I grew up on a dairy farm. We had chickens but always bought chicks and then raised them for meat. So do you use the eggs for cooking? I’m guessing you use two instead of one in recipes? I noticed they’re a bit smaller than chicken eggs. Rather exciting waiting for eggs to hatch and aren’t they just the cutest little ones 🥰 ♥️🇨🇦
@@rosalynpowell3310 I’m totally intrigued with the idea of raising quail. So, be honest ☺️. They become your friends don’t they? I’d still love to live somewhere where I could have animals… but at this point only as pets 🤷♀️🥰
they looked like Pearl (Fawn dna) when younger and i thought they would turn out as Pearl but i knew the parents are wild/pharaoh (mothers) and Manchurian (Father /Fawn) but babies turn out to be 100% italian so i hit nail with everything but baby feathers.
Oh that's brilliant! We've always known them as golden, just because of their difference with the dark wild type, but it's great to know a bit more about the breeds themselves 🙂 thank you!
Can the quails hatch there own eggs , I'm very surprised but I've noticed the eggs are being laid in a pile , didn't expect the quail to get broody , I have one male two females , and new to any sort of foul, had someone stay who came with the male she left and couldn't take him we decided he needed female so got two and now I'm not sure wat to do
That’s interesting to hear, yes with the right conditions it is possible for them to hatch their own, but more often than not they don’t. With ours we find they lay in piles but aren’t really interested in hatching them 🙉
Wow, that was really fascinating. Miracle of life. Why are chicks so adorable!! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! glad you enjoyed the video ☺️
I’m on the 16th day for my quails! I’m so excited for them to hatch
Best of luck! Will be sharing excitement with you as we have some on day 18 today which are now pipping! 😁

They were so cute!!
Yes, the eggs are really good boiled and used in things like egg mayo, in salads and as a side or snack 😋
I use 12 quail eggs for an omelette. Usual 3-4 quail eggs to one chicken egg.

I had 6 celadon eggs and nothing hatched … it was disappointing but maybe next time … if I can find the blue eggs again … so nice to see yours hatch …
Thanks for watching! Yes it was great to have a handful of them hatch this time round, best of luck for your next lot of celadons! 🐣
