None of Windu's team survived so Jedi had no idea about their deaths and Anakin's new name. Then out of thin air entire 501st led by Anakin arrives at the Temple and starts killing everybody inside.
Anikan not only killed the Jedi men, but the jedi women, and the Jedi children too. They were animals to him, and he slaughtered them like animals. He hated them.
WestAirAviation He could have left the order, actually used self-control like he was supposed to, or just... not gone on a killing spree. Plenty of options
Didn't Anakin eventually kill Padme too when he thought that she betrayed him? It's sad that all actions he took to prevent her from her dying were all for nothing when he broke her heart and took away her will to live.
Tonight the fall of the Jedi is at hand. We have been directed by the highest authority to wipe out the insurgent Jedi Order that threatens our great Empire.
What always confused me was... did NO ONE see the legion for the Republic’s finest marching up the Temple steps? I guess everyone was getting ready for bed, fine, but no Jedi happened to be coming into the temple at the time? Where were the Temple guards? Are they not at the front gates always waiting to fight for the Temple’s defense? How did the 501st amass there anyways? Not doubting that they could, but I wanna see how Operation Knightfall was set up and maneuvered before the Marching with Vader began.
Really wish we got to see more of what transpired at the Jedi Temple in Episode 3, at least the initial assault, didn't need to see younglings being slaughtered but would've been cool to see Vader and the 501st take on a few Jedi Knights in one epic scene at least.
I mean a simp does everything for a girl and gets nothing. Anakin did every thing for Padme and got sex. He might be a simp but he is a successful one.

Sad thing is, this was the Legends variant of the story, where the Clones were all traitorous bastards who only served Palpatine. In Canon, however, they were controlled by inhibitor chips.
brage johansen It was a glorious mess, I much preferred how the aftermath of Endor played out in legends. It was the kind of chaos you would expect from the fall of a galaxy wide empire. Everything that happens after ROTJ in canon just doesn't interest me. I didn't enjoy the aftermath novels or the new trilogy. I don't think the empire would just fall after a year of fighting and then completely collapse. The stories told in legends are the stories I grew up with, it's honestly a bit heartbreaking to have it all just retconed for stuff that isn't even interesting. I'm happy for people who can enjoy the new canon and have had their interest in the franchise reignited but it just doesn't work for me. The least they could do is acknowledge legends as a separate but equally legitimate timeline and continue to support it.
Probably my biggest gripe with the prequels is that they would cut away and not show us some of the most awesome moments. The Battle of Kashyyyk, Anakin slaughtering the Tuskan Raiders, and most importantly, Order 66. Yes, seeing the Jedi fall one-by-one was powerful, even though there was no attachment to any of the characters (unless watching The Clone Wars) But I can't help but imagine how amazing it would have been to see a very conflicted Anakin kill his old friends. Not to mention incredibly cinematic, an army of Clones fighting all the Jedi, with Anakin taking them on. I think the younglings scene was good, but I still wish we had got to see more, it's such a shame
StoryShift Asriel I would. You refuse to toe the line for the Light, but shy away from immersing yourself in the Dark. All you're showing is a grand lack of conviction.
I actually was watching Episode 2 before I went to sleep, and I assume Episode 3 must’ve went on after I fell asleep, because I had a dream where I was in the Jedi temple during order 66, and damn, I woke up with chills.
The 501st Legion had been trained with anti-Jedi tactics to use if Order 66 would be initiated. You're also forgetting that the only Jedi Masters present in the temple were Shaak Ti, Jocasta Nu and Cin Drallig. Ki-Adi-Mundi, Plo Koon, Luminara, Yoda, Obi-Wan, Aayla Secura, Adi Gallia, Kai Hudorra, Quinlan Vos, Tsu Choi, Rahm Kota, Kazdan Paratus and Eath Koth were the only other masters left and they were all on missions. Plus, they were all taken by surprise. They never expected Order 66 to be used.
@@ugm_gilanghaikhal7948 True, but the clones did the heavy lifting. Anakin killed Cin Drallig and Jocasta Nu, making it easier for the clones to handle the rest, which mostly consisted of Padawans. Anakin's primary job was to guide the clones through the temple and activate the beacon in the communications room (while killing any Jedi he comes across). When that was done, he went to Mustafar while the clones stayed behind and killed the remaining Jedi. But that's besides the point. The point is that the reason Operation: Knightfall was so easy was because there were barely any masters in the temple and the mission was carried out by the 501st, which are the best of the best. I don't think Anakin being the chosen one gave him much edge. In fact, Shaak Ti probably could've killed him easily, but she thought it was more important to live to fight another day.
@@vetarlittorf1807 shaak ti could have killed anakin you must be joking. She was powerful, but no way she could beat anakin, at this point the only jedi who stood a chance against anakin was yoda and obi. It would be a good fight though
We don't really know her Canonical fate. In Legends however we know she fights off Vader and evacuates many survivors from the temple. She later dies in 3 BBY or 16 after the events of Revenge of The Sith. It is likely the same events happened in Canon. We will get to see her fate when the Clone Wars TV show returns to the air. They will most likely do a order 66 episode.

Frank Dees I mean have you not seen the clone wars? Clones are pretty useless compared even to padawan in the show usually. I call bs that a building full of jedi could be killed by clones and 1 half baked sith.
thecreatorofthedark Depends on the clones. Kiadi Mundi ones for example dodged blaster fire. That's Jedi level reaction times. Also Jedis could be killed by droids when heavily outnumbered, so I'm sure if instead of droids they were heavily outnumbered by the much superior clones they would meet the same fait.
1:40 i always get bothered when i see that clip because Anakin sits on the council. Why is Jocasta telling a council member that only a council member can authorize access?
Duncan McGee he was given a seat on the council but wasn't made a master, its basically outright saying to the order hes an observer. it may also have been because he spoke and acted on palpatines authority as an agent if the supreme Chancellor and not as a jedi council member. it was pointed out she sensed his fall to the dark side so she may not have even seen him as a jedi any more.
they only gave him that title because he was close to the Chancellor, no one actually thought of him as a council member which is why Anakin felt insulted and was pissed.
She says only the Jedi Council can authorize access, he's a council member, but he's not the entire council. If anything, he could've been a simple short term council member. And the thing that really made her ignite her blade was the fact she could sense the darkness radiated from him, plus he specifically used the words "by order of the Supreme Chancellor," which raised an even higher red flag.
I dont know how tf i found your channel but i've been binging on this content every chance I get. Break at work? The Lore Master, Driving somewhere? The Lore Master haha. Good Stuff, keep it coming 👍🏻👍🏻
Well, let's see which are genuinely countered by canon: Jocasta Nu survived with several Holocrons, hoping to set up a new Jedi Order. She returned to get some stuff from the temple, but was attacked by Vader, the Grand Inquisitor and Commander Fox, and Vader eventually killed her against orders from Palpatine. Shaak Ti was most likely killed by Anakin while maditating, like in the deleted scene. It's somewhat shown in a vision of the future from Yoda during the Clone Wars. And the Kel Dor Jedi thing is also unlikely to be true now, as those secret tunnels were used by Jocasta when she returned to the temple.
Fives finding out about the inhibitor chips in every clone, Chancellor Palpatine/Sidious, and what Order 66 meant once activated, died with him, before anything could’ve been done to prevent the destruction of the Jedi Order. Pretty depressing knowing that it could have been stopped.
Things were horrific there that's for sure. Crimes he committed make me think that he didn't deserve any kind of redemption. I am wondering if Luke even found out what his father had done in the Jedi Temple. I think he did but still he believed that his father was good deep inside.
I think Vader's crimes were well-documented by the Rebels, and probably relayed by Ben Kenobi during the flight to Alderaan. Or Yoda during Luke's training on Dagobah. Luke probably did know.
My Star wars Oh for sure no question. But in a fight I think Drallig is better. “his skills described as being "nearly unparalleled."[8] Drallig's skill was such that it was the conviction of Count Dooku that the renowned combatant General Grievous would be no match for the Battlemaster, should they ever face off against one another” All 7 lightsaber forms as well.
WestAirAviation You’re right. He should have. Along with Shaak Ti too. And possibly even some others. Sith “Dead” for 1000 years and all the sudden wait, our High Chancellor is a Sith Lord and Master? And Master of Dooku of all people. One the best and most powerful Jedi in the order? Well fuck. Mace should’ve been prepared to fight Satan himself, with the current Jedi having so little experience fighting Sith and having no idea what to expect.
WestAirAviation Seriously right? Lots of Jedi Masters, best Clone unit available, and maybe even some Clone Commandos. And tell as many people as you can what’s going on and what he’s doing. Wear a damn body cam or some shit. Snipers could EASILY look into Palpy’s office...
Learning this, why do I get the strong vibe that Anakin didn't deserve that spot at the end of "The return of the Jedi (episode 6)" What, just because he had a change of heart for his son? Imagine all he massacred mercilessly Jedi masters, Padawans, Politicians, etc. Mace Windu should be alive it wasn't because of him
Sheev Talks actually there is no concrete evidence to suggest Shaak Ti dies and Jocasta Nu's survival is rediculous as it is shown in other materials that she was killed in the temple. Thanks to "Disney Canon" that was all retconned and now master Ti is "Missing in action" and Master Nu is alive...
A vision that has Ahsoka dying, Luminara unduli, mace windu and other jedi charging clones, wrong jedi being killed by palpatine and many other inaccuracies... Force visions aren't always accurate and in canon we all know Ahsoka lives past order 66 and episode 6, Luminara unduli was on kashykk with Yoda and Quinlan vos, mace windu was killed in palpatines office along with 3 other masters... Visions are a warning not a reality... Then we have Shaak Ti's holocron post order 66... So by definition she is missing in action and could likely gone into exile.
Jordan Grice And then I guess we're ignoring the comic where Anakin storms the temple and goes directly for Shaak Ti, seeing as she was the most powerful Jedi that was currently in the temple and had to be dealt with
“-the dead bodies of the Jedi were dragged outside onto the Temple’s front steps and burned for all the people to see.” Me: “And the public wasn’t freaked out that children were part of that burning?!”

Not like any of the other Jedi were putting out. Anakin was low on options.

It was Natalie Portman tho...
Didn't Anakin eventually kill Padme too when he thought that she betrayed him? It's sad that all actions he took to prevent her from her dying were all for nothing when he broke her heart and took away her will to live.
He was supposed to bring balance to the force. He did. Twice. By killing everyone.

Where were the Temple guards? Are they not at the front gates always waiting to fight for the Temple’s defense?

It was a silent trip. We all knew what was about to happen, what we were about to do. Did we have any doubts? Any private, traitorous thoughts? Perhaps, but no one said a word. Sad thing is, this was the Legends variant of the story, where the Clones were all traitorous bastards who only served Palpatine. In Canon, however, they were controlled by inhibitor chips.

Boba Antilles Same here. I'm excited that the Devs are keen to expand it into more eras like the clone wars and old Republic.
Chad Thundercock Well, we will get Fall of the Republic and I am so ready for it XD
Chad Thundercock legends was a mess.. and have some patience. Disney is slowly cinfirming some legends stuff to be canon.
brage johansen It was a glorious mess, I much preferred how the aftermath of Endor played out in legends.
Just imagine when Jedi Padawans and their friends make a last stand
and die then together

Trevor C that happens when you get betrayed and ambushed
@@vetarlittorf1807 And don't forget that "The Chosen One" was the one who leads the attack. The Force bent to his will at that time.
Anyone else still hoping Shaak Ti still survives in canon?

Also Jedis could be killed by droids when heavily outnumbered, so I'm sure if instead of droids they were heavily outnumbered by the much superior clones they would meet the same fait.
thecreatorofthedark you're kidding right?
The temple mostly had padawans in it. Anakin was also helping. You don't want to make the jedi godlike then it would feel like nothing can stop them.

This is my favorite video that you have made and I love your channel over all of the other Star Wars channels
1:40 i always get bothered when i see that clip because Anakin sits on the council. Why is Jocasta telling a council member that only a council member can authorize access?
Duncan McGee I don't think she knew he WAS a council member
I mean, Anakin was only really an honorary council member.
Sha Koon: *has vision of the original trilogy* "hey that looks pretty sweet"
*has visions of the new trilogy*

Cin Drallig was (In my opinion) better than Shaak Ti. He was the designated Jedi Battlemaster and one of the best duelists.
My Star wars Oh for sure no question. But in a fight I think Drallig is better.

Oh man I love Star Wars aswell as your content
In Legends, Jocasta dies and Shaak Ti escapes. In canon, Shaak Ti dies and Jocasta escapes...why do people like canon better than Legends????
Sheev Talks actually there is no concrete evidence to suggest Shaak Ti dies and Jocasta Nu's survival is rediculous as it is shown in other materials that she was killed in the temple. Thanks to "Disney Canon" that was all retconned and now master Ti is "Missing in action" and Master Nu is alive...
William McGuire Well actually we know thanks to Yoda's vision in The Clone Wars that Ti, in fact, DOES die by Anakin's blade in Order 66
Sheev Talks "vision". Meaning not the case.
Jordan Grice And then I guess we're ignoring the comic where Anakin storms the temple and goes directly for Shaak Ti, seeing as she was the most powerful Jedi that was currently in the temple and had to be dealt with
Is nobody really going to mention how cheery and happy Palpatine is in this one!
And remember: killing dozens of children means you can STILL be rehabilitated to a good person (in lucas' mind)
it’s nice that in the bad batch we get confirmed in canon that she dies on kamino
