The “Don't Go Breaking My Heart” video was shot all in one take with a three-camera setup by Mike Mansfield. During the instrumental section, Elton attempts to teach Kiki a version of the “hand jive”, a 1950s dance that would resurge in popularity with the release of the film Grease.

2024 anyone?

Absolutely. Music today can't touch this.
Yes like Siiiii, from Guatemala.
Yesssssss

Why are they so adorable, she looks shy at the beggining and he's trying so hard to make her comfortable ;_;
She's pretending to be shy. It's the premise of the bit.
He was so enthused and full of enjoyment, I really noticed that
Hes a simp.
Just kidding this song is amazing and greatings from austria🇦🇹
@@thebrazilianatlantis165 no she's not
Maybe she feels intimidated by a man who's in a hurry to finish the song so he can knobgobble his boyfriend.
Cudos to Elton for making Kikki comfortable with hugs and smiles all while singing live. Amazing performance.
Quem é ela? Kikki ?
One of my all-time favorite duets. They both did an exceptional job.
Right 💗🙌🏽🙏🏽
They're clearly having fun together. THIS is my favorite duet. It's from Brasil. Enjoy ua-cam.com/video/E1tOV7y94DY/v-deo.htmlsi=o8rpUa4_xRwwjLh0

I like how Elton comes in all excited and Kiki is like ‘-‘ but then she gets excited too
This Is Way better Than Backstreet Boys.
That was stage fright at it best!
Exactly. She has a slow start, but then catches on!
I thought it was just me.
It almost looked like he pulled her into the room and it looked like she was saying something to him as he pulled her along.
It also kinda looked like he was being a little bit of a goof ball to make her more comfortable.
Just remember: by 1976 EJ was a well-known seasoned professional and Kiki was a rookie. Yeah, she was a little nervous.
Elton was the true defined version of swag and the 70s and 80s
And Queen was the definition of rock and a great band
Knew it from Family Guy?
OH MY HEAVENS NO. This comment is both laughable and disturbing.

Kiki's emotional reserve in this performance gets me every time. Elton was a much bigger star and she almost appears to be in awe of him. It's charming the way she warms up to this song as she sings it. This cannot have been acted: it was her natural emotion.
Took the words out of mouth. I'm 55. I've never seen this video before tonight. Never knew what she looked like. Why I never heard about her after this song. But, yes. In 3 minutes she goes from nervous to shy to cute to warming up to stealing Elton's shine. He sees it early. To keep her down he almost breaks her neck at: 00.47. "Slow your roll, gir.". But very cute till the end.
I almost get the opposite for admiration of KiKi Dee instead
@@dusterbuster He wouldn't have been doing that to be oppressive, I'm sure it was more of a "calm down and just slowly progress"
She stoke the video by being REAL! When she got over the starstruckness she killed it.
That voice is itched in my heart.

This is Elton John at his best. How can anyone not feel happy listening to this, he’s an amazing songwriter
@Meh Bernie writes all of the lyrics and elton writes all of the music. They never swap roles at all... bernie sends sheets of lyrics to elton and he turns them into songs. It's a weird process they use, elton says they've never sat next to each other and wrote a song ever, he always just gets sheets of lyrics.
But yeah Bernie deserves a huge amount of credit for his wonderful lyrics (and elton talkd about him a lot and makes sure he gets credit), but it's elton who writes all the music.
This is a cool video to watch btw... it shows elton with the original lyrucs bernie gave him for 'tiny dancer' and he explains how he wrote the music for it: ua-cam.com/video/B0W6jCOggWQ/v-deo.html
Bernie Taupin wrote these lyrics but it’s one of the few songs he hates.
Elton and Bernie’s musical partnership is on the same level of importance as Paul McCartney and John Lennon.
Look up the movie/doc Two Rooms.
He didnt write his own music
@@bodyandmind9285 Yes he did? Bernie Taupin is a lyricist. He writes the lyrics and Elton writes the music.

One of the best songs in human history.
So rare to see Elton NOT with a piano
In the Behind the Scenes for this, Elton explains that he actually was on piano, he just reproduced asexually and had the new version of himself play piano
Afterwards, he proceeded to consume his counterpart whole to regain his strength.

Anche il mio! Anche noi, durante i viaggi...avevamo 2 cassette audio di Elton John e tra le canzoni c'era anche questa e io e mio fratello la cantavamo😆🤣
At the risk of becoming sentimental...at that time in my childhood years I did not realise how fun and good those times were...and it's songs like this that brings back those memories. They sounded so good together...
I was 13 and on holiday in the Lake District when this got to number 1. I'd been an Elton John fan since 1974 and was so glad he hit the number 1 spot with this song in the summer of 1976..
This song was around when I was 19 yrs. Boy, how things have changed.
Reminder: At this time, Elton was the biggest rock star in the world.
Saw him, live, in Portland OR in 1976. There was NO opening act.
Elton was at his piano at 8pm and with a short break, he finished at 11:35pm. F en awesome !
Elton was light rock at best. As for biggest, that was and is a highly contested claim. He was also one of the most hated artists at the time as well. Especially since Fleetwood Mac was getting huge around this time, and Pink Floyd as well as Led Zeppelin were still very much household names (although this was about the time Zeppelin started to wane). Not to mention this was the beginning of the rise of Metal era, and Black Sabbath was pretty massive at the time. Oh, then there was also another band.. named Queen.
So sure.. Elton was the biggest Light Rock performer... but biggest overall.. like I said, highly, highly contested claim.

yes anicetune, it's called acting.
It looks like an impromptu video. It appears to me that they just cut the track in the studio and there was a camera crew present and Elton decided to create a simulation. He leads and she follows along quite well.

@@hmshood319 debatable...Elton was married to a woman for a while, lest we forget. And, like other men who primarily have a preference for same gender liaisons - not at all unheard of to not be constrained by that primary preference. (Freddy Mercury, Erik Bruhn (Ballet), George Michael)

Always though Kiki was a vastly underrated vocalist. Her voice is beautiful and she was able to elevate an ordinary song into something special.
Hi Dave. I saw Kiki in the musical, Blood Bothers by Willie Russell many years ago in London. She was terrific. Not only did she have to act, but she had a couple of the most tear-jerking solos I've ever heard (in context). A real trouper in fine voice and such fun to watch play.
Hello Hugh and thanks for the reply. Didn't realise that Kiki also acted but I'm not really surprised as talent has many outlets.
Even without Kiki this would have been no ordinary song to me. The vocals are great of course but I am a musician and always appreciate the music and the the song in it's entirety.
