You're amazing. I've been working with Studio One for a short time, but have a track I really like and wanting to expand on. But this rendering/grouping audio has made it a billion times easier to add more tracks (w/VSTs) and help the writing process without my Macbook playing back a glitched out version of my song.
You need waaaaay more subs man. I’ve been battling horrible CPU clipping as I’m working on my EP, and it’s only the first song. Started to lose hope until I came across this, HUGE thanks man.
I have been using StudioOne for about two years, but I have been recording for decades. These are all great tips for people getting into recording using DAWs. It's a constant battle, especially if you are doing lead vocals, dubs, harmonies, reverb, compression, etc., on top of various guitars, which of course need Plugins, then of course you then drag in instrument midi tracks, Drum tracks, etc. The next thing you know, you are dealing with latency, cracks and pops all over the place. It's actually better to record DRY as much as possible, then add plugins and effects later. Your advice on creating FX buses is the best advice, because those type of things use up all your memory. You didn't mention it, but MIXDOWNs are also handy, but you have to be more committed. Great Job!

Something I found out yesterday, if you use an Audiobox, make sure you have an updated version of universal controller. That solved so many weird issues I was having, but mainly performance. I’m running 4 channels with STL amphub on and it’s been going fine.
Lifesaver, great tips thank you. As well you might also check the cache. (Preferences- advanced - audio - check mark "use cache for timestreched audio files," .)

Thank you so much for this. I’m always clipping and had no clue how to fix it- especially when my gain is in the negatives lol. This helped everything, thank you!!
eally good review of this plugin. I've been using this for a few days and so far I really like it. I have found it works best after I have mixed a song without it first as best as I can. At that point I bring in Abby Road 3 and cycle through the speaker options. This will make any imperfections in the mix stick out like a sore thumb, usually in the lower mids. Abby Road 3 can help take your mixes up a notch or two when you don't have state of the art equipment to work with.
Yeah that’s definitely a valid way of doing it! I personally prefer to use FX channels but it really would be nice if Studio One allowed you to send those to reverb channels. I generally don’t mind using a reverb directly on the fx channel because I don’t have that many different delays set up in a single session.
Great tips buddy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🎸🇬🇧 never realised I could break the individual kik snare hats etc back out into separated midi and then be able to convert to separate audio trax.
@@theindiemusiclab hi, can you do a video on how to use the pigments appergiator to appergiate a different vst inside Studio One. I only found videos on ableton but nothing on Studio One
@@ELLIOT8209 Hey thanks for the request. I actually don’t know what you’re referring to by “pigments arpeggiator.” Is that a feature in studio one? Or is it perhaps an exclusively Ableton feature?
Hi. I am a Studio One user and something really strange is just happening to me. I play the song that i am recordering and i cannot see anymore the recordered acoustic guitar tracks but i can still hear them playing. How do i fix it? has anyone ever experience something like this and has solid tips to give me??...Please...
It’s hard to know. I would say if other VST’s seem to be fine and it’s just the Native one that freezes up, that’s probably a sign that it’s a VST problem more than a CPU problem.
Was wondering for a long time about setting up one plugin for multiple track use but my only issue is that you couldn't control the individual settings on each track using one plugging. I never considered using automation to do that! You are a GOD!
Ok I can’t seem to find a solution to my issue. I am a singer so I only import tracks. But every since I updated to SPHERE I have crackling when I sing. I know it’s studio one because when I don’t have my DAW open my Vocals are clear and crisp in my headphones. SOMEONE please help me 😂😩. I’m going nuts trying to figure this out
Hmm that’s hard to tell. The only thing that comes to mind is the block size may be too low in your studio one settings. If that ain’t it, feel free to drop me an email: theindiemusiclab@gmail.com and I will try my best to help you troubleshoot where the problem may be coming from
Freeze selected FX but not remove it from the channel, if need do some changes just unfreeze the plug and then freeze again. thats will be amazing feature for Studio One.
@@TheDonBU2B Yeah we know this, but when all plugs need to be use, ex. like the drop they need to wake up. so the load in the cpu will be the same. Anyway is good to have the a napping function.
I've really been struggling with this lately, thank you soo much. Also, one question, say I have recorded 4 guitar tracks and have many plugins, can I render it like this?
Yes you can do it with as many tracks as you like :) And remember, you can always transform back to the original if you want to make some changes to the plugins.
Thank you so much. I wanted to know why one should transform instrument tracks to audio tracks, and this explains it clearly. I assume one would do the same for all Superior Drummer 3 drum tracks so that they’re all audio tracks instead?
You’re very welcome! And yep that’s exactly what I do with my individual tracks when I use Addictive Drums. It works beautifully... Here’s a pro tip btw in case you weren’t aware of this... if you record multiple parts on the same track in Superior Drummer (ex. kick + snare + hat) then if you right click on the midi file... there’s an option to “explode pitches to tracks” and that will put every individual element on a separate track which you can then transform those tracks to audio and that allows you to mix it like it’s a real drum kit instead of bouncing the full kit to audio. Hope that helps. Good luck!
@@theindiemusiclab I appreciate this! On a recent song, I was able to assign each track of SD3 to a channel for doing editing for volume and using buses and sends, however, at the top, I don't see a way of getting each track of the drums going across from left to right to show up or "explode"; there's only one drum track, although each drum shows up down below. Know how to make them all there?
Yeah I think I know what you’re talking about. You should still be able to “explode pitches to tracks” even if you’re sending the elements from Superior Drummer to separate channels in your mix window... have you tried right clicking on your drums midi files in your timeline and finding the “explode pitches to tracks” option? I think it’s in one of the subcategories when you right click on any midi file. Hope that answers your question :)
