Yeah. It’s super realistic. I want a Star Wars TV Show in the style of a war film about a stormtrooper. Give the troopers souls and not just generic goons. I want it to show the rebels as terrorists. I want trench warfare. I want World War 1 with Star Wars tech.

But you don't want some young punk running up to you when your old and gray sitting on your front porch and shooting you just because you killed his parents or something... had a similar situation happen to me. It always bothered me how Stormtroopers wore all this armor, but one blaster bolt is enough to kill one
If they got shot and fell down they are really knocked out
When a stormtrooper gets shot the energy from the blaster gets spread around the body resulting in the trooper getting knocked out

If the 1st world military industrial complex really wanted to conquer the world by military force, nothing short of God himself could stop it. Nations like vietnam, Iran, Somalia, Even major powers like Indea and Brazil would be ash covered corpse yards in a matter of months. Fortunately there is one blessed thing holding back the full might of the western world: the western empathetic heart. The sheer outrage and turmoil that even one tiny imperialist action would and has caused scares those in power enough to keep them in check. Until the western populace gets mad enough to let go of the leash.
I would just order Exterminatus upon that planet.

So basically:
The Empire can be good and/or bad
The Rebellion can be good and/or bad
The Jedi cans be good and/or bad
But there’s no way in hell anyone can convince me the Sith can be good without self-interest in mind
Like how Anakin wanted to save Padme then failed miserably?
I don't remember how accurate this information is, and I don't think it was explicitly stated, but rather something you could infer.
During the time Darth Revan was a sith, his goal was never self-centered, and one might even say he had good intentions even if he went about it in the wrong way. Revan saw the weakness of the Republic in that it would never be centralized enough to go up against the sith empire that was going to invade in a few decades or so. Or at least, that's how he saw it. So his plan was to conquer and create a new government that would be powerful enough to save the galaxy from emperor Vitiate. Darth Revan was a sith, but one could argue that he had good intentions, and he certainly was not a self-interested character.
Anyways, other than that, I agree with you. The problem with the Sith is that their order was so focused on one's own gain that they couldn't function together. Although, there likely were plenty of excpetions, I believe, sith who were not completely evil. For instance, in the KOTOR games, there's a purple twi'lek on Korriban (important character, but forgot her name) who became a Sith with the intention of saving the slaves of her homeworld. That, to me, says that there were, at least, a handful of Sith throughout the ages that were not evil at heart.
darth vectivus was a sith who literally did no evil
@@CeLeb144 even anakin's actions can be considered selfish, he did not fear her death, he feared losing her, and thats vastly different.
Nah man, there are a lot of sith who weren't self centered and many of them only joined sith for a good cause like how Anakin wanted to save Padme from certain death.

I'm glad that the expanded lore is humanizing Stormtroopers in ways that the movies simply refuse to do. But I'm still bothered by the fact that nearly every story I've heard results in the Imperial character going turncoat or realizing the Galactic Empire is evil just before they die. The Empire has literal **trillions** of soldiers fighting for it, and they're really trying to tell us that every one of those people are evil or complicit? Come on. I want a story where an Imperial is Imperial through and through, and isn't evil. Someone who has real convictions and motivations for being pro-Imperial.
The only story I've heard with an Imperial Stormtrooper as the protagonist that didn't have any moral conflict was told through the eyes of the Stormtrooper that Princess Leia shot in the beginning of A New Hope. Basically, it was just him thinking back on his life and how dissatisfied he was with it all up until the point where he and his squad of Stormtroopers boarded the Tantive IV, where he ultimately ended up getting shot in the face by Leia. It was a sad story. But no moral conflict.

Star Wars Story: Tales of a Stormtrooper
TK-462: A STAR WARS Story
there's too many things in Star Wars that could become great sources of movie.
Recently, I'm tired of watching the conflicts between darksider and Jedi or Sith..... Come on, we all normal people, we can't do mircales, we are also naturally sympathetic to normal characters in Star Wars.
The value of black and white is also what I don't appreciate.

They followed Orders and got executed for being a guy working for their country
It's even more sad because his dad is probably worried sick and hasn't heard from him a long time.
I can fully relate to him. My sister was murdered in 2017 and not a day goes by that I don't think about her or my ultimate failure. I thought about her throughout the entire video. The only differences were that we were both adults, she wasn't a victim of war, she was older and that I was a soldier. My ultimate failure was that I chose the Army instead of staying with my sister. Could've protected her, but I failed. This video reminds me of her and that failure.
Another reason why I don't think stormtroopers are bad people.
Originally, my reasons were they were normal people with crappy jobs. I got this conclusion from a conversation between two stormtroopers in Star Wars Episode IV, the scene where Obi-Wan covers his tracks and leaves the tractor beam room.
Trooper #1: "Do you know what's going on?"
Trooper #2: (pauses for a second) "Maybe it's another drill..."
After a few seconds, they start talking again.
Trooper #1: "Did you get those new blaster charges?*" *I don't remember what he said, other than it started with "did you get those new"
Then, Obi-Wan uses the force to create a distraction.
Trooper #1: "What was that?"
Trooper #2: "That's nothing."
And in the Solo movie, when the troopers were watching Chewbacca beating up Han.
Trooper #1: "Ten credits he doesn't last another minute!"
When I played the 2005 Star Wars battlefront II, the trooper who was doing the narrating in the campaign said this after the battle of Yavin, just before the Empire launched an attack against the rebels.
"When the death star was destroyed, about half of the 501st was still getting into there fighters. Of those that made it out, another third was caught in the explosion. I'd fought with some of those men for over twenty years."
And the newest reason: this video.
A true monster, a true "bad person" isn't one that has no regard for life. It isn't one that would gladly watch the world burn. It is the good people who justify bad things to the point where nothing is wrong.
@@idiocyincorporated7635 Which is precisely what the Empire did. I agree with OP that individual stormtroopers weren't all bad, but the people in POWER in the Empire were terrible.
@@jackrutledgegoembel5896 It's what everybody did, the Republic that the Empire overthrew, the Rebellion, the old Sith Empire, all of them did it. The destruction of Alderaan was to try to stop the Rebellion, the killing of all the non-combat roles on the second Death Star to stop the empire, the old Republics plan to kill 97.3% of the Sith Empires population through Genocide via an unending army of droids, and the Sith Empires attack on Coruscant. All of these were attempts to do the "right" thing by stopping their enemies to make there be no more violence, but all of these were horrible actions were done by people who were trying to do the "right" thing by ending the fighting quickly. The individual grunts might have been great people, but the leaders were the ones who allowed and ordered these atrocities to happen
Jack Rutledge Goembel I believe that the empire were good before the galactic civil war because when it started the empire tightened its grip on the galaxy and changed a lot of thing and by the battle of Jakku most imperials had defected and the people who stayed were complete fanatics
And also, because Rebel exist, Death star exist
I honestly always have had a moral problem with the fact that Storm Troopers don't have souls. So, I'm sensitive. But that's messed up. I like the different point of view you have.
Tauney Elysia don’t have souls? Wtf do u mean by that
@@operatorbutt4265 maybe she meant the clone Storm Troopers as they were cloned.
@@charlieextra9406 no, she meant they are just nothing but faceless nobodies in the movies and their whole point in these movies, TV shows, comics is to literally die cause they're just "bad guys"
They do in fact have souls in my point of view. Everything eventually transfers in to the force, even clones
Vazerin exactly what I think she meant is that we never see stormtroopers human like, they just have their full helmets and armor but no one sees them as human they just die and that’s it, nobody thinks that the last trooper they killed had a family or they just wanted money to live well because they are faceless, they seem more akin to robots instead of humans
I love the left pic thumbnail. It shows that not all Stormtroopers are the same. Most of the them have Families waiting for them to return home from Duty, others don’t want to fight, others want to help out, but they’re always portrayed as clumsy, unintelligent, cold and quiet soldiers that follow orders without hesitation, even when walking into a death trap. When I saw Star Wars IV again after a while, I wondered who the good guy was, especially after Luke blew up the Death Star and killed more than a Million men, women, and possibly Families with children visiting their Family members serving in the DS.
Rebels: bucket heads have no feeling

I think the part where he was ordered to burn down a village was that order Vader gave Kallus in order to sought fear onto the Lothal rebels in the season 2 premiere episode.

So the man who whipped out a blaster to shoot stormtroopers, who the stormtrooper shot, wasn't a rebel by your account?
@@HighAdmiral Who says he can't just be some random guy, who wanted to save a hostage?
Yup.
@@Gamerafighter76
Plus, ordinary people do not have weapons who could blast through a Stormtroopers armor so easily. Not on such a backwater world. They also did not act foolish and start a fight (having a little daughter nearby) with a full squad of elite soldiers in town and enough backup for them to flatten the area (I mean Lothol at that time had a strong enough garrisson).
I think the death of his sister and the death of this man he shot were much different. His sister had just slept - not pointing a weapon towards someone. The guy was an adult, she was a child. He killed the man to safe the life of another person, she died just because the rebels wanted more material for their campaign of terror and not really care about the life the very same people they always claim to "liberate".
Plus of course it is wrong to say that Lothol did not have benefits from the Imperials - although "Rebels" claimed it. In "Thrawn" it is adressed that there were part of society who prospered. It was a harsh transformation and there were winners and loosers, but it was not so the life on Lothol was heaven before the Empire and hell after it came to their world. Just the positions of people changed a lot. The help for the murderous local criminals was what brought the fury of the Empire.

Through all the rage, sweat and tears, beating down zombie's, demons, old corrupted hero's, Some wank you didn't like *That guy at firelink shrine* And giant grotesque dragons. Is a story of Betrayal, Murder, Love and... Fire. Yes the Lore is quite vague but if you dig, you'll get it. Vague parts of it, so all you need to do to piece all of it together is to listen to everyone you can talk to, read everything, and understand who or what you were fighting was before it went mad.
But enough about Dark souls. Star trek is shit. The newer ones anyway.

This is exactly what I hate about stormtrooper stories, the empire is always represented as the bad guys, and yet still it is funny how in every stormtrooper story the main character is feeling bad for what he is doing, and in rebel stories, rebels do not care at all when they kill inocents even when there were cases of doing so, they almost stole that machine and then when they failed they took a life, and no one gave a damn, but when a stormtrooper steps on a bug It's tragedy! It's drama, insanity everything is so scary! What a monster! They need to make a damn story where the stormtrooper is proud of what he is doing and simply being strong and confident, because that is how the rebels are made to look like.
Don't forget their attempts to make the Empire grimdark ends up as grimderp for most of the time. Also making the rank and file as "fanatical evil murderers" for some reason, seen in this story for example.

Dafuq was that blaster the little girl fired!? Cause storm-trooper armor is meant to absorb and redistribute the blast then the undergarments take some of the heat energy.... Was it an improved slug thrower?
yes
@ From all the lore that I've read and break down videos I've seen... According to my knowledge, the armor absorbs the energy, distributes it, and what ever gets through burns the undergarments and the wearer severely. After being hit, the trooper is rendered unconscious, recovered, and chucked in a bacta-tank to heal the severe burns.
As far as I heard, it takes a really really powerful blaster to actually kill the trooper.

Why is it we can never get a Star Wars Story where a good person believes the Empire is 100% good, just like how Luke believed the Rebels were 100% good.
Because that can't happen. The empire is the dark side embodied. While there are good people in the empire, the empire itself is not good since they were founded from the evil of Palatine's agenda which destroyed the republic. If you say the empire is good then you completely destroy the universe that Star wars is in and you mind as well make a new franchise. The only way you can have someone who never realizes the empire is bad is if you use a bland unrealistic character or serious continuity errors.
Dave Smith or you simply point out at the good things the empire did that the republic didn’t do
cesar febres pretty sure none of those things out weigh the legalization of slavery, destroying Alderaan, and the countless other mass killings and genocides the empire has done. No matter what I have zero care for what happens to a stormtrooper of The empire
Shadefox 00 yeah yeah just go and think every stormtrooper is a heartless machine while every rebel is a freedom loving good guy that has never sinned, the empire did many things that are both good and bad, the destruction of Alderaan was horrible but the integration of planets the republic neglected was something good and arguably better for more people than Alderaan’s population, you have to remember that the empire is a government that oversees tens of thousands of planets and most of them never hear true fighters or see stormtroopers which means the empire is doing something good job that actual intergalactic governments in Star Wars should do more, stormtroopers fight for the stability that the empire brought with it, I’m not about to side with the emperor but the stormtroopers are people too if one dies they shouldn’t be treated as they are in the movies in my humble opinion.
Because every good person will see faults on fascist totalitarian states by default.

The Canon is starting to bring more and more interesting stories with the pass of the time.
It seems that what once a friend of mine said was true, back in 2013-14: ''This new canon is young, give it the opportunity to rise''.
Don't misunderstood me please, I'm not a pro-Legends and a hater of Disney's Canon, I'm just waiting to say that, in my opinion, the time has gave enough benefits to Canon to evolve and become more and more impregnated with quality.
Moral of the day: this stories shows us how war is not what you could expect at first; the concept of ''good vs evil'' always depends on the point of view of each of the parts involved in the conflict and rarely occurs in it's purely definition. War is more like a ''scale of grayness''.
You must be joking. This is bog-standard for Disney. Disney does 2 kinds of sympathetic Imperials: Those who die questioning their government, and those who successfully defect.
This was not a positive story, it was another round of moralizing from Disney.
Get back to me when they have done a story on a loyal Imperial that sticks to his/her government AND isn't an evil asshole all along.
Terenin what about Thrawn? Faro or Yularen?
@@Blackpearlmatt Were *ANY* of those envisioned by Disney, or did they inherit them all from the EU and the works of others?
Terenin Thrawn and Yularen were inherited yet Thrawn was always the villain of the stories he was in, only in 2017 was he written as the hero of the story which was under Disney
@@Blackpearlmatt He is not a HERO, he is an ANTAGONIST to a bunch of rebellious kids - that he fails to deal with. It's pissing all over his character as it was established.
In short, no sympathetic Imperials that don't either die or defect, and I should have added, "those who stay are reduced to an incompetent joke."
Problem is, Disney works, ultimately, on black/white stories. If the Rebels are white, the opponents - the Empire - has to be black. Ergo, there can't be such a thing as a white Imperial that don't end up not being an Imperial, or an effective one. Either way, Thrawn was not made by Disney, if he was... how do you think he would be portrayed?
Frankly, I think if Disney made Thrawn, he would be a hyped-up Human Imperial and his brains and ability would be rather impotent when it matters, to hype up the good guys. This is standard fare for this kind of story-telling.

It would have been a better movie if they had shown some of his time in training and him getting kicked out of pilot training, in my opinion.
Stories like this reminds me that there is no good and evil just points of view
Now we see the true horror of the Extremists that call themselves "Rebels" claiming to have to moral high ground against the Empire, however the whole reason the Empire takes these actions is to stop people like the Extremists, if the Extremists didn't take such terrible actions then the Empire wouldn't retaliate.
