Although it’s totally not necessary to add in the scenes from Friends and Chris Farley, it cracks me up when you do things like this.
I think it’d be cool if you reviewed one of the “misfit” produce boxes and see what you get and if it’s worth the value/if the quality is there.
Yes!
That would be a great video!
I have a subscription and have saved SO much money using it, however, it may not work for some people. My household eats a prominently vegetarian diet and our local access to affordable fresh produce is very limited.
I ordered from Imperfect Produce for a long time and was very pleased.
Yes please! I’m interested in these but I don’t know if they’re ACTUALLY worth the cost!
I get mine from Imperfect foods and though it is always late, I very rarely have problems with what I get. I don't get cucumbers anymore, because they are never good. This last one looks like Fedex used it for soccer practice, it arrived open and the ice pack melted (sealed still), but the food was intact. It was missing two bell peppers. and they have been refunding the shipping cost for lateness. But, for $39 I got 12 small navel oranges, 9 small apples, 4 avocado, 2 yellow bell peppers, pound of small yellow potatoes, pound of carrots, 1 bunch of kale, 8 limes, 2 lemons, 4 pears, 2 medium butternut squash (the 2 I got last week were HUGE), 2 spaghetti squash and 5 giant zucchini, 2 garlic, and a lb of red onions. Just priced it at my local Walmart grocery and the cost for all that in store is $47.53. and I halved the amount of apples and oranges because the ones I get from imperfect are small. plus, you don't just get whatever they send, you can pick from what they have available. when you subscribe they make you pick a meat or grain item (at least on the xlarge box) but you just take it off when you are customizing your box. and they do have organic items. some at not much higher prices.
Compared to the other reviews of meal prep boxes that you've tried, this is a huge improvement not only in price but in execution by the company as well. It seems like every time you've tried a meal service in prior videos they were either missing ingredients and you'd have to supplement along with contacting their customer service for refunds/concerns or the recipe was "meh, ok". Having missing ingredients is a huge turn off for me when considering a service, the whole point is convienence and thats not conveinent. Keep up the awesome work, love these videos!!
I like how you broke everything down per serving.
But what i love is your kids reactions. That is priceless.😉
Love these kind of videos and love to see the “Christine price” for everything. Thank you for making such amazing videos. Much love to you ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for doing a price comparison! I had been wanting someone to do this for a while. It's really great to see that this box is a lot closer to what you'd pay doing your own shopping, and it can be a great time saver since you don't have to plan the meals, make a list, and then go shopping! I might have to try them again. ~Caroline
I’m blessed to have plenty to spend on groceries but I grew up frugal/ poor. I’m obsessed with your channel. Much love!
Are you saying that she's frugal/ poor?
I really love your channel. Watched a good 5 videos of yours just today. I find you so likable and relatable. I love how you keep things simple. Videos aren't flashy or overproduced. You don't waste time - you get to the point. Keep up the awesome work!
I'm an accountant so I LOVE to see these breakdowns with the exact amounts. It's awesome!
And I see that Southern Comfort eggnog. Yum!
I definitely agree about the portions. I found that they were actually pretty generous servings when we tried them.
I LOVE these types of vids. Never purchased any food boxes because my first thought is always that I could make it cheaper! I love the fact that so many of these services have recipes posted on their websites.
I received my very first order this past Wednesday and I have cooked 2 meals so far "herb butter steak with cheesy potato & broccoli" and "moo shu beef w/rice" they were delicious! very easy prep work and I loved how all the ingredients are sent to you. My family thought it tasted very good. Definitely worth trying and it was the most inexpensive meal kit.
What a beautiful family you have 😊. Thank you for soliciting their opinions, and including them in your videos; it makes the whole thing so friendly, and kids are brutally honest about food, so hearing their thoughts really helps to know how the dishes taste overall.
Love this series of videos - really appreciate your breakdowns and input. 👌🏻
I love these videos. I find them so fun to watch. I'd love to see you review prep dish. Happy New year!
Just found your channel, and loving it! My husband and I started using Every Plate a couple of months ago, and really like it! Kind of a fun way to try new recipes. We almost always have leftover food... huge portions for two people.
Definitely going to try to make that pasta dish this week! Love your channel and I hope you can review more meal/food subscription boxes
Love it! Thanks for your honest opinion and breakdown of the numbers.
Just ADORE the Christine price!!!! Thank you for taking the time for this.
Good morning!! I tried their meal service a couple times because a friend gave me a couple free codes. We really enjoyed the meals! Excited for this video. 💛
I love Everyplate! It's only two in my house, but we get 4 meals for 2 people and it's around $48 (including shipping). For us, we don't get home until around 6 pm, and having everything we need already at the house is amazing, so we don't stop at the store and buy unnecessary things, thus saving us money.
I just found your channel.Very impressive and very knowledgeable about how to prep meals on a budget.Thank you!
yessss thank you for doing the price comparison! that’s what i’ve been looking for
Thank you for sharing this:) The fajitas looked delicious 😀
I’m a busy working wife and mom of 3 that loves fitness, budgeting, and feeding my family health meals. I have to tell you, you inspire me so much!
It's a great idea to get for the first days on a vacation. I dread shopping as soon as we drop the suitcases.
Andi Maddux that’s a great idea
I love that you’re break everything down! I recently signed up for Mealime premium and use Walmart delivery-my price per meal is still soooooo much cheaper than Hello Fresh/Blue Apron.
This is such a great video! We are a family of 6 we just ordered Dinnerly but would love to see a break down of Dinnerly and how Dinnerly works for your family. Thank you for sharing this ❤️
This is a great video. I’m gonna give this service a try. Thanks Christine!
That was good. Something I consider when using these boxes is the ease of cooking. I am NOT a natural cook so these sorts of boxes have been helpful for me. Marley Spoon is one we have in Aus but the meals are much more complicated than I’d like, often seven hundred prep dishes to wash after cooking. 👩🍳 🤷♀️
What I like about the meal kits are the fact that you have a recipe that you can recreate that you know is tasty and doesn't take long to prepare. Win...win💗
Just used your code to try out a box for my family. Thanks for sharing the code. Cant wait to try!
I’ve been looking for a video like this! Thank you for doing the work for me lol
I love these videos. So helpful!! Sounds like a really good option for those who love meal boxes. I have to say though that I have a family of 5 and 3 of those 5 are BIG eaters. These would not feed my family. Even with sides, it would not be enough. This is why I like to cook meals at home. I make much more food than we need and we use the leftovers. We all take the leftovers for breakfast/lunch and even have a leftover night once a week. Saves a ton of $$ and avoids boredom with meals. God bless
LOL I love how you ended the video. I'm glad that those meals I was also worried that they would not be enough food. Now you have the recipes to do yourself. Lots of love from Kanata Ontario Canada
I been thinking about every plate! Those meals look awesome.
:D glad to see your review. It would also be cool to see what you could do to stretch out the meals from the meal boxes as well. :) Thank you.
Loved the price comparisons :)
I recently discovered your channel and I think you are lovely and witty and incredibly entertaining and informative. We just got our own place and we need to make that food budget stretch for awhile, and your tips and tricks give me faith as well as some peace of mind that I will not have to eat ramen for the next 2 month. Although ramen is delicious.
We are on a super tight budget and tried a few of the boxes for really busy days and when there was a lot going on. Honestly, although Every Plate had much simpler meals, we really enjoyed them and I didn't feel guilty about spending the money... especially with the discount codes I had for the boxes at the time. I believe the meals ended up being about 3.25 each. And, what is important to one person, like budget, might not be as important to someone else who may not care about the budget, but doesn't have time to cook, etc. I love these kinds of videos and hope to see more. Blessings.
One of my friends purchased Blue Apron Tor herself and her boyfriend. She said it was easier than having to shop, prep, carry groceries - she had Breast Cancer so it was a blessing
I love videos like this. Thank you.
I’m looking forward to this bc I’ve never felt these boxes are worth the money.
Let’s see what u found out!
I'm with Andrew! What's not to love - pasta, sausage and parmesan - yummy!
Very informative and interesting video thanks for putting in the time and effort to create it.
This is such a great video!
hi 😍✝️💞 just found your channel and have been binge watching 😊Please make more videos,I absolutely love watching ways to help improve me and my fams life, budget, health etc💟 Much love and many blessings to you and yours💝 And so excited to see more of your cooking, shopping, budgeting, etc vids.
Wow great review, really like that you compared with grocery prices.
Recently found your channel. I shop similarly to you! Please do a video making these from your own ingredients. Loving your videos!
Pablano & Serrano peppers are AMAZING!!
Agreed!
Are the hot?
Thank you so much for your video….this would be perfect for my wife and myself….we are both disabled and this looks like a perfect match for us….Thanks again
I shop/budget a lot like you, so I love that you compared regular prices to "Christine shopping" aka super frugal prices. I am always challenging myself to feed my husband and myself good meals for under $5 per day (total), and that is no easy task. So happy to find your channel!
Not going to buy the box but I am going to steal the recipes to make them jajaja 😂 thank goodness I finally found somebody like you that explains how to shop and cook for a big family! I’ve looking everywhere for ideas for about 3yrs. Keep at it and thank you
I love your videos! Just wanted to let you know that Walmart (in my area, at least) has grocery delivery for $12.95 per month. I ended up having to use it (free trial, yay!) this week when our whole family was too sick to drive.
Nothing like this in Ireland but thanks for breaking it down, very interesting how a different pepper type shakes up a meal (sounds obvious), trying to add more variety to my meals.
I love that you share these. I would never buy them just because I am so cheap and know I can make them for cheaper, but have tried some of the recipes that you shared. I.e. the Daulphiniose Potatoes are the best and so easy.
I just found your channel!!! Your two boys names are my two boys names also my youngest is a Ryan and my oldest is Tyler!!
I love your flashbacks to show quotes!!
Found your channel today and am really enjoying it!
Family of 8 here and I’m still enjoying. I normally just double recipes I find.
OMG you just said “if you want to send me hate mail” 😂😂😂
Trying sheet pan fajitas this week from your other video.
WHY WAS I NEVER TOLD YOU COULD MAKE FAJITAS ON A SHEET PAN?!
Lissy's lattes and lunching how’d they turn out?
Thank you for this! Nebraska wasnt part od their delivery service for awhile and now they are ans some higher value coupons came a cpuple a weeks ago to try but i was hesitant but now will totally try!
Going to try it out 🙂
I ordered the 3 meals for 2 with your voice and if was under $10! Can't beat that too try it!
I do dinnerly every so often. Including shipping it comes out to about $38, that's for 3 meals for 2 people.
I'd love to see a recreation of the first pasta dish, it looked so nice. I'm from the UK though so couldn't even get this service if I wanted to try the recipie 😭
Amazing Video! Thank You so much for doing this review. KUDOS
I think you should do Dinnerly! I’ve done it for two people before and had a lot of success. I did almost always have to add a little something extra to help it stretch, but SOME of them made tons of extras!
I thought for sure grocery store would be cheaper I'm really impressed by the value of this box and silly me i placed the order THEN started watching these videos. Im single and live alone so being able to make fresh meals daily and not worry about food going bad or making too much etc im really excited to get my box friday
I liked this video, great ideas... I will say, sometimes the food meal services get you out of a food rut. They get you to try new things 😘😘😘
Great video.
Thanks for this review! I'm getting ready to have my second baby so I may sign up.
I am ordering right now using your code. That's a great deal!
Great job, Christine!!!!! You do an amazing job making these videos and feeding your family delicious meals!
Maybe sun basket meal service?
New subscriber here. I love your channel! So much good info.
How do you do the pickled red onions??
I’m sold
For SUPER budgety you should try Full Cart. They don't really have meals exactly (there's little to not meat included) but it's got breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks and it's super cheap. $14.99-$24.99 plus any coupon you can find at the time ("healthier "gets you 50% off right now). I haven't tried it yet and I fill like it would have to be supplemented with other things but I'm interested in whether it's worth what you get.
I have 3 in my family and two of them are big eaters so the meal for 4 does pretty well especially if I add extra mashed potatoes or veggies.
There's a box called "imperfect foods" that will send you your choice of produce and non perishable foods at a discount because they're "ugly". They sent me a discount code "thirty%" to get 30% off and I think it'd be cool if you reviewed. Also, it's so hilarious when you talk about thumbs down on your video! Makes me laugh every time 😂😂
Great video! Very informative. Thank u for sharing. I was wondering if they have their recipes listed on their site like hello fresh?
They are hard to find, I was able to google the actual recipe and get them.
@@FrugalFitMom thank u! I love trying new things
I’d love to see if imperfect produce and butcher box are worth the money :3 thank you so much for all of the wonderful information!
Imperfect produce doesn't deliver in Idaho right now. :(
Who could have already thumbs down’d this video! It’s only been out less than an hour!
Trolls get up early on Fridays! 😏
Psychopaths! 🤪😆
I struggle with thinking a everyday meal at even $9 is a good deal but if it is in place of going out then it is fantastic.
Ask the grocery manager at walmart where their grocery CVP (customer value priced) items are.
They use this to mark down products that are damaged but still sellable or have expiration dates approaching (meats, bakery, produce).
* air quotes * Bahahaha! Thanks for another great video, Christine
I thought of you the day when my hubby came back from the grocery store .
He brought home some pork ribs he found at 77 cents a pound. It looked like the package was messed up.
I’m glad they didn’t screw up your box like hello fresh 😂
It didn't make for as good of a thumbnail!
And Jen, that it got delivered to the right address! Lol
very interesting. as a family of just me, it is much better to shop than to order. i spend approx. 150$ a month...that includes having to pick up more milk or produce..
Walmart also does delivery
I love your video.
Have you heard of full cart? They ran a special last week for $5 for a box. It arrived this week and it’s a ton of food. Mostly shelf stable, carb foods (like pasta and mashed potatoes). They often run specials.
That's amazing! How do you know about the specials?
I saw someone post about it in Frugal Family Food on Facebook. They said to watch their Facebook page and they’ll regularly run specials.
Bruh your frugal flex is fyre
I've used SunBasket and the food is good, if pricey. We eat a gluten-free diet, so we really needed that as an option. I would love to hear what you think!
I use this service every week. One way it saves me money is the spices included. I have had Dinnerly and it is not worth the money at all. Everyplate is owned by Hello Fresh. They are the cheaper version with less menu options. Hello Fresh gives you 2 more ounces of meat per packet, but I cannot find any other real differences. Great video. I really enjoyed it.
You are awesome!
You seem like a really nice family.
Can EP be cooked all in an Instant Pot?
Are you able to tell me which meal service has the lease prep time/ clean up??
I love this idea and this is the cheapest I’ve seen for meals like this. This would be ideal for me because it’s only me. I always buy too much when I grocery shop and end up throwing food away. How long will your discount coupon last? I cannot order until next month, so hoping it will still be good then. Love Your Videos!! 👍👍
I think it's good forever!
Frugal Fit Mom Thank You! 😊
Interesting comment on meat, in UK standard portion size is 4-6ozs of meat or fish.
The food looked delicious! I like when you do these type of videos. I think “we” as Americans large portions,ok I’m very guilty. Thx for sharing.
