettier than a speckled puppy.
in her day the best pipes in the business. she had that elvis quality, take a song and make it hers.
You said it brother , singing her heart out! You heard the term wearing your heart on your sleeve? Linda's wore her heart in voice. She could could choke me up with tears of joy and sadness at the same time and put a lump in my throat that made me speechless. Oh my God what an incredible woman , i felt her emotions through her voice,. Linda is unmatched and unrivaled . in this world you yave singers and then there is Linda!
I am SO GLAD Linda chose to record this great song!
We grew up in a time of incomparable music performers!! Linda was undeniably on the list!!
A great voice is never disguised by technology and this lady has a great great set of pipes! A true gift for the ages!!!
More cowbell!
IMHO - SHE & CYNDI LAUPER WERE IN A CLASS BY THEMSELVES
She had no peers in the 70s and 80s. Such a divine creature.
Still doesn’t
Shirley Bassie can't be topped.
Billy Payne killing it on keyboards
I’m an old woman 77 and I love LR just as much as the OLD MEN….. our generation produced so many good singers…. Something in the water? Lol
All that LSD that fell in the local reservoirs 😅😂
Her and her band were fantastic.
Anyone born after say 1965 cannot begin to appreciate how HUGE she was simultaneously in the world of country, rock, folk....everything, That voice was monster.
She was incredible live. One of the few female performers who filled the Arenas with male rockers and such.
Spot on
You forgot operetta--remember she played on Broadway and in the movie of "The Pirates of Penzance"with Rex Smith, Kevin Kline and Angela Landsbury.
For some reason---hadn't played it in awhile--I started listening to "The very best of" album. You're absolutely right--monster voice. I think I'm driving my neighbors crazy!
Born 65 !
Even mariachi music. Her love.
How can you not love this amazing, talented woman. She is one of the standards that all should aspire to be. Wow, just going out on a stage and performing with actual talent. No sissified background dancers, numerous costume changes, lip syncing, auto tune and all it curtails ad nauseum. And as for the thumbs downs; well, opinions are like a$$holes, every one has one. Bless your hearts.
stendec 5762 thumbs up their asses.
Your Logic on Linda is spot on.
Thank you.
For me it's much simpler..FUCK YOU to all the thumbs down assholes!

Shes' the Queen ....get in line.
No comparison or better singer

Not, lame
Agree. 👍🤗✌️.
Thank God we have the means to record such a great talent and beautiful lady for posterity. I can not get enough of her wonderful performances. I hope she takes as much pride in her accomplishments in days gone by as her talent deserves. Thanks, Ms. Ronstadt, for letting us get lost in the wonder of it all.
I LOVE this tune. Linda Ronstadt’s career was impressive and she deserves much respect. I’m sorry to hear about her affliction with Parkinson’s disease, which has ended her music career, but we still have her recordings and videos like these to cherish. Love her voice and this band rocked.
私も、そう想いますね。リンダ ライブの女王ですね。🥰🎶👍️病気に 負けないで頑張ってね。日本の、来日を待っていますね。
To paraphrase a comment, if you were not in love, (lust) with her, you were likely gay. I have enough gay friends who loved her singing that I’m not sure that it matters.
It’s incredibly sad, but even though she no longer sings publicly-she does still sing with a few lucky family/friends. She really is a wonderful lady.
You betcha!!
She is my favorite female singerHers has been a life so full of accomplishment...and she brought joy and pleasure to many millions of people. She can really look back with pride.
One of the most powerful female voices ever..
The only one I think could hold a candle to Linda Ronstadt is "Natalia" of the Dixie Chicks
Randy Newman called her Mighty Mouse, because she was small but had a huge voice.
Another. ..Ann Wilson of Heart both have what is called a dramatic soprano voce...can overpower even a 100 piece orchestra...
Ann wilson
Beautiful
I love Linda Ronstadt ♥️ she is very unique with her style and her quality of music 🎶 🎵, she just puts on a beautiful performance 🎉🎉
Pure voice❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
She makes it look so effortless ! That is what genuine talent looks like......
There will never be another one like her. Linda your voice will NEVER be stilled and you are loved by countless fans.
and shes half MEXICAN yes baby. we got soul.

As usual.
Those were amazing times. ❤

Linda still blows me away. Hers was my first record album. I'm so glad we were able to benefit from her remarkable talents. She is still with us and I hope she is still enjoying her life away from performing. We still love you, dear Linda
My first LP too
@callen8908 my paternal grandmother was a Callen. Second generation born in the US.
Man o man her voice is just perfection.
best pipes in the business bar none.
No strobe lights - no pyrotechnics - no dancers: just one beautiful lady with one of the most pure, powerful, dynamic and greatest range voices ever heard. Linda your music is timeless and your voice will never be stilled.
She slayed every song she performed....every one!
I concur! Hahahahaha!
Jim Cassady. Yes she certainly did. Every single one. Astonishing gifted artist who's legacy speaks for itself. Music royalty with a huge list of credits, awards & accolades to her name. A showcase of brilliance & enormous success !!!
THAT SHE MOST CERTAINLY DID! THE BEST FEMALE VOCAL OF ALL-TIME!!!
Linda's a wonderful, sincere lady. I love ❤ listening to her 🎵 songs!
as I replied on the Linda Ronstadt Experience 4 song melody: oh lordy! I've always answered "what's the best version of any song?" with "Easy, did Linda Ronstadt ever sing it?"
Now I can answer "ok, then what is the second best version?" with "have you heard of Tristan?". With the luxury of a lottery win, I will travel all the way from Australia just to watch you all live, as I never saw Linda live. Those men must bless the day they found her.
Makes me feel good when she sings
That is how it is done kids!Just wow.
Man, that girl could sing. Strong and to the point. Rockin' or rolling ...Yeah, yeah, yeah
Don’t miss the Linda Ronstadt documentary put together by CNN and playing now in HBO Max. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll get swallowed by her history, beginning in the late 60s of collaborating, living, partying, studying music, and starry-eyed hippy loving with most of the top ranking musicians in rock, folk, folk rock, Brit rock, country, Americana, classical, talk radio, Mexican folk and mariachi music, big band standards in collaboration with arguably the greatest bug band music arranger, Nelson Riddle, on and on.
had this tune in my head for like ever and been listening to her version and not one of the best female vocalists but one of the best vocalists ever and this girl has pipes we love you linda.
I just love her voice , awesome vocals. Never get tired listening to her singing .
No fancy costume changes, just Linda and her awesome group of musicians.❤️🎶
@Hello there, how are you doing this blessed day?
One of the best female vocalists ever !
What a God-given Voice!
I am 73 and this is my all time favorite song. It was originally sang by Doris Troy and I heard this around 14 years old. Ronstadt really captured the soul in this song...harmonies were beautiful too.
Yep, Doris Troy’s version kicked butt pretty well too, didn’t it?
mine is " Blue Bayou followed by "Just one look" by Doris troy but Linda does it like no one else, besides Doris. Linda's " different drum is absolute candy to the ear !
doris troy wrote and sang this song. she would be proud of this rendition.
@Denis Lessard yes she would. Linda Ronstadt was a natural and amazing singer. She didn't need dancers, fireworks going off behind her....she could just stand there with a microphone and sing and "bring the house down"!
Doris OWNS this one as far as I am concerned !!!!! Linda does make me all warm & fuzzy though......good for you,Charlotte !!!!
..
Da man had the jive goin on with that keyboard. Makes me happy each time I hear it! Her voice was so pure. She could honestly sing.
Those back up singers were absolutely wonderful!
simply the best.
I love every single second of this.
You either love her or don't know who she is. I unconditional love her. Simply had the best pipes ever and so beautiful to boot!
One of the great all-time voices. Country, rock classics, Gilbert & Sullivan she could do it all.
Yes, so talented and brave to try other genres. Driven. Artistic.
@@chriswalters6148 Yes, she was a singer to her core. She was gorgeous too but that was not the point of her. She knew a song, a fine song and she went with it.. That was what drove her and, because her voice could do anything, it took her into all those genres she explored. She is absolutely my heroine.
I agree...not sure anyone else in the 20th or 21st C could handle vocally what Linda Ronstadt handled....
@@chriswalters6148 her voice is angelic
Let's not forget the Great American Songbook. Ronstadt did three albums of standards; two of them were big hits. Canciones de Mi Padre, a mariachi album, was a hit as well, showing that she could take her fans on various musical trips.
She’s so awesome. Plus the band is killer.
The voice that launched the first female superstar and making her The queen of rock.
Best female singer of all time , bar none.
Beautiful Lady
ahhhh, that would be Judith Durham, just ask Sir Paul, Sir Tom, Sir Elton.
Beyond words. Just so effortless, performed by a genuinely talented lady.
Linda, of the several shows I caught of you back in the day, my favorite had to be in New Orleans at The Saenger Theater. You threw that beautiful, pitch perfect, powerful voice to the back of the venue as if it was nothing. Desperado brought the house down. Willie Nelson was right when he said, “there are two types of men in the world. Those that love Linda, and the rest who haven’t heard or seen her yet.” He was so right. 😉
This is classic Linda Rondstadt at her best. You can not forget a song like this.
Linda is a national treasure!! She inspired me to sing the standards. I am forever grateful to her for having such a positive impact on my life.
and shes half MEXICAN yes baby. we got soul.
Love this and all other LINDA RONSTADT songs! Bless you, lovely Lady!
Outstanding backup
Wow, Linda could sing any song and make it her own. So very good!
Absolutely love Linda, she always had such incredible voice, so sad she can’t sing anymore. She’s the best 🎵🎼🎶🌹
Hello Brenda
How are you doing today?
I agree with Brenda, I love Linda too. One of the best voices in music history.
Yes it is a Shame..
Back when "music" was MUSIC.
I always say that. 😉
Give Linda a band, a mic and a pair of blue jeans and she could shade anybody singing today regardless of their auto tuned performances.
Indeed.
Seriously tho! That voice!
And she’s not even wearing blue jeans!
Such a natural pure voice. I’m so happy I found her and she’s in my life for ever.
Hello Colleen
How are you doing today?
the ONE, the ONLY, Linda Ronstadt, sit back, listen & be amazed by her singing...
RIP... Kenny Edwards...He always looked like he was having a good time but who wouldn’t have a good time playing in Linda Ronstadt’s band
Amazing voice! Can listen to her sing all day and night!!
She was so beautiful, And she had the most beautiful voice too. 💯💯💯💯🙏🙏
Still beautiful and maybe she can't sing but I bet her voice is as beautiful as ever
It’s her voice! The outfits! The soul!
That voice owns you from the very beginning.
Smooth as silk when needed, powerful as hell too. Very few are better. In love with this woman for a LONG time :)
She was the artist most often in my tape deck. I think I drove from El Paso TX to Los Angeles with Rondstadt on the whole way. One of my army buddies asked me if that was all I listened to? I said what else is there?
No one quite like her. She sang as herself - honest, clear, powerful and sometimes so deeply heartbreaking. Here just full on joy. Gorgeous pipes, Gorgeous gal.
Man was this woman talented. Her and Karen Carpenter are my two favorite female voices of all time. The way she hammers out the chorus on Blue Bayou is still beyond my comprehension.
Thanks for your love and support. Have you ever been to my concert?
Da BEST

I just love her. The best pipes ever! Can sing anything! She gives me the chills when she sings!
OHHH!!
aand, then some.
Absolutely ❤️🔥
In grade school in the 70s, Linda was everything a young boy dreamed a hot woman could be, but that voice was so unique that you knew there was only one. When Linda hits those gravely notes, that's real, no trash autotune there! Along with other classic rock artists, Linda's voice became part of the ethos of our generation. When its a nice day, I'm at the beach and this comes on, I go back to that beautiful time that I am so lucky to have come of age in.
Linda, the back up singers ,the band and Bill Payne provided an outstanding performance
BEST American Singer - Full Stop❤
Great performance by Linda, like usual. The band was also very good.
Can't get enough of that voice, so special.
pure perfection and a angel to boot thank the universe for giving us this talent and class.
I went to the same High School she graduated from. Palo Verde HS in Tucson, Az. Even 20 years later, that's all they talked about. I think you see why, there never been a voice or musical talent like it. She's phenomenal.
My Mother loved Linda Ronstadt, I grew up listening to her. *RIP* Mom, I finally understand why now. Linda was such a strong great singer.
My Prays for Linda one of the best woman american singer
An epic song from this legendary singer. Such passion
Passion is the word
One of the best voices ever, she always amazes me no matter how many times I listen to her ☺️
Just One Listen as well. Always great to watch as well as hear Linda singing. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I am 60 now!! This is Y I reminis....
Lonesome Dan Dugmore, off to the side, doing it perfect as usual.
Maybe the most I ever saw him move on stage
I have never appreciated just what a powerful and expressive voice Linda Ronstadt has …..until watch her live song on UA-cam. Awesome 🤩
Her voice is angelic
Hi Andrew, How you doing?
Watch her singing Desperado in Atlanta. No one hits those notes. No one.
❤
Oh how I miss that voice! I grew up singing along with her records. She can sing anything!! Linda, would love to meet you. There's more to us than our voices.
Luv how she struts to the microphone and just knocks out the vocals. Clear, open, for real. You can see why the boys loved her.
When you are sooooooo good you can naturally strut with pride. Shares her first love with the world!
Linda...sigh
❤Linda you're still the greatest 🎉🎉🎉
the power the passion & the performance the beautiful & talented Linda Ronstadt has no equal in this world or the next
