yo!!!! it seems like i need to make a video on how to get this goin!! ill make that video tomorrow!!! it should be up by the end of the day (colorado time)
Great video!! Just purchased the modern fusion drums. Have a question does the panning transfer to the same after routing, or do you have to manually pan drums yourself in studio one ?
Alos, right around 4:02 where you are showing the Kontakt outputs. In my DAW the Kick channel is grey and wont let me unclick it i dont know if you understand me I really need help with this routing thing.
That's a great video. Thanks for all the info. I have a question though. I'm sort of migrating from Logic to Studio One and in Logic, you can bounce a multi-output MIDI to audio and you'll get multi-output audio. I yet couldn't find how to do that in ST1. Can you explain that, please? Thanks a lot!
Hey, thanks for a great video! Have a question though, is there any way to remove this when it's not needed or if there's any way to save this route to this specific drumkit since I also have another ggd drumkit and it wasn't working just to switch between the kits, parts of the new set that I imported was muted and even though I was trying to switch inputs and what not it doesn't seem work and I'd like to make a new route like this from scratch for my other kit as well. I've tried to remove all these faders in ggd but still there's some new ones showing up for some reason and in the "mix-area" in studio one the old "kick, snare" etc stil shows up under Kontakt and I dont't seem to get this to be removed. Hope it made any sense at all, cheers!
Hey dude great video. So I managed to do all the steps but now I notice that my kick channel in the mixer has bleed from the snare and hats. All the other channels sound okay but the kick channel is the only one with the bleed. Can you help me out with this?
Great Vid man! -- Could you make a video on mapping the drums so that its easier to program? Can't find anything online on mapping any GGDs in studio one.
Easy to follow, thanks! Question though. I am able to mouse click my GGDrums, and hear it, but when recording drums, nothing gets recorded. I've armed the track, the time line turns green, but no drums are getting recorded... any thoughts on this would be great! Thanks!
Thanks for this! I was able to get it all routed correctly, but the drop-down box under "Instruments" doesn't automatically label like yours seems to - mine stays on "Out 1-2", "Out 3-4" etc
When I route my drums it also is routing what was at default too. For example my kick drum goes to the kick channel, but it also going other channels that were set by default. Is there a way to fix this?
Hey my friend, thanks for checking out the video. Im having a little bit of a hard time understanding what you mean. If you want to send me a message to my Instagram @Chris.Bedan , Id be more than happy to help ya out! =D
Hey man! sorry for the delay. honestly ive been thinking about how to achieve this.. my first idea is to listen to a set of multitracks of the OH and ROOM sound i like and matching the volumes.
Can you please tell me am I supposed to bounce each individual track to an audio track for final mix and if so how it's done. Or do you final mix within the Kontakt player? Because when I'm playing them still in Kontakt I get a TON of CPU spikes. Thank you
Hey dude! So I just found out about this myself. This is what you'll do (if you're in Studio One): Once your song is fully complete (or at least the drums) and you are ready to print to audio... 1. Right click on the Instrument on the MAIN GRID in Studio One (not the MIDI sections, but the Instrument track. 2. Select "Transform to Audio Track" 2a. Read through the options and select what works for you. I usually tick all the boxes and give about a 10 sec on auto tail to account for drum/cymbal ring out, however you could also extend the MIDI out past the end of the last note to achieve the exact timing rather than rely on Studio One. 2b. One thing I forgot to note - "Preserve the Instrument Track Slate" allows you to go back to the original MIDI if you end up realizing you messed up or if you need to basically go back and add stuff in. Then you can just re-print again. Should be that simple. Hope that helps!
Can’t wait to try this in studio one! And in Ableton! I never see a lot of people talk about this and it’s super helpful to understand what and how things are routed! Definitely streamlined workflow. Great vid! Also out of all of the kits GGD has released which one is your favorite? How does this one stack up against the last few?
Yeah man!! It’s good to be able to know this! Mixing your drums this way sounds WAY better than keeping them all on one stereo track! Also, this kit sounds soooo good!! The articulations and samples in my opinion sound the best on this pack! When adjusting the velocity curve to taste, you really get to see how it shines!
I keep running into an issue with my routing of modern and Massive. When I try to match my naming to each drum, only the kick will play. I have to set the names of each drum to kick just to hear it. I'm not sure exactly what's going on.
Hello, i routed everything and when i upload a midi grove into studio one not every part of the drums are hearable but when i play the grove player through contact it works? how do i get the drap and drop of midi file groves to work on studio one?
@@chrisbedan well its seems to be working now i can get the file dropped into studio one but now i cant hear the kick drum or snare when i play the midi drag drop file in studio one lol .. it will play inside the KontaKt player fine and i can see the reads on studio one fine, but when it comes to play the same midi file on studio one it mutes the kick and snare lol its so weird.. if you have any input id highly appreciate it i also have cubase if thats easier to work with lol
Thanks for the tips! I’m trying to import my midi over from sd3 after convert the exported sd3 midi file to ggd. but can’t figure it out. I’m trying to drag and drop in studio one midi editor. Any help would be great! Also, what are using for an editor? Because the one on studio looks useless compared to sd3.
Hey man, so depending if you mapped GGD just like SD3 you might have to move some midi to the correct instrument. So I personally use Ableton Live. But the “new” drum midi editor in studio one is pretty beast!
@@chrisbedan thanks for the response! I had to restart studio one fir some reason. Got it working now. If you’ve ever used the sd3 editor you’d laugh at studio one’s editor 😂
Dude, I'm so frustrated, I have followed EVERY STEP and every time as soon as I open a new kontact it saved my naming convention but it's all coming through only one channel again
lifesaver, i still come back to this all the time whenever i start over my go-to template
Dude thank you so much for the information. This is super clutch breakdown of not just what to do, but the “why” behind it.
Life Save Time Saver!
A Million Thanks!
Dude!! Awesome video helped me so much best video on this out there!!
I’ve been looking for this , thanks!!!
Chris, How do I move a groove sample from ggd (Modern&Massive) in to studio one, and make edits to it?

2021. We can put people on the moon but we can’t get an easy way to route in Kontakt. Come on Native! Get it done.

Thanks alot! This is gunna make editing drums so much easier!
Great video!! been looking for a well made video like this for a long time, thank you so much
doesd the routing save just specifically for modern fusion? what about other kits. like i have modern and massive and piv also
you are an absolute gem and a life saver! thanks for this.

How do I undo this. I tried it but now my snare is gone and I can't get it back. I need to set it back to default settings but can't figure out how
Hey dude, you should be able to just restart kontakt and it will go back to stereo
is there a way to get natural bleed like M&M?

I followed you, but when you said to close kontakt and then reopen it, everything I did with the routing is gone. I'm in Pro Tools.
amazing content, bro!!
