    A lot of effort, but worth it in the end! Lots of visual interest with all the figuring and mixing of colors. Love the green with the dark wood.

    Doug apart for the breakage, the outcome is fantastic 👏. The gold resembles inlets of a river flowing from the wood and with the green, reminds me of emeralds. Combined you struck it rich.🍻

    Absolutely wonderful piece Doug! Congratulations and oh, if I hadn't seen you repair it I would never have known. The Kintsugi has given me a wonderful approach for some explosions that I just haven't had the heart to throw out. Thanks for all you have taught me and for your humility when something doesn't go quite right.

    Well you fixed it good Doug! I quite like the fact that the gold doesn't join up over the top in places, it gives it a more organic look somehow. Beautiful job, nice save, love it!

    Really lovely, Doug. Excellent and ingenius repairs. It was pretty before it broke, but the kintsugi-style repairs just makes it all look like it was carved from an emerald in matrix. The gold is such an appropriate material for repairs.

    Yup, nicely done! Now, master the technique for filling cracks with resin. Had I not seen the final result on Instagram, cleaning out the inside like that had me fearfully waiting for something else to happen. I'm so glad this repaired so nicely for you, Doug.

    Have seen some of the Kintsugi style of art and it gets quite creative. I love geology and the gold mixed in looks like mineral veins in rock. Have you ever seen Septarian stone AKA Dragon Stone? The nodules are very cool looking and I bet you could replicate something like it with wood and resin. Like what you did here for sure.

    I love this save. I was going to ask about the other cracks in the wood and why you didn't do the gold in those, then I remembered you filled those in with the Starbond. Between you and Ken over at Moonpie I am always blown away and inspired to try new things. Again nice save and can't wait to see what else you have coming up.

    Awesome recovery Doug! I had never heard of this technique before! Damn I wish I had known about it. All those projects I have tossed or changed to small plates. THANK YOU!! I guess I should search you tube more for those kind of challenges. I love the color match up too! Really pulled the bark line into view too.

      Thank you Joe, I actually didn't know about it either until I blew up that last bowl I was working on and everyone suggested I look into it, this bowl was and easy fix so I thought I'd try it out on it first, I will be trying to fix the other bowl also soon.
