I just did the links on my 2001 Focus station wagon and this video was a big help. Thanks for posting. I'm hoping this was the reason my back tire wore out and very uneven. I need new shocks too but I cant get the top bolt out for anything so I'll take in in for that.

These links look different to the ones on my AU Tickford are there different types
If the linkage is worn out, will that cause the rear-end to have a fish tail effect when driving over uneven surfaces?
Max my ole lady's car is doin the same thing I'm goin to do this see if it will fix the problem witg that fishy tail really bad around 50 mph
Usually makes the rear end unstable on bumpy curvy roads,hardly noticeable on flat straight surfaces
Are the front ones the same? Because I see this kind on auto parts store and a long one?
the front sway bar links are different.
Were you hearing noises? Any symptoms that they were worn out?
No noises, just herd the snap when pulling into the driveway, the bolt rusted to the point of thinning the diameter till it snapped
