The soft shell lacks calcium and also it signifies that your quails doesnt acquire enough sunlight or vitamin D and also vitamin A. There are some aspect that your quail is fat which sometimes lead to produce several egg follicle.
For the cage. I agree to you about the high cage, I just wondering why not make the cage a bit more spacious for the quail ? To give them extra breathing room for space, also easier to clean the cage as well.
Quail rise up fast and strong if startled, breaking their necks but low ceiling cage prevents death. Otherwise make a 5ft high A frame cage or just a 5,6ft high cage they can soar up and safely come down or if a high cage, have things they can land on, up high
If you give them more space, they will have more legroom to roam around. They will spend energy that should be best reserved to laying eggs. The more energy they spend, the more they will eat. The more they eat because they are moving around, the more feeds you will buy. It's a bit unethical but that's just how things are.

You must not know much at all about quails. Either you do a very short under 1 ft cage. or you go to a 6 ft cage. Quail spook and fly straight up at the sky, if they dont have 6 ft of space, or under 1 ft, they have enough force to break their own necks. The grid floors allows waste to easily get away from the birds, which is obviously better then having them sit in it. Educate yourself before you make a fool of yourself.

This is the best way to cage quail. Low cages prevent them from spooking and breaking their necks. I do agree he could remove some birds from the pen but this is normal for egg producers
I know right? Like, this video is helpful, but you need atleast a 3'4 Cage (About 3-5 foot) to be able to keep 2 quails alive for atleast more then 2 weeks.
Amazing. Im also planning to farm quails. Its a good thing to know how fuzzy they are and are flyers (i was planning to let them scatter like chickens) and now I know i need a cage. Im subscribing. 😄
I love your channel and never had an issues with your ideas and have had my own ideas about doing the same as you in your different money making. But I feel your birds here are to compact. Meaning to many in a cage. Not being negative or judgement of your methods. Just feel they should have more running room without having to run into another. Good work on everything though.
There is a big difference between those who care about quality and those who care about quantity. Those are unhappy birds. I raise quail for meat and for eggs but I give them a much happier environment with room to get away from each other. Stressed birds give less healthy eggs.

@@1miltond Don't worry, I am sure they eat the birds too.
Good job!!!
Feel sad for the quails for this space
Go to big name commercial farms that produce any kind of poultry for supermarkets under government regulations and see what you think then. I feel sad because of under educated tree huggers who think they know it all and know nothing! People who don't live in reality, now that is sad!
2021, the year of the quail
Nice 👍🏼
Hope you give them bigger space to improve quality of life. Sobrang siksikan nila.
Yes poor quails 😭😭😭
Bilibid kasi yan haha
Sana nga pinuno pa kasi may sayang yung space.
He's providing nutrition to children. Human lives are important. 🙄
@@Thewellshomestead I just don't understand you. Quails are living things just like humans. I think it's okay to kill animals because they'll die at some point anyway, but then they should at least lead a good life and what this is is pure animal cruelty. There should be a maximum of 3 quails per 1 square meter. They also need a sand bath, hide and provide food that is always available, which is not difinitive. And the poor quail keep breaking their legs in this wire. So I really feel sorry for the quails.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful farming journey. Can you tell me how many eggs does one quail bed lays everyday and also how many quail beds to you have
Oh now I understand the short cage philosophy. My friends has quails.I have chickens
hi dexter, we are planning to have a mini quail farm as well. we think we have all the resources needed for it. the only problem that we have is when the time comes that we need to butcher our quail? can you make a video for that? are you doing it your self? or you have someone to do it for you?
I think over crowded and lack of ventilation. They need water drinker like the chicken .
Very informative
Dexter is an experience hobbyist and business man , he knows what he is doing 👍
Can you sho us one day how you created these pins for the quails , like build a pen and at what angle to softly roll ?
To see many baby quail in a large large box with the proper mulch or straw
A whole colony if you will
Is really something these are adults but the baby quail are like little chickens
They need to have a place, where they do relax their feet... it is not normal... for tewm to be on a grid...
Very informative ,,love your channel bro ...there are many quails roaming under the plant of our subdivision here mostly sa mga tanim ng mga halaman ,they really love being around in an invisible area ,so wider place is not their nature of living ..
Love you're channel.. I'm glad I came across..
Quail eggs have a lot of cholesterol but it is the good kind. Also other things that make them healthier than chicken eggs.
Damn, them quails lay some eggs. I'd like to try some. Need a farm that doesn't cage them like this though.
I agree
This is the best way to cage quail. Low cages prevent them from spooking and breaking their necks. I do agree he could remove some birds from the pen but this is normal for egg producers
@@tmears42286 yeah i watched some of his other videos. He's producing for profit so its expected.
@@tmears42286 this is a form of neglect. It can have easily spread disease and sickness, pecking problems, and a lot more.
Thanks for sharing. Great video. God's blessing. Keep up the good work. 🙏👍
Great video Dexter. I spend a lot of time in Thailand and have a house here and would love to do something like this someday.
Owow they look crowded !
Thank you from Mozambique
I think your cage look great. Perfect size and Design.
you are a great man for doing that for the children good job
amazing
Glad you think so!
Oof, and I thought my quails were a little tightly packed.
I know right? Like, this video is helpful, but you need atleast a 3'4 Cage (About 3-5 foot) to be able to keep 2 quails alive for atleast more then 2 weeks.
@@judgeofyeah You need a shed. quails need also solid ground
Quails needs 1m for themselves! The poor little quails! 😩Give them more place and let them in a green place with some plants!😕🌱
Very empress! Dexter, for Quail eggs farming is fun and making money!.true nutritious!.overwhelming!.
i like your accent, and your english is great
Amazing. Im also planning to farm quails. Its a good thing to know how fuzzy they are and are flyers (i was planning to let them scatter like chickens) and now I know i need a cage. Im subscribing. 😄
Nice video I love quilt hegs
I love your channel and never had an issues with your ideas and have had my own ideas about doing the same as you in your different money making. But I feel your birds here are to compact. Meaning to many in a cage. Not being negative or judgement of your methods. Just feel they should have more running room without having to run into another. Good work on everything though.
There is a big difference between those who care about quality and those who care about quantity. Those are unhappy birds. I raise quail for meat and for eggs but I give them a much happier environment with room to get away from each other. Stressed birds give less healthy eggs.
hello, wat are your suggestion about space? aim open to ideas hi have see other video about way the small space to avoid quail to fly and crash the eggs but if as ather opinion hi want the lern about it
No offense but does it matter how well you treat them because your still going to kill them?
@@moisespascoal2559 look up Rabbit hutches/rabbit runs, and yes its for chickens too, you can also google chicken runs. but either will use the right materials for the quails. thank you for being a good human being and caring about their needs as a animal. generally you should ony have ten birds maximum per square meter, and they will lay all day in their "rabbit or chicken run" enclosure, but you would need to bring them back in to their "laying cage" if you want them safe at night and early morning from predators eg cats dogs
@@russell311000 yes, the quality of meat will change, once the bird has been stressed = in Australia and Germany this known very well, it changes the biochemistry of the meat, and increases chance of disease spread from birds to meat in these conditions. then you eat that tainted meat and can get very sick.covid came from bad bat meat not cooked properly. bird flu what you think came from? disease spreads in bad conditions, no matter how hard you clean the cage. the bird has the disease, and even constant antibiotics dont help just breed tougher unstoppable germs. its calle animal husbandry when farming, when you care for the animal you eat. I live in Australia, and used to live in Germany, and my quails are the best and are paid for in much higher price because of their taste and quality. I charge five time the price for my meat as its organic. they yield so so many eggs I have to give them away, they are so happy to lay for me! they get time to run every day, and I find after their run, that night and the next morning, way more than this video.. after their exercise they get down to laying good quality eggs! they lay so well its extraordinary!
He’s doing a good job. Thank you. I raise quail.
Nice in pakistan we love quail stay in touch
Let's go #FARMERS#WORLDWIDE WE HAVE TO FIGHT AS ONE!!!!
Sana po Mr. Dexter discuss nyo po on your next video about sanitation sa quail farming.
Very good more knowledge how to good make more eggs of pugo very nice…
Love you from india you teach me well and now I know more about farming
They r picking each other cause there r much too many quail in one cage and they cannot wonder around...actually very sad.
So sad what we do in the poor animals if you notice the equal legs it was shaking
I thought so too. Too many in one cage.
I doubt that he gives a shit... he's in it for the money. God gave man the dominion over the plants & animals, but with that gift Man is told to treat the plants & animals with respect & dignity. I won't watch this man anymore. His abuse is evident...
Thanks for your sharing.
I've seen this video before now I raised quail to.
At list give some freedom to this tiny birds the cage looks very congested...
Nice work dear I just want to see your setup for Quail means front and inside view of complete farm just for new people who want to start this business
