Hey same age. This song and Devil Women remind me of getting ready for school and my older sister hogging up bathroom and playing 70s and 80s music we had on a lil clock radio 😊
As I said in another comment here, it’s really amazing how a truly beautiful song brings people together, sharing similar thoughts and experiences. People who are completely strangers acting like being family.. I only wish these examples of magical connection could somehow guide people who are behind war decisions… God bless you all.

This song makes me think of my mother. An angel of a woman who has had many problems with addiction, abuse and struggle, yet she was always there for me and put raising me above all else.
I can relate to this so much..😔 But My momma eventually got clean for 6-7 years until she unexpectedly passed away from a brain aneurysm at work at only 41 years old, I was only 18😓 Ever since that day life has been extremely dark, numb, empty, and I don’t know if that feeling will ever go away.
Sometimes we watches our mother do crazy things ,the beauty about them they are always there for US,,, nothing to compare,, thanks for remembering your maman

Dementia is an illness that steals your memory. I was the one in the family that went to the home to see Mom once a week for the last three years of her 11 year struggle with dementia. For the last year I could only stay for 10 minutes, it was so heart breaking. When they would say, your son is here to see you, she would look past me at the door. Since I watched Promising Young Woman two months ago this song is in repeat in my head. I need to listen to it every day, it gives me strength and makes me feel something very deep. Makes me think about the meaning of life and that we all can do something good with it. Very special movie, for me, the best of all the times. @@revacohen "Angel of the Morning" was originally offered to Connie Francis, but she turned it down because she thought that the love affair lyrical message was too risqué for her image. Connie Francis’ team initially passed “Angel” over because they thought the affair angle of the lyrics was too risqué, but the tune became a hit for Billie Davis in 1967 and then again the next year for Merrilee Rush, whose version is one of the best-known, alongside Newton’s. As ’80s pop country singer Juice Newton sings about an illicit love affair she just can’t shake in her 1981 hit “Angel of the Morning".
I think it's about an ongoing affair, the way she says "Baby" and "Darling" -- you don't do that with a one-night stand. The lyrics are so beautiful in that they are somewhat abstract.
I'm not here because of a movie. I'm here because I've loved this since hearing it as a child. No auto tune needed, she has real talent. How many of us want this kinda music back
To the person that reads this, I ask the Lord to bless them and their family, to cure them of every sickness and pain, to fill their emptiness with love joy and peace, to rebuke the enemy from their lives. " ASK JESUS TO COME INTO YOUR HEART AND SAVE YOU, AND TO FORGIVE YOU OF YOUR SINS, FOR WE GIVE THANKS AND GLORY TO THE LORD. IN THE MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS CHRIST AMEN!
My late husband would sing this song to me. Will be 8 years this weekend that he passed. Hurts just as much now as it did then. Flying high my David. Love you to the moon and back for eternity
This song tears me up inside every time I hear it. My wife was my angel of my morning. Now she is gone . She passed 8 days before Christmas 2020. I miss you viv. I had 23 blessed years with her
Lost mine in '95. Only 7 years, but you never forget. The next unit I found my self with used to sing parodies of this like it was funny. Suffice to say it did not last. If you call her your angel of the morning and she makes a rude joke out if it, you are with the wrong person.
I lost my angel, Susan in 1983. We were only together for two years and I thought I would never get over losing her. I might have gotten used to her not being around, but I never did totally get over it. I guess none of us truly ever do. Life goes on. I’m not a very religious man, but I do hope to meet her again.
you look gorgeous and you smile is so beautiful please always wear that smile your face 😊😊 I have heard many versions of this classic song. IMHO this is the best of them all. Listen and be awed by a truly great vocal artist at work.
Will always remind me of my dad. We would sit together in the livingroom at night with lightfoit cranked. No words needed to be spoken. Eyes closed, soul taken to another dimension. Some of my favorite memories with my pa. He is now deep into hus dementia, being held captive by my awful brother. It's so sad. I'll ALWAYS close my eyes n meet my dad when this song is on!
I don’t think I ever left that moment in my life where this song made it into me. I swear I am right back in my older sister’s room while she’s at work - her new stereo system all to myself! God, I wish I could go back to that time. I must’ve been 12 or so. ❤️❤️❤️
Apparently the song was written in 1968: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angel_of_the_Morning this is the version i have always known and loved: ua-cam.com/video/3fqeeBCtQhA/v-deo.html (Merrilee Rush & The Turnabouts)

I introduced my mom to Juice Newton with this song Long story. You would have to know her. She's tough, but she cried, I cried later. I'm going to hell, I guess Back then, in " the day, " I think it was Merilee Rush. OK ... Mom ...

Thank you so much for this comment. I rushed to watch the movie and OH MY GOSH, amazing. Made me mad with the ending but then made up for it with the weeding scene.
Couldn't agree with you more. I didn't like this song until Promising woman. I have heard every versions from different artist but they don't cut the muster. Juice delivery of the song is perfect!
When I was a high-school sophomore when this came out, I considered this song second-rate material. The older I've gotten, I've come to appreciate songs and artists like this and her. I think Juice did this song better justice than did Meerilee Rush.
I lost my mom in January of 2022. She used to love this song. Now I’m awake at 2 am and I was given this small blessing. I miss you and thank You Momma. Cindy Noon April 24,1959- January 5,2022.✨♥️
This song was written in 1967 by Chip Taylor. Two female singers recorded it before it drew wide acclaim as a hit and made famous by Merrilee Rush in 1968. It was then sung and recorded by other female artists, none of which drew much attention until Juice Newton, the last to record it, made it famous again and sold more copies than all the others. But, I like Merrilee Rush's version recorded in 1968 the best. -- If you're interested, this is Merillee Rush's version recorded in 1968: ua-cam.com/video/24rYz9QAvdQ/v-deo.html

Dear Alexander Reyes, August 7th is my oldest sisters birthday and I have too tell the truth. She's so much older than me... I don't know how old she is and this does make me sad. There's a voice of the 80's that stands out to me & he probably could have been a bigger star than he was but do to addiction problems he was sidetracked. That person is EL Debarge. He's back doing shows but here's a couple of his songs you may remember him by. Songs (All This Love) & ( Love me in a Special Way) Enjoy & tell me what you think?👍
This is such a heart-felt song. When my wife and I first started dating, I told her that I like to call my girl by a term of endearment, like "sweetheart", "baby", etc. When I said "Angel", she said "Yes, that's what I want you to call me". And I did. Up until the day she died of breast cancer at the age of 28. I watched her take her last breath and held her hand as I cried now knowing that she joined the Angels in Heaven, waiting for me to be with her again. I was out of the house when she started dying. I was running some errands but her mother and sister were with her. No one called me to let me know her life was ending. I got home just in time to see her take her last few breaths. I feel like she was holding on until I got to her bedside before letting go. My advice to everyone, whether it's your husband or wife, is to cherish your Angel every morning before it's too late.
@@mattfoley4425 I have always believed what my mum told me when i was little, each star you see in the sky at night is a soul of someone loved and missed by one of us left behind, each star looks down at their loved one and protects them and watches over them, just pick a star that's all you need to do to connect with your departed loved ones.
This version by Juice Newton was released in 1981 ( so yes, you are right there, ) but The song was composed in 1967 by Chip Taylor, who said of it: "I wrote 'Angel of the Morning' after hearing The Rolling Stones song 'Ruby Tuesday' on the car radio when I was driving into New York City. - Just a bit of background. It's sad? It's about adultery

@@chiselmarr1414 It's about a one-night stand. She's feeling the guilt before it even happens.
As a child my mom used say this was my song..I miss you so much mom.Angela

I miss the old days
I'm not here because of a movie.
I'm here because I've loved this since hearing it as a child.
No auto tune needed, she has real talent.
How many of us want this kinda music back
Your so right
Angeline Ynez, yeah, me too. It is quite lovely
Yea I’m not here cuz a movie too, it was leafy 😂
It's not remotely a happy song Angeline. Quite controversial when he came out.
I didn’t even know it was in a movie
The best version of Angel in the Morning by Juice Newton ❤️❤️❤️
Just finished watching Promising Young Woman. This song will never sound the same to me again.
That's exactly what I said....
Just watched it tonight. One of the best films I've seen in a long time. This song was perfect.

Woww.. I don't think my generation even knows the beauty of this song. Just pure magic✨
My late husband would sing this song to me. Will be 8 years this weekend that he passed. Hurts just as much now as it did then. Flying high my David. Love you to the moon and back for eternity

We share the pain with our tears
My daughter is angel and she is my angel of the morning
This song tears me up inside every time I hear it. My wife was my angel of my morning. Now she is gone . She passed 8 days before Christmas 2020. I miss you viv. I had 23 blessed years with her
So sad to hear this. Hope you are well.
Stay strong bro, memories are everything, take care
Lost mine in '95. Only 7 years, but you never forget. The next unit I found my self with used to sing parodies of this like it was funny. Suffice to say it did not last. If you call her your angel of the morning and she makes a rude joke out if it, you are with the wrong person.
Chuck I am so sorry for your loss, be strong, life is passing by... With so many memories.
Don't give up! 🤗👍
I lost my angel, Susan in 1983. We were only together for two years and I thought I would never get over losing her. I might have gotten used to her not being around, but I never did totally get over it. I guess none of us truly ever do. Life goes on. I’m not a very religious man, but I do hope to meet her again.
My 44 year old self is rocking out to this in my car.....still love this song! She was so talented and under rated.
you look gorgeous and you smile is so beautiful please always wear that smile your face 😊😊

AGREE, although I fail to see how that is relevant to this song as it was released in 2002.

Juice Newton had a few big hits back then,, people should also check out her songs:" break it to me gently", and "the sweetest thing ", and "queen of hearts " -she could really sing!

Originally by Mary Magreggor
I'm deeply moved by your words.

This song was done first in 1968 and sounds super similar to this version. Although the Juice version in 81 is better. imo
What era? This version is from the early 80s, the original song sung by Evie Sands is from the 1968 movement.
