my dad used to buy CDs with the concerts of Bon Jovi, Bee Gees, Eagles, etc...and that was where i got to listen for the first time to Rod Stewart (One Night Only). as someone from this current generation, it's true that music like this is awesome and considered best :)) btw, i am a big fan of these amazing songs from the day it was introduced to me by my father and grandfather. but hopefully no hate for the music we hear today because music is constantly changing, although we have our own preferences. i am a teenager, and i love listening to more of these than the trends, but i still acknowledge them as music (like kpop, EDM, etc.). even though there's nothing like this nowadays, may we also respect what the youths listen to today. it's not our fault we're born in this generation and also exposed to the music we mostly hear :)) take notes..no hate, just respect

I never been in the club all my life, am way over 30, however, if this is what they do at clubs, then i am certainly going clubbing..... @@rabfallon4507 You are correct. He wrote it, apparently in 1965, but not originally with the intent to put it out himself, but just as a songwriter. I still think Rod Stewart's cover from his 1976 "A Night on the Town" album is the best version.

Correct, he didn't write it. All props to Cat Stevens, but Rod's version is better, and he made it his song. And the studio version tops even this (though this looks like great fun).
But cat stevens made a demo recording in 1965.
We all have unique voices, however having raspy voices is far from unique... Most notably Tom Waits which truly have an unique raspy voice.
Leonard Cohen, Bonnie Tyler, Joe Cocker, Louis Armstrong, Stevie Nicks, Brian Johnson to name a few actually good well known raspy voices.

Just to clarify. Rod Stewart was born in 1945, and this the above video was recorded in 2004, I think, making him 59 at the time of the video we are watching, and very young looking. But not 75 in the above video, AFAIK.

In 1992 I got married. That day I felt like it was a mistake but I thought it was cold feet. Well a few months later this song came on. He said when it comes to being lucky shes cursed and when it comes to loving me shes the worst.
I could see her out of the corner of my eyes and I knew it wasn't going to last. She wanted to change me into what she wanted me to be. I just wanted to be myself. Luckily when she mentioned having a kid I said no.
Years later I met someone who wanted to be pregnant by 30. I thought about it and agreed. I knew the kid would be ok even if I wanted out. What I didn't count on was how much love I felt for this little girl. It changed my life forever.
