Elegance is about attitude and these basic dressing rules. Being basic or casual (always check the manucure hein) is not elegant but wearing a designer bags will not help you either. Do you agree with me?
Good evening Alice, I really enjoy the videos you post. Specially this one, I agree with everything. I am happy you brought on the topic of designer bags, personally I also find that most of the designer brands have lost their elegance. I love how feminine and elegant you are. In my opinion that is how women should be, that is how I was brought up. I find it very beautiful when women are truly in touch with their feminine energy. Wish you the best and I am looking forward to the next video.
I think context does matter but she’s is obviously not talking about when you go to the gym or a walk in the park. I think people have the ability to understand context. No one is going to watch this and think “yep! I’ll wear heels to my yoga class”
@@Aliceinparisofficial well exactly Alice. Adding a designer bag to a sports bra and sweat pants look isn't going to elevate it. I mean you can force your cat to wear a tiny tutu but that won't turn her into a ballerina, will it?
Thank you!!! I always tell my children “ if you want to stand out in this world, then look put together”. It’s so uncommon, being unique means putting on actual pants. My 17 year old went to a job interview at a grocery store and he dressed up. The man interviewing him was impressed and said that no one does that. I was even more impressed because I didn’t tell him to, he did it on his own. I must be doing something right!😃.
Really depends on the job though . Dressing up can backfire in a job interview where you have to do some real work like construction. My dad said he wore dress pants and when he called back to ask about the interview they literally mentioned how the pants said I don’t know what I’m doing.
Well done mom 😁👍. Hopefully he got the job 😊. I'm trying to explain this to my almost 10 year old daughter, I am a firm believer in being comfortable in your clothes, but that doesn't mean wearing sweatpants everywhere 😂.
How wonderfully refreshing to come across a content creator who says it as it is without any fear of losing or not gaining subscribers. I think everyone has a right to express their opinion while at the same time, respecting other people’s opinions. It’s OK to respectfully disagree, but it is not OK to be rude which is what many people do nowadays hiding behind a keyboard. Bravo, Alice!
Very nice video, you are so kind. But your review would have been better if you had done it with a *suluxy* bag, mark my words, you would have been blown away.
Yazi in all honesty if I were to get a replica I wouldn’t even feel bad about it because I couldn’t even see the difference in theee bags, ubani who will keep scrutinising the bags to see if real or replica *gtdupe*
I love your advice. I am 53 and love elegance. I get dressed up to have a morning coffee. I live in Australia, and the people here wear their fitness clothes all day. I long to visit Paris. Thank you for your channel.❤️
Exactly! I am a professional in authentication. But I have some sense of ending a Chanel era. They are just everywhere, prices are insane, but so many complaints on quality issues.. *gtdupe*
I'm 49 seconds into this video, i have already noticed that you have great hair, minimal makeup and your nails are short and painted. Those simple things immediately make you look elegant and it shows that you care about your appearance. I agree with you, people don't put effort into looking nice, much less elegant, you don't have to spend a lot of time or money to look elegant.
I live close to the Mexico border. I always go for *suluxy* , their quality is great. Some of them are made with leather and really hard to tell the difference from real or not. Either way, it’s your choice. No judgement from me
“If you’re offended… my big French accent… please move on to…” Alice, well said 👏! Every time you post a video, I watch it several times. I can’t agree with you more.
I have no pity for the luxury houses. Greedy AF. I can easily afford luxury, but even so, I wouldn't buy real with the 50% price hikes in the last couple years. *suluxy*
I have one *gtdupe* bag I got in 2019, it's the LV white catogram speedy. It's counter quality and it has a nice honey patina now, so the leather is real. I think whatever makes you happy go for it. I've seen LV with plastic leather and blood red glaze..
@@baby.nay. good manners and etiquette goes back further than 100 years, but if you are only looking at clothing that has always been constantly changing , so it becomes impossible to say that it will always be a classic, maybe in a lifetime, but even that is too long. The world evolves and so must our way of living in it, so fashion is never going to be stationary.
I love your videos. I wish the French style would come to Canada and the U.S. I am so tired of seeing tattoos, multiple piercings, and distressed jeans. I am learning so much from your videos, and I love your beautiful accent.
Totally agree! Elegance/dressing well is no longer important for most ppl in the US. Leggings and ripped jeans are everywhere, tattoos, logo bags… That’s why I love going to Europe, where elegance and sophistication remain prevalent.
I love you Alice, unapologetic about your opinions right out the gate. It’s so refreshing to see. If someone doesn’t like your opinion they can go to a different channel. Also if someone doesn’t like your authentic French accent on a channel about French style they can also move on. I love your voice and your accent. I love the authentic perspective you give as a person from France, living in Paris and having lived a time in the US for true experience in comparison.
i don't agree with #9 - shapewear is not elegant. on the contrary, i think inesthetic lumps and bumps are far less elegant, so shapewear can help with that, as long as you wear it *underneath* your clothes and don't go around wearing shapewear only. wearing shapewear as clothes is what makes it not elegant
Agree. I would go one step further and suggest that, even if a woman is wearing shapewear as an undergarment, if she's wearing an outfit that is so tight and bodycon that you can *tell* she's wearing shapewear, it renders the entire look inelegant.
@@janetyamashige9573 when it comes to bodycon dresses (those are the most problematic ones), i think the material of the dress is very important - a very thin, see-through material looks very cheap and vulgar. similarly, the body shape of the person wearing the bodycon dress is also important, just like a plunging neckline - when someone with a flat chest is wearing it, it can be chic; but when someone with a DD cup is wearing it, it looks vulgar, like things are spilling. very tight but thick materials will suck you in; very thin ones will just show everything underneath
We can agree to disagree and acknowledge that not everyone wants to look elegant all the time. Sometimes women want to look edgy, comfortable, relaxed or unique. The most important thing is that everyone feels comfortable in their own style, whatever it may be.
For a long time, as the price of Chanel increased, I no longer thought I could afford it. I think I'll be happy that I have the *gtdupe* as my travel bag that I don't have to take care of. By the way, I'm sure no one will have a hard time telling the difference. Thanks for the comparison.
I absolutely agree. I am 70 and my mother, though Dutch was of French decent. She kept her look very simple, classic and elegant. Little or no jewelry, red lipstick to go out and that´s it. I have the same taste. I shop second hand most of the time and often get remarks on how elegant I look. It is not about the price. It is about the quality and the choice.
I'm a personal stylist in Chicago and most of my friends consider me to be very "old school". I advise clients on seasonal rules and have opposed the casualization of America since casual Fridays were introduced in the mid '90s. And I would never ever under any circumstances, knowingly allow someone to mark their body permanently. ⚓ So I was surprised that I didn't agree with all your points but I certainly respect them.
Lovely presentation! We American women of a certain age should listen. My German mother always said, “Dress as you want to be treated….then behave the part!” Being rude, demanding and loud will ruin the most elegant outfit.
Elegance is to me a state of the soul. Looking vs being elegant are two very different things. To be truly elegant a woman need to have a deep and ingrained RESPECT for herself and others. That inner attitude then reflects outwardly on all the choices she makes (wardrobe, speaking, body language, interactions, management of emotions, etc). I had the fortune to live in the building next to Audrey Hepburn in Rome when I was very young. We live next to a park called Villa Balestra and we would see her walking there often. I will never forget her beauty. She was a mature woman wearing a simple coat, glasses and with a hat and still stand out from the crowd. What made Audrey especially elegant was her kindness and gracefulness when interacting with others (from the head of a Consulate, to the building guard, to someone like my mom who was just enamored by her and would say Hi whenever she could.)
Love the video Alice, ignore the rest of the viewers who have nothing else to do but add negative vibes when you are sharing elegance and fashion. I love going to France, love french food, love the accent and I also want to learn french. Love your elegant outfit in this video ❤from London.
I agree on every single point. My husband is the most elegant gentleman, and he has 1 tattoo, a nickname his father gave him in his handwriting somewhere relatively hidden (behind the ear) . He got it days after his father passed away. Like you said, it wasn’t for aesthetic purposes. I always wanted a tattoo but thankfully never got it
Yes yes yes!! Thank you; I couldn't agree more with what you are saying. So few people know how to dress elegantly anymore, and even fewer are talking about it (so thank you for that! 🙏). The fashion trends in recent years have become hideous, and I'm sick of it. I'm eagerly waiting for elegance to return to the mainstream!
I believe all the elegance rules you mention have been universal all over the world. However, recently they are fading away. Thank you for spreading knowledge in this matter. Greetings from Poland ❤
Great tips Alice. I am so sorry you even have to address those who comment on your accent. Your voice and way of speaking is one of the reasons why I watch! Your voice and videos have a very ASMR quality, so elegant and calming. Your command of the English is impressive, as I understand English is difficult to learn. I find you easier to understand than some Americans that have been speaking English their whole lives and only speak one language! lol.
And sadly, many Americans don’t speak English very well even though it is the only language they speak. (I’m American but gratefully speak French & Spanish too so I’m very aware how difficult it is to master a language.) The horrible grammar of the average American makes me cringe. You don’t need to use polysyllabic words to be elegant but holy moly, basic grammatical concepts (good vs well, I vs me (many overcorrect and think if they use “I”, it’s automatically correct🤪), went vs gone)… Yet some have the audacity to criticize someone’s accent, which truly just epitomizes their own lack of elegance.
@@marticooper4468I completely agree! The total disregard for proper grammar is shocking. Speaking of accents, don’t get me started on the epidemic of the Kardashian inspired vocal fry! 😂
I loved this video. I believe we can all benefit from a reminder of what it means to have class and elegance. No one dresses up for anything anymore, and it saddens me. That is not my style at all. I love looking smart and put together no matter what I am doing. Thank you so much for your thoughts.❤
I live in Toronto and my daughter and I are visiting Paris in a few days (me for the 3rd time) and I love your videos. My heart is in France and appreciate the French aesthetic. Key word is 'class'. ❤
I have tattoos they are a form of expression. I have always loved the classics but they never seemed to work for my life style worked in retail, hospital, stay at home mom, etc. Now that I work in an office I try my best to dress nicely. But I do have to say that sometimes basics is what I need. My environment does not require me to be dress to the nine. I also need to move around etc. What I have worked on for the last few 5 years is getting out of leggings and comfortable clothes. I “dressed” for running errands and going out with my husband. Even if it’s wearing jeans I style the clothes, layer, add jewelry and make a point to wear make up. I switch out my bags, etc. in the summer I have summer dresses that I love to wear as a refreshing change for the denim. I think you make a lot of fine points and as an American love your channel it’s refreshing. Thank you
People will take offense to the tattoo and piercing comments, but I fully agree. So glad I never got any or had any desire for them even at my most rebellious self.
When I see someone with a tattoo from a distance, my body feels a shock. My initial reaction is, “what happened to their skin? Is it an injury, a disfiguring birthmark, a wound of some kind, a stain?” This reaction is not a positive one. First impressions count. Why would anyone trust a stranger to mark up their skin permanently?
@@melissac.5948 I've heard men insult tattoos and get offended when I refused to date them for .... also having tattoos. Hey, I don't have them, so they couldn't even call me a hypocrite! It was funny that they felt this never applied to men? I find them repulsive.
I totally agree with everything! Finally, someone said it out loud: the designer logo bags became tacky. And the cigarettes. The generation of my parents and grandparents, who were young in the 1960s and 1970s, smoked pretty heavily, but even at that time, walking around with a cigarette was extremely tacky and cheap for women. My mom told me: if you really have to smoke a cigarette, sit down in a cafe and order a coffee. Of course, nowadays, most people do not smoke anymore.
Alice, I totally agree with your list. People have literally become followers, very few people want to stand out as different unless it's over the top for the purpose of getting attention. The little side video of the girls parading into a club was horrific! Personal style has been replaced with copycats. Bravo to you for saying it!
I learned to dress properly by emulating the ladies in my family. My mother was petite, never wore too much jewelry. She had lovely clothing. I am petite like my mother, less is more for someone slim and petite. I wear tailored clothing, a piece of two of small fine Jewelry, a light scent. Skin care and good grooming enhance your appearance. I save my sweat pants for the garden and chores around my home, taking care of my snakes and my cat. I am 74 now and like to make a good impression. Love Blazers, straight leg pants and jeans, scarves on occasion. Also carry a small bag, love vintage leather, I favour shoulder bags without big logos. No to fake anything. So glad I never needed Plastic Surgery.
Totally agree with all points you have made !! ❤👏👏 Plus, I am glad that someone addressed this topic. I am astonished how not-elegant or even vulgar our pop-culture become during recent years…. it is so sad that so many young girls feel the need to look lika a gangsta or stripper to be “trendy” 😢😢
It’s as if those young women only feel their value is in their wearing of sexy clothing . Where is their self esteem and self respect ? Why weren’t they taught by their mothers to dress well? Feminists fought for women to be taken seriously in the world, and now it seems we’ve gone back 50 years!
@@hiannahgus574 welll… your are right, but unfortunately nowadays girls do not look up to mothers. They look at instagram or tick-tok….this is a tragic consequence of pupularity of those platforms. 🥺
It’s the only refreshing video I’ve seen all day Your tips are classic common sense loved them and will definitely buy some of the jewelry thank you 🙏🏼
I LOVE that you state your opinion directly. It is 💯 on point that if someone doesn’t agree with your views, then they can move along to another video / channel. I’ve never understood non-religious / non-cultural tattoos. Aside from the fact that you’re branding yourself pretty permanently, what will those tattoos look like on older skin?! 😳 Yikes. Would I wear the same outfit every day for the rest of my life… NON. So then how could I commit to these illustrations. (btw my friend is a cosmetic surgeon who spends 85% of her time removing tattoos.)
When my son was in college, I told him he should become an aesthetician…….he’d have never ending clients when the tattoo fad ended. But apparently it’s only getting worse.
I have tattoos, and I am an elegant woman. Elegance is a state of mind above all else. Clothes alone cannot work miracles or transform a person, but attitude is a gold mine.
@@seabreeze4559why not?! We should be able to recognize our own talents and qualities, nothing wrong with her saying that’s she’s elegant, good for her
Love the video agree with almost everything but a delicate sun kissed light fake tan in spring and summer makes me feel better about myself. Just my thoughts on this subject!
I agree with every point you’ve made. Elegance is not showiness. You’re a beautiful woman with lovely skin & hair, and I’d love to see you in a less severe hairstyle, something just a little softer. Thank you for your wonderful video & hard work!
I love your channel and the fact that you are consistent with your views. Hope more women find your channel cos we need to bring classic chic and elegance back.
Idk how I ended up here. I appreciate this version or standard of elegance but the world is so big and full of beauty and elegance presented in different ways.
Hello Alice, thank you for another great video! I totally agree with you and thank you for showing courage and addressing these points. I am so looking forward to your next videos!
I just discovered your channel! I love it! What you say is often what I think about too. Thank you for the reminders and practical advice. Consumerism has caused people to forget how to be elegant.
I agree with all 10 points. And elegance is more than this. It is an attitude and it doesn't depend on money. Thanks for the video and greetings from Germany 😀
@@verapurrio5462Certainly elegance is not something you can buy, and it’s not synonymous with luxury either. But like most things in life, it is much easier to achieve with money. Come to think of it, I believe that what you’re describing is closer to something like “dignity.” That’s the part that is indispensable.
I still love the Chanel classic flap. A medium worn neat under the shoulder, chain doubled up, arm conceals the logo. Bottega I also love atm - worth investing in.
Dear Alice! I found your page only yesterday and find you and your videos absolutely STUNNING and invaluable. Your classiness is infatuating and contagious! I really like fashion, but live in the suburbs of Chicago and fell into the habit of "what would people say when I go grocery shopping in elegant clothes", but your videos are very close to changing that :))
New sub here! I love learning about everyone’s perspectives on elegance as I piece together my own personal interpretation of elegance ❤️ I love adding my own personal twist on classic styles; videos like yours are so helpful!
Thank you for your suggestions. My mother was born in Spain and moved to Mexico when she was nine. My mother did not like tattoos so, I see them on other people with respect but I have never considered one for me.
love this video.. thank you for sharing. My mother was very wise that when I was a teenager staring to buy my own clothes, she suggested to buy one very expensive shirt over 10 cheap shirts. And that applied to my entire wardrobe. Best advise ever and has served me well me my entire life. ( 68 years young) I also worked at a major Airline in Canada and you would not BELIEVE what some people would wear to travel in....was shocking actually ... barefoot in crocs and PJ's. And on the aircrafts would take off the crocs and barefoot go to the lavatories... ewwwwww are u kidding me??????
I’m from Australia and agree with everything on this list. My South East Asian mother and grandmother taught me exactly the same 😉 and I will be passing these opinions on to my daughter (who is half French) 🙏
I grew up partly in south East Asia and I think with European women, Asian women are the most elegant women there is. So not surprised your mom taught you the tricks ;-)
I love that you speak about the truth ❤ Nowadays people have misconceptions about clothing and do things according to the trend sometimes I feel am outdated 😂 after I listened to what you mentioned I think that I realized that I am always elegant. Yes, I am
Yes!!! I agree! Also love your accent and your English is beautiful!!But I have a French uncle and grew up listening to him speak. Also… IDK why … here in the US, we have so many young women.. especially moms that have full arm sleeve tattoos. And it does not look in the slightest bit elegant. I’m actually put off by it. But I also see lots of women from the UK with time too, also the shaved head and crazy hair colors too. I’m not telling someone not to do those things… I’m just saying that it doesn’t look elegant.
I agree completely! The strange thing is that many colleagues and people in general think that I must be too uptight or boring because I don’t have any tattoos or extra piercings.
I agree on most of your opinions on elegance. But I don’t agree with simplicity is not elegant. I think it depends on your lifestyle. When you become a mom, simplicity, practicality and comfort is the way to go. I am a mom to three kids 10 and under. I used to wear heels and skirts to work in my previous life before kids. I also owned so many tote bags and shoulder handbags for work. Ever since becoming a mom, I love athletic leisure wardrobe, comfy chic looking tennis sneakers, and MZ Wallace lightweight crossbody bags that I can toss around. I have only started going back to Vanessa Bruno tote bags a few months ago when my youngest is finally in second grade. I would say we have to be realistic on our lifestyle. After all, most of us are not Victoria Beckham who can run around in heels at the parks. Honestly, I will be laughing at a mom wearing heels , no arch support ballet flats and expensive cashmere and silk pieces to a park or to some kids birthday events chasing after their kids and doing a bunch of other mommy duties. How do you walk up the stairs with a stroller, diaper bag, and kids looking all posh? There it goes with that beautiful silk dress when your kid puts their dirty fingers on you because shit happens regularly when you are a mom.
I also believe that elegant ladies never say “look expensive”. Expense is a term associated with OBJECTS that are for purchase. There’s a subtle implication that an expensive woman can be bought, and it is very difficult for me mentally to separate that from sex work.
I agree with you on all points mentioned. However, for me that has nothing to do with “elegance” at all. for me it's a question of style. A sporty casual look can also be very tasteful. I associate elegance with a look for older conservative women.
Exactly! Additionally, people can go for elegance at times but it's not for everyone to go for elegance 100% of the time. It doesn't have to be all or nothing. I agree with the points in this video as well but I'm 100% with you on your take.
I agree on most of the points, but invisible shapewear under an elegant dress is a must at a certain age, even if you're slim and welltrained.- Im sure french women wear a lot shapewear, the example shown is not typical for the use of shapewear. - Also French elegant women use fake tan at their legs in summer, they just use it in a descrete way, not from white to brown skin, just a really minimal change of skin tone.
The shapewear was the only thing I didn’t understand, unless it’s the only thing worn, like Kim Kardashian ( one of the least elegant women walking the earth). Shapewear is for under clothing, like lingerie, so the clothes look more smooth and lay beautifully.
i love it you are right with all the points i worked in top designer boutique and my style never change always like europen woman and thank you for sharing with us merci
I subscribe to everything you are teaching except for the shoes. I am 48 years old and refuse to cram my foot into the elegant ideal. I have bunions and refuse to further ruin my feet for society or men. At this time in my life I will be as elegant and classic as I can, but refuse to compromise on shoes. I need a thick sole, and will only wear wide shoes and wedges. Heels I will wear for job interviews and fancy work events that is it. I will NOT crush my toes and further exacerbate my bunions. My Mother grew up poor and only wore improper shoes. She had bunions on both feet and had to have pins...HELL TO THE NO! Women of today deserve to be educated on proper footware...no one needs elegance at the risk of destroying their feet!
Quite right! I read in Hello magazine that Queen Letizia (51) of Spain had to remain seated at a state banquet when receiving guests due to chronic metatarsalgia (pain in the ball of the foot) - in both of her feet. This was caused by wearing high heels for extended periods. She is now wearing more comfy flats when possible.

i see the French girls are very natural with their nails and make-up us american girls not so much lol i appreciate your ways mindset and honesty i will be taking a page from your book madam!
I totally agree with you. Less is more, and unfortunately, big brands that used to represent the French elegance and chic are using extreme marketing, targeting young and wealthy customers who think wearing a big Chanel logo is cool. I just can't buy any designer's bag. I way prefer high-quality and more discreet French brands such as Le Tanneur, or Moynat. Merci for your videos, as a French woman, they really speak to me 😉!
Some of your comments I can agree with, others I do not. Personally, I have never been a fan of the word classy. I prefer understated and classic , clean terms. I am a minimalist and do enjoy dabbling in new and interesting style options, if they work with my style and taste. I think that you missed one particular aspect of an elegant mindset, how a woman represents herself not just by her clothing, but her attitude towards others. Oh, and I will always enjoy a good relationship with matching sweatsuits and classic adidas footwear.😊
Love this video👌the only thing I like to ask is you mentioned tall, slim lots of time with elegant! So short and little over weight cant be elegant??that’s not fair
As one who is short and fat-ish, I have to agree with Alice. We will look appropriate and well dressed. People will praise our outfits but ultimately we will never “look”elegant, simply because clothes are designed and manufactured for taller and slimmer women. Off the rack clothes just don’t flatter nor fit us. What will always elevate us however, is the attitude of kindness, politeness and respect that Alice always mention in her videos.😏
Nothing they said was arrogant. You can’t just throw the word arrogant around because you disagree with it. That’s immature. Unfortunately she’s right. The most elegant body type is the one that looks the healthiest. Being tall or short is nothing to do with elegance. But if you’re underweight or overweight, there’s nothing elegant about that. Because it means you don’t show consideration for your health! Elegance is about consideration.

I have one *gtdupe* bag I got in 2019, it's the LV white catogram speedy. It's counter quality and it has a nice honey patina now, so the leather is real. I think whatever makes you happy go for it. I've seen LV with plastic leather and blood red glaze..
Timeless is best. Ultimately, elegance comes from within, how you carry yourself and how you treat others.
Absolutely! Timeless elegance truly stems from one’s character and the way they treat others.
When people think timeless they don’t go back farther than 100 years … what does that really mean ?
@@baby.nay. good manners and etiquette goes back further than 100 years, but if you are only looking at clothing that has always been constantly changing , so it becomes impossible to say that it will always be a classic, maybe in a lifetime, but even that is too long.
I love the authentic perspective you give as a person from France, living in Paris and having lived a time in the US for true experience in comparison.
thank you :)
i don't agree with #9 - shapewear is not elegant. on the contrary, i think inesthetic lumps and bumps are far less elegant, so shapewear can help with that, as long as you wear it *underneath* your clothes and don't go around wearing shapewear only. wearing shapewear as clothes is what makes it not elegant
Love your videos Alice. I am 76 and have always aspired to be elegant. Your advice is so helpful and keeps me up to date. Thank you
This Yank ADORES your big French accent. And Gaul energy. Keep on keeping on!
So I was surprised that I didn't agree with all your points but I certainly respect them.
I love it. Japanese has the same elegance rules as you mentioned.
I really like your channel, Alice. Very authentic focused on true style and not selling mainstream luxury🐱
Lovely presentation! We American women of a certain age should listen. My German mother always said, “Dress as you want to be treated….then behave the part!” Being rude, demanding and loud will ruin the most elegant outfit.
An elegant woman has certain way she moves through the world. Ladies pay attention because this advice will serve you well throughout your life.
❤
Love the video Alice, ignore the rest of the viewers who have nothing else to do but add negative vibes when you are sharing elegance and fashion. I love going to France, love french food, love the accent and I also want to learn french. Love your elegant outfit in this video ❤from London.
I agree on every single point. My husband is the most elegant gentleman, and he has 1 tattoo, a nickname his father gave him in his handwriting somewhere relatively hidden (behind the ear) . He got it days after his father passed away. Like you said, it wasn’t for aesthetic purposes. I always wanted a tattoo but thankfully never got it
If it’s not aesthetic what’s it got? Did he have to get it for his job? Lol
Alice, I love your French accent😊 You are doing a great job👍🏻👍🏻 Vive la France!🥰
I don’t find all tattoos distasteful, but my thought is….if it should not be on an art gallery wall it certainly should not be on your skin.
@@melissac.5948 I've heard men insult tattoos and get offended when I refused to date them for .... also having tattoos. Hey, I don't have them, so they couldn't even call me a hypocrite! It was funny that they felt this never applied to men? I find them repulsive.
@@LotusesGalaxyOcean I agree 100% some tattoos are very striking and tell a story
Alice,
I totally agree with your list.
Plus, I am glad that someone addressed this topic. I am astonished how not-elegant or even
vulgar our pop-culture become during recent years…. it is so sad that so many young girls feel the need to look lika a gangsta or stripper to be “trendy” 😢😢
A school friend became an alt icon called a Suicide Girl. She wondered why I wasn't impressed. Covered in tattoos and piercings, very fetish clothing.
It’s the only refreshing video I’ve seen all day
Your tips are classic common sense loved them and will definitely buy some of the jewelry thank you 🙏🏼
I LOVE that you state your opinion directly.
I love how she tells it just how it is,no fake "all is good if you feel like u love it"😅
Excellente vidéo. Fell in love with the white blouse with ruffles. Si chic. Du Québec
Super! J'ai tout compris même en anglais 😂et j'adhère à 100%. Ces préceptes font plaisir à entendre de la bouche d'une jeune femme ❤
I have tattoos, and I am an elegant woman. Elegance is a state of mind above all else. Clothes alone cannot work miracles or transform a person, but attitude is a gold mine.
If you have to SAY you're elegant....
As long as they are not visible.
Tattoos will never be elegant, sorry.
I go to the swimming each weekend what should I wear there ?evening gown?
@@seabreeze4559why not?! We should be able to recognize our own talents and qualities, nothing wrong with her saying that’s she’s elegant, good for her

0:51 This was a very smooth and elegant way to put people in their place & I'm here for it❤ by the way. Good morning from this side of the world!
Seriously. Enough with the easily triggered people. 🙄
Love the video agree with almost everything but a delicate sun kissed light fake tan in spring and summer makes me feel better about myself. Just my thoughts on this subject!
Obviously, what is elegant is highly subjective. This is your channel, you do you.
I agree with the handbags, I don like bags with gold/silver, I like a plain leather bag that is simple and chic. ❤
I agree with every point you’ve made. Elegance is not showiness. You’re a beautiful woman with lovely skin & hair, and I’d love to see you in a less severe hairstyle, something just a little softer. Thank you for your wonderful video & hard work!
It's not severe at all.
I’m sad when I see young people ruin their beautiful, young, skin with tattoos.
I love your channel and the fact that you are consistent with your views. Hope more women find your channel cos we need to bring classic chic and elegance back.
Idk how I ended up here. I appreciate this version or standard of elegance but the world is so big and full of beauty and elegance presented in different ways.
I am definitely not what one would call elegant but love watching your videos.
Thank you ☺️
Appreciate your honest critique….very refreshing
I think the classic Chanel is elegant only if it’s vintage 🥰
Hello Alice, thank you for another great video! I totally agree with you and thank you for showing courage and addressing these points. I am so looking forward to your next videos!
I just discovered your channel! I love it! What you say is often what I think about too. Thank you for the reminders and practical advice. Consumerism has caused people to forget how to be elegant.
I agree with all 10 points.
And elegance is more than this. It is an attitude and it doesn't depend on money.
Thanks for the video and greetings from Germany 😀
It depends on money. You cannot be stereotypically “elegant” if you don’t have the money to dress well.
@@icunurse6825you can find very nice things at consignment stores. I once got a jones of new York blazer for $5. The tag was still on it ($250).
@@verapurrio5462Certainly elegance is not something you can buy, and it’s not synonymous with luxury either. But like most things in life, it is much easier to achieve with money. Come to think of it, I believe that what you’re describing is closer to something like “dignity.” That’s the part that is indispensable.
Sometimes being overly casual is so freeing.
Your accent is amazing. I wish I had it.
Excellent video. Thank-you for making each of these points.
I love learning about everyone’s perspectives on elegance as I piece together my own personal interpretation of elegance ❤️
I love adding my own personal twist on classic styles; videos like yours are so helpful!
I absolutely agree and love this minimalist image. This style really suits my quiet down to earth personality
Agreed with everything, Dear Alice!💖🌹
I love that you speak about the truth ❤ Nowadays people have misconceptions about clothing and do things according to the trend sometimes I feel am outdated 😂 after I listened to what you mentioned I think that I realized that I am always elegant. Yes, I am
Love it! Boundaries & taste - needs to come back into fashion.
I agree with the designer bag. I also go under stated I hate logo all over what I’m wearing no matter how luxury the brand or not.
Yes!!!
Je suis vraiment d’accord avec toi et toute les choses dans cette vidéo! BRAVO!
I love every word you said. All your ideas are true.
I love this video! Very honest.
On a personal note, my family included pierced ears to this list. (Grandmother smoked occasionally ,but always with a cigarette holder).
I also believe that elegant ladies never say “look expensive”. Expense is a term associated with OBJECTS that are for purchase. There’s a subtle implication that an expensive woman can be bought, and it is very difficult for me mentally to separate that from sex work.
Absolutely loved your video. Keep the good work.
Tasteful, but not elegant. I think this generation is so far removed from elegant dressing that it's no wonder you associate it with older women.

I agree on most of the points, but invisible shapewear under an elegant dress is a must at a certain age, even if you're slim and welltrained.- Im sure french women wear a lot shapewear, the example shown is not typical for the use of shapewear. -
Also French elegant women use fake tan at their legs in summer, they just use it in a descrete way, not from white to brown skin, just a really minimal change of skin tone.
Elegant people don’t talk about what is elegant 😊

This video is so refreshing to see ♥️thank you!
This is one of your top ten best videos! I must be super elegant like a French woman because I follow all those rules - hooray
Couldn’t agree more!

@@EvelyneB. this way of thinking is not Elegant at all it’s arrogant
