This song has a special place in my heart. First time I heard this the summer going into 8th grade. My Dad and I drove to South Carolina to visit my grandfather. I remember at some point during the drive I had passed out and woke up to my dad singing along as this played on the radio. My dad was always a pretty decent singer, but I remember he sounded great singing this song. I remember just watching him and admiring him so much. We had a really tough relationship for a long time but I moments like that reminded me how much I loved and admired my Dad. Nothing about the lyrics or anything else, but that memory will forever be attached to this song.

I was only 7 or 8 but remember this song so well, the guitar intro is like an instant Time Machine back to the mid 70s.
The first time I heard this song was in Huntsville Alabama at a club with some friends in probably 1975 or 76. I asked a beautiful blonde to dance and I listen to this song often because it’s a good memory.

Just the unassuming nature of the music could lull you into thinking they were contemplating having a cup of pudding or something if you didn't listen carefully. But Rod Stewart's "Tonight's the Night" was the totally overt, in your face, no holds barred, take no prisoners sexy song of the 1970s. LOL. You instantly knew what he was singing about, even if you weren't really paying attention.

I use to have big ideas on what I thought love was all about. It's not easy alot of work and tears. This is one of those songs that still touches my heart. True love is hard to find and when you do for Gods sakes hold on to it. And never play with it or take it for granted. Some of us never get a chance with it we just think we did. Peace love and light

I've seen him live in concert 2 or 3 times. I got close to meeting him because the floor manager knew how crazy I was about Rod Stewart, and I worked there so that was a help, but Rod had gone by then. I would have passed out, so it's just as well. I would still love to meet him, and would love to sit on the Piano Bench while Elton John was playing Sacrifice

This brings back so many memories from 1976, I was only 16 and this song resonates with where I was in my life at that time. I was just a young naive girl and this song was so romantic to me the way it tells of a girls first time. "Spread your wings and let me come inside" I thought that was sooo poetic and beautiful.

This was first recorded in 1976...Rockin' Rod's still got it! And writes all his own lyrics and music. This was his SEVENTH album! One of many bands that Stewart was in was Faces and Jeff Beck Trio, Ron Wood...let's just sum it up...the members were in these groups: Small Faces, The Jeff Beck Group, Free, The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Jones Gang, Simply Red w/ Mick Hucknall (Holdin' back the years)
Rod's been rockin' just about as long as the Stones. Amazing. He used to kick a soccer ball around in stadia, but lawyers were afraid fans would get hurt. Geez!
