Beautiful video and I completely agree with you, Alice. Money cannot buy class and your explanation is spot on. Loved to know the difference between Parisian and French Chic with examples. I've always been attracted to the simplicity, timelessness, versatility, understated and effortless elegance of this style. Merci beaucoup pour votre conseil formidable ❤
Beautiful video Alice! Thank you!🙏🏼💝 To me French Chic is practical, minimalist but sophisticated and feminine. Comfort is super important for me but we also need to look presentable and clean. You’re right- vulgarity is not the way! Quality and class is always first!
Class is becoming an over used word. It really should be about self care and love. I notice more and more women are no longer preparing meals for the family or even themselves as our work culture has become unbalanced and more and more of us are finding fresh food overpriced and in some cases not plentiful compared to processed food which contains sugar and salt. When I was a child growing up in the UK I hardly knew or saw anyone who was over weight and now it is normal to see so many young women under 40 years of age terribly over weight. Vulgarity is pushed in our faces at every turn since sex sells and when it stops selling a return to modesty will be valued once more. French women from a young age have been brought up to value womanhood and generally do practice self care....and clothes & food is just a part of it......
When I wear a long button up or a blouse with tailored pants or pencil skirt everyone asks if I’m going to work. They are surprised when I reply no this is what I feel comfortable in and wear on my off days. It’s easy to be sun safe when wearing chic clothes and I feel more inspired to be productive. I’m working hard to instil self care and refinement into my children’s lives. Thank you for your videos especially from Australia.
French woman keep their figures, it makes such a difference! It’s sad seeing so many obese women here in the US, especially if they are very young. However talked up as fashionable “curves” might be, their self-esteem and confidence takes a huge hit and the extra weight takes at least a decade off their lives. I wish Americans wouldn’t promote such obesity, I love “body acceptance”, so long as it promotes a healthy weight and lifestyle, too. In my case, for example, have to accept that I’ll never have a very defined waist, but I do maintain a healthy weight. It’s not easy, but it it’s hardly impossible, either. Everyone who wants to: keep trying! It can take a while to find what works for you, but keep at it.
Agree! Most of all re weight and health. Thinking about it and our hunter gatherer ancestors sole purpose was to roam from place to place to find food. That is what food really is…sustenance. Not that we cannot treat ourselves once in a while, but when we overdo it all the time and/or have a high sugar & high junk/fast food diet, we loose the reason why we put food into our mouths, to nourish our bodies at a cellular level…to sustain us. I make most of what I eat (love to cook), and make sure I eat heavy fruits, vegetables and healthy fats, fish and mostly chicken & turkey meats. I’m 64 and 10 lbs within my goal weight, without exercise.
Ok but having curves is beautiful and it’s not the same as being overweight.. I don’t know why people conflate the two. If you are heavily overweight you do not have curves you’re just fat, curves require there to be a line that forms a peak and then curves downward to a valley, not just remain as a peak all the way through.
@@saludosalsol I do think it was unfortunate that the word 'curvy' became a politer word for fat - pushed by very overweight women. There are truly curvy women who are not fat - agree.
OMG Alice, you had to show the Kardashians and Jeff Bezos's fiancé, the cream of the crop of fashion faux pas in US. No one could showcase less taste, and people look up to these so called socialites. 🤔
It annoys me that small chested and under calorie eating bodies are celebrated as chic. The low v neck dress looks chic on a flat chested woman yet a full busted women is attacked as tacky. As someone with an hour glass figure yet a size 0 I will not cover my breast when the dress almost all dresses show cleavage
With soooooo many women losing their breasts to cancer, I find it distasteful that celebrities find it necessary to wear those revealing items. Do as I say but not as I do. 😢
Moms, grandmas, young, and old. Appropriate dressing is for EVERYONE. On this channel it’s about French style in particular, but everybody needs to make an effort when getting dressed!!
As an older woman with some life experience, I wish I could convey to the younger set that covering up your curves is way more “sexy” than the bare all look.
This is brilliant one of the best videos. Honest and simply great advice. Thank you.

Excellent video. I would love to hear more about nuance. I realize that is probably the hardest thing to explain and "teach," but that seems to be what sets apart French women chic from others.
I've been to Europe small cities and big cities. In less tourist areas, people dress very casually, and not so worried about the fashion. Same for U.S. I just came back from Chicago. In city center, all men and women looked incredible in their wardrobe. Stylish and yet simple. I've also seen many women in Paris wear very provocative clothing. Outside of Milan also. Small city: jeans, t-shirts, and leggings. So, it's very very subjective.
I would love to see your beautiful Mom and Grandma in their French chic outfits! I’m closer to your Mom’s age than yours, but I love your style, so I’m sure I’ll love theirs, too. My French colleagues I worked with 40 years ago, that always looked so great, were probably the biggest influence on my own style, I remember everything they taught me. Their outfits were simple and elegant and they said they actually had quite small, but classic, wardrobes, and everything was beautiful quality. I love watching style videos by chic, genuine, French women like you.🙂
I left you a long detailed comment and I don't know what happened to it, but what I said was, I grew up in Southern California and my mother and my grandmother would NEVER leave the house unless they were dressed up, made up and accessorized, no matter where they went. So from a young age I picked up on that and once I was older, I would never leave the house not put together. Maybe part of it was insecurity in that I always felt the need to wear makeup and look my best, but I just never would let that go. When I had both of my children in the hospital I had makeup on and when people saw the pictures, they thought it was rather interesting to say the least lol... most of them said, wow, you looked fabulous, I looked a wreck when I gave birth! At younger age I was one of those people who dressed overly sexy until right as I was hitting 50 years old. That is when I started to desire a more classy and dignified look. I renovated my wardrobe and started to take on a much more classy and chic style. I'm 55 now and so I'm happy to see this type of content as it is harder for us women as we age to accept that we're not as young as we used to be and that dressing overly sexy is not as ideal anymore. My grandma lived to 92 and my mother is 92 now but transitioned to a nursing home last year. Just a few months before she went in there, I took her see her dentist and when I picked her up to go, she was dressed to the nines, accessorized with all her jewelry, makeup everything, as if we were going to shop on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills! And for the record, we've NEVER shopped there! Anyway, I am encouraged to see these elegant women in your videos, especially your mom and grandmother! Merci, mon amie, for always sharing this wonderful content with all of us...I'll look forward to the next video! 🥰🥂
Alice, you always look chic and beautiful. You bring such a great sense of beauty and style into your videos. I like watching them. I also bought Annick Goutal perfume after seeing your video and I am so happy with the scent. It’s uncomfortable. Take care
Actually, nowadays Italian women dress in a much more stylish and elegant way than French women...I particularly found nothing so elegant and stylish in the streets of Paris when I was there...
What some consider boring is the elegant and classic style. The so call fashionable chic is just fashion. Having style and looking fashionable are two different things. Fashion changes and fades, style is eternal. I rather have style and be elegant.
It's not just the clothes, the figure, the hair style or the jewelry but body language. I saw a woman walking in the airport with a trench coat and an LV Neverfull. I noticed the way she flung her hair and the way she walked. Yes, she was French, despite the Monogram Neverfull, that apparently (according to some) French women never carry.
What? How can that be there! are a lot of brands in Australia we aren't a third-world country, we have everything here depending how much you want to spend.
I always wonder if French women do/ do not consider color theory? as in some people look horrible in cold colors, others in warm colors. I'm a winter type, I do well with dark, intense, cold colors. If I wear camel I look way older and sickish. How can I combine these concepts?
Love your channel and videos. I've always loved Audrey Hepburn's style. Although she was not French, she definitely had French style. Not sure why so many young women fall into trends, ie. piercings and tattoos. Unfortunately the latest trend that I now see everywhere on 20 something women (and young men) is the septum piercing. This is probably the most unflattering trend, but at least it can be removed without permanent damage. I live in the US and Americans are very lazy when it comes to dressing and style. I see teens going to school in their pajamas. Seems like it all went down hill when work places started allowing casual Friday's.
Money definitely does not buy you class! Staying fit and toned seems to help the clothes look better. Many of the women in this video are very thin but I recommend being fit and healthy rather than trying to attain hard to achieve weight goals that affect your quality of life, especially when you get older. Eat healthy and exercise! My mother said in her day many of her clothes were tailored and structured to fit her as there was no elastic for stretch so you didn't overeat. Your clothes told you when to stop eating. We Americans also over shop and don't invest in good quality clothes that will last for decades. That's why I love Agnes B. My mother, daughter and I all buy from there and I still have pieces from over 20 years ago that my daughter and nieces have their eye on.
Not everyone wants to be chic. Everyone has right to wear what they want. Clothes should be a reflection of ourselves. And here is another French girl that says she hates "Parisian girl" stereotype xD and I can agree with her, on the streets of ,Paris you can see vast diversity, different cultures and I think ,it s beautiful. If everyone would look the sq,e the world would be boring. And I'm not saying Parisian chic is bad, NO, I also love it and sometimes I'm in the mood for such vibe but not always, some people never :)
Alice can you please make a video reacting to all those Russian girls with extreme volume hair getting out of their Rolls Royce cars in Monaco, thank you very much. 🌟
. Première chose dans ma journée : me laver, soigner ma peau, me coiffer.
When someone goes to the hair dresser once a week what is the cost? Getting a good hair cut costs me $150-180 with tip (I’m in Toronto) is this what French women pay weekly???
In slight defense of the Kardashians, I don’t think they care about being “classy” or “chic”, I’ve never heard them express a desire for that. They want to do projects, make $$ and be famous whilst guarding their privacy. Also that blouse at 2:19 is beautiful.
What part of France are you from? I’m very interested in Normandie and Brittany, where it’s cooler and I’m thinking of renting there for a summer to see some of the country and to escape the brutal California heat. I’m planning to treat my niece, who just graduated from university, to a trip to Paris, at least, then on to Greece, where our Dad is from. Sadly, at almost 95, he’s now too old and frail to accompany us, but naturally, he will advise us. Do you have any recommendations for non-hot summer locations in France?
Class is in mannerisms how you present yourself and how you treat others. The problem with women now is they have this boss woman attitude and they think that thier bodies is thier only weapon and thats not true. Stay classy ladies. ❤much love from Doll.
I'm so glad that the French continue the 'yardstick' of class, because though I'm British, I have French ancestry, and it must be in my DNA, as from being very young (7 or 8yrs old), I've gravitated to all things French, not just style but the whole culture. The dress code as a young woman in Britain was never as revealing as it is today and now as a 61 year old, I am horrified at how people leave the house. This is not a vanity thing, but respect for one's self, to have dignity for yourself raises the spirit and ripples out. The 'comfortable in our own skin' should translate as caring for yourself, so as others realise they should care also for themselves. That elusive quality the French have is that they are fiercely proud of who they are without undermining others, they are true to themselves and embrace age as it should be, because life is for living and celebrating who we are and shining that light in the world. When we neglect ourselves we are in a low state which doesn't translate well into the world. Show-casing our look, shows others they are important too, it inspires them to take care of themselves and everything around them....and that is why it goes far deeper than clothing, it's a psychological effect and that's the 'je ne ce quoi' that eludes so many that view the French Style.
Very interesting. I have to say though, I finally got to Paris a few years ago. Found absolutely nothing special about how the woman dress, in fact they were rather bland. Top spots for fashion, chic, and attractive women are Toronto, New York, Tel Aviv, Rome, Dubai.
Parisians all dress the same, no imagination . A long held false myth that they are ALL well dressed. "French women can be chic but British have class" said Karl Largerfeld and he should know. Best dressed are ITALIAN by FAR !!!
The French women are gorgeous. However the fashion industry is very expensive to afford. Thank you for pointing out that we have a lot of options and don’t have to pay thousands for purse!
Love French fashion. The French look so elegant without having to do the most unlike us Americans. Also, a lot of French people put effort into maintaining their figures unlike Americans who think it’s ok to be obese. It can make Americans look frumpy in clothes.
I totally agree that less is more and wearing every single logo made to man and woman in an outfit looks awful. I bought my first pair of pearl earrings about 3 years ago and wear them every single day. While I do have bags with logo, I find I do not reach for them a lot and tend to use bags that the logo is either not visible or discrete. Social Media shows an unrealistic image of how you should dress, wrists full of Cartier, van clef bracelet and the desperate attempts of women trying to Birkin to Kelly bag. What has the world come to .
I enjoyed your video. I agree that women do not look chic or stylish being half naked. It bothers me on lady skaters. Some of their dresses are ridiculously scant.
There is nothing wrong with looking sexy, but it has to be done with class at the same time. I am certain that Sanchez's gown was expensive, but although she is really physically fit, the gown was not right for her body type. She should opt for something more sexy and elegant.
I have to agree this time that Sanchez woman always runs around in what looks exactly like a nightgown. I'm so embarrassed for her. I don't know is she thinks people are jealous of her but really we're just embarrassed
All that matters is that she likes it and her man does too. Lauren is minding her business. She’s not the jealous one on UA-cam hating strangers who are just living their lives. 😂😂😂
@@lindsayo9702 she wore a nightgown to the White House. That's very disrespectful. So what if her man likes to see her and honest that tells you that's just great. That's still zero class
What’s classy about gossiping on UA-cam about strangers? That woman has helped more people than you ever will. And doesn’t go around talking about it like others do. That’s classy.
You mean to say that Bezos has really bad, poor taste with Lauren as girlfriend. Lauren was better looking before she got the plastic surgeries and don't know why she's looking bigger and bigger with huge thighs like she eats 100s of burritos daily, and such huge butt for a woman who has leisure time to work out.
Not to sound like a hater, but I really don't get the hype around this 'French chic' thing-it’s honestly nothing special. With all due respect, Italian women, with their perfectly tailored clothes and timeless dresses, are the true embodiment of elegance and class.
Your going to Compare and label them and insult all American women as this ? Thats as stereotypical as saying all Parisian women dress chic cause lets be real i have seen plenty of Parisian girls dressed pretty inappropriate
How would you define French chic today and what do you do everyday to look chic and elegant? let me know ! xoxo Alice
So nice to see older women in this video. Thank you for that and thank you to your mom for being a part of it. 🌹
This is the most elegant roast someone has made about Lauren, Kim, and others.

. Première chose dans ma journée : me laver, soigner ma peau, me coiffer.
merci :)
When someone goes to the hair dresser once a week what is the cost?
Getting a good hair cut costs me $150-180 with tip (I’m in Toronto) is this what French women pay weekly???
@@ER-yu2kd hello I get once a month an haircut and every week a blowdry. Blowdry is 50 euros
@@KimberlyPerrotis brittany and biarritz, le touquet atlantic ocean part is cooler. sables d'olonne also chic and nice
Class is in mannerisms how you present yourself and how you treat others.
The problem with women now is they have this boss woman attitude and they think that thier bodies is thier only weapon and thats not true.
Stay classy ladies.
❤much love from Doll.
Grandma is adorable
A style can be done ,with money too.
Money may not buy class, but it can buy you whatever you want.
Wonderful video.
Lovely, thank you 👋😁❤❤❤
Very interesting. I have to say though, I finally got to Paris a few years ago. Found absolutely nothing special about how the woman dress, in fact they were rather bland. Top spots for fashion, chic, and attractive women are Toronto, New York, Tel Aviv, Rome, Dubai.
I agree. Booooring. Looks goid on You tube though. But real life, meh...
Very interesting video ! Alice is totally right with her chic and casual old money style !love love 💕
@@hb4687 but there are other Europeans who dress well too. Check out the Croatian ladies, ladies from Madrid for instance
Cut, fit, detail.

I love it 🥰
Love French fashion. The French look so elegant without having to do the most unlike us Americans. Also, a lot of French people put effort into maintaining their figures unlike Americans who think it’s ok to be obese. It can make Americans look frumpy in clothes.
absolutely right, cheap looking comes from lack of proper education at home as well as in the schools
No the French girls I saw didn’t have much class. You’re comparing women with class to the ones that do not in every culture
Lauren Sanchez is so tacky!!
The French women grow up with style. It's a part of their culture ! American entertainers like Kadashian or J Lo will never get that !😂
I enjoyed your video. I agree that women do not look chic or stylish being half naked. It bothers me on lady skaters. Some of their dresses are ridiculously scant.
And what about female athletes in events who wear such short shorts - halfway up their backsides.
@@saffanna725 Yes, them too!!
It’s obvious the guy with the cash likes this and it’s safe to say he doesn’t give a shit about French woman and what they wear
Thank you❣I live in germany and many women are going out without make up and in slumpy clothes, horrible.
I love french chic 🫶👗have a nice sunday.
Vous avez raison. Presque toute les jeunes habillés vraiment mal. Leave being almost nude pour la plage. Merci!
There is nothing wrong with looking sexy, but it has to be done with class at the same time. I am certain that Sanchez's gown was expensive, but although she is really physically fit, the gown was not right for her body type. She should opt for something more sexy and elegant.
She's not fit looking, she looks huge and big, not toned. Those thighs are huge.
Just going by the title…money does not buy a real sense of style either. Style & class go together.
I don't think they really want to look classy by wearing those revealing outfits and that's okay. Not everyone wants to look classy.
*colours. Unless you prefer American English
More on your mom and grandma!
AMEN
❤❤❤
Lauren Sanchez doesn't look like she flies helicopters, yet she does.
good for her, yet money does not buy class
@@Aliceinparisofficialperfect answer
@@AliceinparisofficialShe is an embarrassment. So trashy.
What’s classy about gossiping on UA-cam about strangers?
That woman has helped more people than you ever will. And doesn’t go around talking about it like others do. That’s classy.
@@lindsayo9702 helping others 😂😂😂😂 well it has nothing to do with beign chic
This is more about parisian Chic because in Cannes, it is a different story... it is a lot about all fake.
I don't think wearing a blouse opened so low you can see the bra is chic, even in Paris.
I think that woman has bad tastes but Amazon ‘s Boss is worse to choose her.
Love is beyond chic most women shown in the video are just normal
Not to sound like a hater, but I really don't get the hype around this 'French chic' thing-it’s honestly nothing special. With all due respect, Italian women, with their perfectly tailored clothes and timeless dresses, are the true embodiment of elegance and class.
A large portion of Hollywood seems to equal porn. At least, that is how they dress on the red carpet, on stage, and in their music videos.
Jeff Bezos with this one?
True that money does not buy class.
French women are no more or less chic of any other women🧐
Parisiennes are!
For a country that claims to be chic what the hell happened at the opening and closing ceremony of the Olympics? Everything was trashy
@@melmak4108 I made a video about it ;)

They’re wearing the same what another country wears Lol
To be nudes is not bueaty

Compare and label them and insult all American women as this ? Thats as stereotypical as saying all Parisian women dress chic cause lets be real i have seen plenty of Parisian girls dressed pretty inappropriate
