    *What Mike have taught me:*
    - Never _ever_ get a life insurance
    - Don't move to Florida. Or Canada.
    - Don't become a real estate agent
    - Don't become mormon
    - No sex working
    - Don't have a spouse. Or an ex. Or a spouse with an ex. Or kids. Or stepkids. Or a step parent. Or a parent.
    - Never light up a room (thx Jane Doe, that IS important knowledge!)
    *What seems to be okay:*
    - Heroin
    - Bear wrestling
    - Cartels
    - Alone at night in Compton
    - Alone at night in the woods (no bicycling!)

The mishandling of the case by the cops is dead average. I once called the cops when I came home to find the windows broken, and all the drawers pulled out. The cop asked me was I sure there had been a break in? Then he looked around and left. The next time I had a problem in the neighborhood I called the neighbors. Much more effective.

Often it's not that they don't care, it's that the due process has to worked around & they're being very careful to make sure it's done correctly bc they want charges to stick. It's unfortunate, but it happens. I know a trooper who hated that part of law enforcement, but those laws & procedures have to be there to protect civil rights, innocent people from being a victim of prejudice, protect citizens from the new cop who really wants to have charged prosecuted. The thing is, if guys like this end up missing, or found dead, typically the cops aren't going to invest much time in solving the case.

Something else I noticed is that the "investigation" of his property was apparently so worthless that they didn't even confirm any of the details of his claims, or find any DNA evidence of his numerous victims. They flattened the house after a quick cursory look.
    I think i know why.
With years of records showing they allowed this man to torture and murder multiple women and girls it's more convenient for those cops to just bulldoze the house and make it all go away.

Crystal clear case, many parties were at fault here including the neighbours, but the police never investigated the claims of people screaming and blood everywhere, or inquire about his threats to his neighbours. Even after he got raided and was in custody they didn't dig into anything else he was doing. There's cases on this channel where police do more with less info and still get convictions. Police didn't care here, not saying it's malicious, but they didn't. One could say the police in Jacksonville are overworked due to the city being one of the gang Capitals in the US.

As a single dad raising my daughter alone, this is a huge fear for me that I can't be around every second of her life. My little lady bug is only 2 1/2 right now, but even taking her to daycare each morning is a daily worry while I'm at work. You question every bump and scratch when you pick them up and you try to teach them to tell you if anything happened that wasn't normal while you as a parent was at work. But how do you prepare your children beyond stranger danger for encountering a predator. Or even just manipulative peers of their own age they will run into at school or outside playing. This has gone to the Supreme Court 3 times, and each time the courts have decided that cops have no legal obligation to protect you, even if you were to be getting attacked right in front of them(like the Joe Lozito/Max Gelman/NYC case). This is why the 2nd amendment is important. Because if the government has no obligation to protect you, then it is 100% up to you to protect yourself. So you should have every tool available to do so.

People who haven't needed to get police "restraining orders" against violent threats usually have no clue how impossible they are to get and how useless they can be. An old friend of mine got kicked out of his house when his long-term partner and he broke up, and when I let him move into my garage conversion, his ex started threatening to kill me and my family, including my infant son. It turns out that since this crazy woman was neither MY ex nor MY family, it was absolutely impossible to obtain any restraining order, and it was not until she actually broke into my house with a large male accomplice and physically attacked me that they were willing to do anything at all about the woman calling *hundreds of times a day* threatening to kill us all.

My mom rented the brown trailer with the white carport that you can still see in the video here right next door to the "house of horrors". While I lived there many years before Russell came back to Jacksonville and lived on the property, I do have some mild recollection of being warned not to associate with several people/families that lived nearby. I will now forever wonder if someone was warning me away from Russell and Claude Tillis. Great video - thanks for presenting it!

Yup countries like the u.s. should finally make it legal like in Germany. Not saying it's all great for those people working here, there sure is often also crime and shady stuff going on in some regions but actually you can be an official sex worker here, also pay your tax and get a pension and so on, open your own house or whatever. That helps quite a bit in terms of safety of the sex workers.
In the end these people do a very hard job - they should be at least save and make a good buck out of it. And sure be respected because they bring quite some joy to their customers. No i never took a try, just think it should be common social behaviour.
