      I take a small satisfaction (ridiculous really) in muting the deviant freaks in our Mikey's vids as they're spouting crap in their police interviews.
      Wahwahwah I was just defending myself wahwahwah she just left while I was in the shower

    Y'know what really gets my goat about this case? That Brooke is an absolute deadbeat of a mother and STILL felt entitled to the child that Savannah was bearing and preparing to bring into this world with so much love. What in the absolute fucking shit made her think that she would be a better mother to this baby than its actual mother. What convinced her that she would not be a deadbeat this time?!

    • @mrs.snyder2170

      It wasn’t about the child, it was about keeping the man. Probably the same reason she had the other kids, and then didn’t stick around long enough to take care of them once the relationship was over. Clearly she’s got a severe mental hangup with men/ rejection in relationships

    This story is absolutely terrifying. The background on the victim's family seems idyllic and happy. No one with any issues, she's young and in love, her boyfriend seems nice... And then everything goes very terrifyingly wrong. Usually stories like this involve a family member or someone falling into the wrong crowd. This was just bad luck of living near the wrong people. Absolutely horrifying.

By this time the body was wrapped in garbage bags secured in a dresser in the bedroom. Later that day they got the dresser down the stairs and out the door into a suv and William took it up to the bridge N of town and dumped the dresser in the red river and with the current went further north and she was found near a small town of Horace,ND.

      Who knows. Maybe my brain goes dark places.... but I'm remembering having to nurse some endangered Australia wildlife being smuggled out in hand-luggage suitcase from Perth airport (including cockatoos, goannas, a numbat and even an echidna..)
      They were heavily sedated and packed in amongst a mess of the usual clothes/ toiletries/ junk in hopes they wouldn't be noticed and in carry on luggage (which is more closely examined.
      Luckily they happened to be found (lots are missed) but the guys said it was a near miss because it was just so unfathomable to be that uncaring about a living creature.
      Anyway my dark horrified brain thinks they could have kept the baby heavily drugged in those first days, so she could be hidden in a drawer or elsewhere. Small baby could be easy to hide if a person was especially evil, and police were looking for a missing adult woman or signs she was being held against her will.
      Or they could have kept her away from the apartment until things settled? I don't know.
      I'm sure police ineptitude was a factor, but maybe not as big as them not looking.

      Yeah that is insane. Obviously they weren't looking very hard if they missed a human being I'm 3 separate searches, of what looked like a relatively small apartment. I mean Savannah was probably already dead at that point, and the baby turned out fine. But who knows, for all we know Savannah was still alive and police missed her too.

    • @meganwoehl5277
      @meganwoehl5277 3 роки тому +44

      @@fmulder6564 Savannah's dead body was shoved into a closet on the police's initial search. Once they left they wrapped her body up and shoved her in a dresser drawer, and then the police searched the 2nd time. Then I think before the third search they carried this dresser drawer down all the stairs, loaded it into a truck, and drove it to the river to dump her body....all while thousands of people were in that area actively searching for Savannah. The baby was placed in a laundry basket with a piece of clothing over her for the first two police searches.
      Also, let's address the fact that the police claim that they brought cadaver and scent dogs to help find Savannah...are you telling me they didn't bother to bring the dogs around the apartment of their top two suspects?! Or even in the apartment at all?! Surely they would have hit on the bathroom, or the closet, or some part of that apartment. Or the truck that they used to haul her body away in....
      And how did the police miss the fact that just hours before the searched the apartment for the first time that the bathroom was soaked in blood...you saw the apartment, it was an absolute disgusting mess...so either she cleaned up the blood so well that not a trace of it could be found and the police didn't think it was strange that the bathroom was shiny clean amidst the tornado that was their apartment, OR they didn't bother to clean that well and the police missed crucial evidence all over the bathroom that indicated someone had just been murdered.
      Is it their routine to not search thoroughly or was it because it was a call in for a missing native woman and they don't take those seriously? If they had just checked the closet, or checked the laundry basket, or checked the grout in the bathroom, or checked ANYTHING in that apartment the first time, this wouldn't have drug out for 8 long days.

Our Native sisters are still being stolen from us at alarming rates, the police are still declining to do any detective work and the families of the murdered and missing are still going without answers. As a Native woman with a Native daughter, I cannot emphasize enough how much more attention this topic needs. A UA-camr here and there, as well as their subscribers, not enough. The world needs to know what the Native women are up against. This isn't a 'trendy' subject. It's vital to our well being, as Native people, that the public at large knows. It's not just our women and girls, either. They're more likely to be targeted, but our men and boys go missing and are murdered at alarming rates as well. There won't ever be enough exposure until we see it stop. At present, it's pretty evident to us that not enough people know or care, about our stolen sisters.
      I should also add that I give a HUGE THANK YOU to Mike for covering this story. It was not my intention to diminish from the good that UA-camrs do to shed light on this topic, only to illustrate the fact that it's not enough. I am grateful to everyone that covers MMIW cases. While womb raider stories like this one are rare, the leading cause of death in pregnant women is still homicide. Pregnancy, especially in the last few months, is a very dangerous time in a woman's life. I've always been told that when you are in your last trimester, do not go anywhere alone, and do not be alone with someone you don't know very well.

    • @randallflagg3700
      @randallflagg3700 3 роки тому +56

      While that is statistically true, pregnancy as a causal factor is hard to determine.
      Like, it's not that pregnant women toward the end of their term are _more_ targeted, but that because of their lack of mobility and other factors;
      even if the 20 percent of women who die during pregnancy are victims of murder, it doesn't actually mean that the number of murders go up...
      ... It, mostly, just means that deaths by other factors such as ,random example, driving accident are removed from the equation, since women late into pregnancy don't drive as much.
      You can also remove a lot of deaths coming from random accidents at home, since at that stage most women tend not to move a lot, and hopefully have their husband/wife/partner and their parents/friends to take care of them during the critical phases.
      And that's not even taking into consideration that, in general, women late into pregnancy tend not to drink and do other drugs as much as they do when they're not pregnant, so you can also remove a good chunk of drugs overdoses, drunk driving accidents, etc etc
      And, in developed countries at least, since the health of pregnant women is also taken more seriously than usual by everyone, there are fewer risks from usual health issues that would be ...
      Also, women who are in in age of having babies are, in general, more targeted for murders than postmenopausal women, and children. Some would say, it's an age group thing, not necessarily a pregnancy thing.
      well, *long story short, it's a scary statistic* , but it doesn't necessarily means that pregnant women should be more worried about murder than if they weren't.
      Just that since that they have fewer ways to die, well that means that statistically, murder is the one cause of death that doesn't really change.
