I am absolutely loving your chair yoga. The sessions are a perfect length and your instructions are very easy to follow. You are introducing stretches that I have never done before but my body is sure reacting well to them. I can’t believe that you treat us to this for free. You are very special.
I'm on day 7 and I can't express enough gratitude. I'm loving it! I have 4 fusions in my spine and a recent foot surgery that didn't go well so this is my best scenario for exercise right now. You are so sweet and calming. It's not o ly good physically but also mentally. Thank you so much for making this available!
I'm so glad it's working well for you. If you have trouble standing, there is an entire playlist of All Seated classes on the Bottoms Down UA-cam channel at youtubecom/bottomsdown. See you tomorrow!
Good afternoon, Carol. Just finished another session, Day 7. I am beginning to feel a little stiff in places due to new stretching poses. No pain, just a little stiff. I am looking forward to tomorrow's session. Patrick, UK.
Great job! I love that you are repeating it. But remember that there are over 550 classes on the Bottoms Down UA-cam channel to choose from (ua-cam.com/users/bottomsdown) if you want to try other classes. See you tomorrow!
Thank you so much for this first week of Bottoms Down 28 day challenge. I twisted my angle 2 weeks ago and these videos are perfect for me now. Indeed the hardest part is getting to my chair. See you tomorrow.
Welcome! So glad to have you in our Bottoms Down community. Take care of that ankle. Remember that you can do any of the standing poses seated. See you tomorrow!
Yes! That's exactly what that means. I teach mat Pilates in person and woke up to sore abs this morning too. It feels good, doesn't it?!? See you tomorrow.
My sister recommended your channel to me ❤ Completed week one ❤ Today was exactly what I needed ❤ Thank you for the wonderful content. I've subscribed and will continue through the challenge ❤
Hi pretty Susan, So happy I found your site even though your challenge started a year ago, better late then never! I have just recovered from Cervical Spine Surgery and had 4,5, and six disc removed and a titanium plate with a screw as replacement. I will be 79 May 4th. I had the surgery February 6th 2023 and in August- December had 3 very bad falls. One of the problems was a medication called Cymbalta and having researched for weeks it has been known to be a destructive med for many people since around 2014. There are doctors and people on UA-cam that have shared their horrible experiences with getting off this med. I’m talking way over 100,000 people but most doctors are handing it out like candy and the withdrawal process must be very, very slow. Don’t know why I rattled off all of that so I’ll blame it on Cymbalta! I have told other people and my new Physical Therapist and even tho I have Fibromyalgia and arthritis they said go for it! Love your southern accent and your peace. I go to Bible study and have His peace but I tighten my shoulders many times instead of letting them relax. I will just keep trying my best to relax😊❤❤ Sincerely, Paulette
Welcome to Bottoms Down! I'm happy to hear that you are on the road to recovery. As you continue this chair yoga journey, remember that if standing is too much for you, just do all the movements from a seated position. You can also check out the Bottoms Down UA-cam channel at ua-cam.com/users/bottomsdown, scroll down to the playlist for Chair Yoga by Position and select "All Seated". Good luck to you and I'm so happy you've joined us. See you tomorrow!
Day 8 was a difficult day for me with very bad knees. But - I feel stronger every day and I find that doing the same day over a few times helps me gain strength to move onto the next. Thank you.
It's hard when we have a difficult day but feeling stronger is such a great motivator. I love that you are repeating classes before moving on; what a great idea! Do you mind if I share that with some of our community members?
Love and look forward each day for next session. Had problems with starting at beginning of day 6. So I missed the first 5 minutes or so. Hopefully tomorrow it will be ok
The hubby and I are really enjoying each day of your chair yoga and I am noticing improvements in my neck and shoulder mobility. So grateful to you for these. Thank you.
Other than a few yoga poses in my Wii Fit, this has been my most systematic encounter with yoga. Thank you Carole for this Chair Yoga series. I am so proud to complete this first week!! 😊
:) Thanks again for creating these videos. I enjoy the chair or standing practices since I've had both knees replaced and it's not fun kneeling. Take care.
Remember, you can use a strap to help lift your leg if you wish. Keep up the great work and you might find more flexibility in those legs. See you tomorrow!
Thank you Carol, for this 28 day challenge that I have on repeat. One question: after decades of (I just realized!) of carrying my shoulders up around my ears, does anyone have and helpful tips for breaking this habit? So frustrating and distracting to continuously adjust my shoulders!
Awareness is step one, and now you have that. Just be patient with yourself and the change will happen. I find that I do it at times too. But I'm aware and adjust immediately. You're doing great!
I'm glad you liked it! I have no plans to lead mat yoga classes on my UA-cam channel for now. But it could be something I do in the future. Keep coming back!
Day 7. Interesting how many body parts can need to be stretched. I was preparing to sneeze, oops lol. I also had numbness in my left side knee down once again. Numbness when doing the ankle roll. I’m still not sure if thats normal. Maybe caused by how I’m sitting or breathing? Thanks for another day. I’m a quarter way there. I haven’t missed a day.
Congratulations on not missing a day. That's great. I'm not sure about the numbness - the only thing I can think of is lack of blood flow to that area. Make sure the chair isn't cutting off the circulation in your leg. Keep going strong! See you tomorrow.
Good morning. I loved today's practice, but I find I have a hard time doing the :elbow squeeze" as I find my arthritis in my shoulders and elbows hurts. Is there anything I can do to help this?
Arthritis is very tricky. I would just leave that part out. Stretch as long as it feels OK, but don't push it. You're still doing lots of great work. Keep it up!
I enjoyed the wrist segment. I am enjoying this program overall. I do find the talking in the ocean part more distracting however, just the water and ambient music is nice. That voice is just like the video trainings required for work and for me personally, disturb the calm. I think I'll be muting that.
You can always leave your elbow bent. It'll take some of the pressure off of the shoulder joint. Or leave that part out! Just don't overdo it. See you tomorrow.
Please add alternative movements for those of us with limited mobility. I love following along with your videos and feel you are very inclusive of peoples abilities until it comes time to do the lower body. Every time you ask us to lift up our knees and grab them, I feel defeated. I can barely lift my legs 1-2 inches off the floor let alone grab them or the chair underneath. Please offer additional alternatives for those of us who are trying to do better and follow along.
Thanks for the feedback. I try hard to make all of the classes accessible to everyone. If we are doing a pose where we lift our legs, you can always place your hands under your thigh and assist the leg lift with your hands and arms. You can also use a strap to assist. I will continue to work on making all classes accessible. Again, thanks for the feedback.
I truly enjoy these videos and I appreciate you reading and replying to my comment. A strap is a great idea! I will definitely try that! Thank you for making something I feel comfortable doing.
A piece of equipment I have is a strap. I use it to lift my legs whether sitting, laying down, or standing. The strap I have is an upgrade from the plastic bands. This one has places where I can put my feet for an even deeper stretch, though most of the time I don’t use those.
I am absolutely loving your chair yoga. The sessions are a perfect length and your instructions are very easy to follow. You are introducing stretches that I have never done before but my body is sure reacting well to them. I can’t believe that you treat us to this for free. You are very special.

You are so welcome! I'm glad you are enjoying the classes. The meditations are from Greatday.com, Ralph Marston. I agree, they are fantastic.
