When the "grunge" movement hit, we were exposed to artists our age who were sharing their exploration of pain, anger, addiction, heartbreak, remorse, and helplessness. It was so incredibly powerful and cathartic. Unfortunately, so many of those voices are gone now.
It truly was an amazing time to grow up and have voices we could relate to. Tge power of this era is unbelievably raw at uts core. My best friend and I were explaining this to my 10 ye old tge other day and he was wonderfully engaged in the discussion. Power is felt across generations.

A mother's love is unconditional. Romantic love is conditional, transactional & has a expiration date. We fool our selves, because we can't accept the ugly truth! So we betray our selves and believe in a beautiful lie!!
@andrelockridge9109 same can said for some father's. I sacrificed everything to get my daughter's back when their mom wasn't willing to fight for them. I would take a bullet for my daughters in most definitely give in my life for them. Romantic relationships have crushed me in the past. This song really strikes a chord with me.
A Man will sacrifice his happiness for his famiky! A woman will sacrifice her family for her happiness!! My beloved late mother gave me the best relationship advice when I was 18 or 19! Never trust women!! In many ways my late mother was a remarkable wome, she choice her son over the sisterhood! I will always be eternally great ful to her!!
(Realizing as I finish rambling that my laziness has painted me into a corner yet again. Long story short, I am male. My daughter took my phone made an I.D. in such a way that it now acts as Primary on UA-cam. Haven't set it straight yet) I'm in the same boat and can even take it a step further. Had a crush on a girl in school many years ago and could never place who she reminded me of. Several months after she had passed out of my personal sphere of interactions. I just casually crossed paths with the Pearl Jam video for the song "Alive", and realized out of the blue who Allison reminded of... "Oh hell, she looks like Eddie Vedder!" Had a little internal crisis moment in my resolutely heterosexual world, then shrugged and thought, "ok, he's a beautiful man" and moved on.
I lost my wife of 20 years last May from cancer. This song is where I am. I've heard it a million times, it's one of my favorites, I always really enjoyed it. Now it makes me cry.
From runner12: @LongplayCentral Thank you so much for reaching out and sharing. I’m so glad you are here! I’m so sorry for your loss. Losing a loved one is devastating and the grief can be overwhelming. Music can really touch us especially when our feelings are so raw. It can help us feel like we aren’t alone and it can open the floodgates. Being able to feel those emotions and then process them can help us heal. I know this song makes you sad now. Music can trigger emotions differently depending on our circumstances. I pray that as time goes on you are able to heal and get back to a point where the song makes you smile. It takes time but there is no right timeline for processes grief. Allow yourself to feel whatever the song brings up and allow the healing to happen. It’s not easy but you are not alone! We are here for you and you are loved! Stay strong!
From Konishi611: @LongplayCentral F Cancer. I'm sorry for your loss. I have seen several other people on here that have lost loved ones recently. Know that you are not alone - others are in the song with you. We are with you. Losing a partner is one of the most difficult things someone can experience. It is a very different genre, but Pain Remains 1, 2, and 3 by Lorna Shore are extremely emotional and powerful. It really gets into the grieving process and can be very intense. I've listened to all three songs dozens upon dozens of times and they make me cry, without fail, every single time. I still enjoy them. I hope Black continues to be one of your favorite songs and that you always enjoy it. Perhaps, in time, the song will become even more dear to you if it has not already.
Eddie, Chris, Kurt, and Layne. The voices of a generation. So sad that only Eddie is still with us. Feel lucky to have known them all through their music
MTV unplugged is the one gift MTV left the world. They gave so many iconic bands at the time this outlet, and it let to some of the most iconic live concerts. Thinking of what MTV have become, with all the nonsense they do know. Its important to remember that once upon a time they where the only place that gave a platform for these bands to do this, and for the young listeners to interact with it in that way. And the MTV Unplugged shows are legendary now, all because of what MTV used to be.
A 23 year marriage gone because someone wakes up one day and decides to just leave. This song came out when I was a teenager and it just rips my heart out now more than it did back then.
Sending you love. I can't imagine the pain and grief you are feeling in this moment. I'm grateful my words were able to provide a little bit of comfort. - T
@@HeartSupport Thank You, between that and a abusive childhood it helps me seeing these videos and also inspired me to ask for help after 40 years. Thank you.
Women marry a lifestyle as much as they marry the man! A woman's romantic love is based on what can PROVIDE for her! What you can DO for her! In the end we men are nothing more than a Walking ATM machine & walking Tool Belt!! No matter how much & how deep you love them. Women will always look to level up,hypergamy! Romantic love is a fraud,it's conditional & tranactional!! Better to accept the Ugly truth than to believe in a beautiful Lie!!
This song is not nearly as soul crushing to Eddie... as it is to whatever girl dumped him as a young struggling musician... and then had to watch as he became rich and famous. And not just 15 minutes of fame, but the kind of musician that made it last a lifetime.
This is probably the best live performance of any song by any band. Just my opinion but I’ve loved it since it came on the first time on MTV. All of the “grunge” band MTV Unplugged are legendary
The voice is easy if you own the words. Lived that time and we all believed we could change the world through the lyrics. And the lyrics were Eddies, Stones etc story. Same as Chris, Layne, Kurt. Just happened everyone else connected with their stories. Great time to be alive and a music period that will never be repeated.
@@shanefaulkner4071 I remember driving in my first truck and hearing a new song on the radio (Soundgarden, I think, around 1994) and thinking how freaking fantastic EVERY new song that played on the radio was. They were all instantly great, it really was magic. Man, I miss that time in music.
I know someday you'll have a beautiful life I know you'll be a star in somebody else's sky But why, why, why can't it be Oh, can't it be mine?…. This line heartbreak me everytime…..
I’m 54 and from a generation where you just dealt with it. No matter the hurt and pains in life, deal with it alone. This song was the 1st song that somehow made me break down and cry, get mad and clear my head. It still does make me tear up. Incredibly sad and beautiful song.
@@timwiseman158 I’m 55 and my ex husband left me for another woman back in 2015. He helped raise my youngest daughter and when he asked me for a divorce…it devastated us both. She said daddy please don’t do this to us please crying her eyes out. I will never forgive him for what he done. But my daughter and I are just fine now. This song makes me cry because I’ve been through the BLACK.
@kadathsmith to me it it without a doubt. My Christmas gift to my family is pearl jam concert in Atlanta I'm so happy I can tell my kids "when I was 13-14 y/o I was literally dressing up as Eddie Wedder. MJ 23 bulls jersey, 3/4 pants with many pockets, white sport socks and boots, with the checkers shirt wrapped around my waist. The only thing I've never had was long hair. This day and age teaching our kids many wrong things but I'm trying to have them feel this music so they can use it if they need it
This is not just a song. I do not have the space to describe what is going on. This is the most pure piece of art ever performed in the history of music.
This song lasts 5 minutes but it hurts for a lifetime. It is incredible how much pain Eddie Vedder describes when he wrote this wonderful song full of a lot of melancholy and nostalgia, remembering those wonderful years of Grunge in the early 90s. And to think that Eddie is the last Grunge legionnaire still alive.
"I know some day you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be the star in somebody elses sky." That verse is soul crushing and so relatable. Shakes me to the core.
Had no idea at 20, that my favorite song at the time, would find me almost 30 years later. Hundreds of plays, as I faced the pain and sadness head on, of my wife of 25 years, leaving our family 😢
This could’ve been my reaction. I’m 51 and I’m also grateful to have lived this. The first time I heard this I was 19. I now realize that this had a meaning for me that I didn’t realize at that time. This song has entered my soul at a young age .
I seen them in St Louis in 1998 he quit singing and the crowd not only took over they over powered the band! One of the most amazing things I have experienced! I'm grateful we were one for a moment in time!
Chris Cornell, Scott Weiland, Kurt Cobain, Chester Bennington and Layne Stanley were the epitome of singers who could touch the deep emotions that many people had...I'm so glad we still have some of the singers like Eddie Veder and Dave Grohl who were able to navigate that scene and stay with us.
@@RickGrazianothose bands will never be the same w/o their original frontmen, somehow AC/DC was spared from it, eventhough it happened to them, they made great music both with Bon Scott & Brian Johnson.
Coming up on 10 years for me. And, I even called her my sun goddess, "Diosa Sol." She married last year and I really had to give up on her. I try to move on, but I still dream of her; it still haunts me. I know it's not her, but still... This video helped.
I'm at 22 years now. How much I thought we had finally found ourselves in an orbit that would last, and how incredible was the feeling of how well we fit together. The touchs we had were like being recharged...just incredible energy. After we ended, she still came over for years, and I hurt myself by providing the emotional support she needed. But for reasons having to do with family, we ended. I left the town, the state and moved hours away. I still saw her a couple of times, then the occasional message. I finally ended communicating with her 3 years ago, I told her that I couldn't be a friend, I couldn't talk to her, I couldn't be part of her life if she couldn't be the part of mine that I needed from her. I still mourn that love, and despite having relationships since, that feeling of her and I haunts me. I hope you all find peace in your life. I'm still searching for mine.
This damn video has made me immediately burst into over and over🤦🏼♂️. And yet, I keep coming back to it because so fucking real and exemplifies what it means to be human. ❤️
this performance with his improvised "we belong together" really punches me in the gut. every time I can imagine that pain, I've been there, I've felt that. Eddie was amazing for so many things but this is my all time favorite performance of his.
Him going through something like this makes this performance even better. Nothing makes a song great like the artist putting his emotions on his sleeve.
@JontyBlue67 we are having new years karaoke party, I wanted to sing this but I know I'll cry I know every sound he makes in the unplugged version and I can copy it, no matter I'm horrible singer, everyone will see the emotions
I was 14 when Ten came out. I bought it because I liked them. Every album after that I bought because girls liked them. Except for Yeild. That was all me.
I know someday you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be a star In somebody else's sky, but why, why Why can't it be, oh, can't it be mine? Best lyrics in history
Alive, Black and Porch (all from this album) were the cornerstone of my guitar practice routine for many years. I could tell when I got to Black how "tapped in" I was, because when I was locked in, playing the solo would completely break me down to sobbing tears. Such an incredible melody and amazing lyrics. The way the piano and guitars work with his voice on the studio version is sublime. This live version has a beautiful energy all it's own. Powerful magic indeed.
The number of times in my life that Eddie's lyrics and vocals have stood as a proxy for my own human experience are literally incalculable. The degree to which he opened up and shared his own pains and joys as art is unimaginable, but I am forever grateful.
Just finished my divorce out of a 20 year marriage, this song played almost daily for the 1st year and a half! Powerful performance, music these days no longer makes you feel this way!
I was 22 yrs old when this song came out. I was just going through breaking up with the first and one true love of my life. All these years later I still mourn that loss.
I so freaking love your commentary of all your videos… This one is especially great… I love how you nailed the “tattooed everything” lyric Thank you and keep up the great work
I was 17 when Pearl Jam released Black. This song has followed me through so many heartbreakes. I've belted it heartbroken and drunk of my ass at karaoke way too many times.
This song, this album, Pearl Jam (among other bands) got me through the hyper-emotional pain of my teenage years. My dad once made me stop listening to this for a week or two because, "You need to listen to something that's less grey and painful for a while." But the grey and the pain in the music was what let me release the grey and the pain from my head.
Two years before Pearl Jam, The Cure's Disintegration album did the same for me. And then hearing Black I was on the other side of it and felt it again in reflection.
This my favourite band. In 2022 I was diagnosed with cancer as the love of my life was dumping me. Some months later I was talking about it with my therapist, and when I left her office I took a cab and this song came on the radio and affected me worse than it ever had in 30 years. I tried not to have a breakdown in public. I'm cancer free now, but still empty inside from that horrible year. Thanks for this video, you got youself a new subscriber.
From runner12: @cropdustcaptain3059 Thank you for sharing your story! We are so grateful for you. I’m so sorry you had to deal with two heartbreaking situations at the same time. Getting a scary diagnosis is overwhelming and then losing someone we love can make our world feel like it’s spinning out of control. I’m so happy to hear that you are cancer free! You are obviously a fighter and so strong! Remind yourself of that when the pain of your breakup hits you. Having an emotional reaction to a song can be overwhelming. The music or lyrics hit us right where we’re most vulnerable and unleashes feelings that are extremely powerful. We need to feel those feelings in order to heal. It takes time for the emptiness to go away but there is always hope! You’ve been through so much so be kind to yourself and give yourself grace. You’ve been through a war, but you survived it and came out stronger. I’m praying for strength as you continue to heal. You are loved and we are here to support you!
The line where he says "...so why do I sear?", is a double entendre. "So why do I see her?". It makes more sense when you realize he's talking about being around children--which is a schematic double entendre. Not only does he resent their ignorant happiness (one he no longer has), but it's a reminder of the future--and family--that he'll never have with her.
I disagree with the See her part. I think he meant how it angers him, searing in pain about the possibility of the future of having a family with this certain person. She was the love of his life back then and killed him when she cheated on him and let him for another man. He went to a dark place, and I am so happy he found his real true love and their wonderful children he adores. Eddie is truly one of a kind person and singer
I love watching your reactions. It makes me feel like I’ve never listened to these songs before. I cry all over again, with you. When you speak, you speak with eviction, passion and emotion. You truly make me feel like you’re actually my therapist. I’m sure I’m not alone in that feeling. Keep doing this. This is good for people. I hope doing this gives you as much as you’re giving us. Thank you.
Not only has Pearl Jam always been the most socially involved and politically outspoken group from the big Seattle bands: they have always had a special kind of sensibility in their music, from day one. Their songs touch themes related to mental health, family issues and social awareness, and a lot of those songs have a woman as the main protagonist or depict the perspective of a woman (see "Daughter", "Why go", or the live versions of "Fatal"). "Better man", "Inside job", "Comes then goes", "Light years", "Other side" , "I got shit", "Off he goes", "Save you", "I am mine", "Something special"... too many to name, their whole discography is amazing in this sense. To me they embody how healthy masculinity looks and sounds like. I absolutely love them.
That pause you had at the end. yup. that's it right there. eddie vedder is one of the rawest songwriters and singers. he added "we belong together", which is not on the album/recorded version. it tears me to shreds. this song is the epitome of what it is to experience the throws of heartbreak. I used to listen to this song every time I experienced losing someone I love, which actually did include someone I had feelings for dying. In that instance, the song really took me to a place to fully grieve, acknowledge my feelings, and eventually I could try to move from the depths of that dark place.
You are so sweet and thoughtful. I loved this video. I'm 47, been a Pearl Jam fan since 1991. I've had these reactions to their music since the beginning, it's lovely to see newer fans are too. All the love. Thank you.
pearl jam is my dad’s favorite band so i’ve heard this song a lot throughout my life but really now im really gravitating toward it, it’s so haunting it really captures the feeling of loss.
Nothing renders the pain and heartache of losing the person that you love better than this song. I listened to it on repeat after my second wife passed, even when it didn't quite fit perfectly to the situation. Eddie and Pearl Jam literally saved my breathe with this song.
I agree completely, that lyrical section is one of the most gut punching parts in all of music for me. Even after being married having children and having a relatively wonderful life, that feeling has never gone away and I doubt it ever will. I wish no one would ever have to experience it.
Two thoughts I'm having right now. Out of all the major grunge singers, Eddie Vedder was not the one I thought would be the last man standing. He always seemed so frail, I was sure he wouldn't last. Second one, I owe Eddie everything. When I was 16 I went to see Pearl Jam on my own. When the audience moved forward,I got trampled. I was lying on the floor and people were standing on top of me. Eddie saw it and started telling people to get me up. They did and I was crowdsurfed to security. I just had a lot of scrapes and bruises. It could have been so much worse and I will be forever thankful to Eddie that it didn't.
This song has saved me through dark times in my life especially losing the love of my life but He may have literally saved your life. That's an incredible story. Obviously I don't know him but I have never heard one bad word about Eddie Vedder. He seems like a rare celebrity that didn't allow fame and fortune to get to his head and he's always seemed genuine especially when performing.
What?!?! If anything everyone knew he’d be the one to last since he wasn’t the huge party type and wasn’t a drug addict. Some pot before shows sometimes and a little alcohol but that’s it.
@DongCornelius I didn't say I thought he was going to party too hard or overdose. There are other ways to die. I always thought he'd take his own life someday, he seemed so frail, mentally.
One interesting thing about this song: many years later (in the early 2010's, don't remember exactly the year now), Eddie said in an interview that this song was about... letting go. It aligns A LOT with what you said in the end. You totally nailed it. And in my opinion, expressing those feelings somehow, through music or any other mean, can indeed help you to let go of them.
I was a teenager when this came out, and yes...we all were crushing on Eddie Vedder. On a personal note about 10 years ago my eldest daughter ran away from home. And this song helped me express my heartbreak about it. The last verse just (as you said) was so relatable that it just pierced my soul.
This is always been my favorite Pearl Jam song because I can relate to it so much. It's like I could have written the words myself from my own life experiences and breakups.
"I know you'll be a star in somebody else's sky" still makes me tear up and I've listened to this song thousands of times. One of the greatest songs ever written.
I’m so thankful for having been able to grow up in the time of Pearl Jam. They were the first band I fell in love with at the age of 15 and they’re still my favorite band 31 years later. Eddie was a great influence on me and probably millions of other teenage boys like me. He made it normal to show emotion. Eddie was the first one in my life to talk about politics and women’s rights. What made it even cooler was the fact that PJ lived about 30 minutes down the road from me. It was such an exciting time.
Just started listening to you (comments on alice in chains too) and your analysis makes things clearer for the emotions I already feel in their songs. That's why music is so powerful.
I was born in ‘76, grew up in an abusive household and don’t know what I’d do without this music, it impacts me to this day. My wife had my best friends kid, I attempted to take my own life but was found and so here I am trying to get beyond it. I’ve been diagnosed with Borderline Personality disorder, complex PTSD and major depression. I’m taking medication and see a therapist twice a week. I wish I had this help 20 years ago when I still could’ve salvaged my life, now I’m just an old man, old and alone…
hey man just know that its ok. I am sorry to hear about everything you've gone and are going through but i can assure you that you are loved and just because you feel lonely doesnt mean your alone. Also 47 is very far from old brother! you have plenty of live to live so go live it without regrets and with love and you will get that happy life we all dream about you just got to keep moving forward. love you bro and God wouldnt allow these things to happen to you if he knew you werent strong enough to endure it. take care brother hope things turn around
You got a dealt a shitty hand. But it’s not your fault. And the good news is there an entire world out there to discover. It’s never too late. Find a new joy and run with it, travel, meet new people every week. Happiness comes from within, and helping others. Rest of your life starts today.
From TenaciousGrace: @sputnikalgrim I am so sorry for all the pain and heartache you have been through in your life. That's so tough being the collateral damage of others' chaos. I am so so glad you are still with us today! I have been dealt some cruddy cards as well in life. One of my favorite phrases I saw online was "Broken crayons still color!" I remind myself of that a lot on the darker days. Every day is a new day to spread your colors for others that may be straggling as well. You seem like such a warm person and the world could use far more of that.
... I bet she thinks of you everyday and wonders wht it would have been wht it could have been w/regret and regret in my opinion is the most horrible feeling one can have i hate regret she hates it too i promise...
Seen a lot of reaction vids to this song cus it's one of my faves but I've never seen anyone who actually vibes and moves to the song. Thanks for being authentic!
You heard this for the first time...and you have this reaction. Every time I hear this last part of the song, my eyes well-up... Most part of live, it is fun and joy.... But sometimes it is just hard... Song like this show that life can be dark, but when you dry your eyes, see that it is light as well. ❤
5:32 - I'm gonna keep pointing this out on all the reaction videos to this song, because the way Eddie sings "Cradle" is one of the best vocal tones in performance history.
Best reaction to this beautiful song I have ever heard. Having to let everything go black before you can start to feel again is the most amazing and relevant thing I have ever heard. Thank you!
I'm not posting this for help, I'm posting this as a warning NOT TO TURN INTO ME. I was 25, and I was insanely in love with my wife. We lived in Hawaii, made love frequently, never argued, and life was amazing. Then I went to Iraq for 15 months. In that time she cheated, broke my heart, gaslighted me into thinking I abandoned her, and ruined my military career due to the deep depression about losing my world that I fell into. For 15 months I went through hell. Saw friends and brothers die, was blown up several times by roadside bombs, and yet it didn't come close to the hell of her not being there when I returned home and everyone's loved ones rushed to their soldiers while I stood alone with no one there. She destroyed me in every way a man can be destroyed. She moved on, married, and had children. Meanwhile, other women have tried to love me but I can't find it in me to trust or be loved again because I was ruined. Every woman since has told me "they can only get to a certain point with me" and I don't let them get any closer. I'm now 43, and even 18 years later the pain remains. I tried counseling but nothing seems to help. My life is work, going to the gym, and coming home and hanging out with the pets. Unless you want a life where you just wait for death and for the pain to go away, DO NOT BECOME ME!
If this is real…trust yourself to be able to handle if heartbreak happens again because what if life is just a play and when we die we wake up. You only get to be you once even if your soul never dies and you get to do it again.
It takes strength to expose your vulnerability. That strength will also see you through. Look inside, know that you will find your peace and you will find everything that you're looking for, in life and love. You're not a victim, it's just life. Sometimes it sucks pretty bad but not always. Take care of yourself and when all else fails, put on the Ten album
2:26 girl you have no idea. My 19 year old self had heard Pearl Jam on the radio. Loved the sound. But this performance right here. I watched it when it aired and it blew my mind. Eddie Vedder was beautiful and tortured and expressive and his voice. I was obsessed for years. Eventually he cut his hair to a bob length and it totally ruined his hotness but his voice is still good to this day.
He sang this at show in tribute to Chris Cornell. End changed a bit that made it even more powerful, besides him breaking down crying. Can find it on youtube. After we blong together he adds the pleading in the additional lines with him singing "come back... come back" and the crowd then supporting him.
I’m in the tattoo industry. My child’s father is an amazing tattooist. He’s on trial for homicide and has been for nearly 2 years. This song hits me so hard. All the tattoos from him on me while listening to this… ugh. Words can’t convey what my heart wants to say
My favorite Pearl Jam song. I liked all the songs from the album "Ten" released as singles and was considering purchasing the CD. The release of the "Jeremy" music video is what finally convinced me to buy. As I started listening I really liked most of the songs. And then I heard "Black" and was just.... caught... It's hard to describe that first listen. They had me, and I listened to this song over and over again that night. Every time I hear it now, it brings me back to that first listen. Never released as an official single, and we are better off for it. It's a perfect, perfect song.

I'm so sorry. I cannot imagine...what I can imagine is this song being my salvation.
Sending love your way

I'm thankful that Eddie is still with us. So many of his contemporaries are gone now.

And the crown jewel is the nirvana set. I still listen to that set all the time. ❤

This specific performance is so soul crushing
Agree.. i’ve heard this performance probably 100 times and at the end I find myself choking back tears or just outright bawling. Profoundly sad.
This song is not nearly as soul crushing to Eddie... as it is to whatever girl dumped him as a young struggling musician... and then had to watch as he became rich and famous. And not just 15 minutes of fame, but the kind of musician that made it last a lifetime.
MTV unplugged.
This is probably the best live performance of any song by any band. Just my opinion but I’ve loved it since it came on the first time on MTV. All of the “grunge” band MTV Unplugged are legendary
He song this after Chris Cornell die 😢.. so heartbreak to watch….
The true power behind the alternative and grunge movement was the authentic and raw emotion in the voices of the singers.
This. So much this. Incredibly grateful my teen years were spent in this movement - I say as I sit here wearing my Doc Martens 😂

This song is the most precise definition of black, both as a color and a synonym of emptiness sucking all the light out
"it's a song about letting go" is how I believe Eddy describes it.
That poor beautiful boy.

Alice in chains and soundgarden too

I'm still searching for mine.

this performance with his improvised "we belong together" really punches me in the gut. every time I can imagine that pain, I've been there, I've felt that. Eddie was amazing for so many things but this is my all time favorite performance of his.
Him going through something like this makes this performance even better. Nothing makes a song great like the artist

I don't think anyone could perform this song this way unless they lived it. So raw, passionate and heartfelt.

Your response at the end of the video was so beautiful and well said. It spoke to my heart as much as this song does.

Thank you.
"Black" has to be one of the best heartbreak songs ever written. It captures the raw pain and emptiness so well. Still hits hard 30+ years on....
I always loved how tight the drums sound in this performance
That’s because Dave Abbruzzese is one of the best drummers of all time!
Rescued u from the black 🖤
This song will forever plague my heart...it's tragic and beautiful...I love it...I cry or sing it every time I listen to it
One interesting thing about this song: many years later (in the early 2010's, don't remember exactly the year now), Eddie said in an interview that this song was about...

I am 59 years old and a widower when I feel bad I listen to this song and somehow it makes me feel at peace
Just started listening to you (comments on alice in chains too) and your analysis makes things clearer for the emotions I already feel in their songs. That's why music is so powerful.

Your comment hit me hard. I’m so sorry, you didn’t deserve this.
Please take care of yourself.
I bet your pets are sweet though
If this is real…trust yourself to be able to handle if heartbreak happens again because what if life is just a play and when we die we wake up. You only get to be you once even if your soul never dies and you get to do it again.
It takes strength to expose your vulnerability. That strength will also see you through. Look inside, know that you will find your peace and you will find everything that you're looking for, in life and love. You're not a victim, it's just life. Sometimes it sucks pretty bad but not always. Take care of yourself and when all else fails, put on the Ten album
Fucking hear you man
2:26 girl you have no idea.
Eddie is a living GenX legend ❤ Pearl Jam was my 90’s teenage soundtrack
He sang this at show in tribute to Chris Cornell. End changed a bit that made it even more powerful, besides him breaking down crying. Can find it on youtube. After we blong together he adds the pleading in the additional lines with him singing "come back... come back" and the crowd then supporting him.
At 1:53 you understood what this song is about!
This ^. This is when the light bulb went. 1:53, not just rocking out anymore.
30 + yrs later and it still seems like yesterday, when Black hit our hearts like a boulder coming at us at moc speed.
You and your insights are absolutely incredible and spot on. Thanks for reacting to this masterpiece 🧡
My favorite song of all time.

This channel, this woman, this team… amazing. ❤️🙏💯👍👍
I’m in the tattoo industry. My child’s father is an amazing tattooist. He’s on trial for homicide and has been for nearly 2 years. This song hits me so hard. All the tattoos from him on me while listening to this… ugh. Words can’t convey what my heart wants to say
I have watched 100s of reactions to this song, and this is probably the BEST! ❤
Our emotions are devastating and necessary at the same time.
awww thank yoU!! I'm honored! - T
